David paused mid-step as the boy, forgetting his place once more, spoke up again. This time though, it wasn't simple excuses the boy was spewing. Waiting for the boy to finish and walk away, David turned on his heel and followed, stopping the boy before he could claim a wheelbarrow. "Congratulations. You're back in the academy. Because you obviously didn't learn the first time through." David spoke, voice bordering on a snarl, though he managed to keep it level. "Lesson one. An order from a superior is law. It doesn't matter if you believe you are capable or not. If you are told to do something, you put your best effort into doing it. If you find you can't do it, you find a way, and do it anyways. And if you decide for some reason to disobey orders, you had best have something better to say than excuses!" David finished, snapping the last sentence out, with a tiny bit of anger laced in.

Not expecting more from the village's genin than one would expect from a civilian child was what had made Koizumi weak. Was what had made Sunagakure weak during the woman's reign. David did not intend to make that mistake, and he wasn't about to accept excuses for refusing to follow orders.

"Now, since you obviously want to start your remedial training as soon as possible, let's get started." David spoke calmly, a smile crawling across his face. With a flick of his hand, four balls of sand jumped up from the ground. Another flick, and they had wrapped themselves around the other boy's wrists and ankles. A clench of the hand, and the boy would feel the sand hardening to stone, shrinking down into what could only be considered a large bracelet, or anklet, respectively. And then David dropped his hand, and his control over the sand, and the boy would suddenly feel the weight. Ten pounds on each limb. A third of what was required for the basic academy level taijutsu, but from what he'd seen, enough to drop this boy to the ground on all fours.

Crouching down to meet the boy's gaze, David smiled wider. "You're going to wear those until you can move like they aren't even there. And then I am going to add more, which you will wear until you can't feel them again, at which point, I will add more. If you remove them without permission, you can remove your shinobi identifier at the same time. Now, get up, and get back to work."

"And I highly recommend you keep your mouth closed."

Your official village rank is now Academy Student! Yay! This won't affect any of your actual stats. That would be silly. However, in rank, you are equal to an academy student. That means you must follow orders from everyone above you, right down to genin. While it hasn't been rebuilt yet, you won't be allowed to purchase scrolls from the library once it is. Once your current mission, which is the one David gave you earlier, is complete, you'll have to find a higher ranking ninja willing to train you, and eventually promote you again after the usual genin test, like we used to use.

The weights reduce your speed and strength by .5 ranks. After twenty posts wearing them, your stats will increase back to normal with them on, after which we'll add more. If we're lucky by the time you need to remove them we'll have an actual weight system to say what happens when they're removed. But, if not, I'll figure that out when the time comes.

Unlike Chuunin+, you can take orders from genin with a grain of salt, as we generally figure they aren't very intelligent. You should generally respect and obey them, for their higher rank, but if they tell you to do something stupid, or something that would get you in worse trouble, ignore them.

Axel gulped as the Kage spoke to him, just what did he get himself into. He knew that it was disrespectful to speak to the Kage that way, but why did he have to go as far as to strip him of his rank? It is understandable that the man would be angry, but one would think that it was a step to the extreme what had just happened. But on the other hand, he had it coming after sassing the Kazekage not once, but twice. He would take a step back as the sand darted toward him. He went cold, he expected the worse from it. The Sand weighed his arms down and he tried his best to bring them back up, with much effort to it, his back bent, struggling to do so. Then came the legs. He didn't feel any sudden change with the legs, but as soon as he tried to take a step forward his legs would have much problems to move. The ten pound weighs on his legs hindered his movements just a bit, nothing too great, but the dreading thought of walking with a total of forty pounds dragging your body down made Axel tired already.

Only when Axel tried to move his other leg did he fall on all fours, failing to balance the two weights on his arms. The weight dragged him down and his hands hit the sand, his eyes slid up to meet David's. " What if by the time we're done here you're busy when the weight feels like it isn't there?" He asked for clarification, waiting for David to answer his question, sounding as sincere, and scared, as any Genin, or Academy Student, would be when staring at a man that he only then realized could kill him without breaking a sweat.

"Well," David smiled even wider at the question, his teeth beginning to peek around the edges of his lips in a cruel grimace. "You stand and wait patiently until I'm not busy. Or better yet, pick up something heavy and strap it on until I can get to you."

