Reis clung to the dragon's sinewy hide with all his considerable strength, ignoring the intensified pain that the wind and tossing around brought his burned flesh. He plunged all four of the daggers into the heart of the beast, holding them there as long as he could, hoping to purify the beast, but its turbulent movements proved that to be an impossibility. Reis closed his eyes, and plunged his fist into the wound made by the blades, piercing the heart with an electrically-charged hand.
"I'm sorry...it couldn't be helped," he muttered quietly, his own heart stinging with empathy at the unnecessary death.
((Will edit if you don't want the dragon dead yet. sweatdrop ))

((It's okies. =D))

Adalwulf blocked the sun's glare from his eye with a hand, staring up at the sky. Then he hastily re-strapped his crossbow and grabbed Treylon by the arm and started to run. "Dummköpfe!" He said gruffly again.

I thought it would last longer. "Hm?" Fenrir heard the voice echo in his head. "Oh, the dragon. I feel bad for the guy you turned into the dragon." You are not one to talk. That was a minor distraction for the fools who stand against me.

The dragon jerked around in the air, spasming in it's death throes and blood gushed from the wound. Then the giant wings stopped beating and the beast fell down towards the town, it's weight carried by gravity.

Luckily, the beast hadn't flown far when it fell. Reis gave a shout of pain as the impact snapped the bones in one arm. He cradled the arm, with the Chimera Blade's strap used as a crude sling. He hobbled over to Aetas, and fell to one knee as the pain of his injuries wracked his body.
"I'm sorry...I did all I could," he gasped as he forcefully reset his bones.

As Adalwulf grabbed Treylon's arm, and said something Treylon said to him "Hold on I got to get my bow." He went over to where his bow lay in two pieces. He picked up the bow, and gave a depressing sigh then said to himself "Well got a night of rigorous repair to do." He then went over to where Adalwulf, and Reis where to discuss what they were going to do.

Aetas shook her head and patted Reis on his shoulder, the uninjured one. "It is fine, you all did what you could. I'm afraid he hadn't much time left anyway..." She trailed off and her eyes went distant for a second or two. Then she shook her head again and reached for her staff, the scent of cinnamon coming off it. "Adalwulf, would you kindly...?"
Adalwulf nodded and detached a glass bottle from his belt. A red jelly like liquid swishing inside, and he handed it to Reis. "Drink this. It'll help heal."

"Welp, looks like the dragon's down." Fenrir commented closing his yellow eyes. He took off his hat and tossed it aimlessly in the air. "I wonder where the others went to. Zalmor and Tumma. Both of them disappeared somewhere..." He went silent again before opening his eyes again to the darkness, then called out. "Hey Zalmooor! Tummaaa! Where are youuuuu?"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 5:53 pm

Reis nodded appreciatively, and quaffed the thick fluid. It tasted of garbage and curry, but its effect was immediate. Reis's body's natural healing sped up, and the most grievous of his injuries began to close up. ((lols at "would you kindly." bioshock, anyone?)) He weaved a little magic to heal the scorch marks across the flesh of his arms and shoulders, and grunted loudly as his bones snapped back into place.
"I may not ever die a natural death...but I am by no means immune to pain," he remarked with a forced chuckle. "Well...what's our next move? We're going to need to recruit help, it seems. The four of us don't seem powerful enough to stop them as things stand, now."

Tumma heard her name, echoing through the expanse that was Darkness. She ignored it, and continued sulking. She held up her pink, human arm and examined the frail flesh. The black false skin that hid her human nature was slowly creeping back up her arm, but it would be a few days before the pale flesh was dark and scaly all across it again. She instead wrapped up the arm in the folds of her cloak, hiding it from her comrades for the time being, as they had not seen it yet. She liked to keep it that way.

Zalmor was tending to the light arrow still in his chest for he did not know how to get rid of the thing. Then he heard Fenrir's calling out to him, and Tumma. Thinking that Fenrir might know how to get rid of the arrow Zalmor quickly hastened to where Fenrir was. Upon reaching Fenrir he said to him "Boss I do not know how to get rid of this thing. Can you help me?"

