Lumikki nodded slowly she understood well enough what it was like. Hopping off she quickly shifted back. It only felt right to speak to him properly. Smiling her ears twitched as she smoothed the skirt out.
[Colo=indigo]"I haven't seen any reason why you shouldn't be trusted. Besides following some one blindly could end in tears. As much as I respect our commander..."
She watched him intently. Before grabbing his arm.
"Mitsu and I will help keep everyone safe."

Oh. Sinclair hadn't quite been angling to be carried. But he went along with it; if Zephyros (another name to a face) was so willing to volunteer, well, he didn't intend to stop him. He put on a good front, as he always managed, but deep down, he was still reeling; would it be so bad to let someone else take the reins for a little while?
Adopting a softer tone than the loud, clear voice he had used to address everyone, Sinclair went on, "Tell me, what exactly do you do around here?" It was important to know where everyone stood on the hierarchy.

Renatus's eyes widened in the split second that his commander went insane, then everything was shut out as he reached for his throat to try and stop the burst of pain and choking. Then, as quick as it happened, it was gone and he was left staring kind of dumbly at his commander. He withdrew his hands awkwardly, only pausing long enough to look at his palm where he could just faintly make out a strange symbol swirling on his black skin.
He was busy staring at it when an argument exploded around him. His hand immediately dropped and he sighed, immediately looking for any way to make a clean break for it. He really hated confrontation. Plus there was talk of death and coffins and he was kind of hungry..he was pretty sure he had left half a sandwich in his room earlier.
Wait, who was that?
He pulled his head out of his food daydreams and shifted it to the newcomer. From the silver kingdom? s**t, he wished he'd been paying better attention. He rocked forward a little on his feet to stare at the banged up stranger around someone's shoulder, brows drawn down and mouth pursed.
Well, that sucked.
He dropped back onto the flats of his feet and glanced around at the scattering group, trying to decide where to go and who to pester. Of course, there was the still the matter of that sandwich..
No. Somewhere in the back of Renatus' head he could hear his father complaining about his lack of motivation, so he simply stood there with one hand awkwardly pressed to the flat of his grumbling stomach. "I guess if anyone needs my help with something, I can.. do stuff." It was kind of unclear whether he was actually offering to help or not by his lack of enthusiasm, but he hadn't walked off yet, so that was probably a good sign.

He's taking slow, but steady steps forward, and moves to leave the fourth floor. This really isn't the place to keep a wounded person. This also wasn't the place to keep a person who isn't part of their kingdom. Although... Sinclair is like them now, losing their homes due to a force of destruction. And losing a sense of peace due to a certainty...
Looking down at him, tail flicking lightly, he thinks for a moment. "I was a guard upon this ship previously. When we were traveling in the stars above-- but now I am not any importance. I am worth to the king, but not of any special importance." His smile is a weak one. "But they need the weak to aide the strong, right?" He nearly says this to himself.. mumbling these words as the event to this day repeats in his mind.
"Now I just make sure there are no fights.. Thankfully there are not many.

He sighed. "Yeah, well, they ain't you," he told her with a twitch of his lips. "Then they get on me for wantin' t'fight for my own reasons, rather than the ship. How many people, after losin' an arm, after bein' in so many fights that he can't sleep without goin' back t'them, are gonna fight for somethin' like 'it's the right thing t'do'?" he asked her.
"There's this thing... it's called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder," he went on. "Where y'go into panic attacks after bein' in wars. Loud noises, large crowds--you're back right where y'were. It can push y'to kill yourself, if y'ain't careful. Knowin' this--knowin' that even AFTER y'survive a war, a part of you is still in it--do you really think altruistic bullshit like 'doing it for the common good' is enough to make me want t'go back to it?"

Instinctively, Sinclair wanted to press him for more information about those stars; galaxies and planets weren't especially well-researched, and that particular data would be incredibly valuable. Yet the sadness in his voice gave him pause. He wondered at the reason for it, and silently decided that questions of the cosmos would come later.
A darker seed of doubt bloomed behind his curiosity. Did it really matter now if he asked?
"Is it really so black and white?" His lips curled wryly. "Are people divided strictly between weak and strong? I'd like to think it's more nuanced than that."

