[Enter from Forest] Kensei calmly walked around the village center to avoid arousing suspicion. The area was a little crowded but he still had running space if things got hairy. As he continued walking, he would gently push people out of the way to make his walking a little easier. This area was almost perfect. There were multiple obstacles for Sora to trip over, and Laxus would have trouble sensing Kensei's ninja tools due to the high amount of metal in the area. As for the third member, well Kensei has yet to see him or her and doesn't know their ability yet. Maybe now would be a chance to see what it is. Kensei spotted a crowd watching street performers as he continued to walk. "That looks good" he said to himself as he bit his thumb causing it to bleed lightly. He flashed a couple of hand seals before slamming his hand on his hand wraps. "Summoning Jutsu" a puff of smoke appeared on his arm which shortly cleared revealing a hawk. "alright boy, get ready. I'm going to need you to be on a lookout for Sora and two other genin she's with. When you see them just shreik or something. Got it?" the hawk nodded and flew off around the area. It began to circle the area while looking at the ground for blonde hair. Kensei himself walked between the crowd watching the street performers and listened out for his hawk.
Tense and alert, Sora had bounded out of the forest alone. She hadn't been able to meet up with Laxus or Shikaku since she let them go ahead after meeting Yamatano. It required a trip and a fall for the girl to come to her senses and stop running frantically. She forced herself to calm down, balling up her fists in the process, and to proceed calmly from then on. She couldn't make a scene when entering the surely crowded village center. All the secrecy surrounding this mission clearly meant that it was supposed to be done without creating a commotion.
Carefully, Sora sat up and looked at the unobscured sky. A frown very unlike the serene view of clear skies formed on her face as realizations flashed through her mind, The question greatly puzzled Sora, but she forced herself to focus on the task of briskly running to the village center, a common traveling speed for the athletically fit shinobi, via the path with the most coverage from the skies. She remembered her resolve to complete the mission without questions asked, and so she resolved right now to ignore all the inconsistencies that Kensei's status as bird summoner brought to this chase and instead focus on the immediate threats one face when pitted against a bird summoner, particularly on clear days. Aerial attacks were the most obvious, but Sora could hardly walk with her eyes set straight ahead, much less when they're focused on looking at the skies. To protect herself, she could only try to put things between herself and the now dangerous sky above. It was far fro foolproof, especially since the lack of consistent cover forced Sora to become vulnerable from time to time, but it was the best the girl could think up on the fly.
With this cautious method, Sora finally reached the village center, where she was forced to slow herself to a walk in order to retain her cover. Strangely enough, as soon as she found herself surrounded by so many friendly civilians, she found herself less worried about the very problems created by having such a large amount of people in the middle of what was supposed to be a mission of some secrecy. This was a familiar environment, and the impressionable genin found herself somewhat swept into the familiarity and relaxed feel. She knew what to do. She had done it countless times before, after all; albeit for less stressful situations. Approaching a familiar old man, Sora tugged on his sleeve to politely get his attention. While her usual charismatic smile was severely lacking, she did manage a shakier version to show her aged acquaintance as she asked, "Excuse me, jii-chan? Have you seen a muscular, black-haired man? An Uchiha shinobi with green eyes? He's 20 and about thiiiiiis tall and thiiiiis wide," with the appropriate hand gestures.
Maybe it would be faster to just run around like a headless chicken looking for Kensei. Maybe either Laxus or Shikaku had a faster way of searching. Maybe Sora was missing something very important by forcing herself into mission-only blinders. Who knew? She didn't, so she could only hope that what she was doing was right. She could only trust that despite being separated, her team were doing their own thing and being productive, whether it was looking for Kensei in their own fashion or looking for her. She suspected the former, actually. Both Shikaku and Laxus seemed independent enough to act on their own. Shikaku seemed to prefer working alone and Laxus seemed to prefer giving orders rather than receiving them. She was fine with that, actually. If the three of them individually used their own strong points to find Kensei, that raised the chances of pinpointing his location. Of course, the problem after that would be how to discreetly contact the others.
