She moved swiftly to block any of the attacks that came near to Nergui, her own flesh becoming crisscrossed with wounds taken from the assailants. Her upper lip was pulled back from her teeth as she simply snarled in response, her eyes almost seeming to glow from the darkened depths that surrounded them. When the death woman fell back before she was able to land a hit, however, Shaheen felt it was probably time to follow, and began to back away herself, her wounds stinging with pain that she could no longer bare. But then suddenly, a wash of bright, warming red light, and all seemed well and whole again. Her wounds closed, her strength returning, and the Fear coursing through her stronger then ever. She narrowed her gaze, and with a beat of her wings flew forward. She would not give up this fight. Not until her body lay bleeding and broken upon the ground and could do no more. Until then, she would do her damned best to tear this enemy apart. Shortly after her attack on the shadow figure, Shaheen fell back, both to the ground and far enough away to avoid getting hit by yet more claws. "Shik?" She called out, as she searched for her comrade in arms, golden eyes searching the crowd of horsemen gathered for his familiar sight. Ah, there he was! "Shik!" She ran towards him, "Come on, lets go. I can keep it from getting you if you can just get close enough to hit it." And then because she couldn't just leave it at that. "By the way. You're still an insufferable a**." Yep. Game on. And since there were others that looked like they could use the help as well. "Let's go again, Shorty!" She called out to Tseng, her face splitting into a smile before she threw herself forward once more. Shik liked a good enemy that just didn't know when to die. It made killing them all the better in the end. he had been there the whole time, really - fending off shadowy limbs just didn't make for much conversation.
He didn't quite say thank you to Shaheen, but the brisk nod and brief gaze was more than he normally gave so . . .there was that.
