Tensing a little as Desmond started the sweet talk, Shun tried to ignore it as much as he could. It wasn't easy though. But Mitsu probably could use all the comfort she could get right about now. From the sounds of things, she didn't remember much at all of the encounter.

Frowning, he kept his eyes averted as he gently squeezed her hand again.

"It wasn't a creature... it was a man. You... you called him Ginji but if that was your brother I don't think he's the same person.. I worked with him a couple times before and he... he's like a machine," the assassin recalled, "Apparently he decided it was time for me to die."

Lowering his head, he shifted his weight some, not really wanting to relive the night.

"He said you had to stay and watch.. Desmond tried to get you away and then the guy came for me again. You.."

Shaking his head there, he stopped himself.

"I thought I lost you..."

Practically falling into Klyde as she realized he was there, Riyo clung to his shirt and let out a relieved sigh. "A nap sounds amazing..." Mitsu was awake, she was being tended to by two handsome men, and both of them seemed to be doing just fine as well. Eh, everything wasn't perfect, but it was good enough.

"Don't act like you're not tired too. I bet... We'll both sleep like corpses tonight." ba dm chh. For a moment, Riyo laughed at her own joke... But it slowly faded when she realized laughing took a lot out of her. "C'mon then."

--

And then Desmond fell straight out of the loop. It was like he was on the other side of a piece of glass, and while they couldn't see him, he could see them and watch a conversation carry on as if he wasn't there.

"You worked with him before? Doing what? And why the hell would it be her missing brother?" Though he had remembered her calling out a familiar name right before he...

Ugh... What a ******** mess. "I don't understand any of this..." The vampire admitted, pulling up the chair Riyo had been sitting in.

"Do you just want me to leave or something?" he finally asked, looking at the ground dejectedly. He'd gotten his a** kicked three days into the future and the two of them still insisted on using phrases that he wouldn't fully understand. He felt like a child who's parents were whispering just above him.

"I am tired," Klyde admitted. Klyde attempted to laugh too but it was more in the 'haha very funny' way. Wrapping his arm around Riyo's shoulders he lead her in search of a place to lay down for a bit.

---

"I..I called him Ginji?" Mitsu didn't seem to remember that, though when she tried to think back the image of the man or creature was suddenly wavy and distorted. She saw a mask and a tail and that was all. "I...I couldn't have said that." Mitsu heart began to beat a little faster not wanting to believe that it had been Ginji in the alleyway. "Shun, G..Ginji has been gone for months. I...I don't think he's ever coming back." Her voice was suddenly very meek finally saying what weighed down her mind. Finally admitting she was giving up. There was no where to search, no remains, and no real evidence. "If he d...did come back, Ginji wouldn't hurt anyone." She insisted.

That's when Desmond spoke up and Mitsu realized that Shun had given a little too much info, or at least about his work. Desmond had no idea that Shun was an assassin. Eyes suddenly downcast she tried to calm her frantic heart because the monitor behind her was a dead giveaway that she was stressed. She didn't want to get Desmond involved....but he was already involved wasn't he? What should she tell him? Everything? Parts? What would he do? Would he try to go after Suto? Suto obviously didn't work alone so that was dangerous. And was the man who was supposedly after Shun from Suto? I...If it was Ginji had Suto...?

Her mind racing with questions she clutched the fabric of her hospital gown as her heart started to pound against her chest. It hurt pretty badly but she couldn't make it stop. "I'm sorry...that I haven't told you everything. I told you before...you weren't the only one with secrets." It had been back around Halloween but it still held true. "I...I didn't want you to get involved. I didn't want anyone involved. But it seems....everyone close to me is going to suffer no matter what I do."

Shun stared at Mitsu for a few moments, letting out a sigh.

"Like I said... if he really is your brother, he isn't the same person any more. Something happened. But that was the name you said... maybe in the chaos you got confused or something..." he said quietly before narrowing his eyes at Desmond. He seemed to be trying to think about how he could go about this without giving too much info about Suto. Judging the heart rate monitor, Mitsu was getting worried about this whole thing. He gave her hand a squeeze, but he wasn't sure if it'd help at all to calm her.

