BAM! The boat had gone down just like that! He felt a bit of a thrill at the allowed destruction. And he wouldn't even get in trouble either! It was just a game! Gleefully, he grabbed another ammo and took aim...

He was on a roll! Positively beaming now, and perhaps getting a bit cocky, he glanced about to see if anyone else had spotted his good aim... but it seemed everyone was busy with their own doings. Ah well. He wished he had had this good of luck when they had been on that wretched island. Maybe he should have made a slingshot out of his pipe?
Trying to clear his mind of upsetting things, he took aim one final time...

Suddenly, the ammo he thought had been just a seashell began to squirm in his grip. With a muffled yelp, he let go prematurely, rocketing the odd little creature off.... somewhere not at a boat. Well, BLAST! That was hardly fair! He peered into the barrel more closely, brows knitting in disgust- untill he saw a small squirming purple octopus and sagged a bit with renewed depression.
Apparently he had won something from his efforts, though?

He accepted the ball with a polite bow, trying to smile just as politely but it seemed socialization was not on the Igor's mind, really. He needed more things to take out his frustration on. More things to smash.
And just as quietly as he had come, the Igor lurched off again, his prize stuffed into his pocket. At least it didn't sparkle, that was a plus.

HOW DID HE NOT SEE THIS BOOTH FIRST?! The damp ground, the rotting wood and -- boats! Boats, boats, boats, BOATS! Merope's fins flared out to their maximum as he all but pranced up to the booth. "Hi professor!" He greeted cheerfully, shifting from foot to foot in excitement.
The excitement fizzled somewhat upon discovering that, no, you did not get to punch the boats down. It flared up again immediately upon noticing the slingshots. And the ammo. The ammo! Jellyfish, crabs, octopi -- if he could still cry he would weep with joy. Instead the grin on his face grew immensely. Carefully he reached into the ammo stockpile and scooped up a jellyfish, scratching its head and just about cuddling it before he loaded it into the slingshot.
PSHOOOOMPHT!
"YES!" Merope shouted, dropping his clipboard as he pumped his fists up in celebration. First try, direct hit! "Aw yeah! My boat smashing practicing has paid off! I'm going to hit them all!"

The soggy boards oozed out more saltwater as Edel stepped foot onto the booth. She wondered if this was how the sea smelt like as she took a few more steps towards the counter. Smells of adventure.
Human Studies. A subject in school she supposed. She wouldn't mind picking it up actually, it would be rather interesting to read about....seafaring men - were they called pirates?
Edel peered over the counter to see a red-haired woman sitting opposite her, engrossed in a book about boats. She decided it wasn't such a great idea to disturb her.
There was another boil at the counter – were those fins? He had greeted the woman as “Professor” Oh I see, she thought, and was currently firing sea critters at the moving boats. The jellyfish had contacted one of the boats, crashing into it and sinking it.
It looked.....pretty exciting. Edel picked up one of the slingshots and a crab with the other hand. It was eyeing her warily, clicking its pincers together in a rhythmic fashion. Loading it onto the slingshot, Edel took aim at one of the boats that were sailing past.

She missed! The crab had hit the side of the counter, producing an oddly-satisfying crunching noise. Edel felt a little embarrassed, picking up a jellyfish to load into the slingshot this time. Maybe something softer might be better?
Taking aim, Edel released the slingshot, causing the jellyfish to sail gracefully through the air towards the boats.

He did it once. Could he do it again? Merope began to reach into the box containing the slingshot ammunition, pulling short as another person reached in and took the crab he was about to grab. "Oh! Sorry," he apologized, switching instead to grab an octopus. Or rather attempt to grab one. The slick creature slipped out of his hand and popped onto the other side of the tank, eluding him again and again as he tried to grab hold of it.
"Feh! Fine!" He blew a raspberry at the creature before picking up a different crab, readying it quickly and taking aim. "You're here for Open House, I take it?" He asked, nodding towards the visitor's pass.
The crab in question would have none of this sling shotting business. As the undead leviathan pulled back, the crab frantically thought. Its little beady eyes lit up as it thought of a cunning plan, pinches clicking quickly in anticipation. As Merope let go, the creature lashed out with one claw to grab hold of one of the slingshot's elastic bands and swing itself up and over, the other claw clamping down viciously onto Merope's hand.
Now if he were still alive, now would be a perfect time to hop up and down and shake his hand in a wild fashion in hopes of detaching the crab. Since he was undead, however, he stared at it with a puzzled expression. Then he lit up. "HEY PROFESSOR can I keep this? I'll pet it and feed it and -- wait, it's a toy? Aw man." The boil scuffled a talon against the floor in disappointment before eying the crab again, wondering how he was going to get it off.

