Dustin smiled and took the other contract and followed her inside and placed them on the table. He blinked and followed her back out, wishing her good luck.

Dustin paused when she asked her question to him. He blinked and tilted his head. He didn't know what to say. It was sudden and if it was possible, he would be overjoyed. But yes, he needed to think. "Go do your contract dear. I'll be here when you get back." He waved farewell and then turned and disappeared into the house.

He stripped the cloth off, now completely naked. He darkened the windows and then lit a few candles and settled in his chair. Another child? Sure, Dustin wanted another son. Or a daughter. But he was more concerned about Azura. What if things were complicated again and this time she died? He couldn't lose her. He sighed and then put his head in his hands.

There was a knock on the door and Dustin snarled. "I am not to be disturbed unless it is urgent." An Elite, a female one at that, strolled in. Her face went bright red as his features and she looked a the ground.

"Um...Rex. We were merely wondering where the Regina went."
"Azura went out to complete a contract."
"Is that wise sire? After what happened last time-"
"Silence!" Dustin snarled. He stood up, not caring about his appearance. He walked right up to the woman and snarled lowly, "I make the decisions, woman. Got it. I think Azura is fine. Now get your a** out of my hut and make yourself useful by not gossiping."
The woman nodded and hurried out of the hut, closing the door behind her. Dustin spat and walked to the table and looked a some reports. He would wait for his wife. That was his number one idea and priority.

She broke into a run, and it was not long before the weather started to change. She kept going, pushing herself to not stop. She had been trained for this. For the killing, and the tracking. She could do this. She struggled at first, but soon, it all came back to her with ease. And the closer that she got to the cold, the stronger she felt. In fact, when she paused in the snow, she felt better then ever. She paused, hearing the breaking of ice. She looked over at a pond, and saw a injured wolf. It looked crazy, and she knew it was her target.

She carefully stepped on the ice, but was no afraid of falling in. The ice and cold could not hurt her. She got closer to the creature and it called to her in a deathly growl, warning her. She smiled, and continued to get closer. The creature growled again and tried to lunge at her. She smiled, and easily dodged it. She could move on the ice, he couldn't. He slipped and slid around, like he was ice skating, and failing miserable. He kept lunging at her, but she kept avoid it.

She then lunged at him, shifting forms into a lion. She landed on him, and the two wrestled. She was careful to avoid letting the wolf bite her. It was crazy, he would tear her throat out if he could reach it. She dug her claws into him, and shifted forms, freezing the creature from the inside out. It scratched her, and knocked her off. She took her knife, and which it limping towards her, she plunged it into the ice, and the ice cracked, and they both were plunged into the icy waters.

At first it was a shock, but then she was okay. The wolf quickly froze, dying out. With the ice already inside of him, he was too weak to try to swim or survive. The wolf was done for. She swam to the surface, and pulled herself out of the water, and made her way off of the ice that remained and trudged through the snow, and the cold. Slowly, she dried off , thanks to the warmer weather she hit once she got closer to home.

She knew it was dark, past when she said she would be home. She quietly got back in, and saw the relief on the guards as she entered the gates. She had a few scratches but nothing serious. She could see people looking out their windows, show relief at her return. Some smiled at her, happy that their queen was finally whole again. She made her way back to her hut, and walked in.

"Sorry Im late. I did not realize he had moved so far north." She said, the ice long gone from her hair. Her knife was at her waist as usual. She smiled and walked up to her husband.

It was dark when Azzy came back. He relaxed, but did not respond to her as she apologized for being late. He was deep in thought. She was alright and she came back with nothing serious, but the faint scent of blood clung to the air. Dustin looked but and smiled slightly and then finally answered her. "It is quite alright, Azzy. I am just happy you are home and safe." He stood up, still naked and then walked to her and hugged her close and kissed her forehead. "It's good to see you happy and whole again, love." He smiled.

He meant what he said. She had been a wreck when she returned from her last contract and after she had recovered. It had been nights of fighting, arguing and screaming. But that was long gone and over. He smiled and shook the thoughts away and he smiled slightly as he let her go and strolled to his chair. "I trust everything went well?" He asked softly, beckoning her over. He had a basin and a towel near his chair and he wanted to clean her scratches.

She moved slowly over to him, taking off her clothes, letting them fall to the floor where they may. She was not ashamed to be unclothed. In fact, most shifters preferred it, and were not very shy. After all, when you shift your clothes can survive just fine, but on a hunt? Not so much. And besides, there are lots of ceremonies and times when shifters don't wear clothes. There are plenty of reasons not to be shy. And she embraced everyone one of them with pride.

Walking over to him, she was glad he was alright. Shed been a bit worried about him as well. he had seemed so ....solemn. "Have you thought anymore about what I asked you before I left? " She asked softly. It was a legitimate question. She smiled, and looked down at her scar, touching it softly. The icy waters had done her good, though it had killed the wolf. The scar was almost nonexistent. "I got to go swimming in the ice. " She said with a smile.