With that done, David stood up again and walked away from the boy, headed once more for the center of the library. The boy would be fine on his own. Assuming of course he was determined enough to reach his feet again. If he couldn't push through that though, he didn't deserve to be a ninja. And, well, if he gave up, he'd be giving up on being one at the same time, and knew it. So, it was then the ultimate test. Did the boy want this enough to work for it? To climb the insurmountable wall? Or would he crumble at the base and give up at this first sight of difficulty? It would actually be interesting to see.

But for now, there was a mess to clean up. David wanted to get back to his training, before something else came along, and for that he needed the library back up and running. Marching directly into the center, he soon came to an area that neither the genin nor academy students were entering. A large section of roofing had come down intact, too big for the genin to move, to dangerous to cut safely, and the academy students didn't dare crawl in under it to do their own work.

Smiling, not the cruel smile he'd had before, but a simple smile of rare enjoyment, the boy kage advanced on the roofing, and laid one hand on it. "Muki Suna Kaishin." he intoned quietly, channeling his chakra into the wood. The jutsu wasn't designed for wood, not really, so it began slow, chipping into the edge of the roof, but slowly increased in pace, until thin lines of sand were stretching out along the material, grinding through it at an increasingly rapid pace. Occasionally they split off, or changed direction, slicing the material into smaller chunks, that could be carried away by teams of two or three genin. Soon enough the students would make their way in as the genin carried away the roofing, as there wasn't much rubble in this section, but a lot of shelves and scrolls.

Tenrousei Enro
|| Genin || Field- Medic|| Yohei||

Enro's return to the library, like many of his actions, was not mere fate or chance. He knew exactly where he meant to go after leaving Raphael in the medical center and that was the ruins of the Library. Why? The library was the hub of most information in the village excluding the secrets of the shinobi operations. If he could salvage any useful scrolls or become privy to new architectural designs, he would consider his endeavors a success.

He would come across the large section of collapsed roofing in time to see a young man he immediately recognized as the Kazekage performing a jutsu that slowly began to break the roofing into more manageable components for the genin to carry away. The young man, little more than a teenager, seemed to be smiling though not for any reason Enro could discern. He'd always felt something was 'off' about the village leader, ignoring the fact he harbored an living, insane manifestation of chakra within his body. To Enro, he was a wild card with far too much power so he averted his eyes and, spying three smaller genin struggling with a piece of roofing the Kazekage had no fully broken down, lifted the rubble from their hands and hefted it with moderate difficulty.

As he did so, he scanned the sandy dunes for scrolls, his dark eyes alighting on scrolls miraculously preserved as well as shelves and other fragments of masonry. He made a mental note concerning the movements of those who were collecting the scrolls, trying to find out where they were going and what they were doing with the scrolls. It is through his intense focus that he came across a red-headed boy on all fours directly in his path. He stopped abruptly and his large shadow would completely envelop the boy as he did so. Enro frowned and glanced about, wondering why the boy was simply laying in the sand.

" Ow, ow, ow, ow. " Raphael said, repeating the same word as he walked into the library's area, or what was the library's area. He looked around to see the library mostly, ummm... Collapsed. It kinda hurt his heart, he liked the Library. Hopefully the scrolls weren't hurt. Even if they were, he had the scrolls for Hiku and the Basic storage seal in... his jacket... which was... in... the... market... " Gweaaaaaaaah!!!! " He said grabbing his head as he realized the scrolls could be stolen by now. He looked around, there was Enro, a boy, and another boy turning... wood into sand. Yeah, that was definitely not odd at all. " Erm... Is there anything I can do to help? " Raphael shouted, hoping to get someone's attention. " I'm not really suited for physical tasks right now, but I can make some seals to carry some sand, or hold important things for now. " He said, looking between everyone.

David paused, one eyebrow raised as he saw a large man in the corner of his eye heft a chunk of rubble that three younger boys had been struggling with moments prior. He had intended to split that one down more, but they had separated it from the whole before he could and so he'd left it to them. As the last bits of roofing fell to pieces small enough to be hauled away, David turned, absently gathering the sand created as a side effect onto a hovering ball as he watched the large man curiously. He was easily old enough, by appearance alone, to have been a jounin, but if that were the case he was sure he'd recognize him. But while he seemed familiar it was no more so than someone he'd passed on the street.

