I think, Ichigo, that fear in the individuals in the religion as well as ignorance and the lack of acceptance is what keeps homosexuals apart, not necessarily the religion itself. However, I see an interesting point…

Religion and government technically shouldn’t go together, but how is one to remove them? Let me explain, people are IN the government. People HAVE beliefs. To most, their beliefs dictate their actions and it is their actions that influence their decisions. Now, these beliefs don’t NEED to be religious, but they can be. I believe that Christian representation of anti-homosexuality is used as a tool or as a cover to hide behind to deflect the fact that they have insecurities about these couples. But those are just my thoughts.

Anyway, the topic hasn’t been going very fast. I would just like to remind everyone that we don’t have to just debate problems here, but discuss what we find while studying or living our religion. However, I’m perfectly fine with discussing any modern (or older) problems as I find them very interesting to say the least.

I am a proud Christian.

@ Ichigo only the first part of your statement: Is your statement true for just you, or is it true for everyone? Because if you say that one thing can be true for one person and not another as a generalization, you are assuming that your statement is true for everyone, which kind of contradicts your point.

Heh? which part?
There is no one true faith. Everyone has a faith and the faith they have gives them their own personal reason for existence.

By accepting, and respecting, everyone's decisions to their faith, we could probably end half the wars that will ever take place in the future before they even start.

I think any religion is ok as long as the religion does not harm innocent people and does not force an unwanted lifestyle on unrelated individuals.
the bolded part??? that's what a religion does. that's why they were made. That's why any religion (the ones that came before, and the ones that came after, and christianity) why else would we have religion? It is there to explain why and how we got on earth, it explains how we should live our lives. Tell me your religion doesn't do that? You do, and I will LAUGH in your face.

The point of my post was to say that everyone needs to accept that everyone is different. Not to look down on any other religion or to hold yours above everyone else's.

my bolded part is my opinion of religion as a whole not any one specific religion. because that's what religion does. it gives people a reason for their existence, or reason to continue going, it explains what we cannot explain ourselves.
