How very… droll. These humans, so easily amused, began to wander off to their respective destinations. Some, to return to the liquor tents, others to the various competitions which would punctuate the festival day.

The demoness glanced at the collapsed stage a moment, almost with a concerned look. It would be a shame if the Lord Thomas was injured. She wasn’t thinking of the chaos this would cause in the government, of course, but of the Lord’s handsome appearance. His death would certainly be a loss; his presence was half the reason she came to these silly public ceremonies.

Alas, she knew that such powerful men were often out of her reach now, what with her hiding like vermin within the lands of humans. She pouted a bit, slightly put off. But there was nothing to be done about it. And of course, there were plenty of other fine looking people about.

Lenore milled about a bit as the crowds dissipated, still looking for someone whose appearance was truly noteworthy to follow about and entrap. She identified a couple of possibles, but… she bit her lower lip thoughtfully, none of them seemed to catch her fancy for the outlandish. Her face scanned the thinning crowd, a look of stiff boredom replacing her formally contemplative expression. She let out a barely audible sigh. This was how her luck had been running lately. At least her shortage of victims had done wonders in turning the ongoing investigation concerning mysterious deaths on Redite Street cold.

Aw, she had liked the little inquisitor fellow so much, too. Perhaps he was about.

((Halcione and Kino, are your characters talking about each other?))

Thomas found himself under a pile of wood from the scattered platform. How had this happened? The guards were sure to have checked the platform before the opening ceremony began. Did the trick slip through because he and Allen were late? It was irony, at its best. The deed was quite obviously one set up by Forest.

During his brief speech, Thomas had noticed that the crowd was already restless, so the lord was simply delighted that the crowds had parted after he spoke and given less attention to his little stage mishap. A sparkling glint had almost blinded him when he had moved his head to make it seem like he was addressing everyone.

Some lady was dressed lewdly and flaunting her outlandish and sparkling clothes. It was a festival. Thomas had no intention of saying anything to her. He had no need. He wasn't planning to go to Redite Street any time soon.

For now, he was out of the rumble, and letting the others clean up. He'd go sit on the top of a roof somewhere and watch the townspeople in their revelry.

((Malaroth and Cat, if you're both entering the swordsplay, somehow Azure and Shane might be against each other. *cough cough*))

((Hm... I don't think so. Kino's flighty game doesn't suit Lenore's nature. If he collided into her... maybe then. I'm waiting for someone who doesn't have a partner, and whose character is particularly fine looking. ))

((I needs a partner, but I don't think Shizuru is Lenore's type... haha.))

Shizuru sighed as she reached her office and set the potions on her desk. She then moved them to the shelf and medicine cabinet. She didn't need to organize them. They were in a box, and all she did was label them. Sighing, she put a sign on her door "Closed" and went out to view some festivities before the drunks and ill started beating down her door.

((@Scythe: Thanks for taking over my character.. and seems like a good idea, though I was thinking Shane and Lyris would go head-to-head, since Azhure wasn't really entering.. was she?))

"How about the swordplay competition? That's what I came here for." Shane said as he watched the man scribble down his name. "Swordplay as well, my good sir." Lyris said. As they walked over to their places in the arena, Shane noticed a girl walking around with blades strapped to her legs. "Lyris, is it just me, or do I recognize that girl?" he asked as he pointed at her. Lyris looked over and said, "Probably nobody. She could've been one of your bar patrons." "No, I don't think it's that... It's like I've known her for a long time..." Shane replied. "Could she be.. no, she can't. My sister died long ago..." he thought, but he couldn't suppress that feeling.

((hope that's alright, Cat. ^_^))

((Actually, Lenore isn't gender-specific in her "activites." So as long as you look good, you're her type. twisted But alack, je retourne a ma maison par un petit peu du temp. I'm going home to visit my parents in Paris for the next like... 10 days (7th-15th) so I won't probably post much. sad But I will return!

I guess I'll have to see how things shape up by next Wednesday))

((Oh... but I still don't think Shizuru is Lenore's type or actually, Lenore isn't Shizuru's type even if Shizuru was somehow lesbian.))

As Shizuru looked around for stuff to do, she suddenly crashed into a group of girls chasing after some guy. "What?" she stuttered as she barely caught her balance. "What is this?" Gosh, if I end up unconscious like this morning, a lot of people are going to be messed up later.

Kino would finally make his escape with the help of an unfortunate incident, (Shizuru's bump), before realizing it, he would come to a stop on a.... stage? To his surprise, the situation had snuck up on him, now he would stand at the attention of a small crowd, fixated and held with expectation he'd at least entertain a small amount. Kino struck a pose, quickly adapting, then pulling out a flute from a bag attatched to his waste, he'd motion with a dance. The handsome and musically talented elf would now introduce his act to the now more than amused group, and within only a short time, people would participate, playfully dancing.

"What?" It was so random. Suddenly, whoever Shizuru had bumped into started playing music and people started getting into it and dancing. Was there something special about the music? She turned around and saw the crowd gathered around .... the loser musician from earlier at the harbor. "Well, at least he's contributing to the festival," Shizuru mumbled.

