Fanatical Friend

"I don't think I'm ever going to make it out of here, Cube." Junko sighed, trudging along. She was losing energy. She was so tired. When she'd seen Imaginary!Mai napping on the ground it had been just that, a figment of her crazed imagination, but now it was beginning to look very tempting to just go back and curl up with the imaginary!Mai and just...sleep forever. She was never going to get out of this maze. Never. Never ever.

That's not true! You'll make it out! Just believe!

"Yes, just keep going! I think if you turn this corner you'll like what you see." Her reflection gestured around said corner before disappearing around it. Junko blinked, following it around and spotting Vaith and Noise up ahead.

"DUDE. IT'S ONE OF YOUR DUDES. VAITH. VAAAAAAAITH." The Mistress cried out desperately, lifting Junko's hair like flailing arms. Junko blinked. Why was The Mistress talking to her imagination?

"Hello, Maze Vaith. The Mistress seems to think you are real. Would you like to join us?" Junko asked politely, giving Vaith a smile as she walked up to the boil. Clearly he wasn't real. Just like Mai, and Seiji, and Aurian and even the cake. This was all her imagination. She was never leaving this maze.

...Or maybe she was? No, no. That couldn't be true.

Section 4: 1d12
10: You are so, so lost. But that's okay! You manage to find someone else in your group who's also lost and in Section 4. Through teamwork, the magic of friendship, and dumb luck the pair of you manage to make it to the end! Pick someone who is in Section 4 at the same time as you. Both of you exit the maze. You must pick someone at the exact time you roll a 10; you may not wait for another team member to get into section 4. If no one else is in your section, proceed by yourself to the exit.

Was... Was that Junko?!

The ghost boil blinked at the gap between a pair of mirrors, glowing eyes going wide as he watched the ghoul look his way then hurry off. "Junko?" He called after her, but didn't hear so much as a squeak in response.

Maybe he'd been imagining it? Or maybe she just couldn't hear him..

A little desperately Seiji darted off after her, calling to Aurian over his shoulder. "I saw Junko, come on!"

He should have waited for her, shouldn't have run off on his own, but this damn place had him jumpy and nervous, and the boil had been sure he'd just seen his ghoulfriend. If they could all team up together, that would be better, right? That was the plan at least, but it didn't work out that way.

"Aurian?" He slowed to stop to look over his shoulder, spinning around and doubling back a few steps, but it was no use. He'd managed to leave her behind. "s**t!"

(ILU KALI. Splitting them up so we can work on the maze at our own paces and not have to worry about slowing each other down at all. Apparently they only had to stick together through part one. o 3o))

Section 2: 1d8
1, 2: After walking around for three minutes, you realize that you're right back where you started. Roll again.

3, 8: While navigating the mirror maze, you manage to trip over a mirror-table and nearly drop a mirror-vase filled with mirror-flowers. You klutz! Take -1 HP damage. Then reroll.

4, 5: Success! That wasn't too bad. You proceed on to Section 3.

6: You come across a mirror-toilet, and decide to spend a little while there. Mirror epiphany toilet! It doesn't seem to have gotten you any further along, though..

7: How did you...? Somehow, you made it back to Section 1. Please scroll up and roll a 1d6 and follow the listings there.

Great, just great. Way to lose your team mate Seiji!

Scowling, the boil carried on through the mirror maze, though a sudden painful trip over a glass table did cause a momentary delay as a string of colorful curses rose up to echo throughout the entire section.

The varies forms of his relfection were laughing at him as he wandered around seemingly aimlessly. It was a mirror maze though, a macabre one at that, and it was damn hard trying to navigate corners and bends when everything looked the same.

That table certainly looked familiar.

It hurt just as bad tripping over it a second time as it had the first. Wtf.

******** maze, and it's ******** mirrors. How were they supposed to get anywhere when everything looked the same?!

Wait..

Hold up.

He stared at scattering a broken glass, and felt his temper raise another notch. This was the mirror he'd broken in his bid to move onto the next section to join Aurian. So that meant...

"Jack ******** Damnit!"

He was really tempted to just start busting mirrors, but he didn't have a pumpkin pill on him should he slice himself up in the process. Instead he moved very quickly around bends and down lengths of all. Ignoring the reflections all around him and the images of terror.

He was so over this maze.

SO, So over it. It seemed as though maybe it'd been easier with Aurian, but maybe the distraction of having her around made things more bearable.

Lost. He was very very lost.

he considered perhaps applying a bit of planning in the paths he was taking, but would it even matter if you started smack dab in the center?

It couldn't hurt, right?

He stopped, arms crossing over his bare chest, and thought back to as many turns as he could accurately remember taking. Then, drawing a path in his head, took the next corning accordingly.

He had to admit to being slightly horrified when his plan hadn't yielded immediate results, but that was no reason to stop, was it?

After a few more minutes and a couple of vaguely familiar looking reflections he began to wonder if path really mattered. Perhaps the maze was magic, and they were all at the mercy of some twisted luck.

Just keep walking, just keep walking, just keep walking.

Never give up hadn't been a mantra Seiji had adopted before, it sort of being applied and all, but he was certainly adopting it now.

Finally he was back to where he had started before Junko's departing image had led him astray. Had it been a trap, or simply bad luck? He wasn't sure, but he was determined not to make a repeat of it.

He paused in his wandering, staring down at a mirror.. toilet. "What in the.." Really?!

After having tripped over the same table twice now, one would have thought the boil would learn to watch his feet. Perhaps a third stumble would drive the lesson home. Ow.
