Saieve turned to face Helena, "Oh? Well maybe some sort of healing power, but would that allow for her to hit so hard?" Saieve tried to stay focused on the question at hand, but he was finding it rather difficult at the time.

Clarissa frowned at the idea of fighting a healer. Would healing really allow for harder hits? She had no idea. But Helena got to stab the girl. For some reason, that made Clarissa a little angry - not at the woman, but at herself. I'm so weak compared to these people. Why am I the weakest? If taken into account her height and the fact that the majority of the people there at least five years older, then it'd be understandable. However, Clarissa felt that it shouldn't have been an excuse.
I need to train. I need to get better. It wasn't so much as fighting against the Eves, but she needed to learn how to fight. I can't let myself be so weak.

"Well, as I said, it can't be just a healing ability. Some means of biological manipulation or control. Some way of speeding up or intensifying the body's natural functions." The artist shrugged. "I don't know for sure, but I do know she can do both. Can't say I go around getting punched, but I know that it definitely shouldn't have hurt as much as it did when she hit me." This line of reasoning led her to recount experiences with Agent R which in turn sent her back to her dreams. Ugh, why did I have to be such a foolish girl? Some part of her still yearned for that freak of a man, and it was unsettling. Then again, I'm a bit freaky too. She smirked at the pun that so many people would have taken advantage of had she spoken aloud these thoughts.

Clarissa looked between the two adults with a bit of apprehension. "...I think we should train." She hurried with her explanation, "We didn't do so well in the last fight," least of all me, "and maybe we should take advantage of this time." She paused, "I'm not a good fighter. Still, I want to be of some use out there." She knew her stuff from books, but it didn't mean much unless she could put it to practice. She'd noticed that the few times she did get to practice she'd made vast amounts of improvement.
She hoped that her suggestion wouldn't get shot down.

Saieve grinned, "Alright, sounds good to me, let's do it! I know how to fight and a few other things, so I could act as a tutor since no one else is around."

Clarissa's eyes widened along with her smile. "Would you mind training me?" She'd take whatever help she could get to train. I am almost glad for the long shower Lance is taking. "What first?"

"Certainly!" Saieve quickly agreed, "I'd love to."
He stepped back a few feet and put a hand to his chin, "Let's see...it's best to start with the basics, of course. Do you know any stances? No? Well, let's just start off with the basic Warrior's Stance, it's the one that you really need to know."
He paused to demonstrate, stepping back with right foot, angling both his feet and his to the right about forty-five degrees and at about shoulder-width apart.
"Now," Saieve said, bending both his knees slightly and raising his hands to chin-level and curling, not clenching his fingers, "Can you mimic this?"

Clarissa scanned his posture before mimicking it. Something happened--
You failure. Why can't you do such a simple thing. Poor thing just lacks confidence. What she lacks is passion. Why is this so hard? Why can't you do it? Why WHY WHY?
--But it came and left so fast, Clarissa had no idea what happened. Furrowing her brows, she maintained her posture. "What next, Saieve?" She would do this. She had to.

Saieve smiled, "Good." he noticed her furrow her brow, "Just stay relaxed, that's a major key in fighting. Now let's go over moving, real quick, movement is vital in a fight, and from this stance you can be anywhere within an opponent's 360 degree arc easily. A few key things to remember, never cross your legs when moving, and always resume the stance when you're done moving."
He stepped forward with his left foot roughly forty-five degrees out a few inches (a foot at best) and brought his right foot back behind the left, resuming his stance. He then moved his right foot forward at about forty-five degrees and twelve inches out and brought his left foot in front of his right, resuming the stance once more.
He then repeated the same for each side, only moving backwards instead.
"Think you can do that? It's not too complicated and it'll come easier and smoother with practice."

Clarissa tried to relax as she copied the host's movements. It took a little time (it felt awkward), but she got it quickly enough. "Okay. What next?" Saieve showed her more things, such as punching and basic kicking. She was soaking up all the information and training like a sponge. I didn't think I would get the hang of this so fast. Indeed, she was a pretty fast learner.
After going over all the basics, she looked at Saieve questioningly. "Um, do you mind if we spar a bit? I want to try and put all this to practice."

"Of course, I was just about to suggest a spar!" Saieve agreed, "Whenever you're ready."

Helena pressed her back to the wall so she was out of the way. In the meantime, she did her best to learn by watching these two. She did have a basic grasp of combat strategy, but the deft movements were something she lacked. Her rather barbaric style in the last two encounters stood as strong testament to that. "Don't kick her a** too much, Saieve. It'd be nice if she remained in one piece." Grissom was only joking of course, and had a playful smile on her face.

Helena shrugged. "Well, do you mean a handicap match or a free-for-all? Untrained or not, I don' think a handicap match would be fair much." She glanced at Clarissa, wondering what her opinion was.

In the time it took Clarissa to finish learning the stance, Elizabeth was returning with her hair still damp, wearing (as the others had) clean versions of what she'd been wearing before.
