Ajman99 "Sure thing, Hika-chan." Isaac says happily, walking over, and sitting down. "Whenever you have a question, just ask." He says, smiling sincerly. "What are...you planning to do..." Her voice wavered a bit. "About the challenge...? Do you both really have to fight to the death? I mean, I wouldn't want either of you to be killed or anything! Certainly not injured either!" She said quickly, trying not to sound flustered.

Leon pats her head sympathetically. "It'll be fun. I just need to work the magic that got me to my captain position, and pin him the the ground, and sit on him." Isaac says, smiling. "I wont get hurt, and he wont be. I'd never hurt such a promising warrior. 'Sides, I'm not at all serious." Isaac smiles reassuringly.

"Even if TJ kills me for asking this of you, I'm very glad to hear you say that. Thank you, Isaac-taicho." She glanced over her shoulder at another bed where an elderly shinigami lay((XD No, not Ukitake, another bed!)), and said, "Well, I suppose, I promised him that I would sing, and he's had a difficult day... I hope you don't mind." She approached him and sang a beautiful song in her soft and soothing voice, allowing the suffering man to take comfort in it and fall asleep. Once he was out, she moved back over to the bed where Chou lay. "I certainly hope I'm not going to have to use my shikai on this girl," she said, frowning.

"If you don't want to, I can. Just a few pricks, and she'd lose a small quantity of reiatsu." Isaac smiles. "You have a beautiful voice though." He looks to the ceiling. "Back before I was a Soul Reaper, my sister, Haruhi would always sing to me, and I'd sit there, and just listen. And for me, that's an acheivement. But... my sister died of a sickness, which left me all alone, until Retsu-sempai came and found me, a little boy, shaking and shivering all alone. But, I didn't become a shinigami for another one hundred years afterwards."

Ukitake would be laying on his side away from the visitor's pretending to be asleep. He'd listen to them very carefully and frowned, he knew it to be true that Chou would have to be drained if it didn't go down soon, but it should have been very apparent to the shinigami around her that her body was actually sending off two reiatsu readings. He was highly curious as to why the young girls body was giving off two reiatsu readings instead of one and he knew very well that the captain of the research squad (I shall replace this segment with a name later) would be more interested in it then anyone, maybe possibly even want to disect her to study her. He would then hear Hikari start to hum softly to an elderly shinigami in a corner. He would relax for a little while while listening to the song and then his eyes shot open as he heard Chou begin to moan either in pain or in fear in her sleep.
Chou found herself by a large lake with her father, they would both be feeding the ducks with large chunks of bread. A particularly fat duck would force it's way through them and gobble the entire slice of bread whole. Chou felt her eyes widen and stared at the duck in awe, and she would hear her father laugh loudly at her reaction. Everything was so loud and so big to a child, she would look up at her father and laugh cheerfully, reaching a tiny hand for his and clung to one of his fingers tightly.
"Daddy... do we have to go home so soon? I don't think momma likes me very much..."
Her father would gently rub her head and smile softly, although his eyes would reveal a very sad look in them. Hikari's song would be heard as she sat with her father and she would look about in confusion.
"Yes sweet heart... we have to go home. But I promise I'll bring you again tomorrow if you are good for momma ok...?"
Chou would look out at the water and turn to her father, and her eyes would open in fear, she was staring at her fathers severed head sitting on the ground sitting in a pool of blood. She would scream and then ran into the lake, when she looked down she was standing knee deep in blood and she looked back to her father.
"Chou... Why did you leave me chou...? Did you let me die...?"
Chou would hear herself scream inside of her head. She would cling to her father's cross and scream out for her father.
"DAD I'm sorry!"
Chou would bolt up from her bed covered in sweat, her heart pounding at a hundred miles per second, she would be clinging to her fathers cross tightly, it would be glowing a light blue as she clung to it tightly in her fingers. Her words however would come out in pure english, she wasn't sure if anyone around her could understand her, but at the moment she didn't care. She would release the cross from her fingers as she felt it grow hot, her eyes blinded by tears. She'd look around and notice Hikari and Isaac and look confused, forgetting where she was at the moment. Her words would come out weakly from her mouth, her voice was horse but still soft and timid. Her reiatsu was slowly starting to drop from it's high point, atleast her second one was.
"Who... who are you...?"
Ukitake would quickly sit up and look over to chou, he saw how much paler she had gotten, and quickly jumped up and walked over to her laying her back down.
"Murisake- san... you shouldn't jump up like that... you'll make your condition worse. It's alright... no one is going to hurt you ok?"
Chou saw him and smiled weakly and then started to calm down, remembering where she was. Her oddly colored blue eyes would slowly move around the room studying everyone in it. She felt her body starting to recover rapidly, and she sighed softly and looked over to Ukitake.
"Thanks Ukitake- san..."