"Ugh, focusing is giving me a headache..." Laxus muttered, rubbing his head. He wasn't lying, sifting through all of the pieces of metal in the immediate area was really giving him a headache. He looked over to Shikaku, rubbing hte bridge of his nose. The thing that kid was carrying was odd. Laxus knew Kumo tech was more advanced than other places, but that thing was made of so many different parts, it almost felt like a clump of metal. He shook his head, focusing on that thing hurt his head even more than sifting through the metal on the people around him. He started to ignore the sensory pull of all the metal, letting it sit on a back burner, his head immediately beginning to feel better.
The kid was farther ahead, not close enough for him to actually ask Shikaku if he could tell where Kensei might have gone. A tracking ability would have been amazing at that moment. Having a dog or something would have been invaluable. They wouldn't have even been in here if they had found Kensei in the forest, and a dog would have found him in the forest. Laxus rubbed the bridge of his nose, looking up once more. He wasn't very good at this, and without Sora to give any orders, Laxus was pretty much on Shikaku support. As much as he hated it, Shikaku was more apt to prove useful than he was in this situation. If Kensei was holding a specific piece of metal, sure Laxus could tell then, but not with all this information that was flooding him. Laxus thought about just how valuable Shikaku was as he followed the kid, targetted on that clump of metal on the kid's back, but not so hard he started to identify the different pieces. The kid had managed to slip away from Laxus twice now, and that was while carrying metal. But now combined with sight and the sensory impulse, Laxus was able to follow. Sora had better find them soon, Laxus could only play damage sponge for so long before Kensei beat through him and got to Shikaku. Shikaku had some wire, so Laxus could always use that to wrap Kensei if need be, and if he could actually catch him with it. It was probably the only thing he could do to truly protect Shikaku from Kensei.

Shikaku was quickly becoming irritated. He'd lost sight of the target due to that stranger in the forest, and as a result had only been able to make a beeline straight in the direction he had gone. Which of course meant that he wasn't able to focus on disappearing as he'd have liked to. Which meant now he had Laxus following him around like a lost little puppy. He'd tried to lose the older boy twice now, but somehow he was picking up on him again and was right back on his tail. It was probably that metal sensing ability he'd mentioned earlier, but Shikaku didn't feel like dumping his metals and exposing himself just to ditch the guy. But still, having Laxus, easily spotted wannabe badass Laxus, who Kensei reportedly knew well, and could probably pick out of a crowd in an instant, right behind him no matter where he went, was going to blow his cover, and completely mangle any tactic he could think of for tracking down Kensei.
Making one last ditch effort to lose the annoying tail, Shikaku ducked into a crowd of ninja, who were crowded around a large weapons display. That would hopefully scramble the metal sensing well enough. Kicking off as he reached the other end of the crowd, Shikaku darted at full speed into another crowd, and then another, moving deeper into the market until, looking back, he could see that Laxus was no longer following him.
Satisfied, for now, he pulled the crossbow off his back, folding in it's arms and then, having no other place to put it, hanging it up again. That would at least make him a bit harder to identify on sight, and hopefully look less of a threat too, without the obvious large weapon. Hoping that Laxus wouldn't spot him and immediately come running, Shikaku bought a cotton candy cone from a nearby vendor, before climbing on top of another stand nearby, to sit and appear for all the world like he was just enjoying his cotton candy.
What he was really enjoying though, was the view. Moving his head as little as possible, except when loud noises in various areas permitted him to look that way without seeming as if he was searching, his eyes darted all over the market square. This was the best place to hide on the way to the gates, and unfortunately he'd been unable to pick up Kensei's trail on the way in. He had the training, but quite simply he wasn't used to tracking by scent, and wasn't sure he wanted to be either. He hadn't heard Kensei's voice either, and it was unlikely the man would be talking anyways, so tracking that wouldn't do either. Since he was unlikely to taste a trail, that left his best trait. His eyes.
Focusing intently his eyes cut through every clump of people he could find, searching for the man he'd briefly seen in the forest, and in his file. Breezing past the stalls and moving on without a glimpse of him, he moved on to the more open areas, before finally getting his first hint. Black hair and a flash of green eyes appeared, and then vanished again in the crowd around a bunch of street performers. Watching for a few more seconds, Shikaku waited for another glimpse, but to no avail. He'd have to get closer.
Hopping down from his perch, the boy slowly made his way over to the performers, not taking his eyes off the area he thought he'd seen the man in for more than a second at a time, all the while lazily continuing to eat his candy. As far as he knew, Kensei had no reason to believe he was part of the team chasing him, heck they had only been in the same room the one time, so he felt at least a little secure in his tactic as he pushed his way into the crowd, moving in far enough to appear as if he was watching the performers, while actually keeping an eye out for movement from the man he believed to be Kensei.
