It had almost seemed easy there for a while, before everything turned into chaos. U'tuhlroo ran for her life, trying her best to get away with the others and still hang on to the stupid, stupid flay-rah. No way this could have been worth it.

Bram called to the kittens. "Move! I'll cover you. Your marli would want to see you make it home. Go!"

Faili was doing her best to keep running, her neck still pained and her breath still feeble. It was hard to stay in a healthy ammount of breath after such an ordeal, but she'd force herself to keep up with the others and her brother. Frith help her now if she collapsed. There was a warm burrow waiting for her on the downs, and there, and ONLY there would she rest. She'd make sure of it.

Crow thought on the hawk, and then the dog, man, and snare. Had he been white, the hawk and dog would've taken him surely. And if he wasn't born of Owsla, the snare would've killed Faili. But nothing could have prepared him for the gun. He tried to nod in response to his sister, but his heart wasn't totally in it.
"Yea... let's go home. I'm sure they're worried about us. Won't it be nice to see the warren again?"
He didn't say that he planned on never leaving it again, but he was screaming it in his head. He could hear someone calling to them, and lifted his head to see one of the Owsla shouting at them to hurry. Not that they could. He didn't even care that he called them kittens. In fact, he didn't care that any of the rabbits today had called him that. Normally he hated the word, but today he certainly felt like a helpless little kit.

Bramblebur followed after the youngsters, ticking off names in his head. Who had fallen? Who were escaping? Who still had to be accounted for? He had half a mind to tear the ears of the one who suggested this massacre. The buck looked for the other owsla who came along on the raid. Ginkgo was running home. Blueflax...wasn't running any more. Althea, Badassi, Blackthorn, and Cocklebur; he didn't know exactly where they were. Perhaps in the barn.
"Come on. You're doing so well. Just a bit further," he encouraged them as he ran.