Ajman99 "Hiya! I'm Isaac, third division Captain." He smiles an offers his hand. "You... your a quincy, correct?" She'd blink when she saw Issac offer her his hand, she then realized he had held it out for her to take. She's smile softly and gently took his hand. "Nice to meet you Isaac- San, my name is Murisake (sp?), Chou..."She would look down sadly at her fathers crucifix that hung heavily around her neck. She felt it hang on her neck, but she felt it's weight bear down on her heart. She would then answer the question sadly. "My father stated that I was in a letter he attached to his will, but... my fathers child hood friend he told me to look for pretty much told me there was no way I was... he said my blood was too impure..."She looked down cursing herself for things that were impossible for her to change, let alone weren't her fault. She then seemed to fall into another depressed daze.

She then seemed to fall into another depressed daze. Hikari turned to the third captain after she'd finished her song and replied, "Thank you, but it isn't really all me. My zanpakuto, Keikoku, guides me, I just know that she does." Her expression fell when she heard him speak of his sister. "Oh, Isaac-taicho, I'm sorry for your sister." She jumped when the girl cried out and turned to face her. "U-Ukitake-taicho... I didn't realize..." she shied away. Honestly, Hikari always tended to feel extremely nervous with the captains there. The only captains that she felt somewhat at ease with were Isaac, Unohana, and Hitsugaya. The rest she felt extremely intimidated being around with her shy personality. Finally, Hikari was able to push the feeling aside and smiled comfortingly to the girl. "So, your name is Murisake Chou-san? My name is Misuzu Hikari," she greeted. "I hope that you and I can be friends," she giggled. She figured that Tsu would kill her for saying that, but since he was going to kill her for the talk she'd had with Isaac, she didn't really care anymore. She didn't believe in the war that had raged between her kind and the quincy, and she would rather judge a person by their real personality than a dumb title. That was the problem with the Seiretei, was they had too many rules and regulations that made no sense to Hikari.

Reena gets out of bed and trudges to the kitchen, slamming around, making herself breakfast. "What's all the racket?" Leon barks, coming in from his lab. "Breakfast," she grunts in response, and continues to slam around until she's sitting at the table with a plate of cheesy scrambled eggs. "Go back and work on your project," she tells him, and doesn't look at him again as he leaves to go work. "Workaholic," Reena murmurs to herself.

Isaac sees Hikari's expression, and sighs. "You don't know why the quincy and Shinigami fought, do you?" Without waiting, he presses on. "The Shinigami purify the hollow when they kill it. It keeps the balance of souls. But Quincy. They destroy the soul, setting the soul-scale off balance. The Shinigami had a problem with that, so they killed the Quincy."

"I know all that," Hikari answered. "But, I just don't see the point of us hating a dead race. Why did the shinigami have to kill them all? Couldn't a more peaceful solution be met? And should we be taking an ancient war out on this girl who is suffering right in front of us? It isn't her fault that the war happened any more than it is our fault." She frowned stubbornly.