Seeing the man stop, standing over Axel, David walked in that direction himself, absently guiding the ball of sand out of the area and into a clear space out of the way before he stopped, several feet from the man so he could see his full form without looking upwards. "Anyone who helps the boy up joins him." the young kage warned, speaking in an almost lazy tone. Compared to five minutes earlier, he was in a much better mood, though curious about this large man. "Though I expect it'd take a good bit more than forty pounds to pin you to the ground." he added, eyes trailing up the man's form and settling on the massive chunk of rubble he still held aloft for a couple moments. "Your name?" David finally asked, redirecting his gaze to the man's face. The veritable mummy he could only assume to be a hospital escapee screaming in the background went ignored. Odd as that may be, a person who didn't know to stay put until they were fully healed couldn't hold his interest.

Through means that escaped him, Enro 'sensed' the Kazekages approach and raised his head in time for the young boy to stop. Enro looked directly into his eyes, measuring his person beneath steely, amber hues. He blinked lazily at the shinobi's casual warning but nodded slightly in response. He wondered what situation led to the boys punishment but soon found himself faced with a question.

"Enro," was his hesitant reply, in a resonant baritone that seemed fitting for a,man of his stature. Enro's expression revealed nothing but he was perplexed with David's arrival, especially after finding him to be a particularly stern and unsociable leader.

Raphael's outcry would earn him a cool glance from the large man, followed by a shrug. Exactly how he was able to leave the medical center in his condition escaped him but he figured the medics knew what they were doing...or maybe they just needed space for more serious injuries? Hopefully he would realize just how ineffectual he would be in his condition and would opt for a full recovery.

"Well then..." Raphael said looking at the two of the others standing over there. He wasn't used to being ignored, but it felt... iffy. It was kinda nice after being smothered in his old life, but hurt ever so slightly. He'd spent the last week in the infirmary, getting minor healing to allow him to regain a small amount of skin. The amount was only enough to keep him from falling apart and smelling like a corpse though. "Fine! I'll get my skin back... Not like it's my choice or anything how I live..." Raphael said, muttering as he walked away.

( Exit to Hospital )

( Well, not that I have much choice, but it looks like Raphael gets the picture. )

David raised an eyebrow, but nodded at Enro's simple answer. He'd honestly been expecting more. Most people he'd ever had to deal with seemed to dive right in and give you their entire life story, whether you wanted it or not, after that simple question. It was rather refreshing actually, to have someone just answer the question and shut up for a change. Though, on the down side, it left him with no idea where to proceed from there. He could ask the man for his rank as he had the boy, but he knew already the man wasn't a jounin, and most chuunin wore some form of identifier, meaning this was most likely a genin, odd as it sounding looking at him. And unfortunately David really wasn't much for conversation, so it actually felt a bit awkward now.

Deciding to just move on and get back to work, David turned back to the rubble, only to pause as the mummy yelled again, and walked away. "What?" he stared, blinking as his brain practically shut down trying to comprehend what it had just heard. Get his skin back? What on earth was that guy talking about? And if he had heard right, and for one reason or another the person had no skin, why on earth did it sound like he considered it a bad thing to get it back? And... Get it back? What, had he pawned it off or something? David blinked, just, staring, at where the wrapped up person had vanished in the distance, trying to rationalize what he'd heard.

So, apparently foreign and bizarre concepts put David's brain into lock down now. Second time it's happened in one scene. But then, can't really blame him. You don't often see the sort of things he's seen today.

Enro was oblivious to the awkward silence that stretched out between the two so he was visibly unnerved when the host simply nodded and walked away. The entire encounter gave him no further insight into the boy that the village leader and that, in his eyes, reflected a wasted encounter. His unorthodox shinobi training had focused far more on more intellectual and social skills over combat as he had more experience in that field than most at his age. That training guided his social encounters and usually allowed him to garner some sort of information from another without revealing anything of himself. On occasions when nothing was learned, Enro found himself quite dissatisfied and hungry for information.

This was how - and why - Kazekage and Host, David Greyson found his himself on Enro's 'list'. It was far less serious than it sounded but his activities would be scrutinized by the former soldier more than most others until he knew the man's character better than he did. The thought of understanding a host was a chilling prospect though the chill he felt was attributed to excitement rather than fear. Unbeknownst to David, Enro would smirk at his departure and carry on with moving the rubble.

