This was not the island, she reminded herself, and stubbornly kept going. They just had to keep going straight and they'd get to the end of this course and she could feed Tox all the candy he wanted, and, and ... She bit her lip. Don't think about it, she reminded herself, and glanced back to make sure Junko and Aoi were doing okay. When the tentacle rose out of the water, Siddie was almost relieved for the distraction, especially when the Nautical sitting calmly on its tip seemed content just to look. And then it fell. Before she could react, it had gone for Aoi, and then jumped across to fasten itself onto Tox. "Get off of him!" she shrieked, and started beating at the thing's shell.  Tox yowled loudly and squirmed, though his strength was leaving him as the Nautical fed. He wasn't going to take this lying down - metaphorically, at least. Junko stopped dead in her tracks at first, the memories of that dreadful place of death and chaos and...and.. "Awwww! It's adorable!" Junko cooed toward the nautical, gasping as it fell off the tentacle. Oh no! Was it okay?! As it whine she laughed affectionately and cooed at the cute little crying nautical uuuuntil it attacked Aoi. After that it wasn't as cute anymore. Aoi shrieked in pain and buried his face against Junko's chest. He wanted to leeeeeave! Junko frowned and pet him, murmuring soft words to the poor minipet. She was sorry! She'd figure out a way to get them out of here! Him and...poor Tox. Oh! Junko patted her side until she found the fear candy from earlier. "Hey! Look!" She held the treat out for the nautical so it could see what she had. "You want this? Go fetch!" She then chucked it as hard as she could in a direction away from them.

Calder was happy to start, and irked that everyone else was moving up ahead. Turning, he watched as everyone paired up and headed out. Rifling around, Calder pulled out Fester and set him upon his head for safe keeping before turning to Christof. Now that everyone was taking the course they choose, there was space and privacy for what Calder was about to do. Something he never did before non-kelpies. Swallowing, he looked about and breathed deep, before turning around and turning the Igor about. "Look that way." He ordered, not waiting for Christof to protest. He didn't want the boil gawking at him when he shifted. It was weird.
Not allowing for much time, he waited as a ghostly white fog started to form around him, and then, as it clustered and climbed around him, shifted.
When the mist settled, dissipating away into nothing, a white horse now stood. One that Christof had met once before. Shaking his mane a bit, he moved over and nudged Chrsitof with his muzzle before slowly laying down. It was riding time, and he was going to take that course like a boss.

For a minute Astra thought she was going to be in trouble, judging by Professor malcoms frown, but instead she was given...a puppy? How cute! She checked the collar to find out it's name, and smiled at the minipet. "Hello Julius!" she said to it, but was unsure weather the puppy was happy at that remark since she couldn't see it.
It was nice to be given a minipet to assist her on the course..but at the same time she did her best to hide her embarrassment at being given a partner instead of going with the other students. At least she wasn't the only one...
A growl behind her signaled Ryu's presence, and he did not seemed impressed at the new minipet. "Hush Ryu!" she held onto Juliets leash, and thankfully ryu seemed to quite down. Even if he did growl at any other minipet near him, he was used to seeing them since there were so many in her room so his anger quickly tempered off into mere annoyance.
"Don't be mean to Julius..." she cautioned, and then tugging gently on his leash she urged both minipets down the track

[Barth and Lilith]
A hike battling things. Like Christmas, except with less cheer.
Barth encouraged Glop a bit with his foot. Glop seemed about as excited about this session as he did.
"Your um, you're pretty good at this sort of thing, aren't you?" Barth asked Lilith, hoping she'd lead the way and take care of most of the fighty bits. He did like Glop. He thought Glop's chances of survival at this point were not looking good. But as long as they kept a slow, steady pace...he'd get to spend that slow, steady pace with Lilith.
That was the important thing to keep in mind.

Releasing Junko's Minipet immediately, it went after the treat, tiny tentacles flailing happily as it grabbed the treat. This gave time for both ghouls to run through the fog... By the time the Nautical was done with the treat and looked up at its two new friends, they were gone. Gone...
As the ghouls continued on, the sand eventually gave way to concrete again. They would spot Malcolm seated on a chair, waiting beside a table that had... Cups and bowls of hot chocolate and folded towels, still writing away on the piece of paper fastened to the clipboard.
"Grats, you're the first to finish," He smiled, looking up from the clipboard as they approached, "Grab a drink and a towel... Relax. You two made it through... The cups are for you, the bowls for the Minipets." You can't tell if the towel is for yourself or your Minipet... It seems like he wants you to decide.

On the way, he saw Israfel taking flight and he couldn't help but grin as he saw the Siren take wing. As he came up to West, he saw the Nauticle suddenly come flying right at Flamethrower, conking him in the head. "VOOOOIIIIIII!" he shouted before holding his cat out, "COME ON DOUBLE FLAME THROWER!"And thus both he and Flamethrower.... breathed fire at the creature. The cat happily obliged at this, seeing how it had hurt it in the first place! Jericho didn't get much fire out as he didn't want to end up torching his pet at the same time. The ground changed under their feet as they ran, putting enough distance between themselves and the hungry Nautical that it wouldn't attack Tox and Aoi again. Siddie almost felt sorry for the creature - it had certainly embarrassed itself. But it had a nice piece of candy in return, and wasn't feeding on Tox's FEAR, so the feeling never quite made it to actual pity. She blinked as they came to a halt in front of the professor. They'd made it through? First? How was that even possible? A smile slowly spread across her face, and she looked to Junko. "We made it! Um, thanks, sir," she added to Malcolm. She wasted no more time, picking up a towel and bowl of cocoa first, folding the towel into a nest for Tox and setting the bowl beside it. The schink settled grumpily and tiredly into the towel and stretched his neck over to lap at the hot liquid. Siddie watched him for a moment longer, then, satisfied that her minipet was comfortable, she picked up two mugs, offering one to Junko.

Junko stumbled a bit as the sand became concrete, the change in walking surface messing up her footing until she was able to get herself walking stably again. And there was Professor Malcolm just hanging out with snacks and towels. Junko picked up Aoi again, and he didn't fight it once again. He was tired and panting, closing his eyes and just resting against his owner. "We are?" That was a surprise! Had they done this too quickly? Junko looked around for signs of anyone else joining them, walking to the table to see what was on it. Hot chocolate? That sounded amazing. Hmm...the towels though? Neither of them were wet, nor were their minipets! But maybe if she made a little bed for Aoi to rest in so she didn't have to cradle him? Not that she minded doing that, just maybe he'd be more comfortable? She placed him on the floor long enough for her to grab a towel, fluffing it and placing it on the floor as a sort of makeshift bed before picking up the foxsquirrel and putting him on it. He grumped but didn't put up much of a fight otherwise. A bowl was the next thing she grabbed, smiling warmly at the little brat. "I'll give you lots to eat when we get back to my room, okay? You deserve it~." She looked up after just as Siddie offered her a mug, smiling and taking it from her. "Thank you! That wasn't..so bad, I suppose." Junko giggled a bit, sighing and standing again.
