I sense a strong wave of luck come along. Innes looking up at his companion. A friend whom had taught him a lot about the world. Joshua who had now become king of his desert homeland. Innes himself decided to beat Joshua to the point and pulled out a coin made of gold. He had learned Joshua's trick and with his eyes their was no doubt he would win. After losing a sizable sum of money he found it his duty to strip Joshua of some of his. If you want you can call it in the air. The cool coin clenched firmly in between his thumb and fist.

It was at this moment he recognized that Ephraim had even spoke to him. Of course he knew the whole time but would never admit to it. Ah King Ephraim how... nice it is to see you today. I don't suppose anyone else from the war is around? It would be nice to meet again. He did not like Ephraim but a good leader should always respect their manners. He said all of this in his cool demeanor that had earned him few friends.

He looked around at others whom looked less than friendly or could be seen as potentially dangerous. He reached to his hip and felt Nidhogg strapped to his waist. It comforted him knowing that if anyone attacked they would find him less than an easy prey. Which abruptly brought him back from the happiness, that he would never show, of meeting his friends. I must ask a favor of the two of you. What is going on? I recognize no colors of any country that I know. His calm composure only faltering for a second when he saw a man with the tail of a feline. It turned to one of shock. It was gone as fast as it was came. I see I will have much to learn about.

She didn't imagine that the other blacksmith would be so hasty in accepting her offer, but then again, it was a time after war. People were looking all around to get hired fast, from what she could see. It made her somewhat happy to see it. Already, her day was beginning bright.

"Enailios, it's nice to meet you." said the blue-haired woman, reaching her hand out for a handshake. "I'm Leena Smith. I run the magical goods shop that's down a few roads. I sell non-magic jewelry too, but those magical items are sure flying off the shelves a lot faster!" She said, chuckling.

"How would you like to see where my shop is... or are you too busy at your forge?" Leena continued, looking over at the weapon smith's workplace. "And of course, we can negotiate on business, like how much of a share of profits we'll each get, things like that... only if you have the time to swing by today. If not, it's fine! I'm just happy you're willing to sign up!"

D'Rias
Location: Eyris

For a moment the sunlight stunned their eyes as the sounds of a busy market street exploded around them. A sharp change from the quiet dripping of water in prison tunnels. D'Rias blinked and looked around. The dim black stone of Lagen prison had suddenly given way to a view of a street full of stalls and shops below. Both he and the guard had stepped throught the door out onto a staircase going up a nearby wall. The Shamans fists reflexively clenched as his body realized what his mind was just now grasping. The smell of oil, spices, fish, paints, and smoke, something had gone wrong, he was out. The precious few seconds it took the guard to realize this were all he needed to make a decision. Escape without Vegrmyrk was not an option. As coincidence, or fate, would have it, the guard next to him had been ordered to change the location of the tome and had thought it would be humorous to tease the mage by walking next to him. This act had given him the perfect chance. D'Rias quickly turned and raised his boot as the guard turned around to the door they had just walked out of, his face already pale as his hand reached for the handle. The foot caught the man squarely in the side and he lost his balance, tumbling down the stone staircase.

A soft groan was all that could be heard from the crumpled armored form as a pair of black gloves quickly searched the backpack the guard had on. An old tome, bound in grey leather and faded and cracked from old age was pulled out and D'Rias could not help but stop and look at it for a moment. Quckly he slipped it back in and took the pack, as well as any money and trinkets the gaurd had on him before quickly walking towards the nearest alley. The last thing he needed was to be around when the man began crying out for help. The chains around his wrists rattled as he walked while his eyes immediately began searching for the sign to a blacksmiths. The rune engraved shackles had bound him long enough, first he would need to get them off, once that was done he could figure out just where he was and how he had gotten there.

Vaida indeed would have had a difficult time dodging the blow, if she had chosen to dodge it. She could have avoided a hard hit, but the staff still would have hit her, which would have meant bet over. Yeah right.

With the bottom of the staff, Vaida blocked Wallace's and barely kept it from touching her. Her grip at first made her strain, so she lowered one of her hands for better leverage. She was still in a bad position though and she knew she had to get out of it fast, before his arms that were evidently more bulging with what could be muscle pushed passed her own. While she continued to hold him back, Vaida angled herself so that she could lift up her leg and kick Wallace back. She knew her heels had to have hurt.

