As soon as Reiko's footsteps hit the sand in the open areas behind the main marketplace, the men who were outside were alerted to her presence and they both turned, raising up the knives they held in their hands. At the very sight of her however, the thieves relaxed their stances and a stared a bit as she approached. Her questioning voice reaching them, the one closest to her seemed a bit shocked that she spoke first and seemed to falter with his own words. Maybe he had never been spoken to a woman who looked so good before, or maybe perhaps he was simply shocked that she would approach them so casually, but eventually after she got a few steps closer, his wits returned to him and with a struggle to return his line of sight to her eyes, he held up his knife and barked back at her...

"Hey, keep back lady. It's none of your business whats going on here. Now scram before we get the boss and he wraps you up with the other one!" With that he tried to keep his composure, but for some reason he looked uneasy. Careful observation of the man would note that the grip on his knife had to be re-adjusted several times, and continually looked back behind him to see if his partner had his back. His partner was doing much the same but seemed to every now and again slip his foot backward as if he were getting ready to run, or inch away from the scene.

Noticing their unease as she approached, she made sure to slow her steps down. It was quite obvious that they didn't see her as much of a threat, but they were doing something that made them uncomfortable with her approach. There was 'another one,' as well, so backing off at this point wasn't possible. It just wouldn't do to have Shinji looking down on her for cowardice. "Wrap me up? That sounds like fun. I am terribly bored these days with everyone being so busy cleaning up the village." Reiko stepped a bit closer to them and placed her hands on her hips, giving the pair a wink whilst she waited for a response. For a moment she thought about bringing in Shinji right now to capture at least one or two of them; however, their readied stances would probably have allowed them to get away, and she didn't think that she'd played as big of a role yet.

The nervous man's grip faltered and he nearly dropped his weapon when Reiko stepped closer and suggested that he wrap her up. He looked nervously back at his partner, but the man was gone, having ducked into the shop nearby a few moments earlier. "Hey, Kensei, you blockhead, where'd you go" the man shouted over his shoulder before looking back at Reiko nervously. By this point the man was sweating, but before long his partner arrived back from the tent with a rope and a swaddle of cloth.

"We don't have time to deal with this. We'll put her with the other one and blindfold her. We can't afford to have her run off and tell others she saw us here. The boss will decide what to do with her." Gruffly, the man approached Reiko and eyed her with a bit of a smile before walking behind her. Expecting no resistance from a woman, he slipped the cloth around her eyes and then tied it so she could see nothing. Then, somewhat roughly, a few times grazing areas he didn't need to, he wrapped the rope around her waist and arms. After this was done, the voice of the nervous man spoke once again, "Walk forward" and with the command Reiko could feel herself tugged forward and led into the building nearby.

Inside, it could be heard that people were moving around, but not much else could be learned. After a few moments, Reiko would was stopped with a jerk, "Now sit down and keep that pretty little mouth of yours shut, or we'll gag you too". Since she could not see, Reiko had no way of knowing how far she had to go to sit, but there was a box right behind her, though it was likely a little lower to the ground then a normal seat that she might expect. After that, the man walked away and all that could be heard was the bustling and busy feet of unknown workers, though it wasn't necessarily near her, but off a bit. If Reiko had to guess, she would probably guess that she was in a corner, away from everyone else.

{{This post assumes that you do not resist when they tie you up and lead you inside. If you choose to resist, that's fine. I'll just pick up with their reactions as if you resisted in my next post. Otherwise, everything goes as I have written.}}

My my, what a nervous man. Reiko noted, glancing at his supposed partner as he came out with bindings. It looks like she was going to be tied up after all, with the added bonus of being blind. It was all or nothing at this point, and resisting them wouldn't get her anything besides a few bruised and battered men. They did seem shady at this point, but nothing was concrete aside from that they had one hostage. Maybe she could catch something off of one of their lips, since these two didn't seem too careful with how they spoke. She let out a bit of a sigh and let down her glasses just in time for the cloth to be bound around them, and blind her.

Then came the tying of her arms. She was now bound and blinded, just about at their mercy. It was entirely uncomfortable, especially with the liberties that the man took whilst tying her up. Hopefully she could get this over with soon. Her ears perked up as the nervous one commanded her to move forward. Obediently, Reiko moved forward, following the duo back into the building while keeping her attention on her ears. Nothing of interest besides people moving around. A few moments after she was stopped with a jerk, and told to sit down. Being unable to see, she used her foot to feel the box behind her and slowly began to sit down. It was rather low, so she had to fold her legs in order to avoid any unwanted glances.

"This is all the fun you had in mind? How boring." She remarked, attempting to stay in character.

Reiko's comment did not fall on deaf ears, but at the same time they had not reached the one she was expecting them to reach either. The man had already walked away when she made her comment and did not bother to wait for her to sit before heading back to his post. However, a response came in the way of a soft voice to her left... "He already left...". The voice was that of a young girl who sounded sweet and innocent, but sad, as if she had been defeated and captured and now had no hope. She spoke softly so as to avoid the others hearing her and she was afraid, but having someone else join her in captivity awoke her from her inward thoughts and made her rather curious.

