AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM Name: Edelweiss Zaira Nicknames: Edel, Dell (more to come with RP) Gender: Female Age: Appears 18
Faction/Race Demon – Frost demon Natural Ability: Ice Manipulation - Edel can create ice sculptures, ice-bending if you may. Bigger stuff takes longer to make.
Personality: Edel, well, she's lady-like - she was brought up that way. Calm and composed, polite, elegant....whatever you'd expect from a ~true lady~. She's pretty mature and level headed, though her better judgment may be compromised by the uncontrollable desire to do something new/fun/GO ON AN ADVENTURE. On that note, while she would be more than glad to join in the fun, she's a bit of a failure when it comes to RIGOROUS, PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES. No not like that WHAT ARE YOU THINKING evil . I'm just saying, her ~elegant, delicate~ person isn't used to running about and chasing after frisky minipets. Plus she had been leading a pretty sedentary life before this.
But when Edel knows what she wants, she will work to get it. While you'd expect someone as sheltered as her to sit there and demand for things to happen, she isn't that type – she'd much rather get on her feet and do something than just wait. Perhaps this is a little impatience on her part. She can be discouraged quite easily, not because she has failed in her first attempts, but because someone has been disapproving or even worse, told her off. She finds it hard to actually be rebellious despite a love for adventure due to her upbringing, she definitely does not want to displease her parents even if it means she can't do what she wants all the time. At the Academy with the pressure of her parents gone, she'd be free to do more but is still wary about crossing the lines. Or you could drag her across.
Edel didn't get to interact with different kinds of people, so you'd expect a rather standard and formal approach from her initially. Going to Amityville means getting to meet all sorts of people – people she normally wouldn't know how to react to. Other than being nice and polite, she'd probably respond by giving a quizzical look, a nod and move on. Or a slightly embarrassed look, a nod and move on. Or maybe pretend she didn't see. It depends. Also, she can't react if you suddenly burst out crying, or came storming pass very pissed. She wouldn't know how to comfort you other than something reminiscent of a Sheldon Cooper's "There, There", or tell you to chill and ask what's wrong. Edel would just.....keep quiet - the best thing to do. Some might find her a little impersonal as a friend for that matter. There's always the possibility that she'll get riled up by some to the extent that she can't maintain her polite self – to that her response would be cold. Really cold. The air around her would have a noticeable drop in temperature and her words – they cut like ice. (see features for more). Her cold tempers don't happen often but when they do, brrrr. Surmise to say, she'll be working on her social skills in school.
Edel has a strange habit of using a deadpan expression or nonchalance while asking for something she wants or when responding to something that totally intrigues her. She tries to hide all her excitement and desireeeeee that way (calm and composed, always.). It's kinda cute. I mean, what would mother say if you ran about the house and jumped about being all excited? But for the other person, sometimes it's hard to tell if she's serious or not. Her dad got tricked into sending her to school like that. When she's around her friends, she tries to loosen her expression a little (ref 2), but it's still stiff as ever. WELL AT LEAST SHE TRIES. You can sorta guess that she's the type who giggles to herself alot and tries to hide it. Uhm.
