First time my boyfriend saw me dressed up, he was like, "O_O You ACT like a child, now you have to DRESS like one!?" ">_> It's lolita." "o_o;; Am I a ***** for thinking it's hot?" "No, it IS quite warm out. ^w^" "You know what I mean! D=" lol x3 I use to wear kitty tails and ears at school, but then they started, "causing a distraction." I think it's just a case of "people out to get me"-itis. XD

Hmm, not so for me Sometimes, older lady's look funny at me, but I don't care. Students around me, are familiar with lolita so they don't care. My mother bought me my first lolita dress, went with me. She loves it, and my mother sometimes dresses lolita too! She gets very many funny looks, but no one says anything bad to her. My brother jokes "You two are both children... my mother acts younger than I am!" That is mother in lolita! Me and my mommy! My mother act so young! She love many Visual Kei bands same as I!

Mostly when i am out and about is when i get stared at. (Example, the mall.) When i am at school "popular" kids act immature and make fun of me for being a "anime freak". It's sad that they don't know what Lolita is...
But with my friends and in drama i get compliments which is great. biggrin heart
My family think i'm crazy for dressing in Gothic lolita in public though. sweatdrop

I usually wear these cat ears around school (since I am yet to have any Lolita clothing v.v) so I do get stared at a lot. Luckily the teachers think they look good on me, the school librarian said they looked really cute on me and that she may even start wearing her cat ears to school (apparently she has some o.o") My friends love my cat ears too. Sadly at times people do stare and make bad comments about me but I just ignore them.
But there is this Lolita girl at my school and she wear Lolita clothes almost every day and so far I have seen no one staring at her 0.0 Which I find amazing, I mean people stare at me because I wear cat ears yet no one stares at her >,,<" But I guess that's a good thing for when I finally get some Lolita clothes and wear them at school....after I explain to my parents what Lolita is......I'm trying to avoid that conversation at the moment, they have no idea that I'm a Lolita so I'm slightly scared of telling them since they already think their daughter is crazy x3

At my last school we wore uniforms. D: I got made fun of for no apparent reason. The guys just kept coming up to me and my friends and asking if we were lesbos. I bought a cute cat collar with a big bell that looks like it's actually leather but it's not, and I was surprised because when I wore it to school NOBODY said anything. Except for this one guy, who after I wore it for a few days straight asked, "Do you wear that thing to sleep?" I thought it was funny. This year I'm starting high school, and I'm moving so I don't know anyone. At this school we don't have to wear uniforms. There's a dress code, but it's not strict. My mom started buying me all this stupid teen fashion magazines...she said, "Look through them to know what the style is these days. We're gonna have to buy you a bunch of new clothes!" Until the other day, she didn't know about Lolita and my liking of it. I told her, "Mom, I don't wanna be normal. I'm afraid of being normal. I know what I want to wear," and I showed her some pictures in my G&LB. To my surprise, she LIKED them! I showed her this one pink dress, and she says, "*gasp* I thought you didn't like pink! You like pink?! Oh, I'd love to buy you a dress like that! It's cute but it's so modern...it looks almost Victorian!" But she was in the middle of a Lifetime movie and she kept shushing me so we didn't really get to talk about it. I want to dress in sweet Lolita this year! The place I'm moving to is a small town. I'm a little nervous, but it's an island, so there's a relaxed atmosphere. I'm hoping that everyone is nice. <3 I really want to introduce Lolita to the people there! I'm thinking that for my first couple of days I'll wear casual Lolita, then if people get interested I'll start wearing some serious sweet Lolita dresses! If they make fun of me just for casual Lolita, then I won't be doing that...I don't want to be made fun of all through high school like I was middle school. But I'm not afraid of wearing it outside of school because I don't know anyone. I like when people stare at me. xD I'm so excited! Dang...I wrote a lot more than I thought I would.

If people mock you, just show them that you don't care and be confident in yourself. 90% of people will stop mocking you if you do.

It's all in how you work the fashion. If you look cool and confident in the outfit, people will not mock you. If you look timid and unsure, you'll get more attention and be pron to being mocked. It's your fashion, live it!
I think I'm a bit older than many of you, when I was in high school Lolita was barely out of the underground in Japan let alone in America. I didn't run into lolita stuff until I was in college.
I wear casual lolita when I'm at home (which is where I work from too). I do get some looks when I'm walking around the bookstores and what not, but I don't really wear really "flashy" frilly outfits since I am older. I actually have been complimented on my shoes, dresses, and skirts by random people. I do wear my "formal" lolita at anime conventions though. I dearly love it!
