Luna had one last challenge. To walk across a rotted log filled with beavers and seagulls screaming past her head as they were shot out of a cannon. How cruel! Maybe she could catch a seagull or two and save them? Giggling at the thought, she decided against it. She had done good so far. "Ok last one!" she mini cheered to herself as she prepared to cross. She put one foot on the log and it creaked. Gulping, she took a deep breath and set off across the log...

She couldn't believe it! She actually couldn't believe it! Had she just completed the course with no failures? Some close calls yes, as the log started to crack just as she was nearing the end, but she had made it! Grinning she felt fueled. And on her birthday no less! Pumping her fist in the air she glared at the course with a smirk. "I think I'll try that again later....."

At first, Ripley wasn't sure about this challenge at all. It was by far the most...physically demanding of the challenges so far. He knew that wasn't his strongest point.
"But I have survived jumping off a cliff and being in a gators mouth," he muttered as he swallowed the last of his biscuit. Maybe this would be doable. (Even if both of those events hadn't really tested the true fitness of the campers.)

"Here goes nothing," he said to himself encouragingly as he started towards the first obstacle. Mentally, he started to psych himself up for this course. The first part seemed simple enough...just a belly crawl or something of the like. The kind of thing folks do in them army movies all the time. Yeah...this was something he could do.
With a snort and a grunt he hunkered down to crawl. "I can do this," he whispered to himself.

He stayed super close to the ground, taking his time, careful not to get snagged. Luckily, he had picked one of the dryer areas to crawl through...and only had a bit of mud on his underside. Not that it mattered, of course...He had made it through the first obstacle!

And before him was the second. A cliff. That he had to climb. For a moment, he stood, mouth gaping. Was he really gonna be able to that?
He knew other campers had. That meant he could, too.

"Up we go," he said as he began his climb.

Ratchet stared down at the tracks and marks made in the dirt by those who had gone before her. Where on earth did Chef get his challenge ideas? It was way too early for this. Still, at least there didn't seem to be any hidden alligators in this dirt- it looked straightforward enough, even though there was a serious chance of getting hit by water balloons. However, the chance wasn't good enough for Ratchet to get hit, and she made it to the other side with no serious incidents. Grumbling, she stood up and brushed some of the filth off of her shirt and pants. She didn't mind getting dirty, but she really preferred for it to be on her own terms.

Even if Chef hadn't been incredibly explicit about the no-tools rule, Ratchet wasn't anywhere near that irresponsible with her things. She wasn't going to hurt any of her precious tools by jamming them into a cliff face! Telling herself it was just like climbing up the side of the old barn at home, Ratchet shut her eyes, ignored the height, and scrambled up the side of the cliff as quickly as she could. She only opened them again when she could feel that she'd made it to the top.

As she got to the top of the cliff, Ratchet looked around for the next challenge. She hadn't really been paying that much attention down below, and couldn't remember quite what to do. Fortunately, it was pretty obvious. Rope swings! Ratchet knew rope swings; she'd put them in more haylofts than she could remember, and had enjoyed each and every one of them. So what if there were alligators below? She was good at holding on. As the alligators snapped below her, she thought she could see her... 'friend' from yesterday, the metal mouth guard still in place. If it hadn't required taking a paw from the rope, she might have waved to him. For somebody who had been so grouchy when she'd started the course, Ratchet was in quite a giddy mood. This swinging thing was fun!

Huffing and puffing, Ripley made it to the top of the cliff. Quickly as he could, he scrambled over the edge, somehow, he had made it. It had been a bit rough, and he was sure a couple times he was gonna fall (who knew dirt could be so slippery), and that mattress seemed a lot smaller from up high.
He rolled over and lay near the edge for a moment, catching his breath and letting his limbs rest. He was almost afraid to see the next challenge.

With a sigh, he got up and headed towards the next challenge. Crap. A rope, with water...and gators. Again with the gators. He had unpleasant memories of his last (it had also been his first) encounter with a gator. In fact, he was pretty sure that was what his nightmare last night had been about.

Again, he told himself over and over that he could do this. Really, it was just a rope swing. He had played on those as a kid. Of course, there had been no gators involved.
With a nod of courage, he reached for the rope, and readied himself for a swing.

