Big mistake.

Tibarn had already been moving when the thief had grabbed onto Kieran and thrown the knife, and lunged easily over toppled furniture, crossing the room in the time it would take the poor thief to grab another knife, and promptly tackled both thief and paladin to the floor-- paladin on top of thief, using the weight of Kieran and his armor to pin the poor man to the floor as he shoved himself to his feet.

"I've been blown up once already today," he rumbled, avian eyes glaring as only a hawk could, damn near burning twin holes in the thief's forehead. "You are welcome to try and kill me." He promptly stomped on the poor Thief's wrist, twisting his heel a bit. "Red... guy," he added, glancing at Kieran. "You okay?"

Ladies how about a lovely dinner?

Sain had to think fast for the slipping tiger heading his way. He nudge Homeros to move a little bit before he tried to stop Rajin. That wasn't a smart idea as they collided and they both landed on the ground. While Sain's armor was great for weapon protection, it wasn't great for collisions. The wind was knocked out of him and he probably got some bruises. He coughed a bit as he tried to regain his breath.

"Ugh," Was all he could say for a little bit as he coughed some more trying to get his breath. "It's ok."He took another breath, "At least you didn't knock over Homeros." He paused again,"Horses are a pain to try to get back on their feet if not near impossible."

Well, this was awkward.
What had started out as a normal conversation-- given the circumstances, that is-- ended with one person kissing another right in front of everyone present, and then flying off, leaving the three of them in a very uncomfortable situation. Shyirah knew next to nothing about these people, but she could tell there was some deep personal connections being toyed with here. So she couldn't help but feel uneasy.
Not that she had exactly been comfortable in the last 10 minutes or so...

Shrugging off the painful awkwardness that the situation had brought down upon her, she quickly composed herself as best she could and began her impromptu introduction.

"E-Er.. Well.. I'm Shy." she began, scratching the back of her head with one hand and fidgeting with the hem of her skirt with the other.
"Um, Shyirah, I mean. Wolf child of Hatari.."
She looked away bashfully from the pair remaining in front of her, not sure how to proceed.

"Are you certain of this, Adele?" Iris questioned as she peered up a wall in a side-alley. They had become separated from the rest of the group, and while Iris had been able to handle herself so far, she was uncertain what would happen if she was unable to catch up.

Adele growled. "We don't got time for this, sis! We gotta get up to the roof! You heard what them bandits said! They're gonna catch Amelia and the others when they're out in the open and they've got range!"

Iris nodded in assertion and focused herself, short-range teleporting herself onto a ledge, and then again onto the roof. "Let's go!" She took off running across the roofs, leaping off an edge and using her magical abilities to sustain her momentum across to land on another rooftop.

"Over there!"

Iris spun around to meet a small group of bandits who had thought they were safe upon the roofs. Iris pointed her finger at them as they approached her with weapons, and as she spoke in an elder language, dark tendrils burst forth from the ground and wrapped themselves around the bandits' bodies and legs, constricting them painfully. As Iris turned away from them, the tendrils constricted tightly, ripping through flesh and bone. The bandits' screams echoed through the air, alerting others.

"Sis!" Adele yelled. "Charge me!"

Iris nodded and Adele's body glowed with dark energy. Adele let out a fierce battle yell that only Iris could hear, and a mighty axe materialized within her hands. As the dust upon the rooftops rose and danced about, carried by the wind, Adele's form grew visible. "Kekeke!" her cackle echoed as she spun madly around, her attack slicing through body after body with little resistance. Her axe was not tangible, but the razor-sharp blades of magical wind were. Some of the men screamed in bloodcurdling agony.

Others decided to run. The smart ones decided to flee with their lives from this mysterious and quite unorthodox magician. Others were not quite so smart. "We gotta tell Lec! The plan will not-- URK!" This particular man's words were cut short as his body was enveloped by elder magic, and the magic ripped forcefully from him, taking a significant portion of his life force with it.

Iris approached him, the magic casually returning and seeping into her as she walked. "Much appreciated," she giggled. "Now, would you be polite and tell me where your boss is hiding?"

The bandit spit at her. "Oh, how rude," Iris murmured with disgust. "Adele?"

The bandit instantly found himself missing an arm as it was separated from his shoulder. He howled in agony as the socket spurted blood, and Iris took care to step out of the way. "I cannot imagine you could handle much more! Would you care to cooperate now?"