Ukitake would turn to Hikari and chuckle somewhat as he heard Hikari nearly jump out of her skin, he found it oddly enough cute. He was tired, however, of hearing members of other squads constantly grovel at him and treat him as if he were a god for his possition, he felt quite refreshed with how Chou had responded to him earliar, not as anything lower or below her but as an equal. He looked over at Hikari and gave a half bow. "Misuzu FukuTaicho (sp?), are you the one tending to Murisaki- San?" Chou would lift her head up and smiled softly at Hikari, gently letting go of her fathers cross. She spoke softly although it seemed like her voice may disappear at any second with how soft and quiet it was. She forgot her Japanese mannerisms and began to speak with her American English speaking habits. She would tilt her head and smile sweetly, to most people it would remind them of a child's innocent smile. "Nice to meet you Hikari... I would love to be friends with you."Chou's face paled as she heard the boy calling himself Isaac speak about what Quincies did. She looked really upset for a moment as she heard her stomach growl, but at the moment her eyes filled with tears and she began to hold back sobs. "Did Dad do that to hollows...? I don't know what a hollow is... but I know that no living thing deserves that..."She began to sniffle wondering if her father wasn't the hero she made him out to be. She shook her head violently to rid herself of the thought. NO! Dad would never do something like that... he was much to kind. He even let mom get away with such things...She then sat up and looked determined, she then quickly climbed up out of the bed and gently clasped her hands around Ukitake. "Ukitake- San... at first I wanted to become a Quincy so I could become just like my father, so I could find out who took his life and make them pay for what they did, but after hearing that I... I just can't even think that a murderer deserves even that..."She looked down uncertain unsure of what she was about to say. In general she was a shy girl, but when it came down to her father she became determined and strong. "Ukitake- San... No! Ukitake- Sama... can you train me to be just like you?!"She would bow down at his feet and start begging, tears starting to blind her. Her tears flowed from anger, sadness, and confusion. However through all this her inner strength showed brighter then the sun at day break. "I will work really hard... I will do anything you ask and I will practice everyday... please... just please... help me to grow stronger!"Ukitake's face went from a sad look of pitty, to a stern frown. He gently took her hand and pulled her up. "Murisake- San... you shouldn't be standing in your condition, let alone bowing on the ground, you are still recovering. Please do not bow down to me because it does not make me feel comfortable. Murisake- San... I can't make you into something your not, much like how a bird can not teach a fish to fly like it can. But at the very least I can try and help you control you reiatsu. I'm sorry but I can't teach you my ways... you have to learn your own way on your own or through a master who knows your abilities better then you..."Chou's head would hang down in shame as she thought about her father and why he must have felt so asshamed of what he truely was. She gently clenched her fists to her side trying to seem strong. The tears welling up in her eyes were blinding her because she didn't want to cry. She was trying to stay strong, if not for herself then for anyone around her who were trying their best to help her. "Thank you Ukitake- San... I don't deserve your pitty..."Ukitake looked a bit hurt by her choice of words, but he knew what had sparked it. He knew revenge was never a good motivation, it only caused one to fight blindly through rage. "Murisake- San my offer still stands... if you'd like you can stay with our squard for a while until we get you on your feet... That is AFTER I talk to the first Taicho about it..."Chou would look up and smile sadly, giving a half bow. "Thank you Ukitake- San... I am ready to go and help out... I am feeling much better now..."Chou would go to walk outside limping along. Ukitake would look annoyed and picked her up and carried her over to her bed and layed her down. Shou would flush furiously, she felt like he was treating her like she was just a child. "No... Murisake- San... you are going to rest here until you are completely well... THEN you may join us..."Chou would then look to the other's feeling a bit shy. Things were starting to feel awkward and she felt more and more like a burden to the people living in this strange place. "..."

"You can stay here and recover yourself, Chou-san, and it doesn't matter to me what happened in the past, because it wasn't your doing at all," she said softly. She then asked the 13th captain, "Ukitake-taicho, should you be up and walking about as well? Maybe it would be best to wait and recover awhile before talking to the head captain?" She glanced out the window and groaned. "It's already so late... Please, if everyone will excuse me, I have a lot of paperwork to fill out. If any of you need me, I will be in the office. Isaac-taicho, you too. Rest, now, please." She bowed and turned to leave. Her opinion of Chou still stood. She liked her. No matter what the stupid history books said.

I wouldn't doubt Kira if he read his poems, and maybe even Retsu can come! And you too, Jushiro!" Isaac says happily, and a roll. "And Yachiro-chan and Kenny-sempai, and lil' Shiro! And Momo-chan!"

"I heard that." Leon calls, sliding into his uncomfortable chair. A faint line someone told him runs through his head; If a chair is uncomfortable, it means you've sat in it for too long. Leon snickers to himself. It's the same chair he'd used twenty years ago, when he started his project.
