Step two (Constructive) Remove the plant… gently. Roll 1 d6 1: You pull it out to hard and fast and- well. Not painful but your reed is now ash. (Failed) 2: You pulled it out but snapped the reed in half, making it lose some color (-1 from score) 3-4: Good job, the reed is bright and ripe with FEAR! 5: You pulled it out but snapped the reed in half, making it lose some color (-1 from score) 6: You pulled it out but it seems to have suddenly lost all color (Failed?) Frowning, Hadiyya curled her other hand around the base of the reed, and said a silent prayer to Jack that she didn't screw it up. She tugged, and the roots pulled free from the soil, scattering little bits of dirt and decaying things around her. Not that she noticed, she was far too busy staring in wonder at the still colorful length of reed in her hand. She'd done it. She'd done it! This was fabulous! "Excellent," she cooed quietly, grinning with pride as she admired the golden runes running up and down the length of her FEAR infused plant. Constructive Total: 6! Minipets Name: Beejoux

More blood! Like fingerpainting! Pickles pricked his finger with an exaggerated "Ouch!" and gave the angry face on his rock a little red nose.

Pickles looked at the Professor, whose scareon had terrifically exploded. They were told very specifically not to do that.
He looked at the rock.
He looked back at the Professor.
There was another terrific explosion. Pickles's blue hair was black with soot, and he had been knocked out of his socks halfway across the classroom. He coughed, clearing his lungs of exploded scareon.
It was totally worth it.

Oh, Jack. More bloodletting. Why had she chosen constructive alchemy, again? The heart that might have ached for all of the suffering and soon exploded scareons was too involved in other things. Taryn's worry was for herself, for her project, and for her success. Once again, she steeled herself and simply grabbed the reed and let the blood flow. Please, for all that was good in the world...

On the fourth day of class, Sparrow attempted to pull the seed free and get the blood on it without making too much of a mess.
....that really did not work too well.
Sparrow then spent the next five minutes or so attempting to mop up all of the liquid he had spilled all over the place, and by the time he was finished, his fingers seemed to be stained a rather alarming shade of red.
And there was still blood on his desk.
He sighed.
Then he reached for the pot again. He really hoped he was better at this thing, but for some reason he seemed to be having a lot of missteps...fortunately, however, he still found the subject quite fascinating and he was pleased at having attended.
Now if only he could get the blood out of his shirt, that would just be dandy.

Be gentle, be gentle... Taryn wrapped her hand around the reed and ever so gently tugged... yes, yes...! Whether it was adrenaline or sheer force, the reed suddenly snapped. No, please--!
The color it lost was not too deep, but the ghoul's heart sank, and she made a rather pained face as she tuned her head down. This had not gone perfectly. As far as she was concerned, it was a failure.

Enzo made great care for this part. He was not fond of self-mutilation, honestly, and usually hated this part of spells of this nature. Chewing his lip, he pricked his finger, carefully measuring the drops.
He had screwed up so badly on the rest he might as well try to do at least one step properly, right? Scrape by, guy, scrape by.
1-7-Huzzah! You nicked yourself and let a drop or two hit the reed/stone. Time to pull it out

Fortunately, as Sparrow went about the rest of the steps necessary for removing the plant, this went quite a lot better than the actual "putting blood onto it" thing. He reached his hands in, moving very slowly and deliberately, and pulled the plant out.
And he didn't make a mess while doing it.
This pleased Sparrow so much he nearly dropped the plant after all, but he held it carefully in his hands as though it were some sort of precious cargo. It thrummed pleasantly with FEAR.
Sparrow was quite proud of himself. And decided that this made up for the whole debacle with the blood not even ten minutes prior.

Alright, here we go. Enzo had, unfortunately, forgotten the whole concentrate your fear thing. He popped his stone free with a flourish, beaming proudly at his mission accomplished.
He frowned, eyes narrowing at the thing in his hand before tapping it a few times. With a quick glance at the other students, he tried to see what was SUPPOSED to happen... apparently something. All he got was a really sad amount of nothing.
"Alchemy's stupid anyway," He snorted, dropping it down before grumpily slouching at his desk.
He shouldn't have been surprised, considering his track record for spells-well-done. His sister would be ashamed- what sort of reaper are you?
Not that sort, okay? Okay.
For a moment, he missed his rats.

After how badly yesterday had gone Mandy had decided just to skulk about and relax for today and well, it had done her well. Now when she approached her reed for blood-letting again she actually managed to not create a mini river of blood.
...That felt like way more of an accomplishment than it should.

Today was the last day of class and today she got to see how her seed was going to turn out - or at least that's what she was assuming was going to happen. Walking into class she was indeed pleased to see the tall red and gold reeds, one of them sprouting from her pot. The scareons however..well they looked horrible and she felt a quick jab of pity for them as she took her seat. Once more she was pleased to have chosen to work with the constructive set instead of the destructive set.
Of course her quick jab of pity was far more pronounced when their instructor demonstrated what would happen if one of the destructive students messed up. She found herself hoping,..for everyone sake considering how hard that cage had hit the wall..that none of the students messed up. She glanced around her however with the intention of keeping an eye on the destructive students and possible flying cages in her vicinity however.
Turning her attention back to the instructor she paid close attention to the instructions - after all of the work she had put into it, not to mention the poor bird that had died to grow it she certainly did not want to mess up her reed.
Following the example she ran her finger carefully up the plant, wincing slightly when the edge cut it and cause a bit of bleeding.

To tell the truth, Shenny was quite nervous all the day before classes started. It was their final day, and finally they will see their results, and be either praising or cursing themselves. It was especially important for the ghoul, since in a past few days she managed to become a huge fan of Alachemy... and she has so many questions she'd only have chance to get answered, if she succeeds.
All the scareons from yesterday were almost zombified: bare bones, skin, sometimes already rotten a bit. For the first time Shenny sort of regretted she didn't choose a destructive way... but well, each of them should have their own perks. Let's see. And yeah, harvesting the Fear from the reeds sounded like a neat idea... Shenny wouldn't ever say she got enough of fear. The ghoul was quite certain of her work: she did it carefully and attentively all the way, and she tried to learn best of each Bulbuos' word. Of course, she didn't expect their instructor's approval, he didn't seem to be a person who would easily approve, and if he ever sympathizes with someone it would more than likely be irrational and unpredictable. So... Shenny wasn't expecting much. It was one of the things she'd learnt: don't you ever expect too much, and you'll never be disappointed.
However, she was expecting a lot from herself. It doesn't THAT matter what Bulbous would say, but if she can't manage to succeed in this, coming here probably was a bad idea. They had plenty of time, enough of explanation, good materials, and she also had a working brain. If that wasn't enough, and she failed... better get going, and no to think it over.
Shenny critically examined what used to be her seed. It has sprouted into a nice and elegant tall reed, and Shenny was almost sure she felt Fear pulsing inside... but that could be just her imagination.
She touched the plant, trying to feel its inner rhythm and fear; she addressed the plant a few tender words, explaining how hard did she try, and how proud she is of what a beautiful and strong plant it turned to be. She caressed the reed for a few moment, like she was calming down a dangerous animal, before she finally accurately cut her finger with the reed's edge. A single drop of her blood hit the rid. Shenny stood there for a few more moments listening to the plant, before she started to pull it out.