"That way!" He pointed madly with his attached arm and hand. "Go, go, go, just don't do anything else to me!"

"Your cooperation has been much appreciated. Adele?" As Iris dashed in the direction the man had pointed, out of her own view the bandit's head was very swiftly removed from him. Iris leapt across a final rooftop and yelled loudly. "Everyone watch yourselves!"

The boss of this little operation, who could be assumed to be the Lec in mention, was safely hidden from anyone viewing from the streets below by a conveniently raised corner. He had an arrow nocked and was ready to fire upon the Learanians below--

"I got this, sis!" Adele rushed past Iris, her body manifesting itself within reality as a barreling force of powerful wind, and she collided with Lec. His arrow went off in a mad direction, and he tumbled over the rooftop screaming all the while. He crashed through an awning and finally landed right in front of the others, his neck conveniently cushioning his fall.

Iris peered over the wall. "...I do think that is good enough, Adele." She leapt off the rooftop and slowly hovered her way back to the ground. "Goodness, do remind me to keep up in the future!"

Amelia sighed and rubbed a hand gently against her face, watching Shyirah fidget uncomfortably. It wasn’t every day you went through a portal to another dimension, you know. She couldn’t even imagine how disquieting it had to be to go through something other than a door, given that she had apparently appeared a fourth of the way up a tree. She nodded as Alex clarified his status, not noticing his quiet commentary nor his internal crisis. ”E-Er… well... I’m Shy. Um, Shyirah, I mean. Wolf child of Hatari.”

Amelia nodded again, rubbing a hand against her mouth and chin. ”Hatari? I haven’t actually heard that name more than a couple times, maybe something offhandedly mentioned by Tibarn once or twice… Sunil might know more, I wonder…” She frowned, sighed, and rubbed a hand against her face. ”Well, when Sunil gets back, he can help us sort this all out, and--”

She paused. ”Does anyone hear footsteps?” She frowned, drawing her lance. ”It-- no, that’s metal, not cloth…”

After Wallace was healed by the short red haired mage he picked up his axe and muttered to himself “Well then it’s time to find the wee lil’ general and ask for more orders and where my men are.” He rolled his shoulders and bounced on the balls of his feet, then he set off after Amelia with clanging steps.

Seeing Amelia with another of those cat people and some archer that Wallace didn’t know, he picked up his pace a bit. There’s movement in the alley behind her.

”Wallace!” Amelia smiled, lowering her lance. ”It was just you. Good.”

Wallace wasn’t as experienced as he was, despite his eccentricities, for nothing. Crouched low in the alleyway a ways behind Amelia, Murphy gripped a throwing knife in one hand, focusing his attention on the General with her back turned to him. Clear shot, strike back of her neck, and then she’s down, and they’re as frantic chickens released from the coop… He tightened his grip, narrowing his eyes. The archer near her was too focused on her and the strange cat-like woman near the tree to pay any attention to a dark-clothed figure deep in the shadows. He bit his lower lip for a moment, free hand clutching a little sphere in his palm, about the size of a handball, with a little clip near his thumb, before pulling the knife back.

The General walked to the side slightly, pushing her hair from her eyes. Her back still faced the alleyway. ”Did you see anything from Tarr before you came here? And are the others coming in this direction?”

Murphy threw the knife.

Wallace narrowed his eyes and snarled as he saw what the movement that he had seen was. An assassin! Coward! You won’t be killing the lass on my watch!

He broke into a run and let out a wordless yell as he knocked Amelia out of the path of the throwing knife. The knife that had been aimed at Amelia sank into his arm between the gap in his armor above his elbow. “Come on you coward!” He started to turn towards the assassin.

”So as long as-- BWUH” Amelia let out a startled cry as she crashed into the ground, wind knocked right out of her. ”Wallace, what-- What is--” She paused as she tried to sit up again once Wallace had decided to get off of her, noticing the blood dripping down his arm and his approach on the alleyway. ”Wallace--!”

Murphy bit his lower lip for a moment, taking a step back. ”Was hoping to use this for something else, but… I suppose this would be acceptable,” he murmured, grasping the little metal sphere more tightly in his hand. ”This had better work right, or Lec is going to pay for this,” Murphy added under his breath, rising to his feet. He drew his free arm around him, dragging up the kerchief around his neck over his nose and mouth, and then flicked the switch before throwing it past Wallace as he approached the mouth of the alleyway at full speed. Murphy then took a quick step to the side, behind a stack of crates.

