Rolling the tiny gem between her finger and thumb, Ev stared at her small moth pin, rather... stumped. Perhaps it could be an eye? But.. moths had two eyes.. perhaps at the end of an antenna? oh but that would look quite out of place. Beside herself, she placed the gem back into her kit bag, and inspected the moth hairpin a little more intently.

Perhaps on the abdomen..? a wing? Anywhere she put it, it felt out of place, or incomplete. Picking out the emerald again, she hovered it over a few area's to eye it, a determined expression on her usually soft, and light features. Kettil seemed far too occupied with other students for her to feel comfortable to approach. After all, it was rude to interrupt.

Hel was rather engrossed in applying this gem to her ring, but the sound of a voice and the feeling of another presence sitting down beside her proved to be enough of a distraction. The reaper blinked. Oh! Company!

“Ace.” She greeted with a slight nod of her head. “Good day.” A brow rose though, at his observation, and she looked back at Mitsu with a puzzled look before looking back at the demon. “…Oh? I am afraid I am not following exactly. You mean like the cards you use in Poker?”

Lumi smiled softly at the ring as it slowly took shape before her eyes. She pulled the silver apart just enough to set the Ruby in to place. Cocking her head to the side she decided that just setting the Diamond wouldn't work she'd have to find some way to hold it down. Fidgeting with it some more she finally managed to set it the way she wanted.

Holding it up to look at it she smiled happily. It looked great, hopefully it held up and she didn't loose the precious stones.

Lumi stole a glance over at Julian, she felt horrible for putting such distance between her and the small group she had been in the day before. But she also felt bad about the whole making Julian embarrassed. She had finished her ring and was finding herself watching Julian a little closer as he seemed to look over his own necklace he had crafted.

"It..it's nice...very pretty...are you going to keep it?"

She didn't know where the question came from but she felt compelled to ask it any ways. At least today she was feeling a little more reserved and found it in her to speak much quieter then the day before. Maybe it was the quick stumbled and then the closeness to the boil that made her flush but it was easier, she thought, to sit a little further away today. At least she wouldn't blush too much...would she.

Lumi looked down at her ring as he commented about if it worked. Nodding slowly she wondered if the powers of the gems she choose would be helpful, she hadn't even really considered the powers that much except that any protection and even a little devotion would do wonders for her. Looking over at him and feeling more silly for sitting so far away she finally got up and moved closer,

"I'm going to keep it for sure. It might still be a long time before I am accepted at the academy and well,"

She looked a little sheepish and turned the ring over and over in her hands. Her tails swishing back and forth nervously, she was trying to figure out the best way to say what she was about to without making the boil nervous again. But it was kind of hard with the odd feeling she was getting again, and where was that blasted heat coming from there was something wrong with this building she thought.

"It would be nice to remember some of the...well at least one of the...uhm...yeah it would be nice to remember my time here."

Nodding slightly wondering if the poor boil would think she was a little crazy for stopping and changing her sentences midstream.

Aurian entered the classroom the next day with a spring in her step. Yesterday's task had been fun, and she'd made a new friend besides. She looked around for Morrigan as she took a seat, hoping the other ghoul would sit with her again. She wanted to see how Morrigan's armlet turned out during today's continuation.

When the instructor began explaining the day's task, Aurian stopped glancing around the room and paid attention. She grinned to know she'd been right about gems being the next stage. And such interesting things that the Death Clan could do with them, too!

Aurian wasn't sure how to choose which gems or effects she wanted. No sense getting her hopes up, she chided herself, instead waiting to see how many gems were left when they reached her (and what would be a reasonable amount to take, considering there were still more students to choose after her).

The pile of gems seemed to be running low. Aurian selected two before passing the precious stones on to the next student. She didn't mind taking a smaller number. In her hands, a small sapphire and diamond sparkled, both round and therefore suited to filling two of the curlings gaps left in her brooch.

With her gems chosen and the brooch base that she had made yesterday, Aurian set to work on completing the jewelry. Adjustments had to be made to the swirls of braided gold wire - she had guessed that gems would go there, but hadn't been able to guess at the size. The bottom swirl had several loops of wire to hold the gem in place and it was painstaking to tighten all of them, bit by tiny bit.

She kept an eye out for familiar faces - Mai, Lacie and Morrigan should all be here, she knew - glancing up every so often to check what was happening around her. But then it was easy to fall back under the spell of hard work. Aurian was determined not to embarras herself or Amityville while she was here. She needed to make a good impression (or just not a bad one), so everything took second place to classwork.

One of the gems seemed quite secure. The other... Aurian wasn't sure of. But she didn't want to fiddle too much, in case that ruined the gold wire or she lost the shape of the brooch entirely. Maybe what she had now was going to have to be good enough...