Living in seclusion for a good part of her life meant that no, she's pretty clueless about pop culture, urban legends, the latest trends etc. She'd likely believe you if you said that its a tradition for zombies to play leapfrog in the pumpkin patch of spiderdays. She's slightly gullible in that sense (she'd take your word for it if she's never heard about it before), but eventually she'll wise up after some time of being exposed to all the awesome. She's not stupid though, if it sounds absolutely ludicrous she may not buy it, even if it's true (because you know that happens in Halloween). Well that depends on how persuasive the other party is too. And while she may believe you she may not be so obliging to partake in the so -called “traditional activities” if she's just plain disturbed by the suggestion. So friends, pull your pranks on her while you can before she starts turning them on you. >D She may not look the type, but the lady is a wry one. She gets a kick out of creeping people out with her weird sometimes perverted ice sculptures and takes joy in parodying a situation through a mini ice tableau. Pranked her before? She'd get you back in time, just you see. Her practical jokes however, mean no harm or direct insult to the person, they are mostly dry humour driven or border on morbid humour for some of the more.....artistic sculptures. For those that do get freaked out (unintentionally) or take offense, she'd try to make it up to you with a cheer-up snowman. ):
(+) Artistically inclined, a master of her ice craft (+) Open Minded (+) Takes the initiative, hardworking (=) A little cheeky (-) Slightly gullible (for now) (-) Socially awkward due to the culture shock (-) Easy to discourage with authority (-) Underdeveloped social skills may leave her a little impersonal/distanced despite a good rapport. Also less apt at dealing with relationships/friendships (-) Less assertive/ unvoiced in groups
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Having been cooped up in her home for the past few years, along with the fact that her “grooming into a fine young lady” years are over, life is now really dull and stagnant. Since the Zaira family doesn't get visitors very often (or get invited to attend events for that matter), there really is nothing much to do other than wander around the manor is an elegant and glacial pace. Edel looks up to her distant relative, Jack Frost, as a source of inspiration and so desires to lead a more happening life. What used to be a selfish desire is now intertwined with the fact that at current, she feels she has a long way to go as a person with her responsibilities becoming more evident. She pretty much decided that going to the Academy and seeing the world would give her an opportunity to achieve both goals, so one day she nonchalantly asked her dad if she could go and he said yes (thinking that it was a joke, he was unprepared for it). So the next thing he knew was that Edel had started packing to get ready for school.
Edel have a vague idea of the curriculum at best. But she's there to get the best out of the school experience, so she's going in with an open mind. Edel isn't afraid of getting dirty and trying out new things, for her, school = opportunities for life, love and to see the world.
FEAR: Edel uses her ability to create ice sculptures of various shapes, imbuing them with fear (making them impervious to ghosts). In battle they are mostly used for defence (creating an ice-shield / lining the floor with ice shards), given how it takes some time for her to create this ice. In Year 2 it CAN be used for offense to a certain extent (this is open to change, idk lD) Her ice will melt after a certain period of time and is susceptible to fire/heat attacks.
Room for development in the academy : Speed and Durability of her ice defense / attack
Wait- how is this scary? Being a bit of a prankster (along with her unique, very Halloween taste in art), she'd create a range of grosteque sculptures that would freak kids (and some adults I guess) out. She might leave an ice sculpture of a gargoyle, other assorted uglies or your mom at the doorstep. Would kids go crying if they saw their mommy and daddy turned into ice statues? Yea they would. (Though she didn't really turn them into ice statues - her non-aggressive temperament doesn't usually see her launching direct attacks at people.)
Typical sculpture style: Gothic & Baroque
Physical Description: Eye Colour: Piercing Blue Hair Colour/Style: Blue Skin Colour: Pale, purple tinges Clothing Style/Colours: Victorian gowns, usually white, blue, pale purples/pinks and grays Extra: Elven shaped ears with icicle tips, icicle fingertips, icicles that hang from her clothing (see ref), ice crystals covering the sides of her face References:
Notes: Her features get sharper when she gets angry or starts to throw a frigid temper. (This hasn't been too common so far, though I'd expect that to change when she gets to the Academy lD) Quote: - Frost Demon:: xxxxxCommon Desc: Also known as ice demons, these elementals can either be 'summoned' or naturally created when imbued with Fear. Like all other elementals, they will melt if exposed to their weakness (Fire), but have innate ice abilities. Frost demons are usually the smallest of the elemental group.

 Character Setting:
The Zairas are a well-esteemed family of frost demons that live far far away on the snowy mountains of seclusion. Other than their very few close relatives, the rest of the demon community has forgotten about them or simply has no idea they exist. Thus, the Zairas have been living on their own for a fair amount of time, visitors are really very rare.
Their manor is situated way up in the mountains, surrounded by an expanse of land (read: snow and mountains). They rarely travel outside because 1. There isn't a need to and 2. There isn't a need to. We shall assume that sustenance (food) and everything else is taken care of by their attendants.
Their closest neighbour is the Abominable Snowman.
Character History:
Edel was brought up to be a fine lady, elegant and poised just like her parents. Life wasn't so boring at first since she had classes that trained her to be a proper lady etc. Now that she's finally done with all that, she has nothing to do. Nothing.
(Nothing interesting at least)
On most days she would keep herself occupied by creating ice sculptures (yes that's a hobby) or wander around the house, but there's always a limit to how much fun you can get out of that. She has her duties as a lady of the household.....but you can tell that it doesn't involve much.
