((Perlie is accusing Oliver again.))

Going to check the lights seemed like a fine idea to Perlie who'd been about to say so when she'd noticed a movement out of the corner of her eye and then Salali had suddenly slumped over, seemingly unresponsive to the world.

And the lights hadn't gone out. Suddenly getting the Reaper host to check the controls didn't seem nearly as important as it had two minutes ago, but something else sure did.

Perlie whipped around to point, wide-eyed and shaking, at Oliver: "You! Why did you move?! You were moving, I saw you! Y-you jumped, or something -" truth be told it had been rather hard to see exactly what he'd done from her point of view, but she'd certainly noticed him doing something, "- what did you do to her?!"

Well. Hell's frozen corners. Breic had thought it'd be another few hours of people pointing fingers of blame at one another. At least some of them thought the pairing up idea was a good one. Better than being shrugged at like the first time he'd said anything.

But there was nothing. No warning, just the thump on the table and then Salali slumping beside him. He gave her a nudge, just in case she'd simply fainted from over-excitement before the train staff came to take her away. Then, he moved of course, but he didn't watch them carry her out. No, he took a very careful look around the cabin at the rest of the occupants, eyes narrowed.

"So who was keeping an eye on the ghosts?"

"Maybe there's two of 'em," Puck said, in hushed tones. "One cutter 'n' one whomper."

"I like the idea of a bud-" The Necromancer nodded at Jack, but never got a chance to finish his sentence. At the sudden noise, Fauste almost jumped up from his seat, but managed to compose himself as he immediately turned to the source of the sound. He stared at the broken plate on the floor for a few seconds before inclining his head to look at the shaman, an eye brow lifted - did she fall asleep despite all the commotion? His heart skipped a beat, however, when Ghaun confirmed that she was the third victim of the night.

"W-What? So it seems like the faulty lights are just that - faulty lights," He paused, biting his lower lip just as the lights went out again, half expecting a victim number 4. His eyes followed Haku as he was led away, sighing when the door to the next cabin closed and the Inugami went out of sight; he was sure that Haku was - is - innocent.

Turning to Oliver when he was addressed, Fauste forced a laugh as he shrugged, "After everything that had happened so far, the idea of a possessed train don't seem to be so impossible!" A sigh escaped his lips before he continued, his voice lowered as well, "And if all the attacks so far were done by magic, I suppose a reaper-class might be the cause..."

He then went quiet again for a minute, "Don't think any one of us students here can have that level of magic though right? Unless there's more than just one of them attacking us like the Poltergeist suggested..."

"Don't know if anyone was keeping an eye on me, but we're pretty tightly packed in here and the lights didn't go out this time, so I reckon your whole row would've noticed if you did anything, ghost or not. The only I saw move was Suspicious Guy Number One over there." She nodded in the acid monster's direction.

"You really think there could be two?" She turned to look at the other poltergeist, clearly distressed at the thought of two culprits instead of just one. "But then.. wouldn't they have had to collaborated somehow? Talked? I mean, no-one here was talking all secretly together-like, were they? It was pretty much a talking free-for-all, I thought."

((Belladonna is not accusing for the moment.))

Now that an attack had happened without the use of lights it seemed as if they were all doomed. Her nerves had no where else to go, they had reached their limit and she was scared almost beyond comprehension. That poor girl hadn't done a thing but say things a little differently! Now she was drained of energy and being carted off. Who could do a thing like that?

But, ah, wasn't that all there was left to do? If the victims kept growing it wouldn't matter, so they had to hurry to find the attacker. This was really and truly getting out of hand. No one else needed this hurt.

"I don't quite know if a reaper could have done this. Not a student by any means." Belladonna began, slightly glad that Kasumi was so close. It helped ground her, let her know she wasn't alone in her fear. "Spells are either spoken or made by potions. Unless its another kind I haven't learned of, I'm not sure how else a reaper would have done this sort of thing." She nodded to the other witch, looking for her support.

"Also. Was anyone acting suspiciously towards the girl?" Feeling sorry she hadn't quite caught the girl's name, Belladonna had to use a general term that she felt dishonored her memory. But what else could she do? She wasn't ready to accuse anyone yet and she wasn't just going to go about flying random accusations at people to make herself feel better! What was needed now was logic!

He had moved to speak with Fauste again when his conversation was thrown by a heavy claim targeting him. Reeling around to face Perlie, Oliver grimaced. "I didn't do anything to her. I was over here the entire time. As for why I moved...well, it seems like every time something happens it's to those who are sitting down." Shaking off his jitters, the monster continues, eyes fixed pointedly at the girl.

"She babbled on too much anyway. Shaking and acting all weird--maybe she's better off in the other cabin anyway." But his remark was meant to be an aside, as it would Oliver's voice carried and he was sure more then just Perlie would overhear. "I didn't do anything to her though, honest! What could I have done anyway, look at these hands; these teeth! Other then give her a dirty look or two, my palms are clean."

