Aleria tried to tie their rope, but failed. Ugh. Quote: STEP ONE: Making the knot. Roll one, 6-sided dice. 1-2: You just knotted the rope. Try again. 3-4: Success! You are free to move onto step two. 5-6: You tie the knot, but then it unravels. Try again. You only need to successfully roll this once. Keep trying again if you don't roll a 3 or 4! But once you have your knot, you may move onto step two.

After having successfully lassoing her second student, Mercy decided to push her luck and lasso someone still working on thier knot. She twirled her lasso and tossed it. it flew through the air and landed around the unsuspecting student, who was probably frustrated with their knot. She quickly apologized to the poor student as she untied them and was able to leave for the day. She was surprised by the relative quickness and ease she had with lassoing students. Maybe she could be a warrior someday. Yeah Warrior Mercy had a nice ring to it. Lassoed 3 Students (Vaith, Zurine, and Aleria)

He managed to tie the rope... but it wasn't like the horsewoman had done, it was just sort of a knot. So Julian untied it and tried again. It couldn't really be that difficult, a lot of other students had already gotten it. He was so focused on tying that he didn't notice Kettil over with some other students.

And still he messed it up. Frowning in concentration, Julian untied it, moving a little away from the rest of the students. He didn't want to get lassoed while he was still trying to get the knot right, after all.

Once Imryn had worked all the knots out of her rope that weren't supposed to be there, she gave it another go. This time it seemed to stay put once she got the knot done up, grinning a bit while giving it a few tugs to make sure it was sticking.

How could he be doing it wrong every time? No matter what he did with the chord, it always ended up not in a circle, but in just a plain knot. It wasn't like he was continuing to do the same motions over and over again. In the back of his mind, he wondered what the students on Death's island were doing right now, if it was as frustrating as this was starting to get. In truth, Julian would rather be making more strengthening jewelry, but he needed more combat practice. But tying this just seemed like banging his head against a wall.

Ah! There! He had it! Or, at least that's what Julian thought until the knot unraveled leaving him with just a loose length of rope. He was getting frustrated, that was for sure, and it wasn't helping matters. It was hard enough to try and remember what the horsewoman had done earlier to tie the lasso, being angry at his so far inability to do so himself was just adding to the difficulty. What he needed to do was calm down.
So he closed his eyes for a moment, taking a slow, deep breath as he tried to calm down and focus before trying again.

Squawking, Aleria struggled out of the lasso another student had tossed over them. "Good show!" they called, laughing, waving at them with a smile. With gusto, Aleria grinned and tossed the rope at Thackery. Quote: STEP TWO: Lassoing your Fellow Classmates It's time for some battle system practice! - Find and roll your battle dice below. - Subtract six from the result. - If the result is one or greater, you successfully lassoed your chosen target. - If the result is zero or less, you missed and must try again. - Whenever you lasso someone, please QUOTE them. For battles, always quote your opponent to "tag" them and let them know it's their turn! - Please include an RP prompt with all your posts; please refrain from posting (rolling) or (will edit). Something as simple as "Bob twirled the lasso over his head as he prepared to throw." makes a much better place holder than an OOC note. - Do not subtract HP! You are not dealing damage. BATTLE DICE: - Y1 Students: 2d6

Alamea felt the long strand of rope in her hands and stared it it, perplexed. Taking a small bite at it she frowned and moved it between her hands delicately. This was not something she was used to in the least bit and moreover the feel of the rope itself made her cringe slightly. Watching the two horsewoman go at it was like watching a predator with it's prey, though still fluid to the point of precision.
Bouncing, she nearly let out a giggle as the other fell, though swallowed it back. It was not as strict seeming as Conquest had been, but the rabbit was still unsure on if it was wise to offend your hosts, especially when they had such beasts at their call and such training under their belt.
Taking the rope in hand she swirled it in her fingers as she had seen the other do. Triumphantly she lifted it over her head to find that she had in fact tied it, but completely wrong. With a frown she took the rope and untied it using her teeth to pry it apart.
This was a lot harder than it looked from afar.

Damn. What a colossal failure. "My apologies, little canine fellow!" Peering around, the demon threw their lasso towards Julian, trying again.

Staring back to the horsewomen she went over it in her head again and slowly began to follow with her hands as it repeated. Students nearby were happily throwing their lassos at others while she hunched over her rope attempting precision. While her hands moved with dexterity her mind was elsewhere, thinking over her surroundings.
Where had her friends gone to? She had seen Fallow and had been around him for a long while before she'd gone to find a snack. That's when she'd lost him. Picking up her rope, which seemed inclined to stay together this time she gave a flashing grin and gazed over the crowd.
What better way to find her friend or make new ones than by capturing them?

Aleria cackled, fist pumping. They decided to try and get the student back that had lassoed them in the first place, so. They aimed at Mercy.

"You, my friend, are a very strange boil," said Sparrow cheerfully, giving Vaith a mock salute. "But that's all right - I think we're all strange, no matter what way we, ah, lean."
Amusement clearly laced his voice, and Sparrow was grinning as he turned to face the boil from the Isle of Famine who had pointed at him. "At least this doesn't smell rather like it's dying," he agreed, and smiled.
He glanced back over at Kettil and grinned sheepishly. "Thank you," he said, and laughed a little, shaking his head. "The knots were eluding me for quite some time, but I'm pleased I finally managed to figure it out...eventually. Would've been a tad embarrassing otherwise."
A rope lifted, landing around his shoulders, and Sparrow blinked, glancing around until he found who had thrown it. The ghoul from earlier was standing there, grinning as she moved to help him take it off.
"Nah," said Sparrow lightly, un-looping the rope and handing it back to her. "I'm fine. Your name's Aurian, isn't it? You're one of Vaith's friends - I think I've seen you around once or twice. My name's Sparrow."

Finally! He got it! Only to be lassoed by one of his classmates! Arms pinned at his sides, he looked up, struggling as he saw the... ghoul... boil... he couldn't tell what it was, but it cackled at him. He didn't know why, but he immediately didn't like this one. He hissed lowly and clacked the claws on one hand in warning for that particular classmate to learn better manners.
Warning display over and finally gotten his lasso tied, Julian got a chance to look over the crowd and find a familiar face. Catching Kettil, he gave the other boil a small grin. "Didn't know you two were going to be here."

He tried. West tried really hard not to smile as she pulled him closer. He almost succeeded. "This time," he said softly, ducking out from under Levi's rope once she had loosened it. What was... The boil looked behind him as he felt something squeeze his tail, but by the time he actually glanced down to see what it was, the tatzel's had disappeared. West turned back to face the ghoul, his face falling back into its normal faint scowl as she punched his arm and he felt another damn rope settle around his shoulders. He faced Sparrow, swinging his own lasso toward the boil's back as the reaper chatted with a group of friendly students. "Yeah, sorry," he said as he approached and tugged his rope off of the boil. He turned his back on Sparrow, making his way back over to Levi and silently crossing his arms as he looked around the room. "Wonder what this's for?" he muttered. "Ropin' everyone." The demon sighed. "Gotta go get another one." He glanced down at the ghoul for the first time since he had returned to her side. "See ya inna bit." And then he was gone, off to lasso another unsuspecting student.
