This BunchMagh grinned as she received some approval for her little remark, turning to look at the blindingly green lioness who was standing close and two other lionesses that were moving closer.
“I’m Magh.” She replied to the small group, looking up at the juvenile in the distance one more time before eyeing each of the new faces in turns. They all looked familiar though this was the first time she was hearing their names.
“Well, he’ll have to. Bad things happen to kings who are not loved by their people.” She said dismissively with a little smirk. Poor boy. She really was only joking. Magh hoped the young lion would be able to live up to his role, unite all lions and ensure the future of the pride.
--------------------------------
Nimbe was just chuckling at Magh’s comment, pretending not to notice her unusual markings when the two lionesses joined them. The grey one was obviously someone she could get along with easily but her friend was another matter. Though born in the Pridelands, Nimbe’s parents were “outsiders” and she obviously didn’t look the least bit like the typical pridelander. It had been rough growing up with the stigma of her unusual color sometimes and she disliked those who made quick judgments of others almost as much as those that had made fun of her color in the past.
“That’s horrible.” She stated plainly at Magh’s morbid joke, faking shock. She was obviously more amused than anything, really. “He’ll be fine. Or not. It’s hard to say what anyone will become when they’re kids. I mean, I was a real brat when I younger.” She took a dramatic pause and then pretended to look thoughtful. “Wait…” She chuckled after a few moments.
“I’m Nimbe.”
---------------------------------
Tama remained a little distance from them, not really interested in talking to anyone. Despite her looks, out of the three females she was the only one who hadn’t been born in the Pridelands and she’d rather not throw her past out into the open while the pale lioness was on a rampage. She wasn’t really enjoying the “outsider” remarks that circled around her and worried about the future of the pride. Prince Tau better prove himself worthy soon because she didn’t like the idea of a civil war brewing in the Pridelands. She was interested in joining the conversation but not just yet.

Chyou's litter had been trouble since the day they were born. Not a single one of them could settle down for longer than the time it took a cheetah to sprint six feet. It came as no surprise her luck in tracking them down had been... Well, she hadn't really had any luck in that area.
A familiar face distracted her from her task. From what she could tell, Soren was busy chatting with some of the locals. Chyou waited patiently off to the right until opportunity presented itself. When there was a lull in the conversation (or so she thought), she called over to him.
"Soren!"

"Humph. I wouldn't be against seeing some bad things happen," muttered Frigga, though she didn't really mean it. Bitter though she was, and massively so, she wouldn't honestly wish pain and suffering on another animal, even some random cub from outside the pride who was supposed to be their new king down the line. She frowned and looked angry, looking from one female to the next. She didn't like the topic, but she did like having a large group of lionesses to gossip with. That was something she had always enjoyed doing, even as a cub. The female couldn't keep a secret. "Whether he's a good kid or not, he's going to be spoiled living the prince's life. Already from the outside, who knows how detached that's going to make him? Maybe he won't care about this pride at all when the time comes." Nyamafu gave her a shove for her thought, before offering Nimbe a smile. "It's nice to meet you! Don't listen to Frigga- she's a lot of talk and that's kind of all. I think you're right- we really can't tell what's going to happen in the future, so isn't it better just to stay positive and hope for the best? What's the pointing in pouting?" She looked pointedly at the out-numbered tan lioness, who huffed and looked away, making Nyamafu laugh. "well, I think it's silly, anyway. Guess some lions enjoy pouting!"

Xho giggled again happily nearly crossing her eyes trying to look up at the little hare on her head. Her ears perked towards Shangwe when he spoke and she smiled at him warmly, "I am very glad I came here too, even though it meant I had to leave my family. " Her eyes grew a little sad, "Momma sent me away cause she didn't want me to get hurt. My boys wanted to stay with their father. They are grown by now I imagine. I could have stayed there I guess, but it was dark and scary." What's this? Maybe Xho was a bit older than he though if she was talking about having grown sons. She shivered a little remembering the darkness that had clung to the pride. L'enovi would protect his sons and teach them right...and he had been brutally honest when he urged her to leave them behind. 'Xho, I know you love them but you can't even take care of yourself. How do you think you would be able to provide for them out there? No, leave them with me, I promise they will want for nothing.' Xho quickly shook her head before smiling up at him again. "I am just glad I am here and not alone anymore."