She would hear about all the wonderful things the world has out there from her attendants, through books or from the very very rare visitor. One of them would be her playful relative Jack Frost, who will spark off her desire for adventure and fun. Inspired by his stories and mischief, Edel would soon try her hand at being “creative” with her ability. Her first prank was to create an ice sculpture of a golem in the kitchen - that freaked some of the attendants out. She got a real kick out of that, but her parents were pretty much hurhur about it and safe to say, less than amused. Anyhow, she never pulled such a thing off again because. Restraint my lady. v_v (But of course she still practices in private to amuse herself)
Edelweiss was homeschooled from young, but mostly on academics (that were within her parent's capacity) such as literature, history and the arts. She can be considered to be a Renaissance Man (or woman), though her knowledge may be a little dated due to the family living in seclusion, and hence her cluelessness about pop culture and relatively new inventions. Going to Amityville Academy will not only supplement what she has learnt in some subjects, as well as update her facts and cause her to relearn new things (mostly referring to the sciences). On her own, Edelweiss is an accomplished artist and musician, learning how to play the violin and the piano during her years of training.
Growing up, she still maintains her love and interest to discover the world and sees it as something that is necessary (for herself, as well as for the future) in order to live up to the family name that she has grown to take pride in. She believes going to school provides her with the opportunity to seek adventure and at the same time, gain experiences that would shape her as a better person - someone wiser and more capable to inheriting the family title.
Family Valdemar von Zaira: Is a charming man who spends his time in the library reading. He plays the piano and violin and teaches Edel. He is well-read, wise and sedentary.
Helenor Zaira: Is a beautiful woman who spends her time by the huge glass window in the hall drinking tea or painting. She is gentle, understanding and sedentary.
.... There really isn't much to say about them.
Edel doesn't really spend too much time with her parents (and vice versa), but don't get me wrong, they still love each other. In fact she has great respect for her parents and does her best to make them proud. They just don't get together to do family-family stuff as much as she would want to.
Misc Stuff: Emblem Obligatory Wiki attack: The common name comes from German edel, meaning "noble", and weiß (also spelled weiss) "white", thus signifying "noble whiteness" or "noble purity". The Persian name is gol-e-yax, which translates as "ice flower"

Because.
1. What is your full name? Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to say. I could however, leave you with Edelweiss Zaira – Edel for short.
2. Where and when were you born? In the pumpkin patch, as it has been since the beginning.
3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) My Father, Valdemar von Zaira, is a respectable noble man. He reads widely and I look up to him for his wisdom. My Mother, Helenor Zaira, is quite the wonderful woman. She's the one who taught me how to paint and create art since I was young.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I'm the only child unfortunately.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I live in the family Manor located in a secluded spot in the mountains, we get a great view from up here (: . We're surrounded by snow all year round, but that's favourable due to our Frost Demon nature. I live with my family and the attendants.
6. What is your occupation? I'm the lady of the Zaira household and the heir to the estate. I have currently taken over some of the household duties from my mother. They will have to be relinquished when I leave to study in the Academy.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Ah, such a personal question to ask... Rather than me talk about it, shall I list them for you? Height: 170cm Weight: ..... (I'd rather not say...) Hair: Blue, long and wavy Style of Dress: Victorian, prim and proper Physical traits of note: Icicle tipped elven shaped ears Tattoos/Scars/Marks: -
8. To which social class do you belong? The demon faction.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I believe that I'm vulnerable to extreme heat.
10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like? What a strange question to ask a person! I can't really describe it, perhaps a little soft? You should be the judge....
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? Ah....
13. What do you have in your pockets? My attire does not have any pockets, though I carry with me a fountain pen at all times.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? I suppose I can be rather shy? A-and that I feign nonchalance in face of excitement? It's a little embarrassing to say....
15. How would you describe your childhood in general? My childhood was spent reading and learning – all part of the training to become a proper lady (:
16. What is your earliest memory? Watching snow fall from my bedroom window.
17. How much schooling have you had? I've been homeschool since young. I suppose you can say that I'm pretty well-read in most areas, though knowledge is endless and I'm sure that I will learn even more new things at the Academy (:
18. Did you enjoy school? It's always interesting to learn something new. I enjoy History in particular, the exploits of our forefathers are indeed most intriguing!