With some new distance between them, Vaida charged with a fierce shout. She sent a jab to the lummox's chest, gut and head. She followed those jabs with a swing to his left side.

Mihira turned around to the girl, chuckling awkwardly. "Ehehheh... Well, she does have her moments..." The scout rubbed the back of her head, as she smiled. It then hit her that what she said pretty much confirmed the girl's comment, which may have unnerved the recruits.

"O-oh!" She suddenly interjected. "I-I don't mean that she's terrible or anything... She is very strict, but she really cares about all the soldiers, honest! She makes sure that everyone is at their best and capable of doing what has to be done. She's strict because she cares and wants to ensure top safety for everyone." Mihira smiled very sweetly at the recruits, and then turned around to continue watching the match.

"Although, this man may be causing her to get a little carried away..."

User Image"Nowhere I've heard of, ya say?" Leon responded as his rather quiet companion explained, but wasn't really one for speaking. Again, Leon remembered his earlier days, when he was quiet, formal, and a stranger to the world. "Ya could say that I'm from somewhere kinda far away too. A lot of us are." He said sincerely. The Captain was really hoping that just the new experience of Learania was the thing making Saifer nervous, and not his own presence.

And in seeing the one who was like himself when he was younger, the Watch's Captain realized just how far he'd come. If only the others could see him now, he mused. But of course, they wouldn't see him ever again. Thinking about his recent losses in Learania's war brought a noticeable shiver throughout him. He shook his head, blinking. "Not now, not now, dun' you even think about it right now!" he thought quickly.

"Sorry!" Leon said out loud, hiding his troubles behind a grin. "I'm still a bit... fatigued from the war is all! Just a few more days rest an' I'll be right as rain." Yes, maybe on the outside he would be. But on the inside, it was a whole different story.

Once Roy had filed out the paperwork needed to join the Host Club, he thanked his Uncle. It seemed like both Joshua and Ephraim had found a friend and went go bother him, leaving the young lord with Hikaru and Sue. He looked back at the two. "I need to go get some groceries, so I'll see you two later." he said softly with a smile.

He then headed off, towards the market.

Wallace

Before Wallace could use his superior strength to push through Vaida's block he was caught off guard by her kick which landed solidly in his stomach, causing him to stumble backwards. Damn that hurt! Curse the being who ever invented heeled shoes for women! He spat on the floor and glared at her.

Instead Wallace saw Vaida's staff heading straight for his chest. He dodged the first two strikes by dodging to the left and blocked the third upwards and to the rightwith his staff. Seeing the swing at his left he grinned at her and left his left arm up so that the strike hit him in the side of his chest with a loud crack. The he let go of his staff with his left hand and grabbed Vaida's with it pinning it to his side using his left arm to hold it firmly. He lowered himself into a stance that would make it very difficult for her to pull him over and his own strength would make it equally difficult for her to pull the staff from his grip. Damnation! That almost hurt as much as the kick! Probably bruised a rib or two. Not showing any sign of pain he continued smiling at her as he pulled her staff towards him and stabbed with his own staff at her stomach simultaneously. During this move however his rib flared in pain causing him to be slower and not time the move perfectly so that he was behind on his stab towards her stomach.

Saifer Griimro

Saifer said nothing for a few moments after Leon had spoken. The boy could somehow sense the same quiet intensity in the tone of the Watch Captain as he no doubt held in his own when he spoke of the far-away homeland. Still, while Saifer was only confused and lost in this world, he was still alone like back in Elibe. There really wasn't too much of a difference for him, but to someone like this person it may have been heartbreaking.

Without even realizing it, he was looking down at the table again. 'Calm down, idiot. Just be polite and you'll get paid...' he thought to himself, forcing his head back up and awkwardly meeting Leon's eyes before he spoke next. "The war, huh?" mumbled Saifer, recalling that unpleasant time he'd found a little safe zone in Eyris as the fighting broke out and ran away. He wondered if he should bring that up, though he could see where it wouldn't be a very honorable action to speak of. Then again, he hadn't been on either side (nor did he know which side was what). "Umm...who was the enemy? I kinda...uh, heard there was some fighting here..." He was asking this both out of curiousity and also to ascertain just who the hell decided to assault Eyris moments after Saifer had just stepped foot in it.