Jamii did not think it rude of the other lion to leave, nodding her head, even ducking it down a bit in a submissive gesture, as he moved off to visit his family. There seemed to be a lot of large family units around, she could see another not too far off. And they all seemed happy.
That would be nice, one day.
She looked at the two that were left, smiling thinly. Behind her, Zengea continued to stand, now watching her and her conversation, though he did not bear an expression that was readily decipherable. He swished his tail behind him, but even that seemed more to a purpose than out of mindless activity. A fly wobbled through the air and his tail stopped moving, leaving him like a sentinel once again.
Jamii either didn't notice him or just pretended not to.
"Well I don't live here... but I thought I might be able to... if this place was open to outsiders... my name is Jamii. Uhm." She shuffled her leg, flexing it when he mentioned it and pawing at the dirt idly. "Something like that," she said quietly, eyes downcast. She saw the cub down there, though, and smiled as he spoke.
"I've seen a hippo before, though I don't know if it was a giant one. It was a big one. But those things aren't very nice, as dumb as they look." She spoke softly, fond of cubs. Zengea did not have patience for them. But then, he had no patience for anyone, and treated them exactly the same as he did adults. Not that she would know that: she didn't know anything about him.

"Well, we appreciate your time," Rekhet ventured to say. He didn't smile but he wasn't looking sour, either. He nodded his head earnestly, glad for her kindness and the time. Jicho smiled a bit brighter.
"This place really does seem nice. Everyone gathered and talking, whether they all agree or not. No one seems to be fighting or anything. It's really nice to see so many lions in one place. And no one attacking anyone else." She had not seen war, personally, but she had heard about it once before.
She smiled and shook her head, looking thoughtfully around.
"Who should we go to, to see about admittance into your pride?" Rekhet asked, a bit stiffly. Conversation, for him, usually had a purpose, so he did not spend his time on chatting like Jicho was able to. He didn't really understand how to.
"And perhaps duties?"
He was happiest when he had a goal.

Matumaini Eavesdropping a little bit, Matu glanced quickly over at Potewa. "You're definitely not intruding." "I'm sorry. I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Matumaini. Most people call me Matu for short. I'm a hunter in the pride." Not that he was very good at it. His timing was exquisitely bad. He tended to leap too early, or too late if he tried to hold himself back to prevent acting too early. He smiled at Inuki and her companion, and then turned to include the grey adolescent in his circle of greeting. After all, he didn't know his name either, and so it seemed polite to include him. Hviske Hviske kind of wanted to swat Matu. He was such a thick-skulled numbnuts sometimes. Instead she smiled. "Please don't bother about it. It's nice to meet somebody with manners." Although her last statement and Matu's sudden urge to introduce himself made her acutely aware that she had been sort of lacking in the manners department herself so far. "Um. I'm Hviske, by the way. I guess I should have asked before. You'll think we all have horrible manners here."

A little late to the party, it wasn't usually his style, but he was overcoming some slight heat exhaustion due to his own stupidity of staying out in the sun a tad longer than he should have. As he moved in, he yawned and gave a large stretch before settling near the edge of the rather fearful amount of lions and chose to stay this way for now. He was in no rush to get himself caught up in the huge crowd, but was encouraged to be here by his own curiosity.

Finally, he was being treated as an adult by someone! Samiel gathered what dignity he possessed, calmed the squirming, delighted cub inside himself, and nodded greetings to the male who had included him. When turned to, and after Hviske introduced herself, he felt it was his turn. "My name is Samiel, welcome to our homeland." This was addressed to the two strangers, and was said with every ounce of politeness he could muster. Sometimes it was tough, being a teenager and not quite having a full grasp on adult mannerisms. It took practice, and he was glad for the chance to exert himself.
Determined to become more a part of the conversation, he continued speaking to the newcomer couple. "What do you think of the Pridelands?" He gestured with a paw, indicating the very large crowd that now clustered around Pride Rock. "And our new prince?" he added a shade less smoothly. He sharply reminded himself not to try too hard... it made him look like a cub with a grass-mane, pretending to be all grown up!

This Bunch “Well, that’s a bit cold. He’s only a cub.” Magh said without looking particularly distraught, probably because she didn’t think the other lioness meant what she’d said. “And ironic. From where I’m standing, out of all of us, our dashing new prince looks a lot like you.” Her grin had turned mildly malicious in nature and her eyes shone brightly as she waited for a reaction to the little provocation. She just couldn’t help but to tease the grumpy girl.
The pridelander blood in Prince Tau was obvious though many seemed to think of him as an outsider and Magh would really like to see the little lion better. He seemed to have a sort of strange marking around his neck that Magh couldn’t quite make out from where she was standing. But he looked like he belonged far more than she did.
--------------------------------
Nimbe turned her head to the side very quickly and masked a sudden laugh as an odd sort of coughing sound. Now that the orange lioness had pointed it out, it was hard not to notice the resemblance between Frigga and the new prince that the pale lioness criticized so much.
“Oh dear. Are you hiding some royal blood, Frigga?” She said once her perfectly composed demeanor had returned and she tried to defend the pale lioness, playing the devil’s advocate. “Pouting is just a waste of time but Frigga is bringing up an important point. I wonder what kind of pride the prince came from and whether or not he’ll try to make changes here.”
---------------------------------
“I’m sorry but I couldn’t help overhearing what you were saying. I’m Tama.” The brown lioness finally decided to join the conversation, encouraged by the way everyone seemed to be sharing their different opinions so openly. “The Prince seems very young and if we take the time it took him to get here and prepare him for this assembly, he was probably very young when he left his old pride. I don’t think he’ll remember much about it.” She smiled as she looked up but her final words were hard, some of her harsh nature showing. “The King must have his reasons for choosing him. I’m sure he’ll be fine. But if he’s not… well, this is a big pride. I’m sure we can find a different prince from the King’s bloodline. Shouldn’t be too difficult either. His blood is everywhere.”