He noticed the heavily bandaged Raphael also leaving the site thought, as he didn't hear any of his words, he had no clue as to his destination. He could only hope the boy had been sent off to the hospital by a more concerned individual. He stared at the retreating figure for awhile before dropping the large piece of roofing into a wagon and moving off in search of any heavy rubble that needed to be moved.

Shaking his head and clearing it of the bizarre event, David refocused himself on the task at hand. The library. In the time he'd spent examining Enro and subsequently staring into space, the herds of genin had cleared away the last of the roofing, leaving only scattered bits of material, and large chunks of the building's sandstone walls. Luckily the building's foundations appeared to be intact, and the academy students had already swarmed through and removed most of the scrolls remaining on the above ground floors, leaving mostly just broken bits of furniture to clean up there.

Allowing himself a tiny smirk, David began to walk. Just walking around the perimeter of the building, casual as could be. But in front of him, the loose hunks of wall started to slide along the ground. The bits that were still attached buckled, and broke off to join the loose, leaving nothing in his wake. Slowly, he made his way back around the building, bringing all of the bits of wall along with him, and depositing the entire pile in the open space designated for the transport crews to take it away. a lot of the chunks were a bit too large though, and the genin couldn't get them into their wheelbarrows and wagons. One succeeded in doing so, only for the boulder to crush his wheelbarrow flat. So, before the rubble could be carried off, it needed to be broken down. David could do that easily enough, but hey, why not let someone else do it?

By the time the remnants of the roofing were loaded onto the wagon, academy students and other genin had already removed many of the scrolls. He aided some in moving some broken shelves on some of the less treacherous floors before commotion outside drew his attention. After tossing the lass wooden plank into a wagon Enro casually strode down the stairs where he was met with the sight of walls being broken apart along the perimeter of the building. While some academy students gawked at the sight, a sweat and dirt covered Enro took it in stride and rolled his shoulders in preparation of more heavily lifting.

While the young ones scurried to make themselves known to the Kazekage by straining to shift the large pieces of sandstone it became immediately clear to Enro that they would need to be broken down before being lifted. He grasped the collar of an excited academy student and sent him off to find hammers or any tools that could help carve out smaller chunks of the wall. In the meantime he watched David with the knowledge that the boy could easily break the wall into more manageable sizes.

His thoughts were interrupted by the returning Genin who presented him with a wheelbarrow full of hammers. He selected one of the largest and carved a path through the genin struggling to shift the masonry. His arrival in their midst stopped the futile activities of a particular pair of genin, at least up until the point he swung the hammer over his head and immediately took off a chunk of the wall. The genin immediately caught on and many ran off to grab more hammers while the academy student took the more manageable pieces away. It was clear Enro led the whole operation, breaking the pieces down faster than most of the genin combined.

Reiko surveyed the scene as she walked up to one of the ANBU on the perimeter. "I'm here to help, since I heard I could actually get credit in this area." she explained, shoulder the pick axe that she had brought with her. After being waved through she got a good opportunity to check out what all of the other genin/helpers were doing, but was disappointed to see nothing quite remarkable on the scene. Of course, that was after disregarding the rather tall dark-skinned male that who seemed to be hard at work among the many small figures, at least, compared to him. Everyone kind of looked like ants, especially since they were all scurrying around with hammers.

Other than the big man, there really didn't seem to be anyone important to talk to, so she just set herself right to work, identifying the problem pieces of rubble and breaking them up far more efficiently with her pick axe. She picked at several key points in the larger pieces of rubble, weakening the structure enough for those with the hammers to swarm about and accomplish most of the easy work. It wasn't that hard to skirt around the group and help out here and there. Doing so made it seem like she was doing more work than she actually was, but she figured helping out the others who weren't smart enough to bring something sharp would be good enough.

After all the effort spent mining the library, she settled with helping the rest of the scrap clean-up, using her pick axe whenever necessary.

As the work drew to a close, a woman some might recognize as the librarian began bustling about, approaching each of the shinobi present to thank them personally for their hard work, and even passing out scrolls of E and D rank jutsu from a bag she carried with her, one to each person who assisted in completing the work. A free sample in return for a job well done.

{If you made at least one full working post during the mission, you may claim a single scroll, of either E or D rank, from any element you like. These scrolls, I feel I should add, contain only one jutsu, to be learned normally later on.

There is another mission in this area that will be started once a couple more missions elsewhere have been completed too, so look forward to that.}
