Canto Is Actaully Slang Cos Mandarian Is The Actual Chinese Language- i knew that 3nodding i didnt gonk so all this time i have been learning mandirin in slang........interesting ninja Slang's surely cooler than the boring original language though, init bruv? wink just because i talk chinese slang doesnt mean i talk english slang stare actually the appropriate word is 'dialect'... not 'slang'... 3nodding okay then......chinese 'dialect'

I like both Cantonese and Mandarin 'cause I'm half half ^.^ Hehe... but I used to speak both really well but I cant speak Cantonese anymore but I understand it , and Mandarin I still can ^.^

Heh, I agree with the Canto : Mando :: English : German analogy someone on the first page said. It's more guttural and I can't understand a word of it xD

i speak cantonese and i have a few friends who are canto but i think there's a lot of mandarins in my school. i want to learn mandarin though...since most the chinese population is mandarin.

I feel Mando has a sophisiticated, elegant air to it, whereas Canto sounds more informal and fun.

I only speak little Mando, so I would say Canto for that. 8D But in canto, you get to have access to all these bad cuss and diss, which are really fun to use (well as a joke obvi) xD. But Mando really helps you a lot too.

I like mandarin better because Cantonese just sounds like Mandarin slang to me. (According to others, it basically is)
However, I write and speak fluently in mandarin but after being in H.K. for years of my elementary and middle school life, I understand plenty of it and I'm working on speaking it...lol. I love learning all asian dialects I'm working on Japanese...