Kiek Kiek winced. Really? Oh well. At least she didn't seem to be offended. Though there's no reason she should be, really. They'd just met, so there's no way he could know these things. "Well, I feel silly now. I'm not sure why I assumed otherwise." Well, that wasn't the truth, but it was certainly more politick than saying he had figured since she was a hybrid and there were almost none of those in the pride it only made sense for her to have been born elsewhere. He hadn't realize he had that sort of prejudice in his head. That was interesting. At least it wasn't a hostile sort of prejudice. He returned her warm smile. He loved living in the Pridelands, too. He could recognize that in her expression. He had never left the pride. His mate was more widely traveled than he was. By a lot. She was also older than he was, which she pointed out pretty frequently. Gliri "Have you traveled outside of the pride?" she asked. Sometimes it was kind of odd being the only lion in her small group of friends who had lived outside of the pride. Well, maybe odd wasn't the word for it. Or maybe it was. Someone as shy as she was probably should not have had the most varied experiences in a group. Except that she had. Sometimes the truth made less sense than stories. She was not really following Maral's conversation. It seemed he and Emrey had begun their own conversation and she did not want to intrude on that. She was proud of him for socializing, since he was just about as shy as she was. Gliri was almost as proud as she would have been if she had been the one socializing. What she was doing didn't count, as far as she was concerned, since Kiek was there beside herto help her through any lulls or awkward points and fill in for her if she got too shy and silent. She also wondered how old Shujaa was, to have two adult sons. Not that she would ask her that, because that would be pretty rude on Gilri's part, but Gliri's twin brother had cubs who would be old enough to have cubs of their own now. She couldn't help wondering, particularly since she had this new litter, her first, whether Shujaa had decided to have cubs earlier, like Muscar, or whether she had been more like Gliri. Gliri thought she wouldn't mind having another litter sometime, but she worried she might be too old for it already. Tuva Tuva was not a very good liar. She looked away and her ears twitched, even though she wasn't even getting ready to tell a lie. Just the idea that she had almost misled someone accidentally was enough to make her have those symptoms. "No, I've never seen a leopard," she admitted. "But my mum's told me about them. She tells a lot of really good stories, and sometimes they have leopards." She refrained from pointing out that she could see that his mother was smaller than him or his brother. Sometimes grown-ups talked to kids like they didn't have eyes or something. Mostly they were just trying to be nice. It was really weird that he got to be bigger than both of his parents. "Um...I think I'd just like to be normal sized. Being little means you can't see anything and being big means you probably have to eat a lot more." Maral Maral ventured a smile. He loved hunting and planning hunts and things like that. It was a really useful sort of thing to be doing, and he liked knowing that he was being helpful. But he could understand how others might not care for it as much. Especially if they were more nurturing sorts, as Emrey seemed to be. Oh, wait he was just a bad hunter. Maral managed not to smirk at that. "Those are pretty useful jobs. I'd be absolute rubbish at either one." He didn't really have much else to say on the subject, so he was relieved when Emrey changed it to something much easier. He could easily spend hours just enumerating his family members, given how prolific his parents were. Not that he knew the younger litter all that well, but his own litter... "It's not horrible," he agreed. "It can be pretty crowded if you're part of a large litter, but at least you're never completely surrounded by strangers. Most of us are hunters, but some do other things. I'm afraid I actually have so many siblings I can't remember which ones do what. And here comes one now, actually." He nodded a greeting to his brother and supplied a name for Emrey: "Mheetu. Apparently he has cubs. Mheetu, this is Emrey, his brother and his mother."