Aetas suddenly smiled at Reis's words, despite her tiredness. "You remind me of someone, saying that. But you will die when you are intended to."
Adalwulf grunted and drew her attention to the present matter.
"Yes, recruits. That is what I have been trying to do lately." Aetas went on, standing up from the bench. "I believe Adalwulf has agreed--"
"Have not."
"--to track down one of the ones responsible for what happened here. For now, we need to find a larger force."

Well, that's one. Fenrir uncrossed his legs and stood on the invisible floor, taking stock of the arrow in question. "Alright, stand still and clench your teeth." He reached out, taking hold of the light shaft. A purple hazed flowed over it, dispelling most of the enchantment. Then, he tore the arrow out unceremoniously. "There you go, sorry it had to be so painful." He let the arrow disappear into nothingness. "Tumma. Tumma Puma! Come on out."

Tumma appeared beside him in a swirl of the black substance that was not smoke, water, or steam.
"You bellowed, my irritable little darling?" she whispered, her nose in the air, and her arms folded childishly. She was actually glad for the summons. She had been peering into a mirror, alone in the dark, considering the notion of removing a little more of her demonic skin. She hated Der Reisende for finding a vulnerability in her, but she was strangely drawn to the idea of her dormant humanity. Her curiosity nearly got the better of her, and she almost peeled back the black veil that was her demon persona to see what Tumma the human looked like. It had been so long, she had forgotten entirely what she looked like.

"Why yes, yes I did." Fenrir smiled harmlessly at Tumma, showing his sharp teeth and giving a small bow. Then he sneezed in the silence, covering his mouth with a hand. He excused himself politely, since it didn't look like anyone else would. "I was just wondering where you'd gone off to. After all, you took off like you'd been burned in a fire." A cold presence welled up with his chest and he blinked, curious. I thought you were tired. Not as much as you thought. Gah, shame.

Zalmor snorted in disgust when Tumma appeared then reacting to the question that Fenrir said to her he said "Hehe she probably retreated because he revealed her ugly demon skin, and that made her sad haha!"

Tumma was across the expanse in an instant, the fingers of her black hand around the loudmouthed Zalmor's throat.
"You would do well to mind your tongue, little man," she hissed, tightening her grip. She slung him into the emptiness behind her, and turned to Fenrir.
"Well, then...are we going to do anything more meaningful than raze worthless villages, Mr. Mouthpiece-for-Darkness?"

Fenrir clicked his tongue patronizingly, tsking. "Very creative nickname there, Ms. Low-Self-Esteem. I'll let you talk to Darkness if you want, though." He stretched his arms above his head and heard his back give a series of small pops, all in a row. Sighing happily, he gestured meaninglessly, a small white globe appearing in the nothingness. It flickered with random images. "Worthless villages, heh. That was only the opening act, my dear. We'll be going after kingdoms, cities, and castles, next. You name it."

Tumma huffed and turned up her nose. He wounded pride would take even longer to heal than her arm. Since becoming a demon, she had never, never been bested in pitched combat. Losing was a feeling quite unfamiliar to her.
"Name it, eh?" she mumbled, thinking to herself. "What of this?" She used the folds of her robe to form an image of a skeletal hand, set in a shield-sized broach like a grisly gem. This mystical trinket had the power to repel white magic, and restore the black matrix of power that gave demonkind their strength. She hoped it might prevent future defeat when fighting Reis and his associates.

Fenrir cast a sidelong glance at the trinket. He'd been staring after Zalmor, surprised that he'd flown so far. "Oh, that?" It's presence was definitely dark enough. Thanks to his senses that he'd picked up over the years, and through natural ways. He sniffed the air above it, then waved a hand in the air. "Feels like a flame and smells like sulfur. What're you thinking of doing with it?"