The final event was probably the worst for Ratchet. She hated having to balance with no safety measures in place; but really, it could be worse. At least there was a ball pit below this thing. Muttering to herself that it was just like a big roof beam or rafter, she put a paw out onto the log, then another. She was nearly there; just a few more steps, and she'd be fine... Owww, seagull to the face. Not cool at all. Ratchet fell into the ball pit quite ungracefully, then hauled herself out to attempt the log again, this time keeping a better eye out for projectile birds.

The second time across the log was much better, because Ratchet knew where the seagulls were coming from. It was just some simple geometry to figure out where they'd hit, and she made it a point not to be there when it happened. Though there were a few times when she felt quite shaky on the log, she didn't fall off and eventually hit the other side. She'd made it! Now, to see if there was any food left at the start of the course, and to think about trying it again. She'd repeat it as many times as she had time to; it wasn't that bad, and if a gator chomp meant Beaver victory, she'd be more than willing to get nibbled.

(Finished 1 time, 1 failure)

Ok. The swing had been kinda fun. A little scary with the chomping gators...but the adrenaline rush had made up for that. He landed on the other side of the pit with light thud. Having made it this far...he was rather proud of himself.

The next obstacle, however....well. He would have to see how this one went. It seemed simple....cross the log. He fancied himself as having good balance.
And the balls beneath it seemed rather nonthreatening. Then seagulls flying through the air above it were another matter entirely. His mind flashed to several different game shows he had seen in the past, where the contestants had to cross something with other things being flung towards them. These kinds of obstacles often seemed to be the most difficult.

"Okay," he said, narrowing his eyes in focus. "I did the others...I can do this one, too!" He ran towards the log...

He had ran, rather recklessly across the log. Luck, not skill had been the reason for him getting across. Somehow, he had not been hit by the gulls, and he had only kinda slipped once. When he was on the other side, he stopped...and grinned. He couldn't believe he had finshed. And unscathed, too.

Almost drunk with pride and giddiness...he decided to have another run through. The Master Chief said they could...and why not? It hadn't been that hard. He could totally do it again!

He ran around back to the beginning and dove straight into the first obstacle again. He chose to enter in one of the muddiest places he could see, this time. He wanted to get all dirty. It was gonna be even more fun that way, right?
((Begin second run through!))

Noel just stared at the first obstacle course. Mud and wires, fashions worst enemy. Though he had laid in the mud last night face first, it was different. Last night he'd been in a state of sorrow and didn't care if he got dirty. Today the mod was feeling a lot better and more him old self.

Well, he jumped off that cliff for his team and even got eaten by a crocodile. A little mud and wires he could do.

Noel got on his belly and started. It was very clear on the mods face that he did not want to do this. His team needed him though and he planned on helping his team out the best he could.

He squished his way through the crawl, the adrenaline from the gators and finishing the course once propelling him through the mud. It had been a little more difficult going through the muddier part...but he barley noticed. As soon as he was finished with the crawl, he raced towards the cliff.

Looking up at the next obstacle, Ripley whispered to himself again, "Up we go!" He was excited, so far his run was going well (he didn't think about the fact he hadn't started the second part yet). He had done the cliff once....this was gonna be easy the second time. Reaching out with a grunt, Ripley started up the side of the cliff.

Noel was dirty but some how he'd managed to dodge those stupid wires. His clothing was intact at least. Good.

Only now there was a huge cliff in front of him... Not so good. The mod took a breath and just stared. He was no climbing expert but again his team needed him. Damn.

The mod took a breath and started up the cliff at a nice steady pace. At least there were mattresses at the bottom if he screwed up.

Surprisingly, to the mod at least, he'd made it all the way up and not goofed up. Amazing since Noel tended to run into walls and trip quite often. Yes the boy was a klutz.

Maybe it was cause he wasn't doing this for him self but for his team? Yeah, maybe.

The boy wasn't about to begin to get cocky though. He still had two more courses to survive. Gulp. The gator pits. The nightmare from yesterday. Though, admittedly, the gator did look good with that top hat.

That challenge was just EVIL. Noel shut his eyes and just gripped the vine with all his might. He was not going to look down below at the gators. Not after he'd spent an afternoon in one of their toothy mouths. Top hatted or not, the mouth of a gators all the same.

Well, hear went nothing. Noel lunged forward clinging to the vine for his life... and screaming some.