Ouch! Edel looked down at her hand where red streaks were appearing on her skin. The jellyfish hadn't taken too nicely to being ammo – and had expressed its deepest displeasure by stinging her. She massaged her hand gently, wondering if she should even take another shot at the boats.
"You're here for Open House, I take it?" Edel turned towards the boil, looking rather abashed.
“Yes I am,” she replied. “The school looks great, and I've been having a lot of fun.” She paused for awhile, looking at her hand. Maybe that wasn't so convincing.....
“You're a student here I suppose?” she asked sheepishly. “D-do you take this class? Human studies I mean?”

The boil appeared to be caught up in a small tussle with another crab who was refusing to let go of his finger. Edel gave a pained expression – that had to hurt. Orrrrrr maybe not, since he seemed pretty excited about keeping it as a pet. Edel supposed that kind of bravery....was admirable....
She looked mournfully into the bucket of sea creatures again. Perhaps....an octopus would be a little more kind. Edel winced a little as she picked the eight-legged creature up. It clung onto her hand with its suckers, it took a while for her to coax it off her hand and into the slingshot.
Taking aim one last time, Edel fired towards the moving boats.

"Yep! My name's Merope," he extended his hand for a handshake, switching hands when the crab continued to click its free claw. "Oop, better not use that hand. And yeah! Human studies is the best class!" He literally lit up -- the cyan markings on him glowed brighter with enthusiasm. "It's my favorite! We've been given human specimens to keep track of an evolve, but the best part? Boats." He grinned. "Last class we had to build boats and make them float since humans use them to travel. Me? I didn't know what a boat was 'til the class. The best part about boats is smashing them." He broke off, fins drooping with embarrassment. "Ahhh, sorry. I babbled a bit. What's your name? How're you liking Amityville so far?"

The crab didn't look like it was interested in dropping from him any time soon. With a shrug, Merope reached into the ammunition box and seized another jellyfish. He loaded it into the slingshot and took aim, glancing from the slingshot to the moving boats and back. "Okay, one last shot," he muttered under his breath, moving his arms around for a better position.
Or what he hoped was a better position. The undead boy let go and hoped for the best.

Taking his non-bitten hand, Edel returned the handshake and introduced herself. “My name's Edel, pleased to meet you!” She gave his other hand a concerned look before looking up to listen to what he had to say....which was a lot.
“Human specimens?!” she exclaimed, evidently more than a little surprised. “Those sound a little dangerous.” The part about boats DID sound interesting though, it explained a little about the booth and the Professor's obsession about the book on boats.
“I've visited the Scario Kart booth and the pink games booth so far. I've never tried Scario Kart before, but the club captains Ren and LW gave us an opportunity to play, it was really fun.” Pointing towards the pile of loot on the table, she continued “That came from the games booth, they also have really cute nyan cats. The school library is by far the most amazing thing I've seen here though”
It was her turn to babble, which she realised and quickly apologised for. The octopus had missed the boats, which meant that she missed out on the prizes. She sighed.
“Is there anywhere else interesting I should check out?” she asked.

The jellyfish seemed to be on the same brainwave as the crab. It was loaded into the slingshot, its tentacles lashing out at Merope as it tried frantically to wiggle free. Merope obliged by launching it into freedom. Freedom happened to be a moving boat, where it landed with a wet thump.
"Nice to meet you, Edel," he replied with a grin before nodding. "Yep! Apparently humans evolved from'em. I have a green one and a purple, though they're both back in my minis-closet."
He glanced at the table as she gestured, his fins perking up with interest. "Oh, neat! I just showed up myself. I'm not sure what else is going on, through there guys over at the Bruteball Booth are currently rough housing. I'd wait for them to settle before heading over there myself."

(( Not a roll for the game 8D )) As much as he would like to keep it, it would be best if he left it. Merope squeezed the crab's claw on its side until it released him, grimacing as it took some of his skin with him. "Aw man," he whined. With a sigh, he was about to drop it back into the box until an idea occurred to him. Merope shifted his grip on the crab until it rested comfortably in his palm, its pincers kicking madly in an attempt to flip back over right-side up. The undead boil wound up and threw the crab at the boats, hoping to hit one last boat. KERTHUD!"HA! Take that!" Merope shouted, pointing at the crab as it knocked over a boat. While he would have preferred to walk up to the moving boats and punch them down himself, there was something... awesome about being able to chuck a crab at it. "Well, I'm off to check out the rest of Open House. Catch you later, Professor!" Merope waved before picking up his clipboard and moving off. (( 2/3 hits earlier! Profile: Marushii. Also: exiting~ ))