"Let's just say there's a decent chance I've killed more people than you have, Desmond," he said lowly with a dark look in his eyes, "And not necessarily through self defense."

Turning towards Mitsu again, his eyes softened and he let out a sigh.

"Don't forget what I said before. We'll find a way to get out of it."

"Haha, I d-" Desmond was about to respond to Shun, but immediately remembered who he was around and shut the ******** up. Alright. So Shun was like some kind of mafia b***h who killed people for money. That's the gist of what Desmond got from that. Did that mean the douche with the grudge was the same?

And then Mitsu's heart started pounding. Immediately, Desmond stood and put his hands on her shoulders, looking directly into her contrasting eyes.

"Mitsu. Listen to me." He enunciated very carefully. "I want YOUR problems to be MY problems. I'm not gonna just roll over and pretend nothing is happening. I don't want a facade of a happy life. And I don't want you to hide from me."

Doing his best to control the urge to shake her like a newborn baby, he let out a sigh before continuing. "When I say 'I love you' I don't mean 'I love the part of you that likes having sex with me' or 'I only love you on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if the weather conditions are overcast.' I. Love. You."

After his enthralling speech, he backed up slightly to give Mitsu some air. "And it hurts to know you would rather tell other people (Shun) about your problems rather than tell me.

Maybe she had been confused but the doubt now had her worried. Had it really been Ginji? What was wrong with him? In her confusion she barely noted Shun squeezing her hand or his explanation on what he did. Or at least hinting toward what he did.

She did, however, come to when Desmond placed his hands on her shoulders, those confused crimson eyes staring up toward him. His careful articulation made her feel like a child being scolded, it was something her brother always did when he wanted to make something very clear.

"Desmond I..." Mitsu glanced at Shun shortly, her heart leaping into her throat. If she told Desmond, what would he do? She couldn't protect him from what was going to happen....like she couldn't protect Shun. The more they knew the more dangerous it was. It wasn't like she had shared her secrets with Shun, he had found out on his own. She would have preferred him to never know as well.

"I love you too." Mitsu finally said. "And its because of that, that I didn't tell you. The less you knew the safer it was....until now. I'm still afraid...of what will happen if you know more than you already do. I don't want anything to happen to you...but I don't know how safe it is to be around me anymore." Her eyes started to fill with fresh tears as her gaze fell to her lap.

"Promise me...if I tell you, you won't do anything rash. I already worry about what will happen to Shun and it will be my fault in the end." She looked toward her friend again, those tears streaming down her face. The words he would say were already in her mind. He wanted to protect her, he choose this on his own, and so on, but it still didn't help erase the fact that he was now apart of her mess taking a share of her punishment. She had never wanted that.

While Desmond and Mitsu had their little exchange, Shun ended up letting go of her hand, though it was more of an unconscious reaction. He was tempted to leave the room at just that. How many times did he have to hear it?

"Even if you had the world against you I'd still stand by," he said quietly before looking towards the door. After a short pause, he ended up mumbling something else more angrily, "But as far as I can tell it's not you being the source of danger anyway. He's after me. If I had been alone in that alley you wouldn't have been hurt."

Shaking his head slowly, he started moving towards the door.

"He isn't the only one who wants me dead in any case. I've made a hell lot more enemies than I have friends over the years.."

God, it felt like Desmond was in some kind of cheesy love movie where everybody was trying to keep secrets from everybody else to keep them from being 'hurt'.

How deep in s**t could she possibly be? She was Mitsu. Sweet, adorable, heart-warming, innocent little Mitsu. "... I promise..." He said reluctantly, the suspense killing him.

The vampire was doing his best to ignore Shun's comments, the feeling that the guy was trying to step in continually in his mind. Hopefully he was finally ********' leaving.

Mitsu remained silent as Shun spoke. It wasn't entirely clear in her mind but...if she hadn't been with him would that man have been in the alley at all? There was no way to tell at this point and it did no good pressing such a grim matter. It sounded like it was making Shun angry anyway. "Shun...please. Be careful." Mitsu said softly as he headed toward the door. He kept hanging on and while she wanted to make him happy she could only seem to make him miserable. She felt like she was more trouble than she was worth.

