Ahem. Well Hello Everyone!
I’m terribly sorry to have kept you all waiting! And I uh- hope I’m not the only one that’s been taking advantage of the restful peace around the castle because I’ve got some exciting announcements that are sure to stir things up!
First off, the house ghosts tell me that Fright Week! had a modest turnout, but for those few, it paid off with some great prizes. Congratulations to raffle winners vivacious_red, Aunt Slappy, techpriest35 and to the winner of the Grand Prize: techpriest35! On behalf of the ghosts I thank you all for participating in our annual Halloween event! But I'm afraid we must now move on to bigger and brighter things!
Which brings me to the next item on our agenda: this December is our guild’s 7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
That’s right, this guild was founded SEVEN YEARS ago, and we are going to honor our history with a huge extravaganza! The mod squad and myself have a few things in the works but we want you to be a part of this landmark celebration! So go on over to the S.F.Q. to share your ideas and become a part of the history!
I'm also happy to announce that we've recently added a very eager vivacious_red to the mod squad, so don't hold back, students! Whatever your idea is, we want to hear it, and we want to make it happen!
Next up, I am absolutely tickled to announce that Aunt Slappy has volunteered to be the editor of the Hogwarts Monthly! So listen up all you writing enthusiasts, it’s time to dust off your keyboards and head over to the Hogwarts Monthly Editors Office so you can see your name in print!
Great job Students and House Elves alike! I’m happy to see many of you keeping up with this fall term! One thing I've noticed us falling slightly behind on is recruiting. Remember, we're all responsible for bringing in next term's crop of new members. It is for this reason that from now until the end of term event, I will be rewarding not just 10pts, but a whopping 25pts to your house for each person recruited! So go on and get our name out there! ( ninja This might be a good place to start...)

We're approaching a very busy time in HPGoG:
the Holidays!!
That means you'll see A LOT of messages from me.... make sure to read all of them!
Ahem Now to important matters.
I already mentioned that there's going to be an ultra spectacular event to commemorate the guild's 7 year anniversary.... well that's all I'm going to say about that!
Ladies and Gentleman, please direct yourselves to the School Term Calendar: disregard the remaining dates EXCEPT the fact that classes have ended (or will be soon).
For the two most important items, I'll announce the date in advance.
I'm, of course, referring to Sorting AND the 7 Year Anniversary Event.
Do not fear, all of the eligible house-elves will be sorted way before the event begins.

Hello There Magical Population at Large!
So sorry for the delay in these announcements! Alas, to my eternal chagrin it seems that despite my most persistent efforts, I can't be in seven places at once to get these messages out to you as frequently as I'd like. sweatdrop
Ahem Anyway! Lots of exciting news today!
Firstly, Some Clarifications Regarding the Recruiting Contest:
1. The contest will end on January 2, 2012.
2. The top recruiter shall receive a Monthly Collectible Letter for December 2011!
3. Remember, in order to receive credit for your recruits, they must put your name in their guild join request! So do remind them to give you credit.
Now go on out there and spread our good name!
Good news for all you restless eligible House Elves, The Sorting Hat is now OPEN!!! Students don't forget to welcome your new House Mates in the common room!
And onto the most exciting news of all!
I'm very pleased to announce that we'll be starting
HPGoG's 7 Year Anniversary Spectacular Celebration!
in the Great Hall
Friday, December 16th!