Focus: An espionage specialist spends a great deal of time learning how to shut out all unnecessary thoughts or sensory stimuli in order to focus on achieving one goal. This means that by disregarding four other senses, the espionage specialist can accomplish feats such as eavesdropping in a crowded marketplace, or keeping track of an individual in the busiest of streets, to even following a distinct scent to its origin through a flower shop. However, to accomplish such a feat the other four senses are dulled because of such extreme dedication to the one. (Able to enhance a single sense, gaining +1 Perception and +½ Reaction Speed as related to that sense. -1 Perception and -½ Reaction Speed to all other senses.)

Kensei would occasionally look around to make sure Sora and Laxus was near. Being on ground level with what seemed to be the majority of the village wasn't help the situation at all. All he could rely on was his hawk which was flying around the village center. Kensei continued to look at the street performers with a little amazement. This was actually the first time he's seen anybody dance to any of Killer B's songs. This is....different he thought as he continued to watch. He was prepared to walk away until the sound of his hawk shrieking caught his attention. oh thank god Hearing his hawk was a good sign. Sure he was being chased, but at least now he didn't have to listen to anymore Killer B. He looked towards the direction of the bird and watched it circle around a small spot. Kensei looked down only to see Sora talking to an old man. He began to gently push his was through the crowd to avoid causing a scene and to get away from the "music".
The old man readily gave the polite blonde the answer she seeked, pointing towards a crowd of people that he had seen a man of Sora's description go into. A piercing shriek from above travelled through the bumbled chatter of the strangers surrounding Sora as she turned in the direction that her acquaintance had given her. Her previous fear coming to mind, Sora's head jerked up at the sound, quickly resulting in the crashing of the girl's small frame into the back of a faceless someone in the crowd. Not literally faceless, of course. It was jut that Sora didn't get a chance to see the face of the person in her rush to dart atop a roof as discreetly as possible. The entire jumping to the roof process could hardly be disguised, but Sora hoped that Kensei would be rushing his retreat too much to bother looking behind him. That would be all she needed because she planned to chase after him via roof the moment she caught vision of him.
The realization that created this sudden change of plans to completely exposing herself had struck immediately after the shriek. That the summon wasn't attacking quickly came to the girl, simultaneously followed by the thoughts, . Whatever the reason, it was clear that the bird, at the very least, was meant to warn Kensei, the call from before was confirmation enough, and only that at the moment. Sora was going to take advantage of that rather convenient decision.
A scan, little more than a very quick turn of her head, from the raised elevation quickly gave everything Sora needed. Convenient but also, Sora couldn't help thinking somewhere in the back of her mind, expected. Shikaku came up in Sora's rushed panoramic view right before she saw Kensei's retreating back. The wimpy team leader didn't get a clear view of Laxus, but she wasn't too surprised. Worried? Yeah. She was kind of hoping Shikaku would let Laxus follow him, but she couldn't blame him for ditching the rather large genin. Now, she could only hope he was within hearing distance.
As she planned, Sora chased down Kensei's form the moment her eyes locked down on him, managing a smooth first dash without holding back a single drop of her speed. Her hands performed a very short series of seals, ready to be released the moment his eyes were on her. She didn't think in the slightest that she was faster than him. The two had never raced, but Sora's respect for Kensei's chuunin rank had her believe that he was more physically fit than her even with her abnormal speed. What she was relying on was that the small advantage coming from her position on the roof and above the crowd would be enough for her to shoot past Kensei. If that wasn't enough, then hopefully he would look in her direction and allow Sora to blind him with the Flickering Light technique she had just prepared. Either way, if she could take the lead, Sora would then turn around on him, landing in front of him to block his path and cause him to be unknowingly be sandwiched between her and Shikaku and Laxus.

"Probably wasn't the best idea leaving the guy who's only lived in the village less than a year to find someone on their own..." Laxus said, lifting his arms and folding them behind his back. The fact he was despised aside, he could tell he was starting to change slightly. He was still hell bent on climbing to the top of the village, but he didn't feel the need to squish everything in his path to do so, unlike how he had felt the last time he tried to take something over. It was kinda funny, his feelings were similar, yet he wanted to obtain the title legitimately instead of staging a coup.