"You're a shinobi, aren't you?... I can tell. None of the others are, well, maybe one is, it can be difficult to tell sometimes... but you definitely are. Oh, but does that mean you're here to rescue me?... sounds like you got caught though. Too bad. I wanted to go home real bad." The girls voice started out hopeful, but died away towards the end as her own line of questioning thoughts answered her and depressed her again as all hope was removed from her situation once more.

A reply did come, but not from the person that she was suspecting. Reiko turned toward the gentle voice that spoke, becoming rather aware of the other presence that was next to her. By her hushed tone, she guessed that she'd been here for awhile and knew to keep quiet around their captors. "Yes on both accounts. I'm not so incapable as to get captured by a bunch of silly looters." She struggled with her bonds for a moment to test their integrity, and came to the conclusion that they were adequately tied. Maybe it wasn't wise to talk so openly with the girl, but seeing as the men were busy and wouldn't be responding, she was going to try and lift as much information as possible. Speaking of which...

"There's a shinobi among them? Do you know what they're doing here?" Reiko whispered back. Hopefully this girl knew at least something, otherwise she probably wouldn't be getting anywhere until the bad guys were done with whatever they were doing. Having a shinobi on their side made matters a little worse, though.

The young girl was beginning to enjoy that she had someone to talk to and it was helping her forget the situation she was in which lightened her spirit. As she spoke, her voice, though still remaining soft began to sound more playful, as a child's voice does when they are enjoying a conversation. ""I said he might be a ninja. Sometimes stronger willed civilians seem like ninja, well, at least that's how I see them. But, I don't know what they are doing. They move around a lot and carry things from place to place. They keep talking about a shipment though... how they need to be ready for it."

Reiko: "We'll just bet on him being a ninja for the time being. Probably the leader of the group, then. A shipment? Do you know anything else about it?"

The little girl hummed to herself a little, as if trying to recall, then responded childishly, not realizing the importance of the question she was asked. "Nope, they just keep saying the boss will be mad if the shipment is late. Something about getting it out before anyone knows its gone.""

Reiko: "So they're part of a larger group, then. Not simple looters. Is there anything else that you know that might be useful?"

Shrugging as if Reiko could see her, the girl responded casually, as if she didn't understand what she was being asked... "I dunno... what do you want to know?"

Reiko: "How long have you been here? Do you know anything about any of the men? How did you end up here?"

Humming to herself again, the girl responded ina surprisingly light-hearted manner as she was beginning to enjoy being given so much attention when she had been alone for so long. It was clear that she was now beginning to trust Reiko, and likely would answer any question she was asked, though her child's perspective was not always easy to interpret. "Hmmmm... well, I don't know who they are, but they aren't very nice. I got lost when a building fell earlier and I couldn't find my mom. I saw them moving behind the stores and I thought they would help me find my mom, but instead they just tied me up and put a bag over my head and stuck me in here. I didn't cry though. Mommy says crying is for little girls and I'm a big girl now."

The young girl puffed out her chest, again as if Reiko could see her, but then got excited once she realized she had more she could say... "Oh, but I know lots about them... I know how big they are, where they are, how strong they are. I can guess what they are doing and where they are going. I can't tell you their names or describe their faces though."

{{For anyone wondering why I was speaking for Reiko, me and Despair just did the dialogue in chat for a few erchanges to save on posting time since our schedules don't always line up.}}

Reiko took a moment to mull over all of what the girl told her, and decided that she still hadn't gathered enough information for her to bring Shinji in. Obviously they were up to something ill if they'd taken two hostages to hide what they were doing, but what that was she still couldn't tell. Maybe they were trying to smuggle something in/out of the city? It would make sense in light of the recent events, since all the chaos distracted people from public order, and then pointed their efforts toward reconstruction. Listening to what they were doing, she turned her head towards the offending group and called out. "What are you boys doing? Sitting here isn't exactly my definition of fun."

The response to Reiko's question didn't come immediately, but after a bout of disturbed laughter from off in the distance, one of the bandits spoke up... "Shut your trap Wench!... when the boss is done loadin, he'll have some fun with you alright. Whether you'll consider it fun or not, I guess that depends on the type of person you are. I know what I'd do, and I can guarantee it wouldn't be much fun for you." The comment set off another round of laughter among the crew and Reiko and the other girl were quickly re-ignored as they went back to their work.

User Image"Fun?... what kind of game are they talking about?" the young girl asked innocently. She seemed to think about it fora bit, but then broke the silence once more, seeming to be uncomfortable with their situation now... "Well, you're a ninja aren't you... you can get us out of here and beat them right? That's what ninja do in the village. They punish the bad people. That's what you're here for right?"

Of course that was what she expected out of the them, but apparently she wasn't going to get much more information by bugging them. She was out of ideas at this point, so it was about time to call in Shinji. Before, though, she turned towards the girl's voice. "I am, but not quite. Beating up people isn't really my job, but I do know someone else for it." Reiko hoped that he was still staying true to his word, and tapped her heels on the ground. Now all that was left to do was to was wait for him to come, capture all of the guys here, and get her out of these bindings. Being blind around all of these lecherous guys was uncomfortable.

