Sachi ran up to Bumi, and gave him a hug. "Uncle Bumi! I missed you!" She said happily. Then she pulled back. "Are you going to share your creeping crystals?" She asked, a mad grin on her face. She thought for a moment. "And can I go on the super slide?"

Kyoujin stared at Sachi a while, shook it off and crossed his arms again.
"One," he began, holding up one finger. "You calling me adorable is...not right, two," he continued, pulling up another finger. "I am not crazy, and lastly," he finished, balling his fingers into a fist, "will you stop being so happy with the whole 'long time, no see' aspect, waterbender?"

Toph gave Kyoujin a friendly punch. "You need to lighten up Merchant Boy," she snickered. "When you get to be a part of the group, cutesy stuff like that isn't optional."
"While all this love an happiness is all very nice, we need to get down to business." Bumi said patting Sachi on the head. They took their seats before the Earth King. "The results from the Earth Sages has come back. Unfortunately tha Avatar has eluded their sight as well. Yet we must not assume that it only leaves two nations left for options no. I think the Avatar is experiencing a submergence in his power."
"Like...like when Father was in that iceberg?"
"Close, but only in power. Yana, as a seer, it is your duty to help whomever the Avatar may be in unlocking their abilities. Your ability to ascend into the Spirit Realm will be a prime key in their process."
"I am ready to do all I can for the Avatar." Yana bowed confidently.
"Good! Now who's hungry?"

Kyoujin sort of trailed off in his own mind while Yana and King Bumi had been talking, but as soon as the magical word 'hungry' came up, the word 'food' went right along in his mind.
"F-free f-food...?" He questioned, mouth watering from the thought while rubbing his greedy, little hands together.

Sachi ignored the boy, and looked at Bumi. "You mean him/her doesn't know he/she is the Avatar? So its like... He/she hasn't discovered his/her powers yet?"

"Not yet." Yana answered. "They'll be completely oblivious...Princess Azula never knew just how extreme the extent of her damage did." ____
The meal was enormous and exquisite, Yana and Sachi seated next to the king. The occasion was good enough to put Bumi in a feasting mood, and he was cackling over his meal at some of his own bad jokes. He, Sokka, and eventually Sachi shared that love of puns.
Yana however, was looking disdainful at the amount Kyoujin had piled onto his plate. Compared to the neat, tidy selection Yana had picked, his plate was practically overflowing.
"Does your stomach need to be as over-inflated as your head too?" Yana scoffed, eating delicately at her rice.

"Just to let ya know, you can stop makin' the jokes, I'm not stupid," he scoffed at her back, filling his mouth with a large, first bite. "Plus, food is good for you...oh wait, you girls wouldn't know, you're both too skinny to understand!"
He chuckled over mouth fulls, but just to be nice to the women he laid his hand over his mouth as he chewed. It was a habit to talk and eat with an open mouth, since manners never really mattered.

"Gee...perhaps that's because we take in food at healthy quantities Merchant Boy." Yana had to sneer. It wasn't like her to look down on people like this...but really...he was stuffing his face like a hungry porcupine-pig. She sighed and put a hand to her throbbing temples.
"To think my killer is going to be an uncouth lout....this is going to end up being the most embarassing murder ever."
She kept this one low-voiced. As much as Toph and Bumi would care, it'd be best if they didn't know that their dear niece's killer was stuffing his face right across the table from her.

"There is no such thing as healthy quantities when you're raised with a group of thirty and times are so hard that one thing of bread and a little pond water is fought over in a death match," Kyoujin grumbled to Yana, trying to swallow his food.
Suddenly, he threw a bone at her head. "Lighten up, emo! No mumbling...oh...and, erm...I wasn't done licking that bone clean...can I have it back?" He asked with a tiny grin, holding out his hand.

Yana pulled the bone out of her hair where it had landed. For a moment she appeared ready to give it back...before throwing it hard at his head where the weak bone cracked.
"And I think that when you're raised with a group of 17...most of which are children...you will think differently...Merchant Boy." she said icily. Her mother's rage was like that too. Some things needed to be inheirieted.
"You've already got such wicked ideas in your head...but you're just a boy with an empty stomach and an empty head."

"If I have sucha empty head," Kyoujin began, rubbing his head," then how am I going to plan your 'death', how am I going to be this great, evil, guy of doom? Huh? Somethin's gotta be workin' up there!"
Staring at his already half-eaten plate with solid eyes, he licked his lips and let out a sigh. "Plus, I suppose I only act dumb for the pure effect of innocence. Habit learned from the group. My mentor always said 'anyone will buy anything from an innocent child'. I guess from all that acting I carried it over- hoping for you guys to 'buy' my attention..."
Kyoujin let out another sigh and gnawed at another bone. "Or something like that!" He laughed.

"You encourage your own greed." Yana said silently. She wasn't all that hungry anymore. "That's what makes the difference between you and me. I am prepared to give myself over to aid the Avatar...and you can only ever think of yourself. The hole in you heart is already so deep that it can't be filled no matter what you do. Even killing me isn't going to help it."
She stood up, looking apologetically at King Bumi. "I'm all full, but I think I'd like to go to the top of the palace to look at the night sky. I need to meditate."

"Girls..." Kyoujin hissed. "Whatever...hole in my heart...blah, blah,..." he sat, gnawing on the bone still. "Oh screw me..." he growled, throwing down the bone then staring at the others. "Sorry, not full but I have to throw up now."
He quickly grabbed at Yana's wrist, and once he got a good grip he pulled her towards him. "I hope you know, where ever you go, so will I," his grip tightened and he shot her a fiery look, but it quickly ended as he giggled and loosened his grip once more. "Just to let ya know."

Her father was the only man to have done anything even remotely close. But the grip on her wrist by Kyoujin...it was painful. Not so much in physical pain...no, his hands had to be smoothed over for eager customers. But there was that sharp ache when he swore to follow her.
It filled her with absolute dread.
She snapped her wrist back, fleeing the dining hall as swiftly as she could without running. She hurried up the stairs before stopping. The top of the palace was made into a terrace, railing surrounding it. The night had fallen quickly over Omashu...most of the day having been occupied by mountain climbing and political talk with King Bumi. But Yana looked up at the sky...and felt lonely. Sachi could come up and be her friend whenever she pleased...but who bore the weight of responsiblity as heavily? Without the Avatar, she felt responsible for all forms of spiritual chaos that occured in the mortal realm. She would do it willingly, throwing her entire being into it, but she was as solitary as the stars.
She wished Aang was here. But like the stars, which shone bright enough to appear close enough to touch, they were distant. Always out of reach. Aang would be there for the Avatar, but he couldn't be there for Yana anymore. Yana was on her own.

If Sachi had laser vision, there would he a hole straight through the boy's head. She glared at him, furious, for a few more moments, and then walked over to Bumi. "Could I please have a creeping crystal ring?" She asked cutely and sweetly. Usually he gave her one, he had plenty. She also knew that once what she was thinking of happened, Toph and Bumi would get a kick out of it.
