eek Oh my! Zenigata would have a field day with all that ramen!

Zenigata: Hahaha! Now that I have money, I'm going to buy that expensive ramen that always taunted me from the shelf! Well, who's all high and mighty now??
*goobles the pricey ramen up*

The moving bank was very original, but I never understood how Lupin got out. I should watch it again, probably, but I didn't understand how the escape plan worked...

One I will not watch again is the episode with all the children. That belong to certain persons (Lupin, Jigen and Goemon), even when there's not even a chance it could happen.

I probably won't watch that one with the machine gun and dancing, either. With the girl dressed as the bunny? I forget her name. I think it's Jenny or something like that, and she wants to be a ballerina.

Or the one with some girl who learned things from Lupin, Goemon and Jigen, and she beat them. I think they went into the desert after that, and she tried to kill Lupin. Was there a camel involved in that story? I'm remembering something about a camel, or camel-spirit...thing.
Uh, yeah. sweatdrop

There are some borderline episodes, though.
-Zenigata almost adopted. Very odd episode.
-Goemon and the Golden Pinball Machine.

But, all in all, there are more episodes I'll watch than ones I won't.

Yeah, the more episodes a series is, the more there will be that are good for one viewing only. 3nodding Or at least that's my experience from long running series, anime and non-anime.

I sort of remember the camel one. The one with the kids was very odd. Then there's the dolphin one. And the glass box x-ray thing. Those two belong in their own category. And the rich kid who wants Fujiko. And the prince who runs the marathon. I didn't care for those very much.

The one in the second series with the vampires -where the woman was the twin sister of Jesus- would be another that Adult Swim would most likely not show, if they did show more. The greatest part in that episode was: Where Fujiko was dressed up as Elvis, I guess it was supposed to be. I was like, how did she fit into a three foot tall costume and still be able to move around? XD

xd I forgot about that. I agree that AS wouldn't show that episode. That one is a one-timer for me as well. It's was just a little too odd for me. Though, Lupin looked more like his grandfather in that episode than he probably ever will again.

The more episodes there are, the more likely there will be ones that make you go:
"What were they thinking?"
The one where the little boy wants to be exactly like Lupin strikes me as odd, especially at the end. The boy has all these pictures of Lupin and company.
How many little boys who are eight years of age collect pictures of theives and want to be like them?
The Dolphin one and the X-Ray Box.
Zenigata should have thought about the X-Ray Box sooner, the Dolphin one was just weird.

There was another vampire one, in the third series. It too was also odd, with that bleeding ruby? Lupin writers must like vampires. And Nazis, but that's a different topic all together. wink

Okay, I watched Secret of the Twilight Gemini again tonight and I know what the main problem is with it. And Lupin being dumb is a small part of it. The main thing I didn't like about it was something else. A non spoiler walkthrough:

The beginning part on the train was cool. I liked that. And then it went downhill. I mean, way too much background story on people you don't care about just to explain something that's not even worth all of that explaining. So, yeah, that was my main problem. Plus half the people they talked about I was wondering who they were and where they came into the story. And the ending could have been a lot better. And then the credits I liked only because I like the ending song.

I should write reviews. xd Because this one is just so insightful.

Yup, that about sums it up. xd

I haven't watched Twilight Gemini in a long time, but from what I remember is that all the explaining is trying to give the movie a plot.
Of which there is very little.
I think for most of the movie I watched it going "Why?".
i.e. "Why is she in here? Why did he pop up? Why does he hate Lupin? Why do they need this?"

The train part was cool. I like the ending song as well, but found the ending a bit odd.
The only other movie that reminds me of Gemini is Legend of the Gold of Babylon.
Except, I enjoyed that movie fairly well until the end, because of a certain sci-fi element...

