The ambassador of Famine seemed thoroughly unimpressed as they went through each handed result, giving them all brief glances. "Hm.... unsatisssfactory, there are only three teamssss who have gotten the.... correct anssswers. Your sssschool secretary will make sure these winning teams receive the bonus when the time issss right, I hope for your sssake that tomorrow's efforts will not be so... lacklussster."
They were most likely annoyed at what they probably thought was a "waste of time" as they passed the jar and three winning slips to Arel, and then stepped out of the auditorium. The school secretary stared at the three papers, and then back at the expectant teams, who were obviously waiting for something. "Ah," Suddenly, all the students looked like hungry canis major, with perhaps just a little more deranged. "Winners yes, ah, winners will be announced tomorrow at the event with the bonus that they get from, winning, good-bye!"
He tried his best to run to the door, but tripped over a series of bandages wrapped around the seats, cursing, as the three pieces of paper fell out of his grasp and tumbled face-up on the floor. On it wrote three team names. Winning Groups Team Not A Witch Team Splash Attack Team Checkered Cats By the time the students got a good look at the winning names, Arel had already hastily snatched the paper back, running for all his worth as he shouted somewhere behind him. "Pickups for the event will be tomorrow!!"
A slam as the door shut behind him. OOC CONGRATS TEAMS THAT SOLVED THE PUZZLE. It looks like everyone else got attacked by strange fish that live in the Greater Colorado Ocean, turned their brilliant red hue thanks to the red clay deposits in near the ocean. For everyone wondering what sort of red herrings they got eaten up by, feel free to take a look at the SOLUTION below. - Also, your student/teams are free to post a reaction before heading back to their dorms. Tomorrow will be a big day! An in-guild announcement as well as an in thread announcement/ post will be made when the actual Trials are ready, which should be in a couple of hours or so! - As a thank you to everyone who tried, ALL TEAMS WHO TRIED AND SUBMITTED AN ANSWER WILL RECEIVE A RANDOM INKJAR BOTTLE. All WINNING teams will receive also a RANDOM RARE MINIPET. - If your team got the solution but I forgot to include you, please let me know through pms ASAP! (on this account please)!

THE PUZZLE SOLUTION PART 1: The number, as hinted when I said really loudly ON THE MINIPETS SITE actually corresponds to something many users are familiar with: the AID or pet ID of a minipet! In fact, upon trying it, the SIMPLEST way is the most common way: by finding the ID of a pet while clicking it http://www.thesporkedken.com/adopt/levelup.php?id=629428Why, that's interesting, if that isn't a famine coloured pet, I don't know what is! Finding that pet also yielded two things: the first to its profile page, the second to the battle page. Let's do the battling part first. PART 2: BATTLING Engaging in very minimal battling would yield to all people a mysterious box: The description of the box however, is what is very interesting, yielding an unusual link. Why, let's look at it! That doesn't quite make that much sense right now, let's keep it for later. PART 3: THE PROFILE. A simple image is on the profile, in fact, it is painstakingly obvious as to what it is: Every single letter of the alphabet (though occasionally repeated see: Red Herring) is on there followed by a COLOUR. Why how odd, didn't we just get an image where the colours correspond to a number. But wait, how do we know which four colours to choose?Part 4: THE MESSENGER OF FEAR For anyone familiar with the minipets site, "The Messenger of FEAR" is a custom made trophy and in fact, one would like to think, considering the only thing IN CAPS AND FOUR LETTERS ON THE TROPHY IS "FEAR" that one would indeed, USE THE WORD FEAR, the fact that it's the only clue left notwithstanding. Let's try this: I have done this format in a simple left to right, starting with the very first letter (F), going to the second available, the third available, and then the fourth. HOWEVER, due to multiple E, and R's these following combination are also aokay! 2, 6/ 8/ 5/, 3, 4/ 1 (IN ANY ORDER) If you got this far a SUPER CONGRATULATIONS. If you are still swimming in the Colorado Ocean, well, there is always a next time. Maybe next time those red, invisible fishes wont eat you alive! Nom nom nom.

Danny, like Bea, had stared at the paper she'd been handed by Arel. What were those numbers even supposed to mean? Danny was no lightbulb- she literally had no idea.
She didn't even realize that the passcode was supposed to be four numbers. She wrote down a random string of numbers that was 15 numbers long and smiled. Clearly that had to be the answer, right? Right!
Danny handed her scribble to Bea and smiled. "Okay I think that's the answer!" she said, happily. Fortunately for team ditzies, Bea and Gene had already come up with an answer and were now handing it in, so her 15 digit password didn't even matter. Why they had allowed her to be team captain was anyone's guess.
When the answers were announced, Danny frowned. Oh nooo! Their answer wasn't right? Oh well. It's not like she understood the cryptic numbers anyways. Danny's forte was fighting, not riddles!

