Mac was happily by himself, murmur-singing the lyrics to a shanty about dead and murdered sailors. Well, Pirates.
Fifteen men of 'em stiff and stark Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Ten of the crew had the murder mark! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead Or a yawing hole in a battered head And the scuppers' glut with a rotting red And there they lay, aye, damn my eyes Looking up at paradise All souls bound just contrawise Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.
Feeling a tug on the line, Mac brought it up to find...a tin can? Didn't that Demoness find two of them? Black eyes surveyed the deck in order to find the Demoness that had the tin-can curse, and luckily she was just coming back on deck when he spotted her. Perhaps it was out of boredom, or perhaps it was a deliberate attempt to rile her up, but he waved to get her attention, a rather wide grin on his lips.
"Yo, with an expression that sour, no wonder there's no fish!" He called out, more amused than annoyed of course, and held up a rusted can of his own for her to see.

Arachne smirked; 'Really, you're blaming my mood on your inability to catch a fish? Maybe you're just bad at it, same as me.'
She walked over to where he was stood, and looked down at the water. 'Besides, a little annoyance is allowed, this trip hasn't been the most fun - or the driest and fishing just because our wonderful Professor decided to binge on our remaining food hasn't helped.' she leaned on the railing, her hair brushing her shoulders as she turned to look at the boil.
'Or do you plan on not eating for the rest of the journey?' she chuckled, not imagining that any of the students that needed food would want to go without thanks to Professor Blue.

"Nah, I'm blaming you." Mac said point-blank. "I caught a nice fish before you stormed off in a bitchy huff." It was hard to tell just how serious he was; sure he had a general dislike for every Demon who wasn't Charlie (because Charlie didn't count as a demon, not even enough to get a captial 'D'), but this one actually jumped into the water to save a Monster. She couldn't be that bad. Of course, he still maintained a bit of a distance from her.
"On the plus side, we're all very clean now." All the spurr-of-the-moment baths tended to do that, even if the bath was salty. "And no, I don't want to starve, so you better start smiling before the fish stay away for good." This time, there was something serious to his voice, but it was likely more from the part about not wanting to starve and less from the threat he was offhandedly making.
He cast the line.
Nothing.
"See? Your fault." He chided with a click of his tongue, leaning the fishing pole against the rail. "We're going to starve, and it's 'cause ---- huh." By this point, Mac had draped his arms over the railing, slouching to put his weight against it, and he looked curious. "You know, I don't think I know your name."

'A bitchy huff?' Arachne looked at him; was he trying to provoke her? He seemed to forget where exactly they were, and how easy it would be for him to go in the water - accidents were happening all the time after all.
'I took the fish down to the kitchen before it got eaten, and as I wasn't here, it was your skill to be blamed. As now.' she said firmly. Joking or not, he wasn't laying anything on her, no one around was really in the greatest of moods.
'I'm clean all the time. I can't speak for anyone else though.' she said archly, and then laughed. 'Really? If you don't want to starve, lock up the food.' She smiled anyway, at the thought that her mood would matter one way or another to what happened to their food stores. If she could influence that much, she would be happy and delightful the entire rest of the trip if it got them there in one piece.
'You never asked. It's Arachne.'

"A Bitchy Huff." Mac confirmed, not even bothering to acknowledge her explanation. Sure he heard it, but where was the fun in letting her convince him otherwise! He did chuckle a little at her comment about being clean, shaking his head and ruffling his fingers through his hair; ugh, he felt naked without his hat! Hopefully, it dried soon. He missed it.
"I never bathe." He drawled sarcastically, pausing his leaning on the rails to pick up the fish he had left by his foot. "Mac." He introduced himself, though she no doubt knew that already. It was tempting to introduce himself as 'Leander', his real name, however 'Mac' was his preferred and most used anyway...so, Mac it was.
"Well, Arachne." He emphasized her name, his fingers caught in the gills of the fish to keep it from slipping out of his hands. "I'm going to take this down to the kitchen, then." Whether or not she wanted to join him was up to her, though he didn't put any effort into going out of his way to invite her along. It was a free boat, she could do what she wanted.

