Of course they didn't get too far- just after their discussion about not consuming strange blood, they were beset upon by an odd girl who knocked into them. With a giggle she deposited a small giftbag into the boy's bucket and gave a happy halloween before scooting off as quick as she appeared.
Cris raised a brow at the girl, shrugging. Well, that should hekp make up for some of the dud houses they had gotten earlier. "Isn't that a nice surprise?"
Todd pawed through the bag, nodding his head and then sniffing in the direction the girl went, calling thanks after her. "Niiiiiice. Nice suh-pwise! he said cheerily. "Fanks, strnage wady!" he called.

On a roll, it seemed, Todd yielded another little gift from the next house, albeit a squishier one that he was holding up and squeezing. It was slimy and kind of squishy...and it smelled sort of like food-stuff! So it was decided, he was going to eat it, then.
Cris winced at the boy's trophy. Okay, seriously? What the hell kind of houses were in this neighborhood? If they just went to the Durem neighborhoods, he had a feeling he wouldn't have had such odd handouts...
He was interrupted from his thoughts by the sight of Todd putting the eye into his mouth and sucking on it. Cris was no a squeamish man by any means, but that boy couldn't keep putting weird crap in his mouth like that! Bad for his health. Whatever health he had.
"Todd, don't...!" He was thwarted, though, by the boy slupring the hanging optical nerve up like spaghetti, giggling and quirking his head after. Cris sighed heavily. "...forget to wipe your mouth." he mumbled, dabbing the boy's mouth with his bandana.

Navi was happy enough with his new pet, who was currently snuggled on the deerchild's back. But he was genuinely surprised to get another cute little ghosty-pop dropped into his bag at the next door. THAT one he'd be saving for the kitten when it was old enough to eat sweets.

Another house, another spider ring! The boy didn't seem upset with the repeats, really, carefull trying to cram it onto another one of his fingers. He'd have a hand full of spiders before the night was through, it seemed...not that he minded. He liked spiders. He liked "creepy" things! They were the most fun, he found. They had the best smells and textures...and that meant the world to a boy with no sight.

He knew it was another werewolf claw- why else would the boy quickly horde it in his mouth before turning to waddle back? And then attempt to shrug innocently and claim he got nothing and that they were 'all out' around a mouthful of something?
He sighed, defeated for now. But he swore if he ended up with a werewolf-zombie child, he was gonna be busting some doors down. For now, though, he played along with his child's act, nodding. "Oh, too bad. Let's try another house, then.
It worked! His da didn't suspect a thing! Oh, he was such a tricky boy! And he got to suck the delicious red off the claw-thing he got. He was starting to like this halloween thing...seems some people had really good candy!
