Toshi absent-mindedly accepted the link for both of them, still trying to comfort Inutai to keep his mind off the pain. Once Zen linked together with Toshi, there was something strange about it.
It seemed Toshi was already linked together with someone, Inutai. But it was much more than a link. More like a dependence, or a bond. It was strong and brilliant, unwavering. Through this link, everything that Toshi felt, Inutai felt as well, and vice versa. In that sense, they were exactly the same. That bond, however, wasn't of the minds, but of the soul. This bond connected each of their souls together. Seperately, it was obvious their souls would be weak, yet bound together, they were strong.
Truthfully, Inutai only has half a soul. Toshi only has half of one as well, so in order for them both to live, each half must depend on the other to survive.

Well that's interesting.....
He didn't mean to, but the red head found something perhaps useful to know later. Zensekai only had to weave a few energy strings together, less of a pain then Angela's wound. In a few minutes he closed his mind again, and cracked his neck.
"It'll take maybe a half an hour to close up, but it'll stop bleeding soon." He told Angela and Toshi while dusting himself off.

[[Sorry if I'm jumping the gun but I might not be able to post tomorrow. Our 16 year old dog, Brandy, was rushed to the vet tonight and, while she's home now, we have to wait until tomorrow for the bloodwork to get back to us. Hoping it was just severe shock from something, rather than anything else. On top of that, I was fabulously ill all day. Forever had to look after me, the poor thing. I'm a bad patient. So, without further whining...]]
Cheeva stood, panting, eye roaming the now still skirmish grounds. Nothing moved, except the wavering bone-dog dancing as her hands shook. There was no point holding it for the moment, it was only draining precious magic from her. And, given the fact she'd seen hide nor hair of the moon or sun since she'd arrived - and certainly no sinnubhain - Cheeva was fairly sure she wouldn't be replenishing any of her stores anytime soon. With a tired flick of her fingers, she released her skeleton puppet and sank slowly to her knees. Someone, somewhere, was crying. A female. Maybe the midget, maybe the fire-dolt. Perhaps it was their first kill? Their first battle? There were always tears after the first time, before you realised that life is empty and taking it means nothing in the end. Cheeva wearily scooped up her fallen knives and sheathed them once more as sparks flew across her chewed-up lips and the scratches the beast's claws had left on her arms and neck. She dropped silently to the ground no longer able to support herself, even while kneeling. Cheeva had been meaning to replenish her magic after she had taken out Rye's target. She had assumed there would be plenty of time. Now? She had a three days...four if she was lucky. "Never assume," she muttered a childhood mantra to herself, shutting her eyes, waiting for the magic fug to end and allow her stand again. "To assume is to die."
[[It's craptacular! xd ]]

Zen didn't see the girl bust into fire again, so he got a bit worried. "Hmm... Gyp? What is with her? Does she need some aid?" He asked, using his mouth this time, but quickly closed his eyes before getting an answer. He had no idea what was up with that child.
So instead, Zen tried to link and send energy to the cat, whom he assumed could use some. He opened a link, asking for permission again.

Gyp had stayed silent and slightly confused throughout the mute exchanges, including, to his extreme confusion, Angela's break down; he'd reluctantly yet eagerly edged away during that to let her be private with the other man she had suddenly collapsed against. He'd felt oddly cold after that. Then Gyp just waited to hear something other than the other members of the troupe to raggedly breathe, as he couldn't hear much else, or focus on much else other than his concern for his companion. He knew better than to interrupt whatever was going on despite his misgivings.
"--yp? What is with her? Does she need some aid?"
His head snapped up so fast it cracked, and he winced as he unsteadily rose to his feet.
"What happened? You can help her then--? --Or even just take me to her if you can't?" He stared blankly at where he knew the ground was, frustrated. "She isn't supposed to...be doing whatever she's doing, that's for sure. What's happened to her, exactly?"

Cheeva felt the red-head attempt to probe her mind. Her eyes snapped open, her sneer grew deeper. Slowly she turned, laying nonchalantly on one side like a cat, glaring at him. "Try that again, Longshanks, and you'll find it difficult to count higher than five on your fingers." She got groggily to her feet, a hand raising subconsciously to her forehead. "My secrets are my own. Stay out, or one night, one day, when you least expect it, your food will suddenly taste a little odd - a little abnormal. Then you will feel queasy. Then so tired. Then your stomach with burn and scream. And then..." she let the sentence end with a grin. Cheeva hiked her skirt up and unstrapped a long knife bound to her thigh. She tossed it at Zen's feet. "There, try and protect yourself next time. Oh, and be careful of the blade. I don't remember if I poisoned that one or not."

