Lena had spent all night doing nothing but baking. It had been a bit of an energy drink binge, so there was a secret stash of cupcakes that weren't her prettiest and may have been made with the 'other butter' none of them really talked about from Kess' mini fridge.
There was something for literally everyone, it seemed. Even if they were going missing every time Kess Reever stopped by for a minute.

"Lena!" If Avery had been smiling at Auroroa before, she was beaming now. The other girl had been a candidate, and was now supporting Avery! How cool was that? Lena was a sweetheart, and though the two were co-workers, Avery's employment was very part time. They hadn't spent much time together.
Maybe that should change? Practically abandoning her table, Avery belatedly grabbed a tray of cupcakes to take with her, and moved a couple spots over to sit herself at Lena's table. "I'm so glad you're here." The brunette leaned over to give the other girl a one armed squeeze.

Company! A buffer between Kess, who only had to ask to get a cupcake, and Lena who was trying valiantly to sell as many as she possibly could. "Hey Avery! I think everyone is still sweeted out from Easter. I know I was up all night baking, but they taste pretty good. Try one for me?" Returning the friendly squeeze with a snaking arm of her own, the bluenette offered the dark-skinned candidate her choice of the goods.
"I'll even put a dollar in myself, to make up for it."

"You're a monster," Avery informed the blunette in her crisp accent, laughing as she examined the cupcakes. "There are too many sweets here." Avery's were definitely a classy affair, with bright, variously colored, fluffy frosting and sugar pearl accents with several light cake flavors. Fancy cupcakes to buy and impress folks with at brunches and such. Adult cupcakes.
Or course, a majority of purchasers were children, which is why her sales seemed to be hit or miss.
Lena's, of course, looked amazing, and homey, and like they came from a girl who cooked.
"We should make a meal together sometime," the brunette plucked a white chocolate raspberry cupcake from the selection, biting into it with a small, almost indecent noise. "Yum."