Guarin "Huh, your name kinda sounds like mine. Weird."Guaire huffed, "That's not weird there a lots of oders that have the same name. I'm bored. This is boring. I want to go home now and see my mum and daddy."Guarin "Well didn't that bird say she was going to look for your parents? Have a little patience cub." He watched as the silver cub turned his back and flopped on the floor to pout. "Why did I get stuck with babywatch." He mumbled to himself before laying on the ground. "Dang my sense of responsibility."Kanata huffed in exasperation. "You'd think finding someone from this high would be easy! Oh-" A flash of silver caught her eye and copper too! Oh this could be them!! She dove down hoping she was right.Rinji came back to his mates side and hugged her close. "They are little mini escape artists! One can only hope that Izzy with them but I think this pride wouldn't let anything happen to them." Unknown to him a red and white bird flew over head. "Alright I will follow your lead then dear."

Zorlin's nose wrinkled up. Really? That was his come-back? It was... kind of pathetic actually, but it seemed he was well aware of that. Rather than allowing the comment to fester, he instead changed gears and outright launched himself at her. Squealing, the female tumbled back in a sloppy attempt to dodge the playful lunge and blindly flailed her paws around in front of her, trying to block and bat at her brother.

He had only just managed to slip away, though he hadn't done it on purpose. He'd been bumped into by an older male, who didn't even notice the young cub. Emrys had been startled and quickly darted away from the male, careful to listen to his mother's words. 'never talk to strangers.' But now here he was, lost, among this giant mess of lions all focused on their own conversations. If he wasn't supposed to talk to strangers .. how was he ever going to get back to his family?! Maswali was in such a panic, not even the soft touch of her mate could calm her down. "Escape artists is right, i'm going to have their hides when we find them!" Her teeth were clenched in fury, but it wasn't directed at her cubs. Only at herself. "C'mon, Izzy won't be hard to spot ... lets look for her while we search!" Having finished her conversation with the friendly male from earlier, Izzy was now bouncing around from group to group. Vaguely listening to the different opinions of each, and wondering whether she should intrude and offer up her own. So far she'd chosen not to. Everyone's opinions either seemed far too similar to her own, or way to silly to bother arguing. As she walked from crowd to crowd she noticed a good number of cubs whisking back and forth unattended by their parents. Izzy merely rolled her eyes, annoyed at the lack of nannies or parents caring for their cubs.

Glancing between the unfamiliar, but no less opinionated, lioness and her avian companion Asali crinkled her nose in dismay. Whether the other was offended and whether Rin had intended to mean offense wasn't the problem, of course she couldn't quite explain why that was. But still...!
Giving up in her attempt to make the hawk feel apologetic, which that had likely been a pointless effort from the beginning knowing Rin, the pale rogue hesitated uneasily at the question. She didn't recognize this pridelander, but that didn't mean they couldn't have seen each other in passing, it was a big place. Of course, there was also the possibility that maybe the stranger had met a lioness who looked like her. One of her children here in the pride. The idea made Chai's stomach flutter with nervous butterflies. No... I... I don't think so, m-maybe.. my daughter?
Ducking her head abashedly, Chai wasn't entirely certain why her heavenly blue eyes couldn't bare to meet those of the younger lioness. I think.. she still lives here with her father and my son.
Feeling the tension begin to gather in the air around her mild-mannered companion, Rin shook out her wings. Asali'kama's first litter had been an event she hadn't been around to witness, though from everything the observant hawk had gathered it was a subject of shame for the soft-hearted rogue. Given that Chai spoke of it not at all, the reasons why remained some obscure secret and Rin never dared breach the topic. Chai often felt she had failed in most aspects of her life, her self-confidence was as fragile as a newborn gazelle. It was sometimes tedious to deal with, but perhaps forcing Chai to toughen up was the reason she had chosen this lioness over her mate and children. A choice she had never felt guilty for. There was no doubt in the self-assured hawk's mind that without her guidance and friendship, her charge would have taken her life long ago.
Turning a silently threatening glare on the other lioness from Chai's back, her looked promised misery for the pride dweller if she should decide to bare her claws in some fancy of cattiness. This one didn't look or act the sort to stoop to kicking another while they were down, despite her blunt nature, but seeing weakness in others could bring out the nasty side in some cats. Hell, in any animal.
----------------------
These two acted like they had the corner market on scandal, but an outside lioness with cubs on the inside was hardly anything new or taboo in this pride. If nothing else, males of any affiliation were nothing if notorious for being promiscuous creatures. Pridelander males were no exception. Still, the hawk had decided to make it clear that this conversation was over before it had hardly began, leaving Kiboko to roll her shoulders with earnest disinterest. She'd yet to experience motherhood, but finding herself denning with a rogue didn't horrify her as it might have some of the other stuffy, members with their noses stuck so high in the air it was amazing they didn't trip over themselves. Of course, with her own father being an outsider, maybe Kibo had reason for her nonchalant attitude. Tail flicking as she turned away from the pair to keep from being drawn too deep into their personal tragedy. Possible.. look, I don't know about you, but I came, I saw and now I'm ready to split. Nice talking to yah, mouse... wish I could say the same about your bird.
