Koran got up from the ground and finally found his footing. Nodding to Lorelei, he accepted her offer of a gift, then silently headed back into her wagon to gather his things. Pulling on his robe and grabbing his cane, he hobbled back out to her, reaching out and handing her a small pink crystal. "I'm gald I could help you, Miss...though I am sorry it took so much out of you...accept this crystal as an apology. Maybe you can make it into a necklace for your daughter?" He pulled the hood of his cloak over his head and then slowly began to make his way back down the path that he had come from.

Sighing deeply and shuddering, Lorelei patted herself down and shook herself a few times. Cleaning came first, pretty quickly, and then she had to go pick Vanna up. Then... a well-deserved nap. And after...
Well, cleaning didn't sound all THAT bad, did it?

Aleysius spread his wings. Today, the meij was thick with fortunes. He waited, cautious to catch only that which pertained to those within his wagon. Finally, he ringed around one that was most assuredly for Lorelei and her child, and felt the kernel of fortune run through him as he prophecized.
One friend. One friend among many. Her friends are worth so much to her, And it would devastate her to lose them. But for the child... One friend. One friend among many... Will betray her on the water.

The moment Lorelei opened the door, holding Vanna, Aleysius began to speak. She wasn't too late, then. But the words Aleysius spoke...
Lor clutched Vanna tightly to her breast, stroking the girl's hair. While Vanna didn't understand all of the cryptic rhyme, she could tell it didn't bode well... for her.
"Betrayal on the water," Lor murmured. "The Pythos... or Tempranillo." Lorelei bit her lip, sinking onto her bed. She should go back to the group at the fire, tell them what had happened. Clear her head...

Even with Vanna's little songs, the wagon seems... empty, now. I suppose I will adjust with time, and I should be glad that the ghost is gone.
It was a violent exorcism. The help who arrived (an old exorcist by the name of Koran) broke the mirror I found so long ago. It angered the ghost, who began breaking things throughout the wagon... it knocked into me on its way out. I felt so cold for a long time afterwards...
But it's gone. The old man gave me a small crystal as he left, and I gave him the butterfly from Seinheph. He was a kind man...
There was a talk by the fire tonight. We all received fortunes today from our Banyas. I didn't get mine until halfway through the discussion.
Betrayal on the water...
I fear for Vanna.
But there seems to be a much greater danger lurking for the other children of the caravan. There is talk of a Woodland Choice... and nobody knows what it means.
The Meij doesn't seem to bode well for our group...

Lorelei sat outside her wagon on a blanket she'd found inside and spread out over the grass. Vanna sat nearby, playing with the angel doll that Lorelei had bought for her long ago. The woman smiled and watched her daughter for a moment before turning her attention back to the harp that rested in her hands. She resumed tuning the delicate instrument, working with half-closed eyes as she remembered doing the same thing back at home.
Music practice and language study had been the few parts of her old life that she'd truly enjoyed. She wished, though, that she could have once had a day like today - sitting out in the sun with some food for a later lunch and an instrument in her lap.
She supposed it was likely that somebody would come and join her. She was glad, in that case, that she'd accidently made more than enough stew (chilled, as it was getting warmer outside). The one thing she was uncertain of was if the stew was any good. Lorelei hoped nobody died of food poisoning because of her...

Heather opened her door to watch Kala dissappear into the shadows of the trees. It was where she liked to be and Heather had no problem with her not being around others. She had already shown that she would like to attack them.
She stepped outside to let the air surround her, it always felt nice. She then turned to see Lorelei. She went in and picked Amkia up before going back out and walking over to the other girl, Amkia on her hip.
"Hey!" She spoke cheerfully, alot more then she had been and Amkia was definatly looking happier as well. She looked at the stew and it made her slightly hungry, but she would probably eat later!

Marissa happened to be ambling through the caravan, holding Kale's hand as they went. Kale was enjoying the walk, humming loudly (and without a particular tune). The woman saw Ely and Vanna, as well as the approaching Amika and Heather, and waved.
"Hello, dear ones! How are you on this lovely day?" She approached and knelt next to Kale, balancing on the balls of her feet. She surveyed the site. "A picnic, it seems?" she said with a laugh in her voice. Kale recognized Vanna from the fireside, the one who had given him a hug, and grinned.

Lorelei looked up from her instrument at the two women, approaching with their children. "Hello there, all of you! I didn't quite expect this much company all of a sudden, but there's more than enough stew for everybody - I'm afraid I'm not that used to cooking, so I misjudge portion sizes..." She smiled sheepishly. "But it's nice and chilled, for the summer air. Do have some - I brought out a loaf of bread, as well."
Vanna stopped playing with her angel doll long enough to spot Kale and Amkia, and took off across the blanket (still clutching her toy) to the both of them, laughing and waving. Her crawling seemed to be getting better as time went on, but she was still incapable of speech.
Lorelei watched Vanna, beaming like the new, proud mother that she was, and then returned to tuning her harp. "I haven't played this harp since I bought it - you will be my first audience! That is, if you'd like."

Heather placed Amkia down and he instantly crawled to go see Vanna. It was nice for her to see her son happy again.
She then turned to the other two and smiled, "Hello! oo I would love some stew! Saves me cooking later! Oh and I am alot better then I have been thanks!" She laughed a little and looked at the harp, I have a little flute I play, would be nice to hear the harp though!" She looked it over, they were such delicate insturments.

Kale smiled and greeted the two children by placing a hand atop both of their heads and petting their hair. He was a strange, eccentric child.
Marissa was happy to sit. "Oh, I'd be delighted to hear it," she said. "Perhaps, if the tune's familiar, I can sing along. If, of course, you don't mind." She smiled.

"No, I don't mind at all." She smiled. "And I would love to hear you play the flute some time, Heather! I never really saw music as a large part of my life, but now, with Vanna... it's almost as important as language is." Lorelei nodded to herself and finished tuning the harp, then experimently strummed her fingers along the strings. It was a very nice and rich sounding harp - a little unexpected from such a small, seemingly decorative instrument.
She took up an old song she knew, something that had been played in courts far to the south east. It was a slightly melancholy song, but with a vein of love and desire warming it throughout.
Vanna sat up straight as her mother began to play, and after giggling a little, she picked up the tune and began to hum a simpler tune that augmented her mother's song well. For such a small child, her voice was pure - boding well for her singing future!

Heather sat down and listened. The song she played was lovely and her little girl, oh what a voice she would have one day!
It helped relax Heather and she seemed to float in the music that surrounded her, bringing strange days that were past back to her. She wished to get up and dance but yet she stayed where she was, not moving.
Amkia giggled and watched Vanaa ocassionally trying to bat one of Kales ears. they looked funny!

Kale laughed at Amika and twitched his ears around. He listened to Vanna sing and contemplated joining in, but decided against it, realizing he had no trump to match her's. Still he enjoyed listening.
Marissa's eyes lit. "I adore this song," she whispered, "And your playing...it's magnificent." She hummed very softly.

Eyes half-closed and head bowed in concentration, she smiled. "It's partially from my upbringing, and partially from the harp itself. It.... it's as if it were guiding my fingers, I suppose. Though that may just be fancy."
Vanna's hum turned to a wordless singing and the little bird-fey swayed from side to side, enjoying the song. Her little angel toy was forgotten on the blanket near the two boys.
