Like hell I won't. Riley grumbled in response to Jericho, as she got to her feet and began a determined stalk towards the strip. Yes, towards the quickly moving, strangely shaped boxes, that seemed to say 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS' with their effortless speed. It challenged her, and she was determined to walk right across.

They WOULD stop.

She had just barely touched the curb with her foot when Junko's arm wrapped around her, and held her fast in place. Her words, however, struck a cord in Riley that made her back up a step or two.

The human world? Another glance around did not confirm nor deny this possibility, but.. she wasn't allowed here.

It can't be..

"I'm all right for the most part... a bit dizzy from that flash but no worse for wear, really. And this is Luka, that's right." Luka's ears perked at hearing her say his name and he yapped out a somewhat cheerful greeting. Natalia made him feel better about not being afraid of the fog and he was feeling better at the lack of fog. And since his brain didn't work right, he had no idea what was going on or where they were. Nor did the pet truly really care. "We were going for our daily walk when we noticed the odd fog and noises... did you bring pets?" Something told him that he was right, as a sudden fear seemed to fill her face and she began to look around in worry.

"Did you need help locating yours? I'll help... maybe we can catch a better look at where we are... get a better idea maybe?"

Reaching out Sammy grabbed both Riley and Junko tugging them away from the edge of the curb and the moving boxes. "Riley, you might be a mindflayer, and a demon, but whatever those are I'm pretty sure they would crush you flat in an instant if you try anything right now." Glancing back at Jericho she shrugged slightly held back by the two other students she just tugged. "Agreed, and I still think punching them would just result in one of us being crushed flat."

Giving Junko a slight shake she released the girl frowning along with Riley, "Human world? Jack-no, we need approval and passports and all kinds of stuff to visit that place. How could a bunch of students just 'walk into' the Human world?" it was a decent theory, but Sammy hoped to Jack it wasn't true.

Gabrian's gaze was still focused on the large, speeding, wheeled boxes, his ear fin perking up as he heard Natalia's voice point out that she much rather the fog. He used his perch on Ren in order to peer over the student's heads, spotting the were-lemur just a small bit away, "Natalia? We're right here!" he moved his tail slightly, arching it up in the air to beckon her over, without realizing that by doing so he was pretty much placing all his weight over Ren. No matter how strong the gryphon might be... well, Gabrian was python sized, and weighted just as much, "Errr..." he lowered his tail back down and looked sideways at the other boil, "Sorry about that," it was murmured, his ear fins falling down, and while sincere, it was like someone was clawing the apology out of him.

"I think... we're not going to manage too many introductions anymore, LW," he sort of wished he had hands so he could pat her or otherwise reassure the poor ghoul. She was pretty much clinging to Ren while she ran a hand down the nix's snake body, and in all honesty, Gabrian felt pretty bad for the wolf, "It'll be fine if we stick together. We've seen worse," probably. Maybe. Who the hell was he even kidding?

His perch on Ren allowed him to see the other students quite clearly, as well as the strange, black wasteland with the zooming wheeled items, "On second thought, I am not sure throwing anyone, ghost or not, out there is a good idea," he looked at Lizzy and offered her a smile (which was more of a smirk due to his serpent form), and then raised his voice to address the group, "Why don't we attempt SCARING those things? If there's chaos... we might be able to cross?" scaring things was supposed to be their specialty, was it not? "When in doubt... scare, right?"

It was right about then that he heard Junko's claim though, and he stiffened, "Wait, what?" a pause, "Is that even possible? Oh, Jack... if that's true, we're in a heap of trouble."

As the demon wound up like he was ready to just start punching things Junko frowned and tightened her hold on Riley, silently begging her to not continue forward as well. They looked far too dangerous for this group right now! She nodded and gestured to Gabrian's suggestion of scaring the...er...they were humans, right? This was the human world, right? And they were from Halloween! It was their job to be scary! "Someone could throw a big rock?" Junko suggested with a small smile. She wasn't sure about everyone else, but Junko damn well knew that if someone threw a rock at her she would do everything in her power to not be hit by the rock...even if it meant crashing into someone else and causing a huge mess.

Surely, if they all crashed and hit together that would stop their motion, right? Several of the students in their group looked like they'd be willing to throw things as well. She frowned a little at Gabrian's disbelief. "I don't know...but I mean...come on! The sky is blue!" Junko pointed up at the sky. "Halloween does not have a blue sky, and this is definitely not Christmas Town." Jack forbid they end up there again. But yes, if this was the human world...they were in so much trouble.

But why wasn't someone coming to get them if this really was the human world?