Suddenly a cry rang out in the air, and Laxus peered up into the sky to see a hawk floating on the wind currents. "Is that thing supposed to be here? Oh, is it someone's pet?" He wondered, looking at it while he thought. Suddenly he felt someone run into him. Stumbling forward a bit, Laxus turned around with a clenched fist and an angry expression just to see a little girl jump up onto the roof of the building he was beside. Funny, she looked familiar. Blonde hair, white shirt with a little sailor scarf thing. Ribbon in her... Realization hit Laxus like a freight train, the little girl was Sora. Laxus watched as she stopped and peered at the hawk, then scanned a nearby crowd.
Laxus pushed his way to the crowd she was scanning and before he even made it to the crowdput his hand on his head, squeezing the bridge of his nose. 'Owww... What the heck is giving me such a headache?' He thought to himself looking up, and through a gap in the people in front of him, he saw a little white haired boy... Standing there... eating... cotton candy. 'That Little runt! He ditched me just so he could get some candy!?!?!? Seriously, he is still a child, but given the fact he has proven himself to be mostly stealthy, you'd think he'd be more.. Oh, I don't know... mature?' He thought to himself, forcing himself to faze all of the bits and bobbles of metal in Shikaku's stupid bow thingy out of his mind. The vein on his forehead began to bulge at the thought of Shikaku leaving him behind simply so he could get some freaking candy fluff.
He turned slightly, taking his hand from his head and breathing a sigh of relief before catching the side of kensei's face from further in the crowd. He seemed to have just left the group Shikaku was in, but Laxus didn't really care about that. He started to move his hands together, but then remembered that if he messed up that He'd more than likely be fired. 'I'll just keep close, and hopefully I'll be able to get him if Sora or the baby can get his undivided attention.' He thought to himself, momentarily forgetting he wasn't exactly the stealthiest person there.
[Bleh, I'm not entirely happy with the post, but I can't really think of much else Laxus could really do, short of using the Swift Earth and knocking Kensei over, along with several villagers.]

Shikaku had to fight hard to keep a straight face as he heard the lyrics to the song of the performer. He didn't know what a hippopotamus and octopus were doing in a song together, and certainly didn't want to know what the fork was for. Deciding on the spot that he didn't want to hear it, he kept his focus on his eyesight, reveling in the dulling of his hearing. 'Oh thank God...' he thought, unknowingly echoing Kensei as the man moved to leave the group. Shikaku shadowed him, keeping behind clumps of civilians as he watched him move.
Unfortunately, as his gaze flickered ahead to see where the man was headed, his eyes widened in worry. He could see Sora moving, headed up to the rooftops by the looks, and nearby, Laxus just standing there. If Kensei hadn't spotted them yet, he would soon. Not knowing of Sora's plan, he felt that was certainly a bad thing.
Running up to the man directly, he slathered his best look of pure childish innocence across his face, tinted with excitement and glee, and, moving to where if the man gave him his attention, he would be facing away from both genin, pulled on Kensei's sleeve, hoping beyond hope that this wasn't the worst mistake of his very short career, and life. "Hey, hey, Niisan!" he called, attempting to pull the man's attention to him. "You're a jounin, right? You must be, you look like a jounin. Can you teach me some cool jutsu?" he begged, laying on the man with eyes full of hope and wonder, typical of a number of fresh genin he'd seen wandering around before as they sought out a new teacher. Now, it was just time to see if he took the bait, and tuned his back to the other two genin.
Kensei continued to walk away towards the gates until he felt a tug on his jacket. Looked down only to see the genin from the raikage's office. Why would this kid show up at a time like this? How did he even spot him from inside the crowd? Just so many questions Kensei wanted answer, but now wasn't the time. Kensei just inspected the boy as he made a childish face towards the Chūnin. He didn't have that kunai launcher before did he? Kensei thought as he continued looking. He's also covered in dirt and grass stains. Kensei stood quietly for a moment trying to think of an excuse, until he remembered details about his mission. Sora, Laxus, and a recent graduate. This kid is asking me to show him some jutsu. Well you're taking a gamble Kensei, but you have to get out of the area. Kensei began forming a handseal "Sure I'll show you a jutsu. I'm pretty sure you know the transformation jutsu. You look like you'd be pretty good at it." Kensei said as he stooped down to the genin's level. "This one is called the 'Drunken Sight Technique', you'll find out why in a second." Kensei said in a cheeky tone. He began releasing his chakra shortly after saying the technique.

