Elnara chuckled softly. "Yes ... I would imagine it was about time that you gave yourself a break," she smiled. "You've been on the go nonstop since you were born. It's a miracle you've kept going for as long as you have."

She turned to Miyuki and her smile widened. "And it seems that Miyuki is quite fond of Earendil," she commented warmly.

Garrick turned back to Miyuki and frowned. "Da, Ada not heah," he agreed. He sat next to her and pointed at her doll. "A'sat?"

Garrick wasn't entirely sure what she was talking about, but he was sure of one thing: that doll did not look like his ada.

"No Ada," he replied, shaking his head. "Ada no look like dat. Ada all biiiiiig!" He stretched his arms towards the ceiling to show Miyuki how big his Ada was. "An' hair not like Nana, hair like Starr!" He pointed at his older sister, sitting in the hair.

Elnara smiled at that. "Sounds like something I would have liked to see," she giggled. "Really, that just sounds adorable."

Garrick frowned. "No, Ada have hair like Starr!" He pointed at his sister again. He pouted up at Elnara. "Nana! Baby wrong!"

Elnara blinked down at Garrick. "Wrong?" she asked. "About what?"

Garrick's pout deepened. "Ada have hair like Starr, not like nana!"

Elnara smiled. She had a feeling she knew what was going on - she had five children who had been traveling with Lin and Earendil for six years, after all - and so this didn't really surprise her. After all, how many of her own children had called Lore 'papa' even while he had just been a friend?

"Children," she said with a soft smile, "Garrick, your ada is not the same as Miyuki's ada. Just like Lin's ada is different and my ada is different."

She got up and picked a picture off the wall, then knelt with the two children.

"See?" she showed them, pointing at the picture of her and Lore. "Garrick's ada has white hair." She pointed at the doll. "And Miyuki's ada has black hair."

Garrick blinked up at her. "Diff'rent ada?"

Elnara giggled. "Yes."

Garrick looked at the doll. "Miyuki's ada doll?" he asked, looking up at Elnara.

Elnara giggled. "It looks like him," she corrected her son, "but it's not him."

"Oh." Garrick looked back at the doll, then looked at Miyuki and Lin. "Where you ada?"

"Oh." Garrick stared at Miyuki for a moment, wondering why she was so sad, but then he grinned and looked up at Elnara again. "Ada at work!" he said brightly. "Ada home for dinnah, and play and for bed!"

Elnara giggled and ruffled her son's hair. "Yes, Ada will be home soon. Now you go back to playing all right?"

Garrick giggled. "Kay!" And he picked up a block and held it out to Miyuki. "Play too?"

Garrick grinned at Miyuki and grabbed another block. "Heah!" he beamed, setting his block on the ground. "Let's build a towah!"

Elnara smiled as she returned to her chair. "So Miyuki has adopted Earendil, I see," she murmured, slightly amused. "I take it that your trip was a good one, then?"
