Lupin The Great
Seriously their the most simplest of anime's I've ever seen.
They are.
Aside from Dragonball Z.
That's part of the appeal, though. They're simple and self-contained, so you can watch just about any one and understand. They stay simple without being stupid or bad. It stays straightforward.
That's why I can watch 155+ eps of Lupin, but not of Inuyasha.
I wouldn't actually say Dragon Ball Z since I lost tract of where it fit into reality later into the series, but to the more earilier part of the series I would make that statement. And Inuyasha again was simple to understand in the beggining but by a certain stage it was just to dull and complex to really grasp.

I call Dragonbaal Z simple because it always has the "Powerful bad guy we must fight" staory again and again, just with different poeple.

Lupin can have the "Get the Treasure" theme several times over, and though it stays consistant, it doesn't get boring.
There's always some different person or thing that adds another dimention.
Lupin also doesn't have endless, ponitless episodes of talking about something, "powering up".

Which is why, once again, Lupin can I watch over and over.

Lupin Mailing List
Monkey Punch, the creator of Lupin III, would like to know what people
want the phantom thief to steal next time.

OK Wave (a BBS site where people contribute answers to one others'
questions) and Nikkei Entertainment (a magazine about movies, music,
television and books) are holding a contest called "Enter KaitĂ´ryoku
Senshuken," a contest pitting OK Wave users against the entertainment
industries questions. Entertainment industry professionals ask the
questions, and then from the answers provided a winner is selected.

Monkey Punch joined the team that contributes questions along with
other people who work in entertainment industries.

Monkey Punch's question is 'What do you want Lupin III to steal next
time ?'

He will select what he regards as the best answer and then draw an
original picture of Lupin III stealing the item in question as a prize
for the winner. The original picture will be given to the winner.
Furthermore, if there is an excellent idea, it will be adapted for the
next Lupin III work. Supplementary prizes which will be given to the
winner include a Lupin III Zippo lighter, Lupin III DVD, Amazon gift
certificate and 6 month free subscription to Nikkei Entertainment
magazine.

The deadline to provide an answer is Novermber 17th. Participants must
be registered with OK Wave to enter the contest.

The contest's home page, and guidelines can be read (in Japanese)
here, while a message from Monkey Punch and his question are posted
here (also in Japanese).

xd I wonder how many people will suggest Monkey Punch. Probably a lot. I will envy the winner, though. Lucky so and so...

He should steal the London Bridge and return it to London. No, my real answer is the souls of all the worlds children. twisted Mwahahaha! Now that would be a unique answer to his question.

I wish I could meet Mr. Monkey Punch in person, I just want to at least shake his hand for creating one of the best anime's ever created.

Nah...that would be way too much like Carmen Sandiego... I think she DID steal the London Bridge in something (The game show? Maybe one of the DOS Games?) God I feel old now T__T

I'd have suggestions for what he could steal, but most of them are stereotyped and the other is WAY too crude :3

I hated DOS.

My real answer would probably be some odd Monty Python or Three Stooges reference that nobody in Japan would get.

But why hate DOS?? LMAO It was so...not user friendly!
Okay so DOS sucked, but the games were great *cough* kings quest *cough*

On a side note, I bet they would get the Monty Python references. They like it there...to the point of cosplay 0.o There was some in Cosmode...it made me laugh.

I only remember Oregon Trail or whatever it was called and Pool of Radiance.

*remembers a group of Japanese people singing the Spam song* Hmm, yeah I guess you're right. I want to see a group dressed up as all the Gumbys walking around and screaming. That would be awesome. Wow, this is getting really of subject... sweatdrop

Yes, we are, but I I feel obligated to still deviate form the topic to let you know that is exactly what was being cosplayed. If I had my magazines and scanner I would so show it to you. The person is way too awesome for cosplaying that (It was only one of them sadly but still very very amusing). It had me laughing out loud to see it.
I think the only thing I would have found better would have been people dressed as a pantomime horse.

And now, in an effort to redeem this post for the general reader...
I just saw the plot movie for Lupin (what was released before the first tv show)
Anyone else see it? (Kinda scary~ Lupin sounds sadistic ^_^;; )
If you haven't, it's worth downloading. They took footage directly out of this short and stuck it in the intro for the first season. Ah...cutting corners xd

xd Monty Python cosplay. The very thought is hillarious.

*ahem, back to the Lupin pilot*
I have it. I burned it to a DVD, so it's mine forever! twisted

If that's something to be proud of...
Lupin sounds really odd, I'm gald they went to Yasuo Yamada for the rest of the series.
I think the best part of that film was the shogi battle between Zenigata and Lupin in the begining. After that, it gets odd. I enjoy it, but it's still weird.
(Yes, Lupin does sound evil).
They used the same guy for Jigen, in noth pilot versions and in the series. Funny how that turned out, concidering just about everyone else was changed. Goemon had Zenigata's voice in the Cinematic version, which sounded...off kilter.

Before I saw the pilot film, I had no idea what was up with the First Series begining, or why he had a red jacket in the opening and not in the show.

Not that the pilot film really explains that much. xp

Well, no one has said anything for awhile, so I thought I would just say something that's odd to see what happens. xp

I once wanted to make a Lupin Theme Cookbook. That's it. I wanted to make a Cookbook of the things they ate, or have dishes from all the places they visited.

I wanted to put 'Beer SnoCones' from Tokyo Crisis, 'Shabu Shabu' (Hot Pot) from Albatross: Wings of Death (odd title), and other things I could think of.
Unfortunatley, I could only think of the Earthworm Broth for something that Goemon cooked. sweatdrop

There. Now you all know my dark secret, and you can talk about it. ^_^

Wow, I actually came here. sweatdrop My latest habit of coming on Gaia, posting once or not at all before getting bored and leaving.

But, yes, aren't ideas wonderful? Me, my mind needs to stop functioning for a bit. xp The foods don't really need to be new and different. (note: I have no idea why I wrote that sentence...) It could be like:
Spaghetti as seen in Castle of Cagliostro
*insert ingrediants and recipe here*

Or something like that. I thought Goemon cooked other stuff. Can't think of any right now, though. You could have something else for your everything Lupin collection. 3nodding Something no one else has.

I still want to do the Lupin internet radio thing, but after looking into it it would cost more money than I would want to spend right now or in the near future. sweatdrop And then the $20 CDs.....*gonkage*