With a soft sigh Mitsu turned back to Desmond her heart still pounding away. Where would be best to begin? She supposed...the beginning would do. "It's a long story. You might want to take a seat." Nervously she started to fidget with her blankets, worried about how Desmond was going to take this. She knew he would be upset but she wasn't so sure he wouldn't be upset with her as well.

After a few minutes of hesitation Mitsu began her story. She started back at the beginning of the year and how she had started to feel odd, explaining that the camping trip was when it had really started to settle in. She had been sick and had started showing signs of changes though at the time she didn't know what. That was when her eyes had changed.

Moving a little further ahead she went to the moment when she had snapped for the first time and attacked Shun without meaning to. How that day was the day everything had changed because Suto had made his intentions clear, threatened her to keep her quiet. The story seemed to progress from one thing to another, her voice wavering and hesitating at times. The incident at Halloween was the hardest thing for her to get through. Explaining to Desmond in the kindest way she could think of that she was basically a lab rat and that's why she had been so stitched up at the time. Why when she had said he was her sanctuary she had meant it, because he was her escape from the scientist. Her safe zone. And now after all of that her mind was failing her. Whatever he had done he had tampered too much and she was doing her best to stay sane. She required medicine that Suto especially made for her and without it she was certain the results would be undesirable.

She wrapped up to more current times on how Shun had found out about the ordeal and was now throwing himself in the path of the bullet. How it was all steadily going downhill and there was nothing she could do about it. Finishing up the last of what she knew Mitsu fell silent, her dull eyes focused on her hands afraid to look at the vampire. It was a lot to burden him with and she had a sinking feeling it was only going to backfire in the end. Just one more thing out of her control. "I'm sorry...."

There was a very heavy feeling in his heart as he paused by the door. He was trying to decide what to say or do exactly. It was tearing him apart to think on it. Closing his eyes, it felt like he was standing there forever and he even heard bits of the story Mitsu was telling to Desmond. Why did love have to make this whole damn thing so complicated?

With everything going to s**t, he didn't think he would be alive for much longer anyway.

"Goodbye Mitsu..." he said softly without turning around, "No matter what happens to me, I just..."

He hesitated there. He couldn't say it. Not with that damn vampire in the same room anymore.

"It doesn't matter. I hope you have a good life."

The assassin left the room then, planning on hunting down where they put his belongings. He would be making his escape from the hospital tonight.

It started off mildly enough...

As Mitsu talked about the camping trip, Desmond took a seat as she requested, quietly watching her fidget every so often. He didn't have a clue in the slightest where she was leading up to...

He'd known her eyes changed. Though it had been so subtle that he thought his mind was playing tricks on him at first.

It just seemed to get stranger and stranger as she led up to the clincher. Suto... The science teacher?

What the flying ********?

It sounded like a child's nightmare at first, but the more she went on, the more it made...

Sense? No... No It didn't make sense. How had all this happened right under his nose? How had he not realized that those stitches were real?!

He felt so naive... So stupid. His fists clenched together at the thought of what Mr. Adolphus had been doing to her all this time... How scared she must've been... And just how hard Halloween had been on her.

The guilt for what he'd done arose from the dead and seethed inside him, and a new found hate for the science teacher developed.

Yet... There was nothing he could do. He could charge in and try to kill Suto, but there were two problems. 1. The medicine Mitsu required, and 2. ... Lou.

Desmond knew Suto and Lou were close. Hell, the whole student body knew that. The bastards sat and ate lunch at their own little table, looking over the student body with sinister grins...

Lifting his hands to his face, Desmond hid himself behind them. He didn't hear what Shun was saying... Just what his own mind was saying. He... Was useless. Completely useless...

"I'm so sorry Mitsu." His voice was shaky as he spoke. What was he apologizing for? He felt like there was too much to list.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 26, 2011 7:50 pm

Mitsu's ears perked a bit when she heard Shun speak, her eyes drifting in his direction. "G...goodbye?" Why did that sound so...final? It wasn't just a goodbye see you later type of thing, especially with the 'have a good life' part tacked onto the end. "S..Shun wait.." But he was gone already down the hall and Desmond...he sounded miserable.