"Woah!" Shikaku reeled backwards as Kensei suddenly split into two, followed by the entire world. His vision automatically tried to compensate and bring everything back into focus, fighting against the genjutsu, but instead of forcing it back into one view his view of both sharpened, overloading his vision with far too much information at once. "Owww." the boy moaned, stepping backwards and closing his eyes tightly, switching his focus to his hearing to help dull his vision, and the sudden headache resulting from it.
"Can you turn it off Niisan? It hurts!" he whined, bringing his hands together to cover his eyes with his palms. Even as he did this, he searched about with his hearing, quickly focusing in on the man's breathing. It wouldn't do to lose track of him just because he couldn't see, and lose the advantage. With that in mind, he slipped the middle finger of his left hand, hidden as it was through the ring he had made earlier in his razor wire, ready to use it if he needed to defend himself or strike out if it became necessary. Hopefully though the others would strike soon though, because if Kensei wasn't just playing a trick on a random genin and this was a real attack, he was likely screwed.
Been almost a week, and Shikaku is the only one in direct contact anyways so I'm going ahead and posting his reaction. I don't wanna be silly and try to finish this on my own though, so, yeah.
Shikaku's sudden distraction unrailed Sora's mind for a moment, but just a moment. She quickly adapted, just as she always picked herself up in a flash after having fallen. Running along the roof, Sora streaked past Kensei before sharply turning. Both her hands were still occupied with holding the hand signs for her prepared jutsu, leaving her hands occupied and center of balance small.
Not to mention, she had gone far too long without tripping. As she tried to shout a fake warning tinged with a very real worry for Shikaku's safety, "Get away fro-" Sora slipped as she tried to make the 90 degree turn that would have vaulted herself down to the ground and on the side of Kensei directly opposite of Shikaku. She didn't even get to vault off. Instead, she just fell and rolled down the roof. Panicking, Sora released her jutsu as she felt her body tumble off the roof into mid-air even though her mind told her to hold the jutsu until she could use it knowingly. The young girl was too scared of falling and cracking her head open to keep her hands clasped together and useless.
The bright flash particular to the Yurayura Ranpu no Jutsu emitted from Sora's entire body as she fell to the ground mid-tumble. Hands were moved up to cover her head as soon as she had released the jutsu. Hopefully, even though she couldn't take advantage of it, her jutsu had distracted Kensei enough for another team member to. Even better, maybe he was stunned, but that was probably wishing for too much.

In a perfect world of theory, which is what Sora first thinks of and can only think of in such a short span of time, she would have been able to stun Kensei and then launch an attack.》

Laxus stood there, his brow furrowed as Shikaku walked up to Kensei and started talking to him. What was the kid doing? He watched for a short while, up until Kensei used some sort of technique on the kid. 'What is he...' Laxus thought to himself. Seeing Shikaku step back, Laxus became... angry? He could see the area behind Kensei well, well enough that he had an idea. Kensei wouldn't be able to resist targetting Laxus over the child, so here went nothing. "Earth Military Movement." Laxus said, stringing some hand signs together as he seemed to fall directly into the earth. He went under just as Sora, whom Laxus had momentarily forgotten about, decided to roll off of the roof and release her technique.
Laxus rose from the earth directly behind Kensei without even the knowledge that Sora had released a technique, or that everyone else besides Shikaku would have been more than likely blinded by it. "Don't move a muscle." He said bringing a kunai out of his pouch. He wasn't entirely certain he could take Kensei, but he had an advantage.