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? My Mother taught me how to paint and create art, though I must saw that I have developed my ice sculpting skill mostly on my own. I refer to the works in the Baroque and Gothic eras frequently. As for music, my Father is a very musically inclined man. I have to admit I have yet to reach the level of his skill at the violin and piano.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. My mother and Father of course.
.......and my distant relative Jack Frost.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I think I can say that we're a pretty happy family.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I have been brought up to become a proper lady of the family estate, which I will fufill in due time. Though.....I must admit that I would like to become someone as famous and carefree and uncle Jack.
23. As a child, what were your favourite activities? Watching the snow and reading.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? My parents says that I am well behaved.
.....Except for that one incident I suppose.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? .....I don't have friends of my age unfortunately. But my attendants have been very kind and I enjoy their company very much.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss? I-I've n-not been kissed!
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? *blushes* Of course I am....
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. I'm from a family of Frost demons, my ice-crafting abilities up to now have been taught by my Father. I'm about to develop these further in school.
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? When I met uncle Jack.
30. Who has had the most influence on you? My family and uncle Jack.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? The family sculpture on permanent display in our hall. I update and touch up on it regularly to express the changes (mostly age and growth) and refine it as I improve.
32. What is your greatest regret? I-It's rude for me to say..... ....but I would have enjoyed a more exciting childhood. Not that I disliked the way I was brought up though!
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? The incident in the kitchen. We don't really talk about it at home....
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? I should hope not!
35. When was the time you were the most frightened? ......I've not been actually frightened before.......perhaps the closest was when I saw how disappointed my parents were about that incident.....
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? Stumbling in high heels.....falling while learning how to ice-skate
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? That I could go to see the world out there sooner.
38. What is your best memory? Shhhh, keep it a secret alright? But that kitchen incident has been a fond memory through the times.....
39. What is your worst memory? ...I can't really answer that....
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Optimistic I suppose?
41. What is your greatest fear? ....I suppose getting mobbed and beaten up would be a bad thing no?
42. What are your religious views? None.
43. What are your political views? I'm afraid I've not been exposed to the debate about social class between the different races. Though I must admit that it is probably because I have been blessed into a family of higher status....
44. What are your views on sex? A natural process.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? Cruelty outright should always be unacceptable, but I do have my pride. I will accept the responsibility of protecting our family name and all that I stand for. I believe my parents feel the same. I will not kill or harm unless circumstances deem necessary.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? I've read about humans engaging in witch-burning....
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? *Plays with her hands and looks away* Y-yes.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life? A good education, and respect from one's peers and subordinates.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I'm honest when it is required, I can say that I am pretty impartial when it comes to judging circumstances. I try not to be too demanding.....so I keep that part of me and my wishes for a more exciting life to myself – it'll be unfair to complain to my parents who have brought me up so well. Though I guess I use nonchalance as a shield and to get what I want.....
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Not really....
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Bring shame to my parents. It would be most regretful to have an ungrateful child.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? My family and our pride.
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? I tend to be a little shy and polite around people I don't know so well. I suppose it takes some time for me to warm up to them haha. People close to me will discover some of my quirks and that I'm not such a stiff person I guess?
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? My family.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? My Father. He's well respected by those he knows and he has been a role model for me since young.
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I....don't really have friends.....my attendants come close but there's still a distance between us. My pets.....are still pets I guess *sighs*
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. No.....not yet.....
58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. Ah.....*sighs*
59. What do you look for in a potential lover? ......Someone like my father? A true gentleman would be nice *blushes*. Someone I respect. I suppose it will be nice to be serenaded. Ok that's enough *hides her face*
60. How close are you to your family? We're happy together (:
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? No.....I have yet to wed! Or fall in love for that matter.....
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? I'm always a little hesitant about taking my parents' time to look into something for me.....but they will be the last resort, yes.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? I've been taught to believe that it has to work both ways. Our attendants will do anything to protect us, but as the heads of the family, it is our duty to protect them as well. Mutual trust is important for this matter.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? Everyone who has cared for me so far....I sincerely do not wish to let them grieve though.....
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? I have yet to meet anyone who has garnered such a level of distaste....