Outside building where Reiko had been taken, in the alleyway, Shinji had been crouched behind some debris as he kept his hands locked in the seal of his tremor sense ninjutsu. He was able to register most of the comings and going of the people nearby, and figured all told there were about eight people moving around. Reiko had not been one of them for sometime, which meant that in some way she had not been connected with the earth, or had simply not been moving. The plan seemed to be working, but Shinji could not help but wonder if in fact things where going as he hoped.

Patiently he waited however, trusting that she would get the job done and his patience was well rewarded. Feeling the distinct tremors of the single she would give him, Shinji immediately wove a new set of seals and descended into the earth to arrive up out of it again directly in front of Reiko. Just as he was about to unmask and untie Reiko however a sudden screech from a young girl filled the air on his arrival. His hand immediately moving to his weapon, Shini prepared for any number of men to creep around the corner of the area the hostages had been stashed in, but rather all that came from them was a annoyed yell "HEY! Keep it quiet back there!"

Several moments passed as Shinji made sure no one was coming and then finally moved once more. Removing the cloth that blinded her, Shinji freed Reiko from her bindings with a simple stroke of a kunai and then moved to do the same for the other young hostage. User Image As he moved to do so however, the girl uncannily moved away from him as if she could see him through her blindfold. It was then that Shinji realized she was quivering and had recoiled from him in fear... "Please.... don't hurt me" she whispered in a frightened voice.

Shinji stopped for a moment, unsure of what to do. He didn't understand how the girl could so clearly perceive him or why she would be so terrified of him. He would have spoken, but he didn't want to frighten her further, so he motioned to Reiko to help the girl and handed her his kunai.

A few moments passed in silence as Reiko waited, rather eager to be rid of the cloth around her eyes, and the bindings about her arms. When he did arrive, she didn't even hear Shinji come through the ground but the girl next to her was rather kind in screaming in alarm. She thought that the guys who had captured them would have come to check out what the commotion was, yet it seemed they were too busy with themselves and only offered told them to keep quiet. Not long after that light rushed into her eyes again as she was cut loose, and a sigh of relief escaped from her lips. It was nice to be able to see and move again. The box was uncomfortable.

As she got up to stretch she turned toward the girl to get a good look at her. For some reason she was quivering in fear and didn't want Shinji to 'hurt' her, which was strange. "He's not going to hurt you, he's with me." Reiko said, trying to calm her. Why the little girl was so afraid didn't really make sense to her, and it was rather odd that she was able to notice him before she did. A moment passed and she gave up, taking the offered kunai and reaching down to cut the girl loose. Afterward she turned toward Shinji, speaking low to avoid being heard. "I wasn't able to gather that much, but from what the little girl has told me they're smuggling something. I'm not sure how she knows anything, but she also said that there's a 'strong-willed individual' who I'm going to assume isn't a normal civilian."

Looking at the young girl in confusion, Shinji could do little more then c**k his head to the side and furrow his brow as he tried to figure out what was up with this little girl. He watched silently as Reiko tried to ease her mind, but as she did so, a twinge of pain struck him and made him wince. It had been a while since his bloodline had acted up since he had recovered and awoke, so this small stint of pain seemed even worse then normal. After only a second or two however, it had passed and he was able to catch the dialogue between Reiko and the young girl as well as the report she was giving him of the situation...

"A strong willed individual?... what does that mean?"
Shinji thought it over and without thinking, looked straight at the young girl and in a hushed tone asked her a question... "What do you mean strong-willed?... how do you know that?" The young girl seemed to cower once more and had a bit behind Reiko, but finding strength behind the woman, she was able to squeak out a nervous answer...

"Ittss...itss... just... that, hes stronger then the others... maybe as strong as Reiko. I just know it, I can see their auras. But they are nothing like yours... you're scary." Cowering behind Reiko again, the young girl seemed to expect an outlash from Shinji, but all he did was smile in response. "Heh... I see ... it makes perfect sense now." Turning to Reiko, Shinji whispered as low as he could to avoid being found out just yet, though honestly, he was not at all afraid in their situation after he understood the meaning of what was said earlier.

"It seems this girl can detect chakra in some way. It explains how she can know who is stronger then others and why she was so afraid of me. I tend to shock people who can see chakra and it also explains why she is afraid of me as well... my chakra is rather sinister in nature." Naturally, most of this would confuse Reiko, but Shinji didn't bother to explain himself further and instead turned to the young girl once more and smiled with a friendly girn... "Don't you worry, I'm not as mean as I look..."

With that, Shinji started to run through his warm up routine, moving his neck around and rotating his shoulders as he got ready to get down to business. No longer bothering to keep quiet, he looked at Reiko and gave her a simple command... "Keep the kid safe huh?" With that, Shinji nonchalantly rounded the corner right into plain sight of those in the room and stopped in the middle of the room just when they all looked up to see him. With nothing but shocked looks on their faces, they stared at him as if disbelieving that someone of his size and armament could simply appear in the room. "Hey fellas, what's up?