User Image"Ya mean ya dun' know who was fightin'? Ya musta been from further than I thought..." Leon commented, putting a hand under his chin. "Well, the war's far from over. The ones we were fightin' are Sentria and Mordache. Both nations of villains, I tell ya. But strong villains. If it weren't for Adliana an' Estarcia, who knows where we'd... where even I'd be right now..." he chuckled.

The great knight then sighed as he kept his gaze fixed ahead. "These ranks... they used to be a lot bigger, Saifer. The two finest officers in 'em taught me everything I know but..." he rubbed his temples as the story went on. That same old feeling of grief was rearing its ugly head. "They're gone now. They're all gone. But that's the way of war, ain't it?"

"So many would resign in my shoes, ya know." said Leon. "But I can't. With what I've seen so far, I know I'm doin' my old squad proud, and then some. I'll give us in the Watch a new future! Are ya with me on that, Saifer?"

Saifer Griimro

'Sentria and Mordache, huh?' thought Saifer, trying to think of where he'd heard those names before. He remembered one Learanian speaking of Mordache with a hint of displeasure in his voice back when Saifer was siphoning all the information he could about this new world he'd been thrown into. From what he could gather, Mordache was a region of villains and overall unpleasant people. All he got about Sentria, though, was that it was a desert country...but it really wasn't too hard to figure that they were 'bad' from what Leon had said. Personally, Saifer thought these were exaggerations...after all, no country could be all bad people, right? Even if those who said as such didn't mean to imply that all the citizens were evil, simply continuing to say such general statements might allow such an outlandish thought to exist on its own. From what it sounded like, that may have been the case already.

Oh well, not like he could change anything about that...nor did he care much for it apart from the passing thought. Still, it was sad how much venom the two sides apparently held against each other...and those personally hurt such as Leon who'd lost friends and comrades would probably fuel the fires of hatred for a good long time. "Did those people really die for a good cause or was it just meaningless?" he asked aloud and in a suprisingly clear voice, wondering if Leon himself thought the fighting was worth it. Saifer didn't know why Learania was at war with Sentria and Mordache so he couldn't say if the hostilities were justified. He reiterated his question, though, since it might have been a bit offensive. "If I know just what the Watch is fighting for, then I...umm...I'm with you...I guess."

He was feeling sorry for the man and the losses he must have suffered, but he was also trying to find some meaning in this world just as he'd subconsciously been trying to find it in Elibe. That was the reason for his somewhat probing questions.

User Image"It had to be a good cause they were fightin' an' payin' the ultimate price for..." Leon replied solemnly. "I remembered how all of 'em would sometimes serve what ya would call 'rough justice', but it was still justice none the less. My mentors, I guess you'd call 'em, wouldn't dare fight for anythin' else than to protect someone." Another one fought for a man's right to have whiskey on and off-duty, Leon mused, but the new ones amongst the Watch didn't need to know that.

"Anyway, that's our mission! We raise a shield where we can an' a sword when a shield ain't enough." said Captain Vatara proudly, grinning as the words came to him. "No matter how we do it, we keep the streets of Eyris safe for everyone, whoever they are! Be proud to be part of this, and dun' look so nervous. You'll be a great help since ya know how to... er, sneak around and over hear things."

Saifer Griimro

Saifer nodded respectfully and made a mental note of the passion in which Leon spoke. He felt a bit more pity for those faceless comrades of his that had perished, but still wasn't completely convinced. It was nothing against Leon or Learania, it was just how futile and sad the whole situation seemed - and this was coming from an offworld street rat like Saifer. They died in battle and yet the combat itself rages on, they died fighting for the future and yet the future only promises that such people would die again in the same way.

No matter what he thought, though, Saifer was fully intent on serving the Watch as best as he could so long as it was of benefit to him. Leon was a good guy and all, but Saifer wouldn't die for him in battle (or with him, for that matter). Of course, he kept that particular intention of his to himself. "Hmm...I suppose I can get into that," he said as genuinely as he could, trying to seem excited. He even added a slight chuckle over the last thing Leon said. "Haha, I'll do my best on that. I'd watch your stuff, though." The last thing was meant to be said jokingly, but even as he spoke Saifer figured that perhaps he shouldn't have even hinted at something like that.