"P..please don't....don't apologize Desmond. I don't want you to apologize," Mitsu said trying her best to sit up. It obviously caused her pain though, it was apparent on her face and the monitor as it started to beep rather frantically. "It's not your fault. It's not anyone's fault." Pressing a hand to her chest Mitsu held back a whimper. The muscle felt like it was pulling and taring making it hard to breath and her back was tender all the way down.

Looking toward the door Mitsu silently contemplated if she could make it in time to see Shun. If he would still be in the hall or if he would just have vanished like the wind. But what would she say exactly? Nothing she had said so far had made a difference. If anything it had only made it worse. It seemed like she was still going to try though as she started to pull the oxygen tube away from her face. "I...never really told you or Shun how much you truly helped me." She said swinging her legs over the bed before fiddling with the other tubes and wires in her way. "If I didn't have you, Shun, and Riyo....I wouldn't be here." Her voice sounded so certain of it as she slid off the bed toward the floor, her bare feet touching the cold tile. "I know you don't like Shun but he's...he's like my..." And then Mitsu realized what Shun was to her in her mind. It was a strange relationship but something like what she had lost.

"He's ...like my brother and I don-" She hadn't even made it to the wire that had her hooked up to the heart rate monitor but the machine went from frantic beeping to silence as her blood pressure dropped. Swooning on the spot she fell back against the bed suddenly light headed and dizzy. She had exerted herself too much in a short period of time.

Making it back to his hospital room, Shun took a moment to place a hand over his chest. The look on his face was one of absolute misery. It hurt to just leave like that, but... this was for the better. He didn't want to put her in danger again. If he wasn't around, she couldn't get hurt because of some guy trying to take him down. She also wouldn't have to be there when he finally bit the dust too.

It just... seemed like the best thing to do for her sake if he vanished. The assassin would have to try and be under the radar as much as possible while he was healing anyway.

For what he felt was best, it sure hurt like hell. Just when he finds he didn't lose her... gives her up.

Shaking his head slowly, he went to gather his belongings, changing into his clothes and started to make his escape.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 26, 2011 8:26 pm

As the sound of Mitsu's struggling caught his ears, he looked up at her, shocked by what he saw. She... She was trying to get up.

"M-mitsu!" Immediately he stood, ready to catch her if she fell the other way. Luckily, it hadn't been necessary.

Like her brother, huh?

Desmond glanced toward the door with a frown. Hopefully that brother wouldn't disappear too then.

Not that he liked Shun. Hell, he hated Shun. But... The fact that she saw him as a brother made his presence less bothersome, he supposed.

"I understand Mitsu..." The vampire spoke softly, approaching her bed and reaching for her legs. He didn't want to put her in more pain, but at the same time he didn't want her laying off the bed sideways. Doing his best, he gently moved her back to her original position. "I'm sure he won't disappear forever. He..." The vampire let out an exasperated sigh as if it was bothersome to say what he was about to say. "Cares about you too much..."

"And..." carefully, he took a seat next to her on the bed, using as little space as he could. "I'm not upset. Well, I am. But... I understand... Why you did that... Just-" pausing for a moment, he took one of her hands and placed a kiss on her small fingers. "Let me know from now on. I don't want you to carry all these burdens by yourself..."

Mitsu frowned a bit as Desmond put her back into bed, holding back a hiss of pain, but there was no helping it. She didn't have the strength to stand or do much of anything really. Once back into bed Mitsu rested her head against the pillow focusing on Desmond as he spoke. She hoped he was right...that Shun wouldn't be gone forever. He was so emotionally unstable lately she just wasn't sure what he was going to do.

Nodding slightly to Desmond, Mitsu squeezed his hand lightly. "L..lay up here with me?" She asked scooting over in the bed. She was small enough she didn't take up much room. "I don't want...to be by myself." Already she was growing tired again but the thought of being alone weighed on her heavily as did the thought that Shun was going to leave.