Dustin pulled a stool over and had her sit in it as he wiped at her scratches and dabbed at them gently. He didn't say anything right away. He was more worried about her and if she was ready to try again. Dustin sighed as memories flooded his brain and he placed a massive hand on her shoulder. "I have." he said quietly.

Dustin stood up. He paced around the table and then sighed, turning to her. "Before you speak, hear me out. I have no say in this matter. Sure, of course I want another child. Every father does. It would be good for Connor. But you, my love, You need to answer me this. Are You ready to take the risk of losing the baby? If you want to do this, I will not allow you to leave the village until your pregnancy is over." He said this with such conviction and power. He wouldn't allow Azura to go through that pain ever again. "If you wish this, stay to my terms. If not, then this discussion is over. I will not see you hurt again." He had slammed his fist on the table. His passionate side was revealed and he didn't care. All the pent up rage, hurt and uncertainty was flowing out now. "I left for weeks hunting down those bastards that stole my...our child from us. Weeks! When I came back my wife was in ruins, I had a Pride in disarray and a child who didn't know what was going on. Tell me Azzy, if it happens again, what do I tell Connor?" He was dead serious. Connor had no idea why his last sibling had disappeared. Dustin couldn't tell him. He didn't have the heart to explain that the baby had been killed. Dustin kept his eyes locked on his wife's. Grief was plain and other mixed emotions. He waited.

With a soft voice and gentle hands, she did her best to soothe her husband. She knew the risks, but she also knew the benefits. The benefits included bringing new hope to her people and giving her son a sister or brother. Someone he could protect, a great way to train the next rex. "I can do this." She said softly, looking him over. "I will adhere to your terms, but I feel like this is a good thing for you and I and also for our people. If I can do this, then they will see their regina strong. "

She wanted to give hope to her people. She kissed him, trying to keep him calm. "I can do this." She could remember it all. The arrow flying through the air and piercing her stomach. The searing pain that rocketed through her, as she had collapsed to the ground. Blood had soaked her body, and the girls had carried her back to the pride home. Shed given birth to a dead child. The miscarriage had killed her on the inside and out. Shed not even been able to keep track of the days. Shed had to leave it all to Dustin.

Even now the thought still made her cringe, but at the same time...she was calm about it in a way. "Its over. I think it would be worse to simply let that be the only memory we have of what could of been. We are always going to wonder what could have been. I think we deserve to have that life that was taken from us by force. And if you want me to say in the pride homes, then I will."

Dustin sighed as Azzy tried to soothe him. He sighed and listen, relaxing slightly as she agreed to his terms. He nodded then sat down and put his head in his hands. "If you are ready then so be it." He smiled slightly and then sighed. He kissed her back when she kissed him and waiting as he realized that she seemed to be remember those few weeks.

Azzy was right. It was over. It was in the past and it was fine. Connor was strong and if he had a younger sibling to protect, it would get him into the act of protecting those that he cared for. Dustin smiled and then nodded. "Aye. We do deserve it." He smiled and then held her close. He then whispered in her ear. "I hope you know that I'm not trying to make you a prisoner. I just don't want you hurt again. I almost lost you once. I don't want to lose you." He kissed her and then just held her in his arms.

He needed to go on that contract tomorrow. He sighed and then looked her in the eye. "I have to do that contract tomorrow." He smiled slightly. Wolves and Hawks and Swans were easy to defeat But Tigers were a whole new field. They were faster than the other breeds (except for the Lions) and here more ferocious. Dustin had fought one once and it had been close. But he won anyways. Dustin smiled. He would be fine.

She was happy that he was okay, and that they were not going to argue. They could try for another child....and in her mind, it seemed perfect. Not only because the process was really fun, but because it was healing. This was just what her pride needed, and her family. If she could do this successfully, then her son will have a better ability as a leader, and her and her husband will have the life that they lost. Now she just had to hope that everything went well. But it did make her smile, that he said he was not trying to be keep her prisoner. She smiled at him. "Sweetie. I know what a prisoner is. Just because I agree to stay here, doesnt mean I feel like a prisoner. I am still queen. I still have duties among the pride, here at home that I can attend to, like the prisoners. I am still your best asset when it comes to torture, and I promise to keep a guard with me when I visit them, if it makes you feel better."

She paused, considering that he needed to go on a contract rather soon. She agreed, that he needed to go. And she had full faith in his abilities to take care of things and come home. "And have fun on your contract. I will be here when you get back. I promised Conner a mommy and son day. "

Dustin smiled and then nodded. "I'll be back later. You two have fun." He kissed her and then slipped into his trousers and slipped his quiver and bow onto his back. He smiled and then strolled out the door.

The gates were open and Dustin left and headed north. The tiger wasn't far, Maybe a few miles north. So he ran there. He didn't shift. Dustin smiled as he sped past the trees and north towards where the Tiger was hidden. He slid to a stop and pulled the bow out and nocked and arrow and smiled, whispering,"Where are you, kitty." He looked around then heard a twig snap behind him. Dustin froze and then smiled. Found you. He whipped around, pulling the string back and coming face to face with a Tiger.