“Everything is right as rain, Riyo.” The ghoul replied lamely. She was lying, obviously, but her tone highly suggested that she wasn’t going to say anything more on the subject.
Hel rolled her shoulders lamely as well. “There is no a** to kick right now.” Thus, there wasn’t a reason to even be at least happy. The valkyrie paused as it seemed all the slips had been handed in and the winners were announced. Oh. Her team didn’t win. Oh well. Hel didn’t really care. If they could manage to complete the trials without help…that’d be a testament to their ability…hopefully.

None of them were super confident with their answer-- and had, in the end...sort of guessed.
Good thing they submitted in time anyway, at Aymet's urging to "Just trust him!" Ashford grinned widely under his helm, scooping up Thackery to spin him around for just a moment.
"We have done an excellent job." Hard to tell if he was talking about himself or the whole group. "We must continue this trend."

Titus wasn't so concerned about paying attention to who the winners were, his attention went directly to the mopey Valkyrie. As he strolled over to his unfortunate teammate he gave her an experimental nudge.
"What's with the sour face, Kidget? Your short stature finally getting to ya?" His grin was rather playful though he was counting on Hel's quick to temper attitude. As he recalled it didn't take much to set her off.

Shehk didn't look to be pouting, but it did seem like the Ambassador for Famine seemed to be disappointed with their performance for the time being. The pricolici tapped her cheek, making a small face, but overall didn't seem to be too surprised. They expected a lot out of them, and as it stood they'd already missed the bar on things.
Unfortunate, really.
"Well, that could have been worse. I wonder what the winners will get as a perk." she pondered, looking over her group, then shooting a glance over towards Riley and Jericho's team, frowning lightly. They hadn't gotten it either, hmm?

Before Ash could put Thackery down, though, some clawed hands had picked him up in turn and spun everyone around another time, cheering. Because this was what groups did, right?
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE JUST DID REALLY BUT IT WORKED," he affirmed loudly.

Aurian squealed as their team name went up on the board. "You guys are amazing!" she told the others as she attacked them with glomps. (Vaith and Mai also got enthuastic kisses in the cheeks. Lacie and Night, she didn't know as well, so they went kiss-less for now as Aurian didn't know how they'd take her special brand of affection.) She'd done her best to help, but clue solving was not her forte, as the island adventure had shown. Thankfully it seemed she was some very smart people in her team, who'd managed to cover her. "We are gonna be awesome!" At least they were off to a good start. That boded well, right?

SIGH. Couldn’t exactly ignore him when he was right there.
Hel did nothing as she was nudged, and just glanced at Titus with a flat look before looking away. “How is the weather up there, Rudolph?” She asked, though she didn’t really care. Maybe if she’d just ignore him, he’d go back and bother Riyo or something.

It was a very good thing that Thackery's motion sickness seemed to only extend to trains and boats, because he might have really ruined their victory otherwise. When Aymet set them down, he dizzily clung to Ash, blinking away the funny little blotches at the corners of his vision. "Yeee-aaahh we're the best!" he cried, detaching himself long enough to hop up and down excitedly. "I knew we'd win! We're going to win the entire school." That wasn't really what was at stake here, but it wasn't too surprising at this point that the Cerberus was getting carried away.

Ulmuka let out a simple "SCREEE!" of excitement and then grabbed all of his teammates in a HUUUUGE HUG. Did they not want to be hugged? He didn't notice.

It was terrifying that Aymet was able to lift the both of them-- strong muscles for being made of dead flesh. Impressive.
"You will lead us all to victory," he said solemnly, nodding his helm with great resolution. "We will win whatever your very heart desires."
It was a good thing Ash had Aymet and Thackery to lighten him up. Otherwise, he'd be grave at all hours of the day.
"I hope the assistance later comes at a crucial time."

Mot was already depressed, losing made it a little worse.
For a moment, he almost considered giving in and begging for Hel's forgiveness. He just wanted things right again, wanted all this bad energy to go away. But Mot could be stubborn, and his pride still clung to the thought that Hel did him wrong.
As soon as Arel left, so did Mot.