And the sphere exploded, creating a huge billowing wave of smoke and flame around the wooden buildings that created such a narrow passageway.

Wallace!

Wallace stumbled forward due to the blast and tripped over a crate, coming down in a loud crash, “Get back here you cowardly son of a -oof!” the bald general slid a few feet as his axe clattered down the alley out of reach. Damn!

Murphy kept his back to the wall as Wallace stumbled, gritting his teeth for a moment. Smoke’s still thick, I can still get out of here without being immediately picked off, and that beast of a hawk hasn’t returned yet… He slid forward as Wallace fumbled his axe, hand moving to one of his knives at his hips. After a step up onto a nearby crate in order to get some extra leverage -- of course the man had to be the size of a Clydesdale -- Murphy grabbed the man’s bleeding arm with one hand to attempt to unsteady his balance again. He had already slipped twice, and he was surprised and focused on the loss of his weapon, and hopefully it would be enough for Murphy to twist his arm behind his back and press the blade of his knife to the bald soldier’s throat. ”That wasn’t very smart of you,” he murmured, keeping his eyes on Wallace even as he indistinctly heard Amelia yell something beyond the explosion. His ears were still ringing from the explosion; too much powder for that bit of flint and tinder that switch had sparked.

Wallace grunted as his injured arm was twisted. So this is how I die. The large general grinned, “So you were afraid to fight an old man face to face! Gwahaha! I would pity you except I have no pity for cowards such as yourself!” Then he slammed his head back into the assassin’s nose.

”My face is worth nothing, and showing it to you would be meaningless,” Murphy muttered, only able to hear Wallace so well due to proximity and the older man’s tendency to shout. He tightened his grip on Wallace’s arm and the knife, preparing to finish this when the armored general suddenly headbutted him in the face. Murphy let out a choked noise of pain and surprise, knife digging into Wallace’s neck before dragging across to the side closest to him. He looked briefly back at the alleyway entrance, where the smoke was barely beginning to clear as the small fires that had started began to catch against the buildings.

Wallace! The General was on her feet, but stumbling, head spinning. Say something!

Time to vanish. Murphy sheathed his knife and adjusted his kerchief around his face, making sure it was flush against his nose to temporarily stem the bleeding (not broken, thankfully, but definitely bruised) before fleeing out the alleyway the way he’d come in, away from Amelia. He ducked through a ruined building and then through another alleyway, emerging on the street a ways away from the General now trying to defend Shyirah and Alex, shouting in fear for a nearby soldier to get the others back now, dammit. He headed back to the clock tower, slipping through abandoned buildings as he went.

His work here was done.

"Wha? I didn't hear anything.. And besides who's this Sunil person you keep talking abou-"
Shyirah's inquiry was cut short from the sudden commotion. Unbeknownst to her, an assassin was lurking in the shadows, and the older behemoth of a man, called Wallace was just barely able to sense it in time. Shyirah let out a horrified gasp as she saw blood for the first time in many years. Though surely it would not be her last..

When Wallace ran after the attacker, Shy started after him, feeling as if she had to do something, anything, to help. She knew no one would blame her for not sensing the threat. But it was she who was the main distracting factor, wasn't it?

Just as she reached the threshold of the alleyway, an explosion sent her small frame flying backwards a few feet before tumbling to a halt. Shyirah coughed, ears ringing like crazy.
What in the world had just happened?

She struggled to bring herself to one knee, steadying herself with a fist on the ground, using her other hand to rub the dust from her eyes. Squinting, Shyirah strained to see just what exactly was going on. Amelia screamed desperately for her comrade, sending chills down Shy's spine. Not knowing whether the man was alright or not was probably killing her.

Shyirah watched as the general stumbled to her feet, and decided to do the same. But as soon as she tried, she noticed a sharp pain in her right leg.
"AGH!" Shy yelped, grasping a gaping wound located on the back of her calf. It must have happened when she had landed after the explosion. Was it shrapnel or gravel? Shyirah couldn't tell, but there was definitely some foreign material embedded into it.

She winced, tearing off one of her gloves to cover the wound with. Turning back her attention to the others, she yelled to get their attention, to try and get Amelia to fall back. She could still be in danger. They could all still be in danger.

In the time it had taken for the thief to evade Kieran's attack and then get into a suitable position to start taking hostages, they had already closed the distance enough that mere threats like that were not going to work. Tibarn used his size to tackle the red paladin and bring both him and the thief down as Sunil dove over the trio to avoid an unnecessary dogpile. He flipped before landing on the other side to place his foot firmly against the man's other arm. With this, they had themselves a prisoner of war.