Legend of the Gold of Babylon I thought was weird all the way through. I'd watch Twilight Gemini over that one. xp But to me Twilight Gemini was just nice to look at. It was like the colors or something, I have no idea. I just like looking at it. xd

That one was very odd, but I like all the movies over Twilight Gemini. Twilight Gemini was just....creepy. *shudders*

Going back to the Legend of the Gold of Babylon what was up with <Rosetta being an alien? And why is it that only the alien likes Lupin?....> neutral

Script writers: ''Hey animators! Let's make this Lupin movie about alien and gold!''
Animators: ''Sounds good! as long as there are no more Nazis/Zombies in it, it's fine with me!''
Script Writers: ''Aww, no more Nazis? No more zombies? Oh well, there goes the rest of the script. Now let's make one up off of the tops of our heads, no matter how weird it is! But no Nazis or Zombies. If the animators have to draw those, they say they'll go on strike....''

Okay, very cool Lupin news that I found all by myself! No mailing list!
*pats self on back for research accomplished* xp

I was browsing the internet tonight and I found the link to Phuuz's website.
Phuuz (say "fuze") is the company that helps adapt and localize the Lupin TV series in english for Geneon.

I was look ing at the projects and this came up:

Phuuz Projects

...
PROJECT : Lupin III (1st season)
CLIENT : Geneon Entertainment / Cartoon Network
DESCRIPTION OF WORK : Supervision of the localization (English adaptation) of the series for American DVD release and airing on Cartoon Network for their segment, ?Adult Swim?
...

It's always been a rumor that Geneon had it, but I think this is pretty positive proof that they do have it, even if they haven't dubbed it!
*is on a Lupin rush, akin to a sugar rush*

Website: http://www.phuuz.com/projects.php

In any case, I just think this is one of the coolest things I've found out all year. mrgreen

Hehe I loved Twlight of Gemini, in my opinion it's the best Lupin III movie produced by Funimation. But then again I did like Crisis in Tokyo. sweatdrop

@ Ice: xd Yeah, I kind of wonder what they were thinking about when they wrote Babylon. Actually I wonder that with a lot of the movies and episodes. Nazis and zombies must be somewhere in the contract.

@ Nani: surprised That's some awesome news. Someone asked me why they didn't have the first series. And now I know they do. I guess they are waiting for the second series to be finished or something? Seeing the first series without bad subtitles...that's always a good thing.

@ Lupin: FUNimation protected their butts too much on Twilight Gemini. Did Lupin ever call that guy gay or queer once in the english version? I thought that was pretty funny. Tokyo Crisis was a bit easier to follow for me. They should have named it Inspector Zenigata: Crisis in Tokyo though. xd

I think he did but then again it was for good reason at that time.

Nani_Lupin
... Lupin 1974 live-action film:
This is a trailer for it, on the Dicotek website:

http://www.discotekmedia.com/trailers.html
...
If you go to the website now, they have the same trailer up, but subtitled. It helps a little bit. You can watch the crazy tailer again and sorta understand the plot! xd
Still odd, though.

They could just make up the subtitles and I wouldn't know the difference. xd Thinking of that makes me want to capture parts of the anime and make up subtitles for it. I have way too much time on my hands. sweatdrop

CuteBoyNick on the mailing list got Funi's Fujiko's Unlucky Days early and reported this english additon to the dub (which is slightly funny):
CuteBoyNick
Yes...in two lines...they intentionally pronounce the names right...it went something like this:

Lupin: Oh, Go-AY-mohn, can't you dig something out of your bag of tricks? Goemon: It's Go-ay-man.
Lupin: what did I say?
Goemon: Go-AY-mohn
Jigen: Don't complain, he never calls me JEE-gen

That's not the 100% exact dialogue, but it's pretty close. They recognize that they pronounce the names right, but I guess this late in the game, they weren't going to fix it...

While it funny, I wonder why they just didn't:
a) Do it right the first time or
b) Just do it right without any remark.

I'd preferr the former, but the later will have to do since it's a little late for that.

An odd thing to add, though. Isn't the like announcing
"We know it's wrong, but we're doing it anyway?" confused

I guess that's their response to peoples complaints. "Oh, well we'll just make fun of ourselves and it will be hilarious. Ha ha ha."

They should have written Lupin's response as "Well, it's not my fault the people at FUNimation are total retards."

I never watch the dubbed versions, so I didn't know they pronounce Goemon wrong.