A simple no would have sufficed! Zen said over the link, purposely doing it a bit hard, so as to give a headache for a few minutes. He wasn't really amused, but now he had a knife to keep. "Thanks Kitty cat." He said, and stashed the knife in his shirt. "Note to self, if Cheeva is on the ground bleeding, hide instead." He mumbled, while looking over to Gyp.
"We were attacked by some mean creatures. She's off unconcious to your right. Don't worry, I guess I'll handle that too.... " Zen said, a bit peeved at the cat, so he added "with any luck I'll end up having that wicked bird peck at me while I'm at it..." He was having no luck with creatures as of late.
Zen sat down, hopefully for the last time, opening a channel to the girl, only this time he didn't wait for a hint of permission. He couldn't quite get what was wrong with her either, he'd try to jog her awake with a hint of energy. If that didn't work, then he'd have to go in there, which he didn't really want to do.....

Someone...here......someone...here.... ...Who?
The man pulled the frail girl closer, and she pressed her head against his chest, closing her eyes blissfully. --nails tore at the skin of her back, red, glistening, beaded with sweat and screams-- "...Forever..." She murmured, listening to the sienna-haired man's heartbeat; she wrapped her fingers around the back of his neck and smiled. "I like the sound of that." --there was red blood on the sheets, oh yes, blood there too, red and glistening and red-- He pressed a cheek to the top of her head, running long, tan fingers though white silken hair wistfully, but did not reply. --red on the white silk hair, red blood on the sienna man's lips as he possessively buried teeth in the nape of her neck--
The memories, for that was the only thing they could be, suddenly snapped shut like a mouse trap. Darkness prevailed in the girl's mind.
...Out. Get out!
Gypsum started slightly as he sensed flames flickered to life on Nimue's body, and the spot where he knew Sin was. He eyed her anxiously, as he was thankfully now able to see, as the only part of her body not engulfed in the ruby fire was a pale hand. It twitched, and dug its nails so hard into the ground that black liquid seeped from the wounds.

After Angela managed to push away the lingering images and feelings from the memories she and Zen had shared, she slowly got to her feet, feeling considerably calmer but far more exhausted.
At the very least, her shoulder seemed to be in working order again. "I guess I owe you one now," she said, going to where Zen was sitting. She noticed that the shrimpy girl was on fire again. "She really seems to do that quite a lot."
Angela sighed as she plopped beside him. "Zen I--I'm sorry about what happened back there. I did not intend for you to see that or for me to see---" she hesitated, "what I saw..."

Toshi was still trying to get Inutai to calm down, ever after Zen had done his business. Eventually, he calmed down enough to realize the battle was over and that everyone was just lounging around, 'recovering'. He saw that someone was on fire, but didn't really recognize who. Judging by how no one was caring, he figured this was normal for her and dismissed it. He turned back to Toshi and looked at his arm somewhat worriedly. "You should be more careful. . ." Toshi merely stayed silent.

"Wonderful..." Zen muttered, mockingly. Too much information today..... He was somewhat thankful the cat didn't resisted, gods only knew what he'd see in there.
He looked up, seeing the twilight grow across the sky. Angela came over soon, and commented the inevitable discussion on the strange things they ended up exchanging. "She does, and I thought I was strange..." He replied, thinking for a second. "Neither did I really. Nothing to apologize about, what I showed you wasn't any better." Zen stroked one of his rings, the purple and black and shiny gas in the jewel seemed to swirl around with whatever he was doing. "So, now that everyone is feeling better, what are we to do about shelter?" He half wanted to change the topic, half not, but it was getting late and being out in the open at night was not usually a good thing.

Angela bit her lip. "It could have been worse," she finally said. "The last person who entered my head left with a semi-permanent and rather irritating psychic bond." She gave a dry laugh. "It took us months to figure out how to get rid of that and let me assure you, shared dreams are no fun at all."
She stood and offered him her hand. "Thanks for healing the shoulder," she told him. "We're only a couple of miles from the mountains and the trees. It'll be easy enough to find shelter there. As soon as the firebug decides to extinguish, we should probably keep heading that direction."
