Yin thought he heard a noise from the zomboil he was trying to keep an eye on but who had decided to let himself get foolishly lifted into the air. It did not sound like a battled cry, or even full-throated moan that might have been excusable for a zombie. It sounded like he was in pain. Enraged Yin began to fight dirty, the clawed tips of his fingers slashing in to the flesh of the tentacle.
Another glance proved that Snips was on his way, and the zomboil was hanging in there. With his teeth. That...actually did not seem like such a bad idea.

Alex spat out a chunk of Kracken, then moved one hand to dig into the wounded flesh, grabbing out more gobfuls of disgustingly salty meat and hurling it to the ground below. His other hand still gripped the tentacle tight, his feet kicking the tentacle whenever he could gain enough purchase to do so
He hoped that everyone else could at least appreciate the large effort he was making here.
He also hoped Mort would have the common sense not to shock him again.

Snips is not pleased.
It crawled to Alex, managing to hang on as the tentacle thrashed another wall of the castle, risking its place to wave a claw angrily at the zomboil.

Alex was really getting into the groove of things now. The movement of the tentacle as whipped around and beat at the sand castle from time to time was still hard to manage though, so while he continued to tear a hole into the flesh of the tentacle, it was of little surprise that Alex, with his incredibly poor balance, would eventually fall...
As he tore more flesh away, using teeth and clawed fingers, the tentacle very suddenly jerked down wards, thumping against the beach and castle in a spray of sand that jarred Alex's grip loose, causing him to roll back on to the beach. He laid there, face down in the sand for a time, then with a moan, rolled himself on to his back to stare up at the sky.

Yin kept slashing away, trying to watch his teammates to make sure that they were alright but knowing that he had to do what was necessary and try to take this tentacle out.

Yin tried to scrape at the tentacle but it smashed down on the castle, dealing far more damage than Yin did to it.

That tentacle wasn't going to allow Alex to lay on the ground for long. The way it kept thrashing around, whipping off chunks of the castle, which were crumbling to the ground towards Alex, he was pretty much forced back up to his feet. His legs were shaky as he picked up a good sized chunk of sand and hurled it at the monster, though whether or not it did any good he couldn't really say.
All of their hard work, everything...it was all falling to ruin.

Mort, jittery from his attempted bolts before, managed to force himself to go check on the briefly downed undead brethren of his. He had to tug the boil's shirt to get them out of the way as the tentacle trashed out again, destroying more of the foundation. Mort, too, couldn't help but despair a little - to think, a few minutes before he had been proud of their work.
Snips, undaunted, somehow managed to stay on the tentacle; those claws looked stronger than ever before, even as its owner's eyes reeled with dizziness. The hermit crab's shell was about to come loose, but far be it the King of the Sea to be ashamed of being de-shelled in this glorious battle! It pinched at the tentacle some more.

Alex felt himself getting pulled as the tentacle came crashing down towards him, and careened off to the side. It wasn't until he was pushing himself up from the ground again that he saw that his savior was Mort.
"Thanks.." He mumbled, his whole body trembling now as he felt like he could barely stay on his feet.
Picking up one more good sized chunk of sand he hurled it at the tentacle, then sat on the ground, completely drained of energy.
He realised he hadn't really been paying much attention to Yin this entire time, far too caught up in trying not to get squished and trying to destroy the tentacle. There were piles of sand everywhere, obscuring his view and he just could not find the weremantis no matter where his gaze fell.
"Yin?" He called, feeling much too dazed to stand up, but too worried to stay down. If the weremantis didn't appear soon he was going to have to go looking for him.

"Mrrr . . . No problem." He looked worriedly on as the tentacle curled up for another push at the castle walls, building his FEAR until he could let loose an arm-length bolt. It coursed through the tentacle, and he was rewarded with a shriek - only it retaliated by slapping him against the wall, leaving a dazed zomboil imprint on the wall.

The weremantis did not appear soon, because he did not hear the zomboil. He was much too busy trying to destroy any part of the tentacle he could reach.

What was-- how was this fair?! Certainly the kraken was just as reasonable as any other monster! Couldn't they just talk to it?! Taryn gave a yelp as a giant tentacle flew down and swiped at their castle.