[[And so I return! With an... Abnormally large post. sweatdrop ]]

Aidan’s senses, being better than the average humans’, were nearly overwhelmed as the crowd began to move around her. The sounds were obnoxious, the smells even worse, and the sensation of being jostled from person to person in the midst of the surging crowd made her a bit dizzy. One of the many, disputed downsides of being small in stature, was that in a mass of people, you were more likely to get trampled, lost, and injured. Before this moment, the Elf had tended to disagree with this view. Now, however, as she was spun and stepped on, Aidan began to wish that she were larger. Extending her arms in front of her in the hope of creating some kind of barrier, she began to wind her way through the mob. Bottom lip quivering a bit, the young female moved as easily as was currently possible. Even still, there were many people pushing at her, not seeming to notice that she was there. “Damn….” She whispered in frustration, as a group of suspiciously dressed women pushed past her. They were wearing too much make-up, and exotic costumes. ’Performers of some kind…” Aidan thought vaguely, concentrating on her balance.
Unfortunately for her, this particular group was moving with a purpose, and in the same direction as the young Elf. Pushing at her from behind, the women didn’t seem to notice she was there. Aidan began to trip over her own feet, so she looked down at them, hoping to right herself. With one great push from behind, the performers moved past Aidan, causing her to trip into a very solid something going the opposite direction…

The women continued past her, still chatting happily, and not noticing the young woman behind them. Aidan found herself suddenly steadied against someone’s chest. Breathing a little heavily, the Elf tried to take a step back, caught her heel on the hem of her dress, and fell backward. This caused two things to happen: first, the people around her finally seemed to notice that she was actually quite solid and went out of their way to avoid her fall, and second, caused a flustered blush to rise in her cheeks. Aidan’s deep green eyes moved slowly upward, until they found the face of the Stable Master, Haucon Jonas.
To her, the man seemed like a giant, towering above her. She opened her mouth to say something, but before she had a chance to say anything, a foot trod on her right hand, grinding the delicate digits into the dirt below. Her apology turned into a yelp of pain as she tried to move the limb out from under its prison. She moved too fast, and too strongly, however, her acute reflexes causing the last two fingers to give an ominous popping noise, audible above even the bustling crowd. Whipping her eyes away from the face above her, Aidan looked to where her fingers where now turning a shade similar to that of an over-ripe blackberry. She moaned a bit, feeling the pain begin to pulse its way up her arm.

((As annoying as this is going to be, I feel that I have to pull out this Rp a bit. sweatdrop
I'm dragging it down and I reckon I'm better as one in the backgrounds so if anyone wants to take over Ian the Were-cat they can use him.
I'm keeping Shravra though. whee ))

Haucon was minding his own business, using the advantage of his height to see where he was going over the throngs of people. He meandered through the streets, glad that his broad chest worked something like the icebreakers on the front of the ships bound for up north.

He was totally oblivious of the masses, lost in his own thoughts, until suddenly he felt a hollow thump against his chest. His arms doubled up around the object that had collided with him momentarily, holding it to his chest and looking down to only see the top of a small head, covered in lovely red hair. He let go, surprised and stepped back slightly, to see dark eyes with just a hint of green for a split second before the girl seemed to slip. He moved to catch her still bewildered and not fast enough. She landed and he reached down to help her up. "I'm terribly sorry miss!" he began when suddenly she cried out in pain and yanked her hand from beneath the shoe of a stranger who appeared to take no notice. "HEY!" he shouted after the man who'd stepped on her, taking a moment to throw his shoulder into the man as he passed, he took no notice.

Haucon returned his attentions to the young woman on the ground. He reached down and took her uninjured hand, pulling her to her feet. "You alright?" he asked. She was so small, no wonder she was having trouble navigating the crowd. "Here, let's get out of the crowd a bit and have a look at that." he said gesturing to her bruising hand. He led her to the edge of the crowd, pressed against a building and looked at her. "Now, let's see this..." he said holding out his large hand for hers, not wanting to deliberately take hold of her injured hand in case it risked more damage to it.

Her mind on her fingers, Aidan hardly noticed as she was pulled to her feet. She let herself be led behind the man, pressing herself as close to him as possible, without actually touching him. Clutching her injured hand to her chest for safe keeping, the Elf vaguely noticed how well the large man navigated the masses. As they reached the edge of the crowd, Aidan sighed and finally registered that she was being spoken to. Even standing up, the man was still a foot and several inches taller than her. She barely reached his shoulder when standing at her straightest.
Still breathing heavily, she weighed the options of extending her arm. Her general distrust for the human race had just been strongly reinforced, and she was a bit hesitant to put herself in another vulnerable situation. After several long, contemplative moments, Aidan came to a decision. It would be rude, she thought, not to allow him to inspect it, as he had just rescued her from the mob.
Aidan extended her hand slowly; the entire limb was visibly shaking. Her eyes, wide as saucers, found his face and watched him suspiciously.