Maybe he just is a regular genin. I guess it would hurt to break the jutsu. Kensei hesitantly formed the tiger seal with his hands and sighed deeply. "K-" he was shortly cut off by the sound of Sora hitting the ground. He looked at her with his left eyebrow raised. Oooookay? Wait, why is she bli-. Maybe this kid really is a distraction. Right on que Laxus popped out of the earth directly behind Kensei with a kunai in his hand. Not pointed at the Chūnin, he was just holding it. Kensei rolled his eyes as he heard Laxus make the threat. Luckily Kensei continued to hold the tiger seal he was planning to use for Shikaku. "How did you even graduate the Academy?" Kensei said as he turned his head to look at Laxus. His eyes slowly moved to Laxus hand that was weilding the kunai. "You're just wide open for an attack." Kensei said as he snapped his fingers. This caused a flame to appear on Laxus's hand which forced him to drop the kunai. He shortly jerked his upper body clockwise to sweep kick Laxus off of his feet while he was distracted by his burning hand. Kensei then stood up and brought his left leg up in an arcing motion only to quickly slam his foot directly on Laxus's chest. "Dumb a**." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

So far, everything was going according to plan, making Shikaku quite happy. He seemed to have Kensei's full attention, even if it had come along with a full blown headache, and Sora and Laxus would be able to sneak up on the man with no trouble at all. This would be over in moments!
The boy's heart sank however, as reality struck. A thud, sounding very much like the sound of flesh hitting earth at a high velocity sounded out, followed by cries of worry, and then alarm from the civilians in the area. Had someone fallen from the roofs? Shikaku glanced in the direction of the sound, masking his own worries with no small amount of real confusion as he realized it was probably Sora. The girl seemed accident prone, and he had a bad feeling it wasn't as much of an act as he had initially thought.
The civilian's cries of alarm grew even louder as he heard another strange sound, that of the earth grinding against itself, followed by... Laxus' voice warning Kensei not to move. Seriously? Kensei was a chuunin, a close range combat specialist! Why did the idiot get into close range and then announce himself?! "Wh - What's going on Niisan?" Shikaku voiced, looking around in confusion even though he still had his eyes covered, simply trying to preserve his cover at this point.
Luckily, Laxus seemed to have the man's full attention as he heard the man speak, voice muffled characteristically of one who had their back to you. Shikaku couldn't help but grin at that, in no small part helped along by the sounds of fleshy impact coming from in front of him as he assumed Laxus was finally getting a well earned thrashing. Shikaku waited until the sounds of impact had ceased, followed by Kensei insulting the older boy, apparently having forgotten his presence temporarily.
Deciding to seize the opportunity, whether it revealed himself or not, Shikaku removed his hands from his eyes, reeling out a couple feet of his razor wire, and jumped at Kensei's back, swinging the loop of wire up and over where his voice indicated Kensei's head to be. Quickly pulling the wire taut enough to hopefully hold, but not enough to damage, he locked his legs around the man's waist to hold himself in place. "Don't move!" he quickly hissed a warning, hoping against hope the man wouldn't automatically throw him, and risk injuring them both rather badly. "This is razor wire. If you move too fast, or try to throw me, It'll slit your throat at best, and remove your head at worst." he quickly added on the explanation to avoid getting the same reaction as Laxus had with his own threat.
Scraped and bruised by the fall but otherwise relatively fine, Sora found herself needing a moment to find her bearings. Although, needing to locate herself didn't do anything to hinder her voice, which she automatically used for another attempt at her previous warning, "Everyone, get away!". This time, though, the warning was very much real. AT this point, some sort of skirmish was necessary, and Sora didn't want any innocent bystanders to be injured.
As she recovered, Sora saw Laxus getting thrashed and caught Shikaku revealing his true intentions to Kensei. Her ears took a bit more time to focus in on the right thing amidst all the chatter and noise, but she did vaguely hear Shikaku saying something about not moving. With proper control over her hearing came her balance, and Sora was ready to jump into action once more, just in time to inform Shikaku, "Watch out for hawks," right as he finished his own threat.
Sora then proceeded to stagger up and backwards from Kensei to create some much needed distance. He was now surrounded on both sides and he'd need to move quite a bit forwards if he wanted to hit Sora. At the same time, Sora also weaved her hands to form another jutsu.
《Jutsus》 Raikou Bunshin [Lightning Clone] Description: A solid clone made of pure electricity. These clones are easily dispersed by attacks of equal strength to the user. The raikou bunshin, being charged with electricity, is capable of delivering static shocks with every attack. Not enough to harm, but plenty to distract an opponent. When destroyed, the clone disperses in a burst of electricity strong enough to temporarily paralyze anyone touching it or any metal it is currently touching for one post. This clone is incapable of using jutsu, and does not share it's memories with the user.