She wasn't even going to rise to the bait, she could do bitchy huffs, but this time she knew she wasn't. She also knew she was being as genial and as open as she'd been since joining the Academy, but he wouldn't know that.
'Then you need to go in the sea every day.' Arachne deadpanned. 'I won't be jumping in after you though.' she nodded as he gave his 'name', though she did already know it now.
'Don't let me stop you.' she waved a hand, and turned leaning with her back against the wooden railing now, doing something she'd never ever done. She watched him leave, eyeing his rear and grinned. She wondered if Elizabeth would be commenting on her behaviour if she was on the same boat. It was possible.

"Good." Mac chuckled, shaking his head. "I won't bother jumping in after you, either." He was already turning away from her, raising the fish in a gesture that more or less solidified their apparent accord while bidding her goodbye. For now, at least. This was a good place to be, he thought; they weren't too friendly, nor were they about to rip each others heads off. A good place, yes. Indifference. It worked.
The Reaper headed below the deck, having the strangest feeling that his retreat was being watched...

((Fishing: Nothing))
The more he tried, the more Gabrian decided this was apparently useless. His gaze shifted from his line, which remain immobile (indicating no fish was even going near it), to the wide ocean before him. What the nix really, really wanted to do at that moment in time, above anything else, was to jump into the damned water, shift to serpent form and then possibly work out his frustration by swimming, jumping and trashing around in the ocean.
The most frustrating part of this whole journey was not the actual lack of water, but rather, the fact it was right there, just out of his reach. Technically, it was just within reach, actually, it was just that he wasn't being allowed to touch it.
A small sigh escaped his lips as he reeled his line in and then cast it again, hoping for better luck.

((Okay, so you don't fail completely at fishing, Gabe. Good.
Fishing: 10lb))
The demon had been so preoccupied pondering as he stared longingly at the ocean that when he felt his line start to tug and pull, he visibly startled. His head, which he'd been pillowing on the arm he'd propped up on his knee... slipped from it's position and he almost lost the fish and the fishing pole in the process, "Jack!" this was yelped more than growled as he attempted to regain his composure and reel whatever it was he'd caught, in.
His efforts paid off when he apparently reeled in a nicely sized fish, which he eyed critically, "This would have been a lot easier if I could just use my other form and jump into the water to hunt," but then again, maybe the others wouldn't have appreciated eating fish which he'd caught with his jaws. Fair enough.

On deck with his rather pathetic fishing pole, Ren had at least managed to catch two small, five pound fish. Not that he had any intention whatsoever of actually eating the fish. On the contrary, it was making him quite nauseated to just look at the disgusting things, his stomach churning uncomfortably. Slimy and gross, that's what they were. Plus they reeked of saltwater and brine; not a combination Ren found very pleasing - or appetizing, for that matter - in the slightest. He cast a rather disparaging glance at Alwine, managing a weak smile in the ghoul's direction.
"You're welcome," he said, in answer to her surprise over his earlier compliment of her fishing techniques, then turned his head to give Gabrian a relatively withering stare. Well. As withering as a seasick, miserable, half-drowned and half-starved gryphon could give to a water demon.
"Do not liiikeeee seaweed," he mumbled grumpily, scratching the back of his neck. Though it would look like he would have no choice if ti came down to things, since he would not touch the fish with a ten foot pole - no pun intended.
A few feet away from them, it seemed as if Mac and Arachne were having some sort of discussion, though by the looks of it, it was neither pleasant nor fun. Tempers seemed to be running a bit higher than usual as of late; Ren suspected that it had something to do with the very obvious lack of food, as well as the fact that they had now been out at sea for two weeks. Two Jacking weeks. It felt like years. Ren was missing the others dearly, and it almost physically pained him to think about them. LW, Alessa, Jove, Vaith and Natalia, as well as the others...how are they doing? he thought miserably to himself. I wonder if a text message would get though to them...
He had no real idea if it would work; after all, they were in the middle of an ocean, but Ren reached around, sticking a hand into Gabrian's pocket and fishing out his skellyphone. Fiddling around with it, he typed out a short message, then pressed send.Text Message to LW Testing, testing, 1,2,3, testing...are you there, little wolflove..? It was a long shot, after all, but at least it wouldn't hurt to try.

