"I have to admit... That... was really good..." Jay said very softly, shivering a little and pulling her closer. "It made my spine tingle like crazy..." He chuckled and sighed a little. "I'm kinda sad it had to end..." He murmured. He had a bad feeling though, that he was just setting himself up for a world of hurt.
Why would she want to date you anyway... She didn't pull away from the kiss, so maybe you have that going for you... but still... What are the odds?
The internal conflict went on without any change from the smile on his face. He kept his eyes locked on hers and he finally said. "Would... you like to do it again?"

"mmhmm." Joi was just gone. There were feelings and thoughts stirring inside her body that had never existed before. She just gazed at him, a weird little dreamy look on her face.
Wait, did he just say again? Well okay. She closed her eyes and leaned towards him again, pressing her lips to his. She was seriously starting to think this kissing thing was rather fun.

Jay grinned and leaned more into the kiss, pulling her closer to him and chuckling into it, deepening it a little... but not like... sticking his tongue down her throat or nothing...
That would be... well... Just a tad hard for him to do, and in his mind, not all that sanitary...
But then, he didn't know that it was the next stage of kissing, nor did he know anything about kissing... Not aside from that his father said it was one of the best ways to show affection...
But that was beside the point, right now he was enjoying the kiss, leaning against a fallen log holding Joi closed as the fire danced in the windy chill night around them. It was... Romantic in a sense he thought, holding her close and kissing her for all that he was worth.
After all, it's not everyday that you fall this hard for somebody, at least, that's how he saw it. He wasn't sure about Joi's feelings for him, but he knew he'd fallen hard for her... Not that he'd come right out and say it of course, he was scared that it would totally destroy their friendship if he did, that she wouldn't be able to look at him the same again.
He could lose her love and live with that he thought, if he ever earned it, he did not think he had it... But if he lost her friendship...
If he lost her friendship he would not live... He knew that for a fact.

Joi embraced Jay tight as she kissed him. Holy cow the connection she felt with him right now was simply amazing. Her body felt so hot and tingly all over and certain other feelings began stirring. She was too lost in her little fantasy world to make the connection quite yet to the talk with her dad.
Joi suddenly had the feeling that she never wanted to be apart from him. Ever. Why tho? She kissed him, now fully aware of herself and the kiss, like how she thought she should, like she wanted to keep him like she felt if she didn't kiss him just right, he'd leave. But why did she feel that way? She was so confused.

Jay was feeling so warm, so... aware of Joi at that moment, it took all of his will to not take it the next step further. He couldn't do that do her, he wouldn't... He was going to be a knight, true to his title, he was going to go at her pace, or not go at all... So he just held her tight, and kissed her as best he could, tasting her lips and shivering all the while, not from the chill, but from how good it all was... Again, he took a breath for air and panted, and he just held her tight, not wanting to let her go...
The night was no longer young though... And his eyes were starting to get heavy...

Joi pulled only her lips away from Jay, leaving her face still very close to his. She panted very deeply and kept her eyes shut. She was rather content and happy at this moment. Feeling so close to him. Sneaking out today was so very, very worth it. She loosened her arms from his neck, and brought a hand up to his cheek, gently caressing. Her heart wanted to burst at the seems and she felt the incredible urge to just stand up and shout to the world what her and Jay had just done and that ... wait a minute? No, she definately was NOT in love. Pae in love make babies, it wasn't love. No way. It had to be something else. She sighed inwardly, resolving to not do anything else further like this with him until she knew for certain what was happening to her body. Who could she talk to about it tho?
She was very happy that she shared her first and second kiss with him. It was every bit as special as she thought it would be. If only, she had the courage to tell him that...

Jay too, was afraid of what was going on... More because he didn't know how much he could control himself if anything went further than this. He kept his eyes closed and bit back a sigh. "We should get some sleep..." He murmured, not commenting on the kisses at all...
As much as it made him hurt... He didn't think he'd ever bring them up again... Not unless they got into a situtation like this again... He would just be her really close friend...
Nothing more...