[[ Entering! ]]
Nkosazana ran and ran until she couldn't run anymore, nearly dropping David on the ground upon arrival; really, it was nothing personal, but that man was damn heavy. Her eyes wandered over his frame for a moment before looking back up, attempting to get a look at their environment. Where had they ended up?
She glanced behind her.
Because there was no way she was going back.
If she had to guess from the environment around her, this was definitely a place she hadn't been to before. While they didn't really limit it down by any significant margin, there was something else worth noting that she picked up rather quickly. When they ran, they came out in front of a location that looked much more futuristic than where they had come, more futuristic than even what the Blue Kingdom could provide. There were lights and very smooth designs of a bright white coloring that was almost blinding. Upon further inspection, the ship in front of her was, well, a ship. It was a very large ship, at that, looking like it had floors beyond what her eyes could interpret.
"Well, White isn't too far from Silver, right?"
Her voice was weak, and it was all too obvious she didn't really mean what she was saying. They had just saw their kingdom collapse. White couldn't be further from Silver. Their clothing choices made it obvious, their mannerisms perhaps made it moreso. They had never been in a society like this before, but they would just have to try. What was going to be their story? They couldn't be honest. They couldn't let anyone know that their kingdom was suffering. It was impossible to know what people would do in response.
Of course, it wasn't a stretch for them to say they had planned on coming here in any case. They had, after all, signed up to scout this place just before everything went to hell. Nkosazana bit her lip. "Let's ... leave out the part of death and destruction," she murmured, quietly, in case they had some kind of crazy fancy finagled listening device on their ship.
Perhaps a little dumbly, she walked up to the door and knocked three times.

Text to Kat: By the dragon. Big blue. Can't miss her.
The moment she sent the text, she looked up to see Madeline standing there sort of sourly, ranting about quarantining herself. Honestly? Ami could stand by that decision. A little peace and quiet for once would have actually been appreciated, but for now she needed to tell Madeline something. Rather, confess.
"Er ... you can go in a second," she said stubbornly. "I um ... you hear Wilson right? He made me sergeant so ... I'm probably not going to ... um..." Make it out alive. Ami couldn't find that heart to say it. "So ... thank you what ... friendship we had." Her tiny body wrapped around Madeline's in a makeshift hug, with her cheek resting on Madeline's boobs unfortunately, due to how short she was. Oops.
....Wow. Woooowwww. Poke knew of flirting but Dakota? She internally bowed to his ability to request a relationship right off the bat. And...was that a innuendo? She was pretty sure it was a innuendo.
"Er, some other time." She held up her hands. "I'm well versed in combat, I should be able to manage." Although her medical knowledge could leave a lot to be desired, she wasn't about to mention this case he made some remark about his expert healing hands or something.
Though as the Drogiam looked around, she could tell there were a few crew members who were disappointed with the results. Poke could understand that, she would of been disappointed too. A wave of doubt swept over her. s**t, could she live up to the task? She had virtually stated she was good and offense and no strategy, and was given a role specializing in defense and healing. Well the best defense is a strong offense as they always say, but she wasn't exactly a doctor.
Though she didn't have time to dwell on this, as a injured person had stumbled on-board the ship. He was already being attended to by Mitsu, but she was able to hear what had happened. The news was grim.
"s**t! One's already bitten the dust..."

Frowning slightly,
"I...I never really have seen war...I...I only hope our commander is as equipped as you...that is as skilled."
Looking around the elevator she giggled slightly
} color=indigo]"funny...I thought pretty crystal urns would be fun..."
He let out a sigh, relaxing completely as the door opened. "C'mon, let's go make you somethin' pretty," he said as he stepped onto the mechanical floor and dropped the wall into a pile of material as he walked past it. He was heading for a different room, one towards the back, where they worked with the crystals. "What's your favorite plant?" he asked as he headed for the small pile of crystals in the corner. They were scraps from various projects.

Bouncing out of the elevator after the mechanic she was smiling happily,
"A flower?"
She stood there thinking about what flowers she could think of. Until she saw the crystals.
"Oh Roch! These are so pretty! Where did you find all these pretty crystals?"
Completely forgetting the original question about favorite flowers.
Wilson took a surprised step back when his PDA pinged. Was it Elliot? He pulled it out, but realized that the notice on the screen led to the front of the ship. He moved his fingers across the screen to zoom in one the two unusual specks and realized that he had received two more visitors. The garb was easy enough for the commander to recognize. More people from the silver kingdom. He tapped in a few keys into his PDA while he walked over to the intercom. “Please remain as sit as possible while I beam you up.” The intercom clicked off as he rattled off another set of passcodes until the pair were now inside the main room with the other officers and Wilson.
“And what brings you to my ship, if I may ask?” he called out to the pair as he ambled up to them.

Nkosazana couldn't help the way her eyes widened and how she jumped when she arrived on the deck, touching her chest, her front, her back, her feet... just to make sure she had arrived in tact. Having never been to the White Kingdom, she had no idea what kinds of things were possible, and to see that people could just be "beamed" from one location to another was ... bizarre at best.
At worst, she worried it didn't bring her back fully in tact. Was she missing a finger? Didn't look like it. Toe? No, those were still secure. Bag? No, that seemed in tact, too, and it certainly didn't weigh any less at her side. Not that it had weighed much in the first place. That was ... an uncomfortable reality.
Always adaptable, the Silver Kingdom-born woman settled out, letting her hands fall back to her side, though one dug its way into the bag over her shoulder. Out of it she pulled a pair of gloves, pulling them over her fingers. They felt cold. Perhaps that was just the adrenaline rushing away from her body, though, now that she was, for the moment, safe. It was impossible to tell if they would remain safe, but for the moment, they were.
David was likely still rattled. She'd give him one of the cookies from her bag later.
Once she oriented herself to the oddities of this kingdom... or the first one, anyway ... Nkosazana lifted her eyes to the King that greeted her and curtsied in a polite greeting. "We have come from the Silver Kingdom to make new bonds and trades." Honestly, that wasn't really a lie. That had certainly been what they were doing until the castle started collapsing in on itself with the miasma leaking up from the bottom in tendrils that just wouldn't stop...
But she needn't think on that, lest it show on her face.
Nkosazana was, unfortunately, dreadfully unaware of the man who had come before them who had already spoken of their plight.