Sunil looked over at the Hawk King who was standing on the other side of Kieran and the thief.

"So Tibarn, what brings you here? It hasn't been that long since you guys sent me to find Lady Isadora and the others. Did something happen?" the cat asked, making a ':3c' sort of expression with his questions.

For once in his life, Ewan was without words.

First, was the kiss that had knocked him off his a** and into a world of bewilderment and confusion, as happy as he was for her, and then the sudden attack that had occurred out of his reach. He wasn't Gerik...He was useless in a situation where he couldn't see, where a single miss-aim could set his best friend aflame. All he could do was clutch his tome as the giant of a man that he had assisted charged forward, prepared to sacrifice his all. ...And that he did, leaving Ewan without any clue what to do. All that came to the young sage was a paralyzing fear, at least for the moment. Yells to get back erupted through the air, snapping him out of his daze as he brought his staff at the ready.

"Amelia."

His hand touched her shoulder, trying to keep calm through it all, as he urged her to fall back. "We...We have a job to do. He's gone." The sage shook his head, a bitter taste in his mouth as he turned to the new arrival. "Think you can make it for now? I'll patch you up after we cover some ground out of here." His heart was beating rapidly, threatening to burst out of his chest, the sick nauseous, human feeling of fear, jealousy, confusion mixing together in a disdainful slurm of feeling in his chest. Any moment they would spill from his mouth, urging to be let out into the world, but not now. No...Now the only thing that kept his mind at the moment was the burning in his legs from the running of the last hour. Tears formed and died at his eyes, stinging and distorting his vision for a moment before being wiped away. His muscles ached, his heart ached, every single fiber of his being burned and called out for relief.

But right now he had a friend to support, and later...A comrade to mourn.

Things were moving so quickly for the Dame Knight. When the paladin heard her shout, the red-headed was able to block the thief's attack. However, the thief was able to make a quick attack before Kieran could and knocked him out.

But even taking someone as a hostage to threaten them, the thief was too late to make his words promised as Tibarn tackled both men to the ground and pinned the thief's arm while the blue cat joined in to pin the other. Isadora rushed toward the men.

When she looked down at Kieran, she could see that the paladin was unharmed from the thief. Well, knocked out cold, but still unharmed.

"Well, thank goodness he's okay," Isadora commented to herself. It would be a shame if the paladin died after just arriving to a new world so quickly.

She then turned her attention to the Hawk King. "I have to agree with the cat. What are you- YOU'VE BEEN BLOWN UP ONCE?!?!"

Isadora quickly checked Tibarn to see if he was injured while barraged him with questions. "What in St. Elimine's name happened? Are you okay? Are thee others okay? Will you be okay to move? Maybe I should have Miss Calill to check on you and heal for certain. What about Amelia? Did she and the others caught in the blast with you? I hope she and the others are okay."

Okay, she needed to calm down her mother hen's worries. This was Tibarn she was talking about. One of the strongest ally in Learania. Surely, he would be okay... Right?

"Well, glad to hear you're okay," Rajin commented as he got up. He wasn't sure what to say about horses. He had never experience with horses besides how to secure the bridle to the cargo wagon and transportation and how to attack them during battles. Maybe people trained their horses differently from what people from Tellius trained. In fact, he was surprised that he didn't manage to knock down the horse.

"Here, let me help you." Rajin spoke as he stuck out his hand to the paladin.

Once the paladin was up, Rajin looked around his surrounding. There were no bandits chasing after him. Perhaps they left to find their boss. However, it was starting to become quite... eerie. There were smokes and fires on some of the buildings, but he didn't hear any more explosions. Did the army manage to find the bombs and stop the enemies from exploding the city? The tiger wasn't sure, but he was happy that it became less. Still... He wasn't sure if Sunil and the others were okay. After all, he wasn't sure how many bombs were left hidden as well as the enemies.

"Hey, do you know what's going-"

A loud explosion was heard nearby, making his hair stood up. Rajin covered his ears, "s**t! What the hell was that?!"

Suddenly, something caught his nose. Although he still smelled the smoke, fire, and debris from the city as well as some human and decay smell lingered, there was a new scent he smelled. A fresh blood. Whose blood was it? He wasn't sure. However, he needed to check if it was Sunil or someone he knew.

