My friends love Dir en Grey, I turned them onto it.
My parents could care less what I listen to, as long as I don;t deafen them with it. It's fine in my soundproofed bedroom though. ^^;

My new computer's speakers aren't very loud, so i guess it works on her behalf. ^^; I only have maybe 2 friends who are into jrock, though i dont think neither are very in depth with it. They know malice mizer and dir en grey, the basic bands many jrock fans first begin with.

Well... it's kind of a yes and no for me...
I love Dir en Grey, my mom really like them... my grandma likes songs like Cage and Kasumi, but thinks Kyo is creepy/ugly... my and grandpa like a few songs here and there too.
They are glad that I'm into something different... my mom knows that there is some cursing in some songs, but she doesn't mind... she doesn't know that they talk about sexual related things though... I plan to keep that a secret too! eek
But all in all... they aprove... but you won't catch me watching a live dvd... not until I know every movement they make...

I also like D'espairs Ray, L'arc en Ciel and Psycho le Cemu too ^^

I am so freaking glad no one can understand what they're saying. I only get a few odd looks from Sensei every now and then, but I think that's sort of a good thing. It seems like he views me as a step of maturity above the other students. Dunno how that works, but it does.

Dunno how that works, but it does. i'm glad my parents don't have a clue what they're singing about. if they did, they'd forbid me to listen to them. and then i'd die. i got a lot of my friends into DeG. two of them already knew who they were and i just hadn't known. one friend of mine hates DeG, and is convinced that if i keep listening to them i'll go to hell.

Some people at my school think I'm freaky because I listen to Dir en grey... I think they're scared of how Diru dresses... ><
My mom disproves it so much that she pretends that I don't like them.

My mom would freak if she knew what they were sayin in some songs.
I get the weird looks about my music. People think it's all bad and preverted, but they just won't give Diru a chance. Poor people, don't get to hear good music at it's best.

Most people at my school could really care less what I listen to. I do love the reactions I get when people find out they're actually men though. 'specially Sai's ...that was just priceless.
The only people that I really don't like are the one's who can't tell that Die and Kyo have penises. ): I think it's painfully obvious that they're men.

Wow ... I just read through all the pages, and I feel extremely lucky. My parents accepted my obsession with Japan and all things Japanese back when I was in junior high school. By the time I found Dir en grey they just kind of shrugged and said, "Eh, it's another one". Actually, this spring break I didn't play as much of my Japanese CDs as I usually do and my mom wanted to know if I was feeling okay - she missed the music herself.
My friends all like Dir en grey, to different levels of obsession. Some like them more than others, some have completely given up on them since Vulgar came out and will only listen to Gauze, others are just in it for the costumes. It's interesting. It was hysterical - my friend recently heard "Berry" for the first time and had only this to say about it: "That is SEXY guitar playing."