Jericho's eyes widened as he saw Riley teeter towards the edge. It was a good thing Junko had clung onto her. Listening to what the others were saying, he frowned and looked around.

"Do you see a big rock around here we could throw?"

Aside from that their options were rather limited. The amount of FEAR here seemed even less than that of Christmastown. He supposed that it really could be the human world, which intrigued him more than made him worry about how they were in trouble if they were caught here.

Malodore had been comforting Luce - the cwn pup was, for once, strangely inconsolable. She was trembling and clingy, letting out a constant low-level whimper. Not good, not good...

It arrived at the side of the odd gray expanse a bit late, Luce in its arms. "I do not believe those boxes are organic constructs. They appear mechanical." It sniffed the air... and while its rigid beak could not actually wrinkle in disgust, the mental reflex was definitely there. What rank fumes they disgorged!

"They run on wheels, it seems... perhaps we could halt their movements by interrupting their tracking, or damaging the wheels directly..."

Turning Sammy frowned at the site of poor Luce curled up in Malodore's arms. Poor thing looked more shocked then they all were. "Evening doctor, didn't see you earlier." Turning back to the boxes she watched as many more shot by. "Well that takes us back to Jericho and looking for a rock. Either that or finding a small student we could toss across the path...."

"I still think that rather than throwing an item directly at them, since I... don't see anything of the sort, we should try scaring them," of course, it was right around then that Malodore pointed out they were mechanical, "Maybe someone's driving them?" Gabrian did the serpentine equivalent of a shrug, "Like the Santa Scouts?" he motioned towards the wasteland and the zooming vehicles, "We can probably stand to the side and do what we do best?"

Junko's head turned when she heard the whimpering, her heart just about shattering at the sight of poor Luce. So frightened! "Awww, Luce!" She cooed, frowning at the small puppy. Poor thing! She'd been so brave in Christmas town but now she looked so terrified! Junko reluctantly let go of Riley only so she could move closer and try to pet the pup on her head, scritching behind her ear and under her chin. "It'll be okay, Luce. Your daddy is here to protect you!" Her daddy was, of course, Malodore in this case.

Her fingers were still petting poor little Luce when she looked to Jericho and shrugged, looking around until Sammy suggested they throw a student?! What?! That was an awful idea! Junko looked appalled by the idea, staring at Sammy like she was crazy. "You can't throw a student! They could die! ...Possibly again!" Considering some students were ghosts or undead, Junko wasn't sure if they were 'born' undead from a pumpkin or if they were...er...created...?

Sammy only shrugged at Junko's objection to her idea. "We range in size and strength quite a bit, one of us might even be able to clear it with a good toss. Just a thought." Glancing at Jericho, "If he could turn into a dragon this would be a hell of a lot easier to deal with, but I'm pretty sure were all sapped of FEAR. I feel like I'm walking in water almost for that matter it's been drained so much."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:24 pm

"I've already tried changing. It seems I'm stuck like this," Jericho grumbled. He didn't even have enough strength in him right now to get his wings to work. Heading back to square one, he looked towards Malodore with its suggestion. It could very well work, but again they would need something they could use to try and damage the wheels.

"Wait... do we have any reapers here?"

The dragon quickly looked around the group to see if there were. If a reaper was amongst them and happened to have a rather sharp weapon at their disposal, that could potentially work.

Malodore nodded at Junko; Luce whined again (a little louder than the barely-audible constant whimper she'd been keeping up ever since they arrived) and wagged her tail only once at the girl. It was a sad, pathetic tailthump. The plague doctor scratched behind her ears and gave Junko a worried shrug before focusing again on the problem at hand.

"They could be controlled." Malodore squinted at the boxes as they zoomed by - unfortunately, they were moving so rapidly that it couldn't really make out anything of the kind, one way or another. "If we cannot make out their handlers - if they have them - I imagine their handlers might not be able to focus on us either."

This was A Challenge. Malodore mentally scowled at the boxes. "Disabling is probably a more direct approach..."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:28 pm

Riley didn't seem the least bit worried about the giant metal boxes crushing her. She felt confident that they would stop, if she was persistent enough. She heard Malodore's voice, and turned, before her eyes slit.

Yesss, she hissed, clearly on board with that idea. I like that one. Let's cause some damage.

She turned back towards the cars, her tentacles already slithering upward in motion. They rose to their full length, before sharpening at their ends and tightening to look as taut as lances.

Let's pop some wheels.

"You fussed when I sat on a tentacle once, and now your going to try and stab a moving target that probably weighs as much as Jericho in his true form? Riley are you insane?" She shook her head at the ghoul before turning back to Jericho, "That might work, but what if we don't have any reapers? What's the next best thing?"