"Someone's hurt," Rajin told Sain. Before Sain could say anything to the tiger, a bright light glowed in the street. Once the light faded, the tiger sprinted toward where the area once exploded. Hopefully, it was not someone he knew hurt.

Kieran struggled as the theif grabbed him, the man was smaller then the axe knight but if he didn't hurry Kieran would find a knife buried in his nec--- oh no wait Tibarn tackled him and removed the need to worry or have a Mexican standoff.

Kieran was greatly relieved by this "Hahaha!" He laughed getting to his feet "I'm perfectly fine Hawk King Sir! You don't have to worry about me! I've heard people say I'll outlive cockroaches! What a fine compliment!" he shouted over the screaming of the maimed man.

The laguz said something then, however Kieran couldn't hear him over the other fellows wailing, whatever he said didn't really matter anyways.

"I don't know what you're doing in Crimea King Tibarn, but I suppose I can wait for an explanation! We should probably deal with my would be captor first!" With that Kieran turned around, planted one foot on the floor on either side of the mans chest and squatted down sitting on the Thiefs chest while grabbing his collar and pulling him up a bit with one hand.

Fist cocked back and ready to pound his captives face if he didn't like the answer he got, Kieran smiled. "How about it? Feeling talkative?"

Wilhelm Traws

The thief was laying prone on his back, now that the fighting had stopped and the others could get a good look at him they'd be able to see a fairly average looking guy, an eye patch along with several old looking burn scars marred the right side of his face. He was cloaked in the typical black garb of a shadow guild member to help blend in the shadows, bright blue messy hair stood out clear as day now that his hood had been knocked down.

As Kieran grabbed him the man immediately began pleading. "N-Now wait 'ere just a minute folks! Aint no reason to get violent here, and there's no need ta gimme over to yer crazy cat fella either! I-I gots friends and family just like all o you so lets just talk this out nice and easy like? M-Mah names Bill! Mah friends call me Mordache Bill! Heck I never even wanted to be part o no ruddy shadow guild, I'm a new recruit! I'm just a fella what likes the sound of a nice big boom now an again!" He grinned showing rows of surprisingly white teeth. "Ah-Ah'm bleedin a bit from when you done whacked me good sir! I didn't mean to grab ya there, I was scared and not thinking straight! Please don't punch me!"

Kieran glanced back at the others, nodding at the banditon the other side of the counter that was still howling in utter agony pointedly.

Hoping someone would quiet the guy by gagging, killing or knocking him out Kieran turned back to Bill.

"Okay so that solves the question of who you are... now I guess you should tell us where the other bombs are if we think you're lying, I'm going to punch you, and trust me I punch hard why I remember the time I got into fisticuffs with---"

"N-Now hold on one cotton pickin minute here! You're gonna ask the bandits? Aw heck sir! Pardon my accent here but those guys aint knowing sheet! They're just some muscle that Drake done sent along with Tyce to make sure he don't go blowing the whole pan to hell and back.... pardon the expression probably not the best choice o words considering the circumstance.... a-anyways by now the bombs well they've all done but sploded er been disarmed by your friends... by the sound of it sploded...."

Kieran pulled his fist back.

"N-now wait just a sec mister I'm tellin tha trooth! Th-the one over there is the last one! Though it's a reeeeeel doozy, designed this one myself! Big enough of a boom to take out the market and the slums surrounding it.... err may I also mention that I managed to finish arming it before you done broke in here like a red bat out of heck! And errr the timers tickin'"

The thief glanced at the bomb.

"I'll I gots to do is stall them in time for Tyce too... NO WAIT! Ah can't think that! What if one o them is one o them fancy miand readers Ive heard about! Quick Bill! Think of something else! Banana banana apple duck! ohmanthankGodidontthinkthebirdmanbrokethestrikerwhenhetackledmetheremaybehopeyet Squash! s**t! I done mucked up and thought something important!"

Inexplicably to anyone who wasn't a mind reader Mordache Bill began to suddenly sweat a little harder.

Meanwhile the bandit Izzy shield bashed stirred a little.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 24, 2013 6:08 pm

Tibarn wandered across the room, once Kieran had the thief well in hand, and put the screaming bandit down with a sharp kick to the temple. Probably just knocked him unconscious, but at this point the bandit would likely consider death a mercy. Regardless, it made him stop screaming.