Dustin rolled and skidded to a stop and was swatted by a massive paw. Dustin sailed through the air and then flipped and landed on his feet, he brought the arrow up and then smiled, "Eat this." He smiled and loosed the arrow and it flew and sank into the Tiger's mouth and protruded out the back of it's head. Dustin smiled and pulled the arrow out and then returned it to the quiver. Dustin nodded, confirming the beast was dead by slitting its throat and then he turned and looked at the sky. Light was receding and he needed to return home. He also needed to tend to the massive gash on his face. He sighed and started running though the woods and towards home.

Dustin smiled as the village came into view. He walked through the doors, that had opened when he was sighted, and then the doors slammed shut. He smiled, the gash had clotted and would heal on it's own. As a shifter, Dustin's recovery speed was halved. So he would be mostly healed the next day. He smiled and waved away the medic who had ran over and he walked into his house.

Watching him leave, she stood up and walked to her room. Laying down she fell into a deep sleep and stayed that way for several hours. It was not until the next morning that she woke up to the sound of small feet running around the house. She stood up, and yawned, getting dressed in a brown top and skirt, no shoes. She walked out and pulled her son into a giant hug. He giggled, and smiled like he just won a prize. She walked with him outside, and they spent a while walking around. She even took him to go play with his friends. They ate , and then played some more. It was a wonderful day, and they spent it together. And after a while, she left him with his friends to go check the house.

Arriving home, it was getting late. She saw her husband and smiled, but her smile faltered seeing the gash. She went to the bucket bringing it over. She started to clean his face, and the gash, without pause. "I assume you killed the target?"

Dustin was sitting on the chair when his wife walked in. When she walked over and questioned if the target was killed, Dustin merely smiled slightly and nodded. "He was quick. Quickest I've fought but he wasn't to bright. He stayed in animal form and never shifted." He looked at her and then tilted his head to the side so she could get the gash better.

He looked at his wife as she worked on his face. She seemed happy. "How was your day with Connor?" He asked softly. Connor seemed to be oblivious to what happened in the real world. He was so cute that way. Dustin sighed and closed his eyes. People were confusing.

She smiled, happy that it had been easy for him. She was also glad he was home safe, and that they were together and nothing could make their day bad, because it was so wonderful as it was. "Conner was delightful. We got to eat together, and play outside. We sparred a bit in lion form. He kept nipping my ears. I was quite proud. And then I came back here, and let him go spend time with his little friends. One of them is a girl. " She said, hinting. She was a mother, it was her job to be a bit nosy in her boy's future. If a girl looked appealing, she could make sure the two got put in situations with each other. If they did not like each other....well, she would make sure they were kept apart or had a decisive sparring match.

Best solution ever. Kick the crap out of someone until they give up. Solves the problem rather quickly. After all, who wants to fight a crazy person? Or someone who is stronger then you are? Its what she always wondered.

[[Its okay smile ]]

He smiled and nodded. "A Bonfire is a great idea. To much sorrow we have suffered, let's have some happiness." He smiled and flicked her nose softly before laughing and shifting. His giant Lion form circled the woman before him and rubbed against her. The form was a dangerous one of course, but this was his wife. He would never harm her. He couldn't nor would he.

Dustin then shifted back and then tilted his head. Maybe he should teach her how to use another weapon. Just in case. He smiled and took her hand and pulled her outside. The sun light was obscured from the overcast and he took her behind the hut, revealing the practice hay bail that he practiced with his bow. "I am going to teach you." was all he said. He never taught anyone before and she would be the first. "Alright. Take the practice bow and place it in whatever hand you are dominant with. Then take an arrow and nock it to the string and pull back with your other hand. Line it up with the bullseye and shoot when ever you are ready. And don't forget to breath. Slow and steady." He smiled and held the practice bow out. "Just give it a try. I would like it if you were more prepared than just your dagger." He was serious. The lion form could only do so much and you were faster with striking as a human than as your were-form. Dustin used his bow and a sword. His father's to be precise. When that blade was brandished, all hell would break loose.

With a slight smile, she wondered what he was thinking about. She moved towards him a few steps, and looked him over bottom to top. She was glad he was home safe, and that the contracts were all being filled. "Our son will be staying with Lillia's family tonight. It was her birthday. " She smiled happily. Her son was almost four. It was a month or so till his birthday. Lillia had just turned three. He was almost a full year older then her. They were cute. Well, all the children are. But Lillia is a spitting image of her mother.

The girl's mother is not a hunter. She is actually a housewife. Kind of. She was a healer, until she got married, but after three kids, she just stayed home. She does a lot of cooking for the pride, and works as a school teacher as well. She teaches the younger healers how to be good at what they do.

"I think tomorrow we should have a bonfire. All of the kids can dance, and everyone can have fun and smile. I can get most of the executions done tomorrow during the day, which would make us ahead of schedule. "
