Lin couldn't help but be surprised (and maybe stare a bit) as she slid into the seat next to Amora.

"Elros? Mysterious?"

It was like saying that Aragost wasn't, well in these days he wasn't. Elros' and Aragost's replacements on the other hand...

Amora blinked at Lin. "You don't think so?" she asked, tilting her head curiously. "Do you know how old he is? And yet he never talks about his time before being here ... that's thousands of years that he could have been doing ... anything at all! It's mysterious, that he would have done so much and yet never breathes a word of any of it ..."

Then again, Amora tended to like to know everything she could about everyone.

"Oh...."

Lin had never thought about it that way, she knew very well that Elros had seen the end of the age where the trees existed, and she also knew he was third generation elf, which meant he was really really old (well Lin had already guessed that when she had first met him).

She thought about it and shook her head, "I had... just assumed before he came to Haven, he had done always as he said he had. Traveled, rarely going into the towns and cities if at all, going where the seasons depended."

And of course fought in the last war, she didn't think there wasn't a place not effected by it, but she took that as a matter of fact and never bothered to ask him about it.

"Haven," Amora repeated thoughtfully. "That's the ranch where the people hunt slavers rather than animals, correct? Mother and Father used to visit there ... and Greatgrandmother and Greatgrandfather ... they live there, yes?"

She had heard stories about that place, and she vaguely knew that Elros had lived there for a while, but she didn't know many details about it.

"I wouldn't say live there... I don't think they live anywhere, just travel where they wish," Lin murmured.

It had been a long time since she had seen the two of them though...

"But yes, that is where people hunt slavers."

"And you are familiar with that place," Amora said, looking at Lin thoughtfully. "Are you then related to the man that started the ranch? Donovan?"

Left to herself, she was quite capable of connecting dots, and it was something she dearly loved to do.

Well she was quick, and Lin didn't miss the fact Amora seemed to like to know things.

"He's my father, I spent a good portion of my life there in Haven, though in visits."

But an elvish month was a long time for a Second, she was pretty sure she had at least a year in Haven alone.

"And have you been on any of the hunts yourself?" the princess asked with a warm smile. "I know that you cannot be so young as you appear ... I know that humans are quite different from we elves, and yet ... there is something still more different about you than about the humans that I have seen ..."

She couldn't place her finger on it. There was just something that was different.

"One," Lin replied, "I only became old enough to go recently, so that was my first."

Also, it was simply because Lin didn't know if her father would let her, he was such an over protective father like that. She sort of pitied the unborn baby that was going to come, her father was going to have a field day in the next decade or so.

"Different in behaviour or something else?"

"Ah," Amora smiled. "I see. As for different ... I ... can't quite say. Perhaps in your mannerisms, but that can easily be explained by the fact that you are not from this world ... but also ... your appearance ... that you are ..."

She sighed, struggling over her words. "I cannot explain it. There is just something about you that is different. Something I can't see, but rather feel ..."

"She's blue instead of red," Pengolodh spoke up in elvish, looking only at his sister and deliberately looking away from Lin.

Lin was pretty sure he wasn't referring to what she was wearing. Now it was her turn to tilt her head, becuase she was just plain confused.

"Blue?" she repeated curiously.

Pengolodh hadn't heard Lin speaking their language earlier, and so he was surprised when she spoke to him, repeating what he had said. He stared down at his plate and clamped his mouth shut tightly.

Amora just giggled. "Pengolodh uses colours to describe people," she explained. "He has a gift ... like Grandfather has. He sees different colours around people, that tell him what they are like. Sometimes the same colour can mean different things, though, so when he says that you're blue ... he has to explain."

She looked at her brother patiently, but he didn't seem inclined to speak.

"You mean Gion Aldrich?" Lin asked as her brain was trying to process this.

Her mind sorted through everything she knew, it was no wonder why it sounded odd and yet familiar. Could it be that Pengolodh inherited an ability that leaked into his Grandfather as the result of one very odd bond. The thought made her think hard.

Amora smiled. "He is our only grandfather, yes," she nodded. "Father's father ... well, Father doesn't like to talk about him. He was not a good man."

"But Ada is," Pengologh piped up proudly. "Ada is a very good man, and a very good king, and someday I will be just like him!"

So it did leak in, well that was interesting... Lin wondered what else did, well the only other thing her own Grandfather was known for was visions and seeing ghosts. There were no ghosts in the Four Lands (and as far as she knew Shades didn't count), and who could tell with Lothiriel and her mother being seers?

Lin smiled at Pengologh, "He is," she agreed with him, "And I'm sure you will be."

Not to mention she thought, it was a useful gift to be able to see auras. She wondered what her Grandfather thought of this, he probably thought it was fasitnating. She looked back at Amora.

"I guessed as much, but I wanted to be sure."