"I'm fine, Izzy, relax. Such a mother hen. Amelia got me an elixir, I'll be feeling the injuries tomorrow, but I'll be good to finish this battle." He shot her a grin, then turned back to Mordache Bill and his two aggressors.

"Sunil, a cat showed up in the port district. From Tellius. In a tree. Apparently she thinks she's a wolf," he added, running his fingers through his hair. "I figured there wouldn't be anyone better for... helping her--"

the bomb in the corner is ARMED!?

Tibarn stomped back to Mordache Bill, growling as he leaned down to haul the man up, pushing Kieran aside. He was every bit as strong as he looked and then some, apparently, his eyes narrowed to dark slits.

"How do we disarm the bomb," he whispered, wings flared.

No…

Everything happened way too fast. After a sudden blur of explosions and yelling and smoke and debris, Alex now stood with everyone else nearby the corpse of the bald general who was just lively a few seconds before. Slowly, he lowered his bow and arrow he drew out of sheer instinct when the general was first struck by the flying dagger. For now it seems whatever danger they were just in had disappeared from the scene.

Fazing out all the commotion that was going on around him, Alex slowly walked past Amelia who was shouting for nearby assistance. He approached the corpse of the general that was lying there and knelt down and double checked the pulse of Wallace. After confirming it for himself, he motioned himself to close the eyes of the general before the captain stood himself back up.

Alex didn’t know Wallace all that well, but the guy was way too boastful for him not to be noticed every now and then by him. At most, they’ve probably interacted a mere few times during this war but that was about it. However as small and short their interactions were between each other, Alex still considered him to be a buddy. He sure as hell wasn’t going to let the assassin get away with this.

Suddenly a touch on the shoulder from a soldier broke him out of his train of thought. He turned around and finally noticed the number of people around them has increased, including a sage who seemed to be consoling Amelia. He looked around one more time and back down at Wallace before he whispered something.

“...son of a *****”

The soldier who was standing near him was confused, "what did you say sir?" he asked.

Alex turned around and looked at the soldier with eyes that had suddenly seemed a lot angrier. "I said, I'm going to catch that son of a ***** who did this." he said aloud where the people in the vicinity might hear before before he started to take his first step away from the scene.

Amelia, for her part, was letting Ewan urge her back, even as she fumbled her lance back into her hands, gripping it tightly enough to turn her knuckles white under her gloves. ”We… We have a job to do. He’s gone.”

Amelia gritted her teeth, even as tears slipped soundlessly down her face. The ringing in her ears was slowly fading, with Ewan just close enough for her to hear him clearly. ”Yes. We sure do have a ********’ job to do,” she muttered. ”I’ll be fine,” she reassured him more loudly, not even bothering to wipe her face dry as she stepped away from him. ”Thank you.”

She turned to look at Alex, then, as he spoke. ”Halt!” she shouted after him, shifting her grip to give her one free hand. ”You’re staying with us. Tell your men that we’re headed to the center of town, towards the marketplace and the clock tower. We’re going to finish this ********’ mission and get out of here.

He stops walking as soon as Amelia’s words were pointed directly at him. He slowly turns around to face Amelia. “Are you telling me to not doing anything about this!?” he shouts back pointing at Wallace. Normally the sharpshooter would have complied, but the anger has really gotten to his head this time.

”I’m asking you to not go running off alone. Amelia stared hard at him, tears streaming again. ”We are sticking together, dammit. I’m not going to see you die, too, because you let your vengeance fantasies get the better of you!”

As soon as he saw the tears rolling down her face, his anger quickly began to subside. He wasn’t sure what to say except, ”What the hell is wrong with you Alex,” as he managed to calm himself down. Now slightly feeling a bit foolish for letting his feelings get over him, he was starting to fumble with words. Eventually he didn’t end up really saying anything but just gave a nod to Amelia. Still slowly regaining control of himself, remembering Amelia wanted him to gather his men, he gave the signal with a loud whistle to call them.

Amelia nodded, giving him a relieved smile. ”Thank you, Alex,” she murmured, giving him a brief one-armed squeeze in gratitude. She then let out a long, slow breath to try to calm her nerves. They had a lot to do now. She looked around for a moment, muttering something under her breath that vaguely sounded like worried questioning as to Tarr’s location before looking over at Shyirah. Her expression softened for a moment, and she placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder. ”I don’t know if you’re a fighter or not, so I don’t want to ask more of you than you can handle. If you believe you can and you want to help, by all means, fight, but you listen to me or you listen to that great big hawk fellow you were talking to before. Got that?” She squeezed her shoulder gently, offering a reassuring smile before her expression hardened again after turning away. ”Alex, you got any clue how long it’ll take the others to get here?”

