Alarms? Why one earth were alarms going off? What jackwad even decided that an alarm system was necessary? Sleepy grey eyes narrowed in frustration at what he thought was just a lucid dream, a figment brought about by being half awake and half asleep.
Then the creature bit Lex's foot, asserting that it was actually very real. Fully awoken and still annoyed at the alarm system, the tall Life trainee sprang off the mattress to deliver the people's elbow to the little shadowling.
Yes, this was a shadowling, wasn't it? Had Allan decided that setting the little things that swamped his training course free was a good idea, so that all Hunters could participate? Lex honestly wouldn't doubt it if it were the truth.
With one shadowling down, Lex took a few unnecessary seconds to ditch his pajama pants in favor of a pair of jeans. The white shirt would just have to stay, as another shadowling popped up and took an experimental bite of his bedside table.
A growl rumbled in the man's chest, and a pen was snatched off said offended table, glowing brightly for a second, and became the pistol.
<< It's about time, whelp. >> The Gryphon yawned, unphased. He knew his wielder enough to have faith that the Las Vegas raised man could handle a few shadowlings. The fact that they were gnawing away at the little he owned would only spur him further.
Instead of firing at the little blob, Lex decided to melee the everliving hell out of the offending monster. "Feels good." He muttered under his breath, getting a mental nod of approval from Regal.
Another shadowling headed to the man's closet, prompting a very urgent response. Not the clothes - never the clothes. That was where his money went - an the occasional bar trip when he was on leave - but the clothes were sacred. A shot rang out, and the little monster was gone.
All it took was a few well placed headshots, and Lex was able to put his coat and scarf on in peace before running out of the dorms, following the slew of coats emblazoned with trees, sickles, and mist towards the towns.
Finding some socks, Melvin went to his bed and sat down, putting them and pretending not to be bothered by the shadow before it turned just slightly. Once it did, Melvin rose his gun and shot again, causing the creature to startle and jump onto the dresser again and knocking over a container of fireballs. Great. Just another mess he had to clean up.
He finished putting on his socks and went to find the pair of boots he bought for combat. Who knew where this alarm was telling them to go, but considering there was a shadow in his room, it wasn't going to be good.
When is it ever good?
"It's not an alarm for cake, that's for sure."

Special Bonus: You cannot attack or defend, you can only HEAL. Your heal depends on your regular melee dice. So if you normally attack using 2d6-6, you heal for that amount. You can only heal one target at a time. If you decide not to heal and use a Fear Charge for the turn, you may do so, those behave normally, same with Artifacts, Runics, Learned Abilities, etc. Distortion and Artifacts that normally boost your attack STACK with your Heals (accordingly) - Your HP is normal, but your attack power, after all results is HALVED - Special Effect: Full Heal Your special bonus heals for double (see above on how to "heal") on any ally being protected by a Warrior skill.
Shoes tied, Melvin moved slowly, reaching out to grab his jacket and scarf from the hook on the wall. As he did, he slowly pointed his gun, but the shadowling was already either nervous or on guard. The Lifer had little idea considering it lacked anything in the way of facial features aside from the eyes. Big eyes that made it look like a bug.
He hated bugs.
He aimed again, but the creature jumped to the floor and stood there.

Putting on his scarf and jacket, he picked up a comb, fixed his hair, put on deodorant, and wished he had time to brush his teeth. Instead, he popped a Listerine strip into his mouth, and then used a Colgate Wisp and used it to brush his teeth as he knelt down and aimed again, missing.
Can you stop dolling yourself up and just focus on this thing!
I'm not going out feeling like crap.
Saliva was at least grateful that Melvin wasn't trying to slip in a quick shower.

Teeth cleaned, Melvin could now set on trying to kill this creature, and knelt down. Reaching out, he turned the container that had held the fireballs and started to pick them up, all the while looking low to aim his gun. As he did, he fired again and watched the shadow dart under his bed. At least he hit it.

When the candies were picked up, Melvin set the container back and then knelt down, knowing his floor was already pristine. He checked under the bed. "This is worse than trying to find Pepper."
Who's Pepper?
"My parent's cat." He said, though she had been a friend to him growing up.
Aiming, he noticed the thing was gone. Where did it go?

Looking around, Melvin spotted the creature near his bed. Near Allan and Springer. Alarmed, he fired - and missed.
At least it was away from the two plushies.

Stuck in a corner, Melvin took his chance and shot, managing to hit it again. "Quick little bastards." He said as it darted again. At least there was only one to deal with.
