Pride... Grief...Revenge... What did it all mean anyways? Surely these were not the marks of a truly great king... The Voice sounded again. Millie ignored the words this time. Clearly it was not addressing her, but arguing with one of the kings, but she took comfort in the noise. Not being able to even hear her own footsteps was getting maddening. The voice sounded again with promises. Why would she want to be a king? She'd make a terrible king... These empty promises were getting stale. There was no true king, no real glory. Millie sat down on a step. She couldn't hear anything other than the voice. She couldn't say anything. So she sang instead. Even if there was no sound to it, she could hear it in her head. She missed her kingdom. She missed her foolish king. She missed Jove... Were these real memories? They felt real to her. It was enough to get her to keep going.