*Professor Adonis enters and begins to address all the students and house elves, opening his arms in a wide sweeping motion.*
WhaAa aHh MmmMmn WhAoH! Hmmf Raaahrah.
*He pauses for a moment at the bewildered expressions in front of him. Then snaps his fingers in realization and exclaims something probably along the lines of "Oh! Silly Me..." Though it's hard to be sure as his voice is being muffled by a large bubble engulfing his head. He raises his wand and punctures the large bubble, which vanishes with a POP*
There we go! Can you all hear me now? Good.
I bet now you are all wondering why I was using a bubble head charm. Well I'll tell you. You see a few weeks ago one of the mod Squad staff members was taken ill with Dragon Pox, which as I'm sure many of you know is highly contagious. Needless to say that, inseparable as the Heads of Houses are, it quickly spread to several other members of the Staff. It was quickly contained of course, I have been helping the nurse tend to them for the past few weeks and I'm pleased to say that you're hard working Heads of Houses are all well on their way to recovery!
That said, it is my bittersweet duty to inform you that Professor Tina Aurora, Professor Amber Moonshade, Professor Kamalia-Mingan, and our long-time Head Elf, Alicia Elf have all finally decided to take a well earned break from their duties. It seems that after my months of advising them to take a vacation, what I really needed was for them to have a weakened immune system to get them to agree, they simply loved their jobs too much to see reason. Now, I know we will all be sorry to see such excellent and devoted Heads leave their positions, but I find that as sorry as I am, it's nothing compared to how very happy I am for the freedom that awaits them in their retirement.
I also think that many of you will find, that when one door closes, another one opens.
*Adonis flicks his wand and a large stack of papers appears neatly in front of him.*

Harry Potter Guild of Gaia Moderator Position Application
Open Slots: Head of Gryffindor House, Head of Hufflepuff House, Head of Slytherin House, and Head Elf
Rules for Applying:
 1. You must have been a member since at least Sep of '11.
2. You must have been sorted into the House of the Head Position for which you are applying.
3. The Position of Head Elf can be applied for by both House Elves AND students.
4. You may apply for at TWO positions at the most. (Head Elf + Head of __________ House)
5. Send in your application to Professor Adonis in a PM with the Subject being "HPGoG Application: ((Insert Acronym of Position You're Applying For))" The Acronyms for the positions are:
Head of Gryffindor House = HoGH, Head of Hufflepuff House = HoHH, Head of Slytherin House = HoSH, Head Elf = HE.
6. All applications must be done in House Colors, any breaking of the rules will not be tolerated.
7. The Deadline for Applications is FEBRUARY 10, 2012 at 12AM PST! Don't miss it!
The applications will be reviewed by the remaining members of the Mod Squad, and also some of the departing members as well. We will be judging you not only on your application but also on your past behavior and activity.
The Mod Squad works together in the background to make sure that things run smoothly in HPGoG. The duties a moderator may be expected to take on include: updating the guild, planning and setting up events, doing everything you can to make the members feel welcome, managing the student activity lists and sending out warnings when they are needed, and of course being standout members dedicated keeping the Harry Potter Guild of Gaia a fun and magical place.

I was very pleased with the response we received, and it is unfortunate that I couldn't just accept the whole lot (though it would rather circumvent the system if we had a deputy-deputy-deputy-deputy Head of Hufflepuff House, don't you think?) Nevertheless, do not despair if you weren't chosen, for there are still many positions available to you, and remember that your ideas and suggestions will always be heard in the Suggestions, Feedback, & Questions topic. Just continue being the stellar members that you are, and in good time, you may gain what you seek.

Attention Students and Elves and Undecideds!
It is amazing what having a healthy group of right hand men and women does, oh those heads of houses, they keep me in line and on schedule I find.
Anyways! The points are in, and it seems that Hufflepuff are the triumphant winners of the 2011 Fall Term House Cup!
Congratulations Hufflepuff with a whopping 670 points!
Our top recruiter for the term was Miss Calliope Wimple, who has graciously decided to give her prize, a Thank You Letter, back to HPGoG! Thank you very much my dear!
Now onto the top poster awards--
*The doors into the Great Hall burst open, seemingly of their own accord, that is until an unfamiliar house elf, hops up on the chair next to the Headmaster to whisper in his ear.*

Introducing...
That's right members the modsquad is now launching Operation Scourgify!
What is Operation Scourgify, you ask? Well it's around that time that we clean-up the guild, usually that mostly involves simply banning the inactive members, but not this time. This time we're going through the whole guild looking at all the threads, updating, organizing, and adding new things!
Have any ideas on ways to make house elves more active? What a new fun game might be? Any ideas at all for the graduates thread? Please don't hesitate to tell us your ideas at The SFQ topic in the Care-Taker's Office!
This is part of our ongoing project to make HPGoG even better, and we here at the mod squad look forward to your involvement!