Music was playing out of nowhere. A fanfare, trumpets, blasts of noise that seemed inappropriate and surreal at the same time.
And then silence. And then the scene around them shifted, darker still, until everything was stained a deep void of nothing. There was no them, they had no body, all they had was one thing calling to them. The Voice.
((OOC: Click on the image to view the cutscene! This is a NEW cutscene, the image just looks the same from the first page.))
"I am the Voice." The tone was both musical and clear at the same time, an interval that could not be reached through normal sound. It resonated in every core of their Miasma, and reminded them of their existence simply with its presence alone. Yes, they existed because of The Voice, the one who called them to fight in this world and promised everything.
"You have been chosen, Kings and Warriors." Images began flashing in their minds, too quick for them to truly comprehend. "This is my gift to you, and in return I demand Miasma." And then a glimpse of something else, something almost all kingdoms recognized. The Silver Kingdom, collapsed, in ruin, the tower crumbling, thick silver miasma curling from the base. The Kingdom had truly fallen. "To the north the fallen Tower of Silver, those few survivors who remain will fight for Kings or find themselves with the same fate." The Voice remained blank, apathetic as the image shifted to a thicker, lush setting. "To the center, the Great King's labyrinth. Miasma flowers, the King's prized possessions, lie in the center, cursed with a price."
Lastly, the image shifted to a war-ravaged area, familiar to almost all. The contamination zone. "To the East the desolate lands, corrupted by tainted Miasma, the earth itself treacherous."
With a poignant pause, everything shifted back to colourless still. Music again, odd, raucous, mocking. "The Voice calls forth the warriors, all for the glory of the true king. The Kingdom with the lowest price in Miasma will be the next to fall."
And even in the most abysmal setting, everything almost sighed in a burst of light. No, not light, existence, of their own Miasma. The Voice communicating directly to them, both chastising and commanding, encouraging and tantalizing demanded everything including who they were themselves. It was terrifying and it was absolute. Its message was entirely simple and complete. Several would turn to their King now, and their was no doubt the words in their eyes, in their expressions, in everything. They were scared, they were uncertain, and for some, they were ready. Warriors, Kings, measly peasants and shadows. It was the King's turn to decide who would fight in their Kingdom's glory.
OOC
THE KING'S GLORY:
gaia_crown[ CUTSCENE PART 2:] To view the new cutscene, please click this link, if you haven't viewed it already (see above image). The introduction image is the same, but keep on clicking it to view the whole cutscene for THIS CURRENT EVENT.
gaia_crown[ THE KING'S CHOICE:] Now, as citizens and warriors prepare themselves, Queens and Pawns and Wild Cards, the King must come to a choice. Where will they place their pieces? As the King decides, his voice carries the final authority. They are ready to fight. They have no choice but to fight.
OOC: - When a King QUOTES you, and directs your player to a location, you are now moving to that { EVENT } marked thread. You can only try in an { EVENT } thread until you pretty much die/ your HP goes to 0. When you escape or finish successfully, please mark all gained Miasma Points HERE for your team. - If you DIE in an event, you will LOSE ALL MIASMA POINTS GAINED. They cannot be transferred to another player. - These events DO have difficulty levels. If you feel like you cannot handle a high difficulty level event, make sure you contact your King, either through pms, AIM, or the OOC thread. Quote the King player if using the OOC thread. The King will try their BEST to accommodate, but please do not expect them to 100% assign you to everything you want. If they assign you to a more challenging thread, consider it a compliment that they trust your skills! - It is up to the King HOW they want to split their players. Each player in a Kingdom can only participate in one event pass or fail. They cannot return to an event pass or fail. Think CAREFULLY which ones you want to bring your characters to! - To recap: respond rp-wise to the Voice as you wish. Ultimately however, you cannot move until your King wishes for so. You can ICly express where you want to go or wait for your King's decision. You can OOCly also talk it amongst each other. Once your King is ready, they will post their choices as to where each player will go. That is when you will move to your event threads, to try and get as many MIASMA POINTS as possible. - At the end of OOC 48 hours from THIS POST ALL EVENT THREADS WILL CLOSE, complete or incomplete. I will then tally the Miasma Point thread. The Kingdom with the lowest Miasma points. WILL FALL and all its subjects fall to ruin. Once again, for the King and all the players, the options are:
