Rabid nodded and laughed, although she wsn't quite sure if Chao could hear her. She gunned the engine and sped off, her mind floating from one thing to another. It was a lot easier to make light of everything than to accept the facts.
Liam was never coming back alive.
Neither was Julian.
She gave a deep, gut-wrenching sob and broke into near-hysterics.
Damn.

Spellcasting
Magic is a fussy thing. Honestly, it much to fussy for it's own good. One tiny little thing and BAM you've got a major slip up. Jizzy was prone to slip ups, and major ones, aren't that far off from the normal kind.
Jizzy, being the stuborn mule that she was, was delving in magic, again. Even with her twisted ankle, swolen cheek and a century or so of not having done magic. She was hunched over a cauldron, a book and a rather large cauldron steaming over a fire. Her intentiosn were to prepare a healing salve, something to speed up her healing, being the impatient one that she was.
"Heat the potion at EXACTLY 300 degrees.." She read aloud, poking at the fire with a thermometer. When it had reached teh right temperature, she began to stir it, adding ingredients in as she read it.
In the other room Deimos was smirking, tossing a fireball nfrom hand to hand. He'd been toying with his power ever since he'd gotten it. The fire faded and grew in his ahnd, at his whim. He relished the power, loved it's feeling. He made the fire flare in his hand, and the fire outside by the cauldron flared as well, not that he knew. He lessened it, and the fire fell outside as well. He didn't know the extent of his power, nor did he care to much. He was just having to much fun.
Jizzy didn't notice the flux in the fire as she added the ingredients in one by one. She continued with her spell tossing the last ingredient in and the cauldren let out a puff of green smoke. Green? But, the book said blue. Jizzy peered inside the cauldron and found it to be empty.
"What the hell! I'd just filled this up!" She said, looking around for any traces of spell or potion or something. There was nothing and she lay down, sighing. Things enver did go her way.

~The Awakening~
Deep within the bowels of a large Vavvian dump, a fire erupted. Large amouts of rotting food stuffs bubbled and steamed, becoming nothing but horridly stinking black ashes. Deeper still, the flames licked down...down...down. They suddenly found what they had been searching for. The flames licked cold, grey limbs and rotting flesh. They entered a deep slit in the throat of the body and snaked within, jumpstarting the heart and lungs...causing the internal organs to again begin their processes. Sore, sunken eyes fluttered open and peered around, frightened. The flames then engulfed the entire body, in and out, and disappeared. The body twitched spasmodically before closing its eyes and imploding completely, pitch-black tendrils of smoke floating from its mouth.
~~
Dark-skinned Drow guards scurried about the Forest Torturehouse, trying in vain to douse the flames that had so suddenly engulfed it. It was completely unexplained! Snow was on the ground, and there was no storm. There was no prankster running about. Wait! One of the lower ranking guards suddenly ran off, after a small form seen stumbling wildly away and screeching.
"YOU! STOP!" the guard yelled. The child, for that's what it must have been, stopped abruptly. The guard approached it and spun it around, looking down at it with scorn.
"Little one! What are you doing o--" The guard hadn't the chance to finish her sentence for she fainted dead away. The child's eyes...the eyes! The child stood and resumed its blind flight out of the forest, flames still licking the hem of its tattered gown.

--The Stumbling Find--
It was late, the sky was a dark blanket over the sky and Chao was more than far enough away from the street light dotted city to be able to see as many stars as her eyes could detect from her spot in the middle of the field some ways away from home.
She was also far enough away from civilazation to sing as loud as she wanted without being caught.
"If only because dust is what we come to! And the strange thing: Your life could end up changing while you're dancing through life!" she sang to the heavens and any watching wildlife, breath rising in clouds of mist, her voice rising above the music pounding in her ears and let her voice fall as the music did.
Rather than continuing the impromptu bout of exercise for her vocal cords she merely shoved her hands back into her pocket, settling for humming along to the song that had picked up where the other one had left out. Throughout it all her feet continued thumping away, moving her further across the field and continuing her walk to clear her head and get away from her, while loving, sometimes a bit stifling, family.