Fauste's laughter seemed to deter the monsters frustration, his lips parting in a grin, pleased to have been able to lighten the mood for but a moment.

Puck tilted his head at Perlie. "Coulda planned it 'fore gettin' on the train," he said, after a moment's thought. "Bet who's movin' or nothin' won't help. Doesn't need dark, prob'ly doesn't need to move neither."

"I didn't notice anyone, but there were other people closer to her, so maybe they did." Perlie shrugged at Belladonna, regretful that she couldn't be of more help. "That's a good idea, though - approach it like a mystery that we need to solve!"

She turned back to look at Oliver once again when he spoke up, "Oh wow, and that's not suspicious talk at all. So she was a bit off, but that doesn't mean she deserved to be attacked!" Perlie might have misconstrued his words a bit, but she was far too indignant at this point to notice something like that. Better off?! What if Salali never woke up? What if it was permanent?

"And yeah, they could have. If there is a they, that is." She wasn't quite ready to let go of her mistrust towards the acid monster yet - not after a comment like the one he'd made about Salali.

(( Breic's beginning to think about casting a vote for Puck ))

Breic's narrow gaze settled on the poltergeist again and he folded his arms across his chest. "Do you actually have any ideas, or are you just going to spread suspicion around like soot in water? It seems like you're just going with whatever pops out of someone else's mouth. Give it a minute, and you'll change your mind."

Balumf thought some more. Thinking was good, and it was good to think.
"It would have to be someone nearby..." she mused, choosing to muse out loud for the benefit of others. Having someone so watery nearby was making her relax a bit. Just a bit. The startlement from the plate was still keeping her crest and spines out. She felt sorry for the chair, and hoped that it wasn't bothering Vic.
"We were distracted, We looked at the host or at our partners. It was as if the lights were out in a sense. It was an opportunity for whoever. But they had to be close to her to make such a quick move, or be out of the line of sight."
She turned to Vic.
"What do you think?"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 22, 2010 12:55 pm

"Again, I didn't do anything to her. How COULD I have? Seriously...and I didn't say she deserved it either, I said she was--IS better off. Wouldn't you rather be in a room apart from the chaos then be in it? Maybe she's safer in there, did you think I might have meant that?" The hairs along his back pressed rigidly against his shirt while those nostrils, attached to a black and relatively large canine nose, twitched and flared. Who was she to point her little fingers at him? Just another suspect in the trial.

"And you know what else?! If you've been listening at all, you would know that I don't exactly have the ability to melt minds or make people pass out involuntarily." Pointing to his eyes where brown stains looked to have been sloppily wiped dry, Oliver continued. "Acid tears, acid drool, not mind control sweetheart."

"The way that shaman was knocked out... Maybe whoever is doing this was only doing it during the blackout to throw us off - make it seem like a physical attack. However, if it was magic, does it really matter who moved during that time? Imploding skeletons, papercuts and energy drain - its all fair game, right?" Fauste mused out loud, although the comment was largely directed at Perlie. There was no malicious intent in his voice for he was not looking for a fight, although it carried hints of frustration.

Fauste sighed, smoothing out the creases on his pants to distract himself, even if it was only for a few seconds, just to calm himself down. He was never the smiling type, so all he offered Oliver was a nod of appreciation when their eyes met. He then briefly glanced at Perlie before turning back towards Oliver, and then back to Perlie again, "Hey... He probably didn't mean it that way. As long as we're stuck on this train, we'll have to go through this together and baseless accusation aren't going to help..."

((Cooper is accusing Breic.))

Four down, now. Cooper had nearly jumped himself into the light fixtures when the loud 'WHUMP' had sounded, accompanied by the staccato of breaking plates. There hadn't even been any loss of light that time! And it looked like his suspicions about Salali had been dead wrong, thankfully not literally.

Then the inugami, Haku, had been taken away, accused for all the attacks, but Cooper couldn't believe that. There had been one person sitting beside Salali when she collapsed. That water-horse person!

"It'shim! It'shim! It'sgottabehim! Hewassittingrightbesideher! Hepoisonedher!" he babbled, pointing at Breic.

((Chiming in on Breic))

Betty jumped at the sound of the noise, and backed up, almost inadvertently ending up near Cooper. A third victim, a third method. This was getting bad. Very bad. And very chaotic. But just as Haku had been the clear choice with his book when the papercuts appeared on Akihiko, there was someone who had very clearly and deliberately placed himself near Salali.

"...He's got a point," she admitted, when Cooper spoke up, then looked right at the water horse with a thoughtful, worried gaze. "You were closest - if anyone was going to move, to do something to her while we weren't watching..."