”Depends on who you’re asking for,” he replied at first, “if we’re talking about my men here then…” as he trailed off with his words and looked past her, he could see his men quickly approaching them. “well my men sure disappointed. But as for the others,” he continued referring to Tibarn who went off earlier. “I hope they come back soon.”

By this time, his men had gathered around him and Amelia. “Alright, our target is the marketplace and the clock tower. Standby until we get the order to move,” he said to his men. They acknowledged the orders and dispersed for a moment in the general area. “I’ll do a quick check of the area to make sure no more assassins or enemy brigands are around the area,” he told Amelia before walking off. As he was walking away he once again was repeating the same line to himself to make sure he won't lose himself again.

No time to mourn for the dead. Keep moving, press forward, and focus on the objective.

Amelia sighed, rubbing a hand against the back of her neck. This was all getting worse and worse every minute they spent here, and they couldn't waste any more time. She cast her gaze around the open area they were still in, making sure Shyirah wasn't panicking or that nothing else was exploding when she realized that all of the screams she heard hadn't just come from where Tibarn had flown, because--

"Iris?" Amelia stared for a moment, then hurried over. "Are you-- you aren't hurt, good... here, come with us, okay? Seems like assassins are being sent out to pick off those who didn't die to the bombs. We don't want you getting targeted. Again, possibly."

Ladies how about a lovely dinner?

Sain was rather glad that Rajin was willing to help him back up. But the paladin noticed that things were a bit, quiet. He was hoping things were ok now.

Well that thought was dismissed the moment that an explosion happened. Sain covered his ears for a moment. "I thought we got rid of them all!" he yelled. Well you thought wrong there Sain.

The paladin felt some urgency then moment Rajin had mentioned that someone was hurt. He didn't question how he knew that. Sain got on Homeros and followed the tiger.

Little did he know what he was heading towards was something that would affect him, greatly.

"Isadora, you're making a pretty big deal about it. We Laguz are a lot more durable than you take us for. I'll make sure he sees an actual healer when this is over." Sunil commented, slightly amused at how much the female Paladin was worrying about Tibarn.

Though, that amused expression would quickly disappear with the Hawk King's next words.

"Sunil, a cat showed up in the port district. From Tellius. In a tree. Apparently she thinks she's a wolf,"

...What.

What?!

A chill ran down the cat's spine as he took a step back, giving Tibarn a look that was somewhere between shock and disbelief. For a brief moment, fear and Ferality flickered in his eyes. Thankfully, they were gone as quickly as they came. Reality was on hold as Sunil's mind raced, the feline breaking into a cold sweat.

A cat who thinks she's a wolf? Does that mean she's got a wolf parent and a cat parent? Does that mean she's from Hatari? Hell, maybe even grew up there! It's not possible...There's no way it's possible! I know Wolves and Cats are Beast Laguz, so it shouldn't be unlikely for them to have children together, right? I mean, I know Beorc and Laguz can have children, so it's not like it's impossible! I know I was pretty intimate with one of the Wolves, but still! Nothing should have happened that could do something like that! And yet...and yet! There is a Cat who thinks she's a Wolf! Is it possible that I'm responsible in some way?! It's pretty dangerous to go through the Desert to get to Hatari, and they'd have to cross Beorc territory to even get there in the first place! It's possible, but not impossible! I made it through, after all! Gah, I'm not ready to be a father! Nor am I ready for another to share my burden!

Internal conflict aside (which sure as hell wasn't good for his mental and psychological health), Sunil's ears twitched at the mention of an 'armed bomb' and immediately snapped out of his thoughts, if only briefly. He slowly turned to look down at the thief that Tibarn had grabbed a hold of after throwing Kieran aside.

If looks could kill, the thief would be nothing more than a splatter against the wall.

I should shelve the possibility this Cat-Wolf might be related to me for now. Fires, explosions...I don't care! I am NOT going to let there be an incident like the one at the Orphanage while I'm still indoors with the trap, especially if there's people I know with me!

"If you want to see your friends and family again with your remaining eye, thief, you will tell us how to disarm it. I'm not above putting you in a worse state than your friend." Sunil replied coldly, slowly forming a fist. "Time's ticking."
