zman1013 Led Zeppelin is an awesome band... One of the best rock bands known to man. They did a lot of blues based stuff and yea... so what if they stole the cover "Dazed and Confused"??? Wow... that really makes me not like them... Still, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant are both god in the flesh... Very talented people... 3nodding Dazed & Confused wasn't the only one unfortunately. A vast majority of there more bluesy songs are stolen songs...or multiple stolen songs put into one song. (Lemon Song for example). I refuse to call Jimmy Page a god in the flesh because he was the responsible for this, as he'd been doing s**t like this before getting into Led Zeppelin, and he tended to be a sloppy guitarist live. However, I would name John Bonham as an (ex) god in the flesh. I really need to watch my How The West Was Won DVD...

It's very well known. The site I gave you a link to also covered it... EDIT: Also, being drunk is NO ******** excuse. It's stupid and disrespectful to your fans to go out on stage too wasted to play your own goddamn music.

Okay. When you say "his playing is sloppy because he was drunk" it makes it seem that way.
You were just trying to say that it wasn't because he couldn't play his own songs outside of the studio, right?

People are always arguing about Led Zeppelin ripping off other artists. I know they covered old blues songs in the past without giving much credit to its originater; but the truth is, they always were good at what they did. Weather it's "Travling Riverside Blues" or "Dazed and Confused" they were always amazing.
They may have taken a lot of blues songs, but in doing so -they brought the blues back! The 70's were filled with with bad disco, with sadly only few good rock bands. Zep did the blues in a new and exciting way. Why can't people see that? I'm not saying taking old songs is a good thing, but have you even listened to their versions? Dazed and Confused, When the Levee Breaks, Custard Pie, are many other songs are really good in Zep form!
I'm just saying give it a chance. Please? sad

Nice argument.. Thanks for that! I've been looking for a reason to fight that bad 'thing' about them.
