Melusine was still tucked away safely within her mothers womb; she would never get a chance to meet her parents, for the last thing her mother did was give birth to one little cub before her weakened body could fight no longer. 'Melusine' was the final whisper that her mother spoke with her dying breath. The pride took the cub into their fold and Melusine was raised by the Breeders in the pride. She's never known anything outside of her pride, and considers everyone in it a part of her family.Figured I should toss this in here. :3

History with pride: When she was younger she was simply a trainer. It was alright for a time but she quickly got bored. During the down turn she took off to explore other lands. She found she liked making new acquaintances. Drifting along from area to area, her goal was to see as much of the world as she could.
One encounter with hyenas has severely jaded her towards them. She was passing through hyena territory when a group of rogues caught up to her. Tormenting and harassing her for days until she eventually left the area.
Eventually her blood called her back home. In seeing all she could see, she realized that she did indeed miss home. So she turned her paws back to the place of her birth. Thank you so much Caj!

History with pride: Hravart was born the second eldest son of an elite mother. His father was a rogue and never known to him, though the story went that he had once bested his mother in a duel and thus earned her affections. His mother also valued strength, and spent her life teaching her children to be strong but never blinded by power. As he and his siblings aged it became apparent that some of them had taken this more to heart than others. His older brother became maddened by the idea of proving himself worthy to take their mother‘s title. Over the years he tried many times to defeat her in a duel, but was always unsuccessful. Finally, enraged and just before the down turn, he challenged her once more. The fight was not a fair one though, and the brother did not stop. Their mother died from her injuries and Hravart and his other siblings descended on the eldest to avenge her. They were not proud of their actions but they could not suffer the disgrace of his continued life. Then the down turn came and his siblings died or wandered off, dwindling until eventually only Hravart remained. The hard times took their toll on him but he refused to abandon the pride and with it his mother’s memory. He fought relentlessly to his position, but has periodically been taken down before and may yet again as he ages.

History with pride: When he was an adolescent, his parents passed away from the famine, leaving him on his own for the first time. Shortly after, in an attempt to prove himself tough enough to handle life on his own, he injured a tendon in his back leg in a battle. The leg never fully healed, ending his dreams of becoming a great trainer. Instead, he became an officer, choosing to remain near the matches he could no longer win. Though still a fair fighter (defensively, at least), Albermarle hasn't won a match since his injury.

History with pride: Jabali was born of two trainers, neither ever dreamt of particularly high rankings but were still strong fighters. She had one elder sister, who was well on her way up the pridal ranks. When the sickness hit, her mother had already passed away from old age and her father was one of the first to flee the pride (later, she heard word that he had passed away anyway, from what she never found out. In a soft moment, she wondered if it was a broken heart. But then she realised she's not a sissy, and shrugged off the thought). Her elder sister caught the disease and died before the nurses could help, leaving Jabali on her own. She was old enough to take care of herself, and though she grew ill, she did not die. Instead, Jabali thrived. It was her determination and the memory of her family, strong to the last, that kept her going. She was a rock, as she was named, and she would stand firm against whatever tried to wear her down. Of course, she had her weak moments of hiding in her den and refusing to come out, but come on, she was an adolescent. She's allowed to be a little depressed after loosing her family.
Unfortunately, Jabali pushed herself too far in a battle one day, her front paw was injured. At first, she was furious with her dueling partner, but understood -after ranting for a good hour or two- that it was her own fault. She switched ranks from Trainer to Professor. Her paw doesn't stop her from battling, but she would not be able to train as frequently as she would have wanted as a trainer. Professor suits her better now, though she will still take on a battle or two when they are thrown her way. She enjoys passing on knowledge, and encouraging the younger generation. She hopes that one day her students might do what she dreamt of doing, beating the Champion. Her dreams of doing that are over and done with now, but she can encourage the new trainers and maybe someday, she'll be able to see it happen by one of her students. She wouldn't gloat though. Or boast. Not at all. Okay...Maybe a little. > u >
After exams, I will be scouting out some RP for Jabali, so if anyone is interested, feel free to contact me now to plot stuff out 8D

Quick question, are rangers allowed to do the joining battles as well as searching for suitable SoA to join? Or are joining battles for trainers only? Thanks. ^_^

You know, I never really set restrictions on who could/couldn't do joining duels.
Rangers can- that's fine.