While in the process of attempting to real in the enormous ten pound fish (he might as well get food for the others, even if he was not going to eat himself), Ren was startled to hear a familiar chiming noise. Jumping slightly, he hauled the stupid fish up on board, where it flopped across the deck, making wet, squelchy noises and leaving a trail of watery slime. However, Ren was less concerned about the fish and more concerned about the text he had received from LW:Text From LW: KITTEN!!! OMG I HATE BOATS. And I missss youuuu!!! And Gabrian toooooo! Also, BRB- trying to not get hit by table. A huge, overwhelming sense of relief coursed through him, and Ren clutched the phone in both of his hands, dropping the fishing pole. LW had texted him. She was alive and she was - wait, what table? Ren's expression went from elated to confused to worried all within a few seconds. He reached over, tugging at Gabrian's sleeve.
"Gabrian, Gabrian!" Ren said, practically shoving the phone into his best friend's face. "Gabrian, look! I got a text from LW!"
Without waiting for a reply, Ren's fingers moved to type up a response to the shewolf:Text to LW: Wolflove! LW I miss you!! Gabrian does too! He says hi! It's been a pretty rocky ride; we're out of food, so we have to fish. Oh, and I got thrown overboard and almost drowned. That was fun. LW please be safe! Don't get attacked by any tables! Send. And then, just to see, Ren typed out a message for Alessa too; he did miss her quite terribly.Text to Alessa: Lesssaaa I miss you! How are you doing on your boat? Are you okay? Are you safe? Is Jove there with you? Is he okay? I miss you guys lots.
p.s. Gabrian says hi too.

When Mac had gone out of view Arachne had turned again, looking out at the sea, and occasionally moving her head to watch Gabrian and Ren's efforts at fishing. They both had caught at least one fish, so that was something, and if their Professor could hold off on the devouring of food they should be good again for a few days. She hoped at any rate.
At a small sound from Ren's direction she turned, watching his reaction to receiving what was obviously a text. She guessed he had other friends somewhere out there on the other boats. How were they all faring? She wondered that and also when they would get to their destination, though right now it seemed they were going in circles as there was no way to gauge distance travelled.
She left the deck, these thoughts in mind and went into her room, getting out her tarot cards before heading back up onto the deck once more.

Rosc glanced over at Gabrian as he spoke, shrugging a bit. The other problem he had with singing was that it was the type of music that one could do and not realize when it sounded horrible. Something to do with the sound in your head versus the sound in your ears or something like that. But he didn't want to argue the subject anymore.
His vision moved to the fish he had caught, considered taking it down to the kitchen or galley or whatever it was... Yeah. He stood and picked up his things, namely the fish and the pole, and moved away from the other students without a word, heading below to put things away.
He wasn't gone long, but he had taken the time to stop by his room to get a few pieces of jerky he had brought. There wasn't much left after the time they had spent on the boat, certainly not enough to really feed anyone, but he had packed for the worst, after he'd heard about the Christmas trip. Rather than return to his previous spot, he opted to lean his arms on a rail, appearing as if he was staring out into the vastness that surrounded them, chewing thoughtfully.
He missed solid ground beneath his feet. Missed his pets. Missed his cello. Missed Sin. He wondered how her boating experience was going. Did the other boats have students being randomly catapulted into the sea or told they had to jump in in order to prove they could survive it? He hoped not.

(( GM EVENT... By the way. No one should KNOW Blue ate the food as it was not somewhere the students could go into. That would just be foolish to allow students access to the food supply. ))
