”Here you go Professor; it’s my homework on the Polyjuice Potion.”

Ingredients for the Polyjuice Potion are as follows; 12 lacewing flies that have been stewed for 21 days, 1 ounce of crude Antimony, 4 leeches that have been "unsucculated," 16 scruples of fluxweed that was picked at full moon, 3 drachms of pulverised Sal Ammoniac, Pulverised blades of knotgrass, 1 pinch of powdered horn of a Bicorn that has been "lunar extracted," Filings and rasplings of Saltpeter, Mercury and Mars, Shredded dried skin of a Boomslang, and the most unique ingredient, Extract of The-Transfigured-Being-To-Be. It takes at least one month to brew properly. Before this final ingredient is added, Polyjuice looks like thick, dark mud that bubbles slowly. When the piece of the person to be imitated is added, however, the potion changes colour; it seems to react according to the nature of the person to be imitated, once even described as the 'essence' of the person. Good-hearted people result in more attractive colours and tastes, while mean people cause the opposite effect.

I've got my own set of books at home." She gave another grin as she walked out of the classroom door to do her foot-long parchment page. The Polyjuice Potion is an extremely complicated potion to make. If brewed properly, the potion allows the drinker to temporarily transform himself into the physical form of another. It is highly noted that the potion is only intended for the use of human to human transformations only. There has only been one occasion where a part-human has sucessfully transformed into another human and has transformed back into their original state, and that person is Fleur Delacour.
Most of the ingredients of the Polyjuice Potion are common ones found in most ordinary wizards' stores in their homes. Easy enough to come by and very cheap at that. A few of the ingredients are tricky to obtain and usually cant be found or obtained unless from a apothecary at a very heafty rate. The known ingredients are as follows:
1. 12 lacewing flies that have been stewed for 21 days
2. 1 ounce of crude Antimony
3. 4 leeches that have been "unsucculated" (meaning their suckers have been removed)
4. 16 scruples of fluxweed that was picked at full moon
5. 3 drachms of pulverised Sal Ammoniac
6. Pulverised blades of knotgrass
7. 1 pinch of powdered horn of a Bicorn that has been "lunar extracted"
8. Filings and rasplings of Saltpeter, Mercury and Mars
9. Shredded dried skin of a Boomslang
10. Extract of The-Transfigured-Being-To-Be, (the most common extract people use is hair, though other things like blood may be used)
To make the Polyjuice Potion properly it takes at least one month to brew. Notice how it says at least, this means to the untrained potion maker it may take longer. If the potion is brewed correctly, at the end of the month it should look like thick dark mud that bubbles slowly. You can add the extract of the person you wish to become right into the cauldron or wait until you pour a bit of it into a cup. Once you add the extract, the potion will change color and most likely taste. The color and taste of the potion will depend entirely on the nature of the person you wish to become. For instance, if you wished to become Voldemort, the potion may look like a Mandrake's vomit and have the smell of rotten Norwegian dragon dung. On the other hand, if you wished to turn into Hermione Granger, the potion make take an appealing color of pink or purple and smell of flowers or fruit. ...6th Year Slytherin ((I spent like 20 minutes on this lol.))

I finish up my potion and bottle it up, before cleaning my work station. I gather my belongings and walk to the front of the class to give the Professor my potion sample.
"Here Professor, I hope I have better luck with partners next time." I say before walking out of the class to start on my paper.

A single dose of it usually allows one hour in the other's form, and more must be taken for the user to continue assuming that form. The Polyjuice Potion is not recommended to be used to transform into non-human animals, or half breeds. The ingredients are as follows:
1. 12 Lacewing Flies, stewed for 21 days
2. 1 ounce of crude Antimony
3. 4 leeches that have been unsucculated
4. 16 scruples of Fluxweed that was picked at the full moon
5. 3 drachms of pulverised Sal Ammoniac
6. Pulverised blades of knotgrass
7. 1 pinch of powdered Bicorn horn, lunar extracted
8. Filings and rasplings of Saltpeter, Mercury and Mars
9. Shredded dried skin of a Boomslang
10. A piece of the person the Brewer wants to transform into (Usually a strand of hair)
The Polyjuice Potion before the Piece of Person is added generally looks thick, dark and brown, like mud - and bubbles slowly. Once the last ingredient is added, it is said that the potion reacts according to the 'essence' of the person. Usually, the potion just changes color and flavor. The potion can be used by a person to transform into someone of the opposite gender. Polyjuice Potion can be taken in large doses to keep the user in their desired form for longer. If a person dies while under Polyjuice Potion, they will retain the form of whoever they have transformed into, rather than reverting back to their original shape.

8. Filings and rasplings of Saltpeter, Mercury and Mars("filings of Mars" may mean iron filings, as the symbol for the planet Mars, ♂, is also used to signify the element of iron )
9. Shredded dried skin of a Boomslang
10. Extract of The-Transfigured-Being-To-Be (which means a piece of the person one wants to change into, typically hair)
Most of the ingredients are available in the students' cupboard at Hogwarts, although some of them are only available in Severus Snape's private stores. It takes at least one month to brew properly.