Joi nodded slowly. "Yeah, quicker we get asleep the quicker morning will come." she sighed slightly, actually not wanting the night to ever end. At sun up, she'd have to face the music and she feared for her life...
She lifted her head a little, looking at him. His eyes... they were what drew her so intensely to him before, and again, not able to control her actions or impulses, she wrapped her arms tight around him, one last kiss wouldn't hurt anything...

Why did she have to torture him so? Jay had to admit though, he enjoyed her kisses, and he loved every moment of them. He held her tight as they kissed for one last time, letting himself lay down next to the fire, hoping the wood he'd put in it would last them the night, it was quite a large fire... But...
He rolled them onto their sides as they kissed, then then finally he pulled back and brushed her hair. "Rest against me, I shall make sure no harm comes to you while you sleep..."
A promise he intended to keep for the rest of his days...

Ending with just a sweet little peck on his lips, she smiled and nodded slightly, "Alright, Thank you, Jay." her tone was sweet, innocent and actually very full of the emotion she was feeling for him, even if she didn't know it. She snuggled into him. So warm, so comfortable. Why does this feel so right when its so wrong? She decides to not think about that for now and enjoy the new feelings for however long they last. She figured till morning at least, with her dad squasing them and replacing them with more anger.
Sighing a soft and contented sigh, she closes her eyes, not quite falling asleep, but trying to. So nice...

Jay knew that it was going to be a long night and an even longer day... He would not sleep that night, it was impossible for him to. He knew that he was going to have to face her father, he would not let her face that man's wrath on her own...
He just hoped Joi wouldn't be foolish and try to take blame for this...
He would never leave Joi's side, never... No matter what happened he would be just a call away. So he leaned his head down and kissed her forehead.
"If you need me Joi, if you ever need me... Just call my name... and I will come to you..." He whispered in her ear, before pulling back, and saying so softly that it was carried away on the wind before she could hear it, "... Because I love you..."

Joi indeed didn't hear that last part, but she thanked him for the first part. "You really are my knight, Jay. Thank you." She yawned softly, nuzzling up to him and more quickly than she thought, she drifted off into a peaceful dream ... where her Daddy and Jay got along and she was happily in love...

The night passed with little event, and Jay did find himself drifting into sleep and allowed himself to doze off for short periods of time, but evertime the fire popped he would open his eyes again, and check around them. When the sun peaked out over the east lip of the isle Jay stayed where he was, he would not move till he felt Joi stir, and he'd kept his arm around her protectively the whole night. The fire was now starting to die down, but thankfully so was the wind, and the temperature was starting to rise with the sun.
With any and all hope, today would not end in diaster...

Joi had always been a bit of a heavy sleeper, and she talked in her sleep frequently. However, to her advantage, she usually mumbled her nonsense in languanges long forgotten to the pae. A rather menial sign of her abilities manifesting and developing.
Bad luck for her tho, as english was the chosen language to verbalize parts of her dream this time. Without moving, suddenly in a sleepy, somewhat slurry voice, she confesses the feelings she mistakenly thought could have been love to Jay. "I love you, we should make babies..." Had she been awake, she would NEVER have uttered THAT particular phrase, because she really was scared to have babies. Funny what the mind's subconscious does when one is dreaming.
Lucky for her, she wouldn't remember ever saying anything like that. And if she did, she'd deny it anyway. She made a vow to never love anyone, ever. Love=babies.
Stirring slightly then stretching her arms straight out where they'd rested on Jay's side, she yawned and woke her sleepy little self up, shivering slightly when she realized she didn't sleep in her own bed. Sure was a peaceful sleep tho, odd...
The previous nights events, her first kiss, her second and third even ... just a memory of her dream to her. She didn't think it had really happened, but wow did she enjoy that dream, seemed so real to her.

Joi's words in her sleep nearly killed Jay again, but he didn't act on them at all, part of that due to the fact that she had sounded still asleep...
When she started to stir however he chuckled, and leaned down to her ear, "Mornin sleepy-head, you sleep well?" His voice was soft and caring, a tone befitting someone's knight yes?
She was never going to be alone... She might not see him, but she would never be alone...