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I believe in diplomacy.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? I'm usually too reserved to do so...or charismatic or assertive enough. I have lots to learn from my Father.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Large groups of people are pretty intimidating.....seeing how I'm not used to meeting more than a few at a time. I have very little experience with strangers sad to say, but I suppose we can meet interesting in a crowd.
69. Do you care what others think of you? It would be a lie if I said no.
70. What is/are your favourite hobbies and pastimes? Ice sculpting, taking walks and searching for inspiration.
71. What is your most treasured possession? My crystal headband. It's a family heirloom and I wear it all the time.
72. What is your favourite color? Varying shades of blue.
73. What is your favourite food? Seafood is always a treat.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read? Books on history and the arts. I find that understanding more about the people then can help me in the things I do now.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? Ice-sculpting. It'll be even better if what I do brings joy and laughter. (she means herself LOL)
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? I drink wine and champagne.....but not to the point of alcoholism no.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night? In my room, either reading or crafting something new.
78. What makes you laugh? When people are afraid of silly things!
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Bad attitudes I guess.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? I would make it snow in my bedroom.
81. How do you deal with stress? Doing art.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? I tend to plan things out, though I'm regrettably not as meticulous as I should be, hence the need to improvise at times.
83. What are your pet peeves? Creating weird, cutting edge sculptures. I know what people say, but it's really an acquired taste.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I shall not bore you with my daily routine....it is rather dull – I would be more than glad to have it disrupted. New circumstances are always good learning points.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person? My willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
86. What is your greatest weakness? Being too reserved or unable to step up to a leadership role with confidence.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Perhaps....I could do with a more outgoing personality.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy? Organised.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. Good: - Ice sculpting - Art in general - Playing the piano and violin....
Bad: - Adapting to situations quickly - Asserting myself - Interacting with a large group of strangers
91. Do you like yourself? Yes.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...) It is always exciting to experience new things and broaden one's horizons. There are so many things out there to see and discover. I'd like to take that and channel it into becoming a better person.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? Bringing pride to the family.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Someone a lot more wiser and a capable leader for the household.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Defending the people I love and the things I stand for. There's no greater honor than that.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. I'd spend time with my family and thank everyone that I've known. And perhaps create a parting gift.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? My works I guess
98. What three words best describe your personality? Determined, fun-loving....strange (haha).
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? Well-mannered, polite, kind
In time......perhaps a little funny and cheeky?
100. If you could, what advice would you, the creator of this OC, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice...) Loosen up girl. You can live your two dreams – you know how. Get a boyfriend. And talk to your parents, don't be so afraid of doing things that might disappoint them – they might not feel the same way! Have fun at school, make friends. C:

HI. So I'm here, um, since I have 3 hours till I work and I thought I may as well?... >>; Just some little comments.
I guess Edelweiss' natural ability won't have much effect on ghosts? Or is there a specific way it works?
Personality I bet her dress would impede movement, too, haha. I definitely wouldn't be able to move very fast in something that elegant xD; I did wonder! Her outfit is so elaborate, does she ever worry about ruining it...? Since she can be active, and doesn't like to wait for things to come her way.
Small typo, "Going to Amityville means getting to mean all sorts of people" = meet?
Does she get angry, then, or does she display it through coldness only? What kinds of things might be enough to make her that mad?
Because she lived in seclusion and can be clueless, is there a line she draws? Can she tell when something is threatening, and does she always seek revenge on pranksters? Do you think anyone might take advantage of this trait, or is she quick-witted enough to realize even though she doesn't have a lot of social and cultural experiences?
I lol'd at the perverted ice sculptures xD I like that.
Two of her negative traits seem like they could vanish with a little time at Amityville, leaving only that she is easy to discourage. Will she have other negative traits to balance that out, ones which are more lasting? Being gullible and socially awkward can definitely be transient negative traits.
Do warm rooms affect Zaira? Does heat harm her health or her disposition? Does she ever get homesick, given the weather of her family's home is not the same as Amityville... I'm curious to see how moving into such a different climate has affected a frost demon, basically.
How does she maintain the ice in her room?
Stupid question: She has no pockets, where does she keep the fountain pen? o_o
Hope these are helpful in some way xD;

ahh thanks for taking the time! and wow there's a lot you've looked through I'm really thankful for that!