Liam travelled along invisibly, his hands shoved into his pockets. Ever since that girl on the street had called him a zombie, he'd thought it best to stay unseen. He'd only been able to take a quick look at himself in a reflective window, and he was, in fact, quite creepy-looking. His skin was mottled grey, and there was still blood seeping from his nose, ears, and slit throat. His eyes were still multi-toned navy with the usual Vavvian bright blue swirl, curling around a normal Human pupil...but now they were sunk so horribly deep into his face they were almost colourless. His messy brown hair was even moreso, not to mention caked with blood and various unmentionables.
He was both angsting about and relishing his appearence when he heard someone singing. Anybody out this late couldn't possibly be as easily frightened as a 5-year-old. He saw the young woman a bit in front of him, and he elected to pass through numerous trees to get to her.
"Ello, luv," he muttered, completely forgetting that he was invisible.

Chao started slightly at the sudden voice, her brain immediately grasping onto the masculine tilt of it and jumping to the conclusion that her brother had caught up to tell her... something...? No wait, the accent had been completely off and there hadn't been any footsteps.
Regaining her senses she looked around, "hello?" she called, looking for the source of the voice.

Liam laughed, suddenly remembering his current state. Oh, this could be fun. He quickly snatched her iPod, being only considerate enough to not hurt her, and held it above his head.
"Ello. Nice t' see yeh..."

The teen stared, coming to the first logical solution that presented itself to her.
Oh dear gods her iPod was possessed.
She raises a hand and pointed it at said iPod, "you don't have any eyes so how can you be seeing me at all?"

"Oh, bloody 'ell," Liam gave up. Apparently, people wandering around at night weren't very intelligent either. He again made himself visible and held the girl's iPod out.
"Yeh ruin all th' fun, luv."
He dreaded her reaction to his appearence, figuring it wouldn't be very positive. Ah well. Being the undead was certainly better than being a glorified stereo.

Chao blinked at the... thing holding her iPod and took it back. It was odd, after so much time in Gaia she wasn't sure whether she should be running with her tail between her legs in search of a cricket batt or... standing, staring, like she was now. Even her fight or flight response had been desensitized it seemed, though her legs were tense, ready to spring her away should whatever this thing was attempt to grab her and eat her brains. But for now warped curoisity won out.
She reached forward, taking her iPod back and tilted her head, face twisting in disgust at the general appearence of... him? It sounded like a him, "I... try? Hael, what happened to you?"

Liam furrowed his brow, disappointed. He sighed and started down at the girl. He was only a few inches taller...damnit...
"Nice ter meet yeh too. I died, luv. Note th' gaping wound and unexplained decay." He rolled his neck around, cracking out the rigor mortis. Yeah, this wasn't going to go well. He'd have to search for someone else to help him orient himself.
Ah, you dead b*****d...how I hate you.

"Ah, yay, something obvious for once," Chao looked, of all things, relieved, "well mr.gaping-hole-in-your-neck, unless you by chance have another name, are you looking for something or did you happen upon me and got the sudden desire to make me think my sterero was possessed?"

Liam smiled slightly. Sure, she was a smartass, but that was quite a bit better than fleeing in terror.
"Name's Liam," he said, offering his hand to her but quickly thinking better of it and shoving it back into his pocket, "Liam Faar. 'Ow about ye-self, small fry?" It felt great to be the one making the cracks about the vertically challenged for once.

Chao made a face at the crack about her size, "at least my skin's not coming off," it came out as a half-hearted grumble, the teen was used to being called short.
"Faar you said?" that... rang sharp bells in her head and she glanced at the ground, brow furrowing, trying to remember, "'m Chao Luaier..." her eyes lit up. Oh! The.. building-yes! Yes there was the memory! Her eyes flicked back to him. "Have you by chance been to Mei-Vaar?"

"Good point," Liam laughed richly, and then cocked his head to one side, "Vavvian through 'n through, I am. Why'd'ya ask?" It was quite strange, having someone mention Mei-Vaar. Most people didn't even know that it existed, let alone how to pronounce it. He shuddered to think about that damnable city and that horrible night...
