Steady, if he ever manage runner he'd definitely be a steady one. Hard to detect but never quick. Briefly he wondered which would be better.

But it wasn't one of the hutch rabbits, he was sure of it. Lifting his muzzle and swinging his head back and forth, he strained against the chain in the direction of the smell...

Barking and baying at the wild rabbit, he threw his weight against his collar, choking his last bark as he strained, hearing the metal twist and pull under his heavy weight.
Wheezing, he snapped his jaws at the rabbit, throwing his weight into the chain again.

(With the roll only 2 apart, it's not an instant kill. Better run, Charcoal ;-; )
With an audible snap the chain gave way and he rushed towards the rabbit, dragging a good ten feet of metal behind him, slowing him down.
But not enough.
Reaching the terrified creature, the dog snapped his jaws at him, raking his hide with his teeth, drawing blood.
The taste sang in his mouth and he lunged again, wanting the kill.

Coal felt the teeth. He knew there would be a scar, there was no way around it. But he could avoid being dog food. Even through the pain, he dug his feet in. He had to get away.