Gonna answer them one by one XD
1. About ghosts, I suppose her abilities might not really work, but seeing as to how Maru has been re-writing the species guide recently about ghosts being slightly tangible uh, she'll probably be able to trap them with an ice enclosure?. Ah here's that bit :
"All members of the Ghost race, even if they are elementals and spirits, have the ability to become intangible and translucent. This allows them to avoid being seen (to an extent) and avoid some physical attacks, such as a shoe being thrown to their head. This, however, does not enable them to walk through walls. To walk through walls is a natural ability obtained by certain species of ghosts.
In a combat situation, becoming intangible does not prevent a ghost from being attacked! Attacks strike with Fear. Even if a ghost is intangible, they can still be hit with Fear. However if an opponent strikes a ghost and they are not concentrating their Fear, the opponent's fist can go through them. "
Or possibly charge her ice with Fear, something to that extent (:
2. Haha yes! I think that was one of the main ideas about her being all very elegant and stuff, moving at a glacial pace etc. Does she worry about ruining it - eh I don't think she consciously thinks about it, partially because she hasn't done much stuff to risk that as of yet. But I think she'd put her desire to participate and DO stuff / get messy before her appearance, yes. I actually intend to put her in much more flexible clothes as she progresses in the academy, to reflect a more active person as time goes by.
3. Ah yes that, will edit it asap XD
4. Hm, because I was thinking that getting angry the normal way was a very hot emotion, I thought it might be better to channel it through being cold so er well, her ice and stuff become more potent, as most powers do with strong emotion. On that point, hot/warm emotions (getting flustered etc) does cause some melting / decrease her ability to form more durable ice lol, if you get my drift. Things that get her mad - putting people in danger because the other person was being irresponsible? Probably irresponsible people yea, she's mature enough to take on jokes / jibes or stupidity as long as it was well-intended.
5. I think generally, when we're unfamiliar with something there's still some level of caution we take despite curiosity. Probably stuff like downing a dubious looking drink she will do, go near the whomping willow as part of a dare probably not. Pranking back to her is more about the friendly banter and one-man-upship, er but if it does escalate into something more serious and competitive she'd walk away. So not all the time I guess, she does it for fun. Yes actually I look forward to people taking advantage of her haha, but I guess you can tell if it's a prank if everyone is laughing at you or when you're in trouble with the teachers. I guess she'll need a good friend to tell her if she'd being taken in or what, but I'd think that there are some in the student body that are kind enough to tell her that she's being pranked.
6. That's good then XD
7. Yep I've been thinking about that too. I think she'd pick up a few bad habits / become more daring or develop a less polite personality during her school term. Perhaps things like taking a well-intended joke too far, I don't think her sense of humour will be appreciated by everyone. I guess that being socially awkward is a transient thing, but underdeveloped social skills is a problem that can be more long term. I'd see her having problems functioning as a friend that can offer heartfelt advice or get on a very personal level, seeing how she hasn't interacted much with those her age. I'll add that in too I guess. Just that currently, those are the negative traits about her, I'm leaving her quite open to change and see how others will change her personality wrt this area.
8. Yea she doesn't like heat much. She'd be drenched in her melt water basically haha. I think her excitement might eclipse her homesickness actually, she'll write back definitely. She'd be staying indoors mostly until she figures she has to ditch her clothes for something cooler for the outdoors yea.
9. I hope they have air-conditioning! Or she can request for it, idk the demon dorms are pretty lavish. I know the undead dorms are kept really cold so hopefully she'll get a room that can sustain ice. Open to change if the GMs think it won't work out (:
10. Her dress has many layers I'm sure there's room for that lD

Since I realize I have yet to comment on Edel, I think I will now.
I love Edel's character, concept, all that jazz. Seriously, I do. I've seen her in action at the Open House, and I seriously thought, "Edel would be such an amazing addition to the student roster." when I was RPing with her.
If she ever becomes a student, I would seriously love RP with her~ ((And yes, Moure is totally up for teaching her how to play Scario Kart. The offer still stands.))
Erg, I just realized this really isn't a crit at all. It's just me saying that I love Edel. XD; Well, there you have it.
(If you ever feel like critting something of mine in return (even though this failed as a crit), I'll just drop off Kallos here, in case. l'D;;; )
